Worst company ever, I book to my mom last year and she went into an emergency so I cancelled, then I wanted to book another flight for her.
They forcing me to book with same airlines within 10 month and even I have to found the same seat number for the same passenger.
They just stole 900$ from us because we cannot find booking with all these silly conditions they put.
You can absolutely not talk to or even live chat to anyone to make changes, alter your reservations, or ask a question... all the phone numbers provided will absolutely lead to a dead end... you have a better chance of winning a lottery than talking to a live person at expedia... the worst and most frustrating customer service i have ever had for any business in any category
I booked online in Canada and agreed to paying $129.16 Canadian. And I got charged $129.16 in USD so my bill came to $168. I've talked to three different agents and nobody can help me in resolving this issue. I will not be using trivago again and will be sharing this information with friends and family as well.
We recently took a road trip. I booked and paid for all my hotels through Expedia 2 months in advance. Upon checkout at the hotels, I asked for a receipt. Each time the hotel receipt was significantly lower than the amount I had prepaid to Expedia. For the duration of our 12 nights, I paid over $350 to Expedia than if I had booked directly through the hotels. I contacted Expedia and they gave me lame excuses for 40 minutes. I finally gave up, but will never book with them again.
Expedia.ca or Expedia.com although some time has great prices when it comes to service they are very bad. And their price guarantee policy is just fake. They find many excuses not to apply it to you, by the time to get them process your price match guarantee and decline your application, other websites prices go up. Check trivago they compare prices, priceline is good and kayak
Expedia price match guarantee is nothing but mere lip service. If anyone can book hotel/flight directly it is much better than dealing with Expedia. Lot of time get wasted in resolving issue with Expedia, so better avoid them.

Customer service gets the call within 2 minutes so no wait time there for stating the issue

I wanted to book a flight and use my credit from a cancelled fight. Took about 2 hours to accomplish that. Customer service representatives constantly put you on hold to 'verify'. Seem like they are not knowledgeable and this was with all 3 of them whom I spoke to. Charged my credit card twice. Had to call them back to sort that out for almost an hour.
Conclusion:
If you are simply browsing for price comparison or in an urgent need to buy a ticket maybe. But, in case you need to make changes or cancellations you will have a very unpleasant experience.
Somehow my activity reservation I booked months ago, got cancelled today. Two weeks before my trip where I'm doing that activity is supposed to happen. I've been forwarded FOUR times, and my total call time is currently budging on 50 minutes. Right now I'm just bored waiting on hold for the greater portion of this phone call. Where they told me I should just rebook even thought haven't received my refund yet. And if I rebook now it's at a higher cost because I booked when the exchange rate was better for me. Also just got off the phone after a good hour. NO FIX. I would not recommend booking with Expedia.
First time I reserved a hotel on Amalfi Coast two months in advance, after travelling from Canada to the hotel I found out that I DON'T have a reservation. This after expedia.ca took my money and used it for two months. Now I had reserved a flight in Europe, and I after paying I can't even access my itinerary.
If you like being cheated use them if not I am sure there are better traveling companies on the internet.

Terrible customer service. I wouldn't recommend Expedia to my worst enemy. They are absolutely horrible in terms of customer service and their ability to find the best deal out there. It apparently takes me 8 weeks to get a refund for the ticket too now. So yup, they basically stole my money for 8 weeks with zero remorse on the phone. They acted as if "what are you going to do about it" attitude the entire conversation. I have no idea how this company is still around and in business.
I was denied a credit for a future flight. The airline Air Canada would not allow me to fly because of their vaccine rules.
So I missed my connecting flight which was booked with Expedia. They refused to give my my 300.60 dollars back. There are no places to make a complaint. Everyone is stealing your money these days. Using covid as an excuse to rob you blindly. Al I wanted was to go bury my mother. Wicked. Abusing the people.
I have never seen customer support worse than what exists at Expedia.ca. Long, long waits just to eventually (if you're lucky) get to speak to representatives who appear to be poorly trained. I got different answers from each rep I talked to, they were unable to transfer me directly to a supervisor, when I did eventually get to speak to a supervisor he would not give me a contact number or last name, sent me an email from an email address that didn't accept responses and with no return email address where I could contact him directly. He promised to call me back in 3 to 5 business days, but it has now been over a month and I have no way to contact him. Worst experience ever.
Absolutely worthless website. Inept customer service and when I needed to rebook a 100% refundable trip I was unable to do so. I'm out over $6,000 and can not warn enough people away from these grifters.
Absolute horrendous experience with Expedia. Stay away! Was told I could not change/cancel a booking (requested within 24 hrs of booking). Called Air Canada where they confirmed that a flight can be cancelled within 24 hrs (at this point the 26th hour) through the booking site (Expedia). Let's just say it has been 48 hrs of back and forth... lie after lie... and they are just now agreeing that they made a mistake, but are only willing to cancel 1 flight on 1 itinerary (I have 2). Why would I only want 1 itinerary to be cancelled?! Complete waste of time and money. No one at Expedia knows what they are doing. They are money hungry thieves. Stay far, far away. Use another booking site, better yet, an actual travel agent! You have completely disgusted me Expedia, after one too many trips booked with you, I am DONE!

I booked two nights hotel via Expedia.ca and cancelled it immediately after booking as I found better deal somewhere else. The cancellation was done way before the deadline of getting full refund. I had also received an email from Expedia.ca confirming my cancellation and full refunds. However, I found that I was charged for the hotel cost. When I called Expedia.ca to complain about the charge, it took me one and a half hours talking to the third person who promised to give me a refund (I have to check if I receive the refund or not tomorrow). It is a pain in the $#*! that I have to forward them the email they sent me and sent them my credit card charge item... it appears that they don't have any records of customer's cancellation on their system. I will definitely avoid them next time.
Scheduled our vacation 4 months in advance. 5 days before the departure date we got a call that Expedia has changed the date and time of our flights (Both ways!) and you can't appeal because you had to check the "I agree with terms and conditions" checkbox at purchase time. No explanation or compensation. This is what it is! Just the cliche "we regret to hear that..." response!
Don't ever book anything with this company, They will charge you US funds even when you book in Canada.As for refunds, they will rip you off big time. I an still waiting for my refund from 3 months ago. Never again!
We have been using Expedia for years. Recently we are trying to use the credit from last year. When we contacted Expedia, the agents spoke English with heavy accent. It was very difficult to understand the instructions. They gave wrong passenger's name and they charge us to correct the problem!
Try to get a password reset lol, by the time it arrives if ever you lost interest. Try to call them, 1hour wait, use option 1 to have then call you back it goes to a busy signal or basically a hang up situation! Try to do anything on their site, a pop-up comes up saying something went wrong? This company is the worst I've ever experienced. I will never spend a dollar with them ever again. They can use my useless points to try to fix their really lame and broken system. It's a complete joke!
Do NOT book anything through Expedia. I made the mistake once and will never again. They completely messed up my flights then offered no help to resolve, I ended up having to buy the same flights they already charged me for directly through the airline so I could actually get on my flight, then when I reached out for a refund from expedia for the original flight they charged me for they've completely disappeared and stopped responding to me. Luckily I have everything in writing (online chat and email) and am currently trying to dispute their charges with my bank! Expedia claims I have not provided them with invoices etc which is not true and I have proof! After they had no more excuses they just stopped responding!
