I've been buying from from ebay for over 20 years and have probably only twice left a negative review.
A seller recently sent me a pair of boots that I paid nearly $50 for. The soles came off right away. I wrote to the seller with a photo of the boots showing the soles had come off. I got no response. I wrote again after 30 days and she told me that it was too late and anyway I must have done something to the boots. I gave her a bad rating and filed a dispute with Paypal. She won because she said I'd modified the product. Without giving me an opportunity to respond, Paypal decided the dispute in her favor. Worse, the feedback I left to warn others was removed. No surprise this woman has a great rating.
I've been in a constant game with eBay. Every time
My item starts to collect bids they suspend my
Account with the hardships of customer service is
Outrageously unprofessional being traded back and forth between representatives and still no solutions. Then when trying to
Delete my information as well as the site I've been
Told there's no option to delete the account. I
Would advise anyone to use this unprofessional site.
Do not use eBay. I recently had an issue with a seller who misrepresented their item. After agreeing to a refund the seller instructed me to purchase tracked shipping outside of eBay, despite it being eBay policy for seller to pay for shipping. The seller did not refund the shipping cost and eBay is allowing this type of behavior. Furthermore, when inquired about what actions could be taken against the seller, eBay has ignored my emails. It was my understanding that eBay had appropriate measures in place to protect both the seller and the buyer, I guess I was wrong. If you run into any scams on eBay, don't expect any help to both get your money back, or penalize the scammer. They seem content to allow this type of behavior.
Ebay used to be great. I remember you could sell and buy just about anything. Customer service did exist in those old days and they did care. Now is non existent and if you happen to get someone they are clearly at the other end of the world. Most of them are poorly trained and don't know anything. Some of them will hang up on you. And then there is the bogus that you are a treat to the platform but they will never explain what it means because it's a lie. Horrible place. Spend your money somewhere else.
Do not order items on eBay as a guest. The item was not ship to my house which I was charged for. I created an account, and the item will not show up in your purchased history. When you go to your email and click on tracking number, provide feedback and/or Money back guarantee, it shows item not found.
Bought.9999 Silver and they charged me tax. I have spoke to 5 different customer service personnel and they all say they are sending my refund. I've been with eBay over 15 years. Certainly not the company they used to be. Be very careful with eBay!
48 hours to answer my case and it's been almost 1 month? The $52 is money they have stolen! I am taxed 13%
I used to order things from Amazon and got used to excellent customer services especially when I need to return things.
But folks, be careful with eBay! There is no live person to talk to you no matter which way you try. EBay uses an artificial agent to chat with you while those "agent" never understands what the issues are. They only give a link where your issues definitely are not listed.
And to return a merchandise, you need to pay for the return fee.
Be alert! Never buy anything that is more than, say, $5 so that you are ready to waste the money.
I have no idea what happened, but I listed my first item and while I was trying to list my second one I received an e-mail from eBay saying that my account represents a threat to their community. I attached a picture of the e-mail. I tried contacting them. Of course no customer service over the phone. So I had to go online and request to message an agent. After I came in contact with the agent, he told me the exact same thing, and told me that there's basically no way they'd re-active my account. If I made a mistake on my listing, I'd expect them to contact me and ask me to fix it and I'd happily to so. This was pretty disappointing as it was my first time trying to sell something online. I'll never use eBay and/or recommend it to anyone again. I guess I can't use it anyway.
When everything goes well, every shop, dealer or product is great.
However, I had 2 issues with Ebay.com.au and twice it ended with them saying: "Sorry the system automatically closed your request so, even though you are right, we can't do anything".
I recommend to avoid Ebay, but if you use it, just hope that nothing goes wrong.
Spent days, not ours, on the phone trying to resolve an issue which was eBay's fault. Incompetent staff and unresponsive supervisors. Nothing like other online websites such as Amazon. Unfortunately, eBay uses PayPal for their transactions and PayPal is even worse to deal with.
I purchased an item costing $300.00 but never received it. EBay customer service doesn't include verbal contact with a live person so I'm left completely in the dark about the scam. It far better to spend the few extra bucks with a reputable company who will stand by their customers when things go wrong.
Ebay tends to protect crooked sellers especially chinese fakes, they remove negative comments and reviews so that the next person comes along and also gets caught out, also you dont get your money back.
There are shortcomings/inadequacies on nearly every eBay page, from listing forms to search capabilities to results pages. As if they just began business a week ago and launched too soon, this company has made leaps and bounds bruising themselves consistently for 20 years now. I would have never imagined seeing policy and site/system changes go so wrong so badly. As if the policy and system decisions are made by children who have never actually used or understood the marketplace or business. Why would I want to include toys in searching for industrial tool parts? They do not allow selecting or de-selecting multiple categories. Major page changes have eliminated security tools and critical sales data. The ability to set buyer performance criteria has never been attempted for items of high value. Would you allow children into Christie's Auction?
