We had a paid for booking for a Hotel in Barcelona (booked through Expedia.ca 3 month before) cancelled two days before we were to arrive (while we were in Paris). I had to spend 3 hour plus talking to a person who did not know anything about Barcelona to make a new booking. When we arrived the new hotel wanted payment even though we had payed Expedia. It took over 3 months to get our refund.
Terrible customer service. I wouldn't recommend Expedia to my worst enemy. They are absolutely horrible in terms of customer service and their ability to refund your money. Never and forever deal with them again.
Expedia is a company of thieves and liars. I booked a flight that was cancelled by Covid. The airline has refunded these tickets. Expedia refuses to do so. They blame the airline. They blame me. They refuse to refund the money I paid them. I would be happy to join a class action lawsuit.
Expedia charged me $1473. 00 Dollars Canadian for 4 nights in a 150.00 a night Paris Hotel.
No restitutions just an apology. They will not take responsibility for their screwups, I'm done with them.

Booking with expedia.ca makes no sense. You lose the ability to contact the airline or hotel if you need to make changes to your itinerary. When you call them, they will find some way to charge you even though they claim to not charge cancellation fees, etc...
Booked a car rental.in Florida for 8 days title says free cancelation, worry free booking. I went ahead and booked my car. I noticed free cancelation was no longer visible on my contract. I called them and she said that I did not book the right one. Just crooks...

Booked flights on the wrong days. My bad. Attempted to make changes, flight down was non refundable and a total loss. Flight back I was told was refundable worth 469$ when I went to cancel it I was told I could only get an Air Canada voucher. Ok. Then i was told the Air Canada voucher was only good for flights in the US even though I live in Canada. Ok. Decided to use the voucher for another flight through Air Canada from the US on the day previous for 325$. I was told that I would have to pay another 130$ out of pocket. I asked what about the 144$ difference in flight costs and they said that would be forfeited. So rather then re sell my more expensive flight on sunday and give me the cheaper flight on saturday they want another 130$ of my money for a total of 550$ for a flight anyone could buy off the street for 325$. Way to treat your customer. Would never book again. Use Onetravel.com or pretty much anyone else have had way better experiences.
I've tryed to get an answer from them for over a year to obtain a credit on my plane ticket for my flight that was canceled by a travel ban and they never contacted me back after multiple emails and calls. I only gave 1 star because it is impossible to give less
I booked a flight with Expedia, chose a price option showing no fee seat selection ( at a premium to the the first option) then had to pay the airline for the actual seat selection.
Called Expedia and got no resolution
The receipt you get from them is useless. I would suggest to all to screenshot every step of transactions with Expedia so they can't screw you!

I made a booking from delhi to Toronto but the agent on the phone made the wrong booking and struggled to change it talking to 4 different people and 5 hours of wait time making an international call
Was on hold over 8 hours trying to change my dates for a vacation. You have to go through expedia and not the direct airline, after being on hold for 3 hours the agent hung up on me. Then after another 3 hours I finally got through where the agent put me on hold for another 3 hours to contact Westjet. This process is insane.
We used Expedia to rent a car using the SIXT car rental company. I had never rented with SIXT before, but since it was offered by Expedia I expected they would be legit. I was wrong. When we arrived at the SIXT counter in Nashville, they had no more SUVs available, despite that being what we had booked. After waiting over an hour, the SIXT agent recommended that we book with the Alamo counter next door, and he made a note in our file that we should be refunded. But Expedia has refused to refund us! They also refuse to talk on the phone. Email or chat only. Terrible customer service. They charged us for a rental that they were unable to deliver. They basically stole our money. STAY AWAY.
Just wasted 3.5 hours. I needed to change a flight time, and couldn't. When I contacted them through online chat, Expedia told me the flight was nonchangeable, and said that I missed it during booking. Fine, maybe I did - but when I went to check the Fare Rules applying to that leg of my itinerary, they were simply not available. Fare Rules for one leg with one airline were there, but not the second with another airline. When I pointed this out, and said I suspected that Fare Rules weren't shown when I booked it either, they verbally shrugged and said repeatedly "do you have a screenshot to prove it?" Well, no - but I can prove it's not available to me *now*. However, that meant nothing to them. After three hours, I requested escalation to supervisor. (I had to explain what I meant by 'please escalate'.) The supervisor also showed zero interest in either correcting an obvious problem with their booking system, or negotiating a reasonable solution to a customer problem. Avoid.
Called a few times and after staying on hold the customer service reps PRETEND they can not hear you... They repeat few times that they can not hear you and hang up... Disgusting! Expedia must be outsourcing the business to a third world county... I will no longer use the platform... Extremely disappointed!
I fully understand the need to have cancelation policy's in place.
But it is interesting that at times like now with this virus other companies are working with their customers to cancel their reservations while Expedia.ca is taking half of our money because we canceled do to this virus.
We will never use Expedia.ca ever again.
I wish I could give Expedia ZERO stars. Worst experience ever dealing with any company. We booked a vacation package and after our initial flight there was cancelled, Expedia did not rebook an alternative flight correctly. We showed up to the airport (for the second time in 24 hours) and could not get tickets issued properly. Expedia refused to get us another flight the same day, offering an alternative for another day which would take about 2 days and get us to our vacation with only a day left in our stay. When we tried to get a refund they would only refund us the flight that was cancelled. We spent what should have been our first vacation in 4 years arguing with different agents, getting contradictory information and outright lies. In the end they have refused to refund us both the hotel stay as well as the return flight home. Absolutely a travesty of a company. BEWARE and stay away!
They have all the excuses not to refund you. Never I will book with them again. It's just good to do research. Better to book directly with the airline or the hotel. Very disappointed
I have a flight credit for $495.18 and I want to use it for another flight with the same airline but different destination and much cheaper fares which is $340. The agent asked me to pay $105 more for the flight. So instead of using $340 out of my $495, they asked me to pay another $105, so my ticket price will be $600 instead of $340. What kind of business is it?
They don't work for you even though you booked through them. If there is a problem, they side with the airline and hotel. When you book through a travel agent and there is an issue with your booking, they usually throw in a freebie item to compensate the issue with the booking. They will do anything to keep you happy. That is not the case with Expedia. They will take your money and leave you stranded! I will never use them again.
Due to a medical issue I had to cancel I a little trip. Hotel, car and flight. I received notification that they cancelled the hotel and car, apparently they did cancel the flight but won't send me proof that they did. All I got was no refunds are allowed only a credit on a future flight.
I don't want either all I need is proof so I can claim this on my own personal travel insurance, but to no avail... so my insurance claim will be denied because of Expedia.
Will never use again.