I like using Ebay, lots of items at your finger tips without walking, wide selection without needing to track into different real shops.
30 day Money back insurance and the feeling of safety. Pay with Paypal and you get another 150 days (180 from the day you get the item).
Just do not be dumb, if something looks to good to be true and you buy it, expect the worst to arrive at your door.
YOU get nothing for free or for mere pennies in this world.
Sometimes you end up lucky if you buy something cheap.
I have purchased everything from a brand new mattress, fridge freezer, make-up, cheese and wine etc... so far no problems with service or returns as you can involve Ebay or Paypal to sort anything out.
I never buy used just because l see that as gross, l have purchased antique Japanese carvings but never pre-owned clothing, electrics or anything.
Delivery depends on the seller and distance, ball park times are given.
Ebay keeps back (and probably use) my funds even after buyer received my product and left positive feedback. They became dishonest. Not to mention their final fee is way above 20% by now! This was the last time I used them :(
This reviewer has bought hundreds of parts to upgrade and repair Dell and Lenovo laptop computers. Have never had any problem with items purchased. Payment is always via PayPal. Prices are very often better than Amazon Prime, which we also use regularly.
Awful website restricted my account along with family members permanently. They dont respond to questions asked, just gives a borderline automated answer which unhelpful i would go as far to say some of the customer service team are ignorant and rude. Their policies are beyond extreme for sellers buyers can commit fraud and steal but if a seller makes a mistake its a different story
I'm shocked at how ebay treats sellers that have been with ebay for 15 years or more. Also, when you speak to representatives (none of them from the U.S.), they are rude and seem to not understand English well enough to explain what is going on. I first got suspended in Jan. For having one jerk leave lower seller ratings over a $10 book because the post office delivered it late! Even after I gave hi a refund. This is after being a Power SEller for decades. Ebay is horrible now. Stay clear
I don't even really know where to begin, but the gist is that they pulled the "wrong shipping address" BS with me, too, (after having sent more than ten shipments to the same address in the last six months) and I'm still out nearly $70 they said would be refunded.
I also had to pay Twice to ship back my last sell bag, when they never should have issued it in the first place, seeing as they knew they were being acquired days later. They're done responding and several of us seem to have no recourse now for money we're owed. Unbelievable.
Yes, you can easily find anything you need on Ebay. Ive had some troubles with individual sellers, but my overall
Experience is positive. Theres no better site for finding second-hand clothes and gadgets in perfect condition. I
Often order cosmetics and hair products that are not available in my country. It just makes my life easier.
Answer: I would never buy a used car without seeing it in person and having it checked out.
Answer: Ebay is a den of thieves. Even Ebay is evasive on complaints to answers. When looking for items, be sure to be fully informed to what you are shopping and use all that knowledge to cypher the listing, even then have found those that list items to be evasive on answers. Avoid ebay if possible!
Answer: For their own purposes and to protect dishonest sellers. I was once an avid EBay shopper, but now avoid EBay. Buyer protection no longer exists. You buy at your own risk.
Answer: Ebay sells nothing. You are dealing with private sellers. Some are good, some are not. The best way to determine this is to check the feedback. I personally never buy from anyone who has a feedback lower than 90%. 96% is considered bad, by Ebay. Take that with a grain of salt. Ebay management is nuts.
Answer: If you haven't already learned the hard way that Ebay is just pure bullshit when it comes to the sellers rights. When someone wants to send it back for any reason other than it doesn't work as described, you will be footing the bill. Not only will you lose the money you paid to ship it to them, Ebay will offer to provide a return label for them at your expense. Yep, that's right. They will bill you the price of the label if you don't provide it. Either way, you are paying for it to get back to you. It's get better. You can't leave negative feedback for the buyer either. It's not an option NO MATTER
Answer: Not to me! It's my main shopping tool! I look for good deals and free shipping!
Answer: Yes. You are right. All what people told you are correct. Don't trust ebay and the seller on ebay. Amazon much better than them. But anyway the best way to buy electronics from the local stores or official stores.
Answer: This depends on the seller of the item - carefully check their feedback and trust you intuition if you have doubts try another seller you feel safer with...
Answer: Hi Tom, As for reviews, you don't get them. It's called feedback. When you buy an item, the seller will probably leave feedback after you leave feedback for them. I hope that answers your question. Nancy
Answer: Depends on the seller. I wouldn't buy anything off ebay because there a crappy company.
eBay has a rating of 1.7 stars from 3,486 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with eBay most frequently mention customer service, negative feedback and credit card. eBay ranks 179th among Auction sites.
