First time user of eBay. I needed to purchase an item that I could only find on eBay, supposedly they are a proper platform. I created an account with legitimate information and purchased and fully paid for the items ordered. Within the day I receive an email with an order cancellation notice without explanation. When logging into my account it mentions that my account is now suspended. I start the eBay chat and ask for clarification which they are not willing to provide. They write that I might get my money back or that otherwise I should start a dispute with my own bank. Before I can even reply they close the chat so that I cannot respond anymore. So to sum up, saying it is no longer their problem and I can just sort everything out myself and find a way to get my money back. Absolutely ridiculous. Will never ever use eBay again, horrible customer service and have never experienced anything like this with any other selling platform.
Even in cases of extreme unfairness, misrepresentation, and in this case, craziness, eBay refuses to stand behind a 24 year eBay veteran with 100% feedback and would not remove a negative that was so glaringly inappropriate despite how distressed I was to receive this. They allow a seller to have a no returns accepted listing, and yet a buyer is allowed to return an item for any reason whatsoever which goes against their own policy and if you don't cave into the demand and end up with a negative feedback they will never help you. So essentially they allow you to be blackmailed.
EBay is a great company. I have always had a good day with eBay. Their products are great and they always deliver. I have been with eBay for about two years now and have, again, always been super satisfied.
EBay money back guarantee is fraud. I bought an item from a Seller truehabit. And they sent me defective item when asked for return shipping label. They never sent me and insisted me to send the coat paying from own pocket for return shipping fee. When I talked with eBay customer service agents. They all of them were working in best interest of seller. Even they removed my feedback from seller website. Shame on eBay
This platform is for the buyer not for the sellers you have to argue with them to get money back from listings that never sold or were even bid on the way they gouge their sellers and restrict their accounts without valid reason causes sellers to lose income I am a seller on ebay and the platform sucks because it's for the buyers not the sellers I've only been selling on there for a month and have lost 1000+ in income since mid February and they take money from your personal bank account when ever they please to they carefully caused my bank account to go into 116.00 negative over the past week And they think people won't sue them but In reality people already have especially sellers that lost I come because they sided with a buyer stay away at all costs if u have yo sell something they charge u out of the wazoo if u end an auction early or if a buyer asks u to cancel they don't get charged we sellers do they ripped me off yesterday and didn't give me my money that totalled 200 that canceled. Stay away use another buy and sell platform stay away from ebay at all costs
I agree with Laura, eBay is great for buying collectibles but as a seller I was burned by a buyer. I have 100% positive with 4,000 transactions over 20 years but eBay let a buyer scam me and return a damaged item. EBay charged my credit card which I disputed and won. They have now sent a collections agency after me. That's no way to treat a long time top member.
I've been a member for about twenty years, and despite a few problems in the recent past, ebay is becoming worse. Now ebay is taxing even nonbusiness listings (items). Import charges emerged about a year ago, which is ridiculous.
This is aside the sudden rise in shipping fees, which makes it so actually traveling to go pick stuff up is becoming cheaper. I've decided to stop collecting band merch because of the shipping fees-$20 for a shirt? Then add both an import charge along with taxes...
Also: I don't know if this is only happening to me or to others also, but I've suddenly been told by ebay that my bank details needed updating-This just after two recent purchases; Now my money from an item I've just sold is being held up until the end of this month.
As is required, there was a 30$ fee for my 200$ sale (way too much). The money ebay was supposed to send to my account was roughly 160$, so why is there a message telling me they are sending 130? They are stealing my money and there is no effective way to contact anyone about the issue. Will never use ebay again.
EBay has gotten horrible over the years. I have been selling and buying on there for 19 years now. The last four or five months they have made miscalculations with shipping costs to a point that they're basically charging the buyer nothing and overcharging the seller. This is happened to me four times in the last few months and never before that. They charge you a selling fee on the product and shipping. So for instance yesterday on a very cheap item that I'm not even going to bother to list anything like that ever again because it's not worth the time the shipping cost s were $3.90 and eBay charge the buyer $1.26. All of my dimensions and calculations for shipping have been put into the eBay calculator correctly on all of these issues. The past ones once I called up eBay they reimbursed me the difference of the shipping error and admitted that it was their fault. Since they've done that in the past I assumed they were going to do it again and shipped out the item to the buyer yesterday and now they will not make up the difference. I wouldn't mind if it was an item that I was making money on but this was basically a giveaway something I had listed for $7.99 that I got an offer for $5.00 and accepted it. After eBay takes their percentage that leaves me with a couple dollars which was what they miscalculated on the shipping. So eBay made money and the buyer got the item and I am in the negative after they're selling fees. I have had to spend close to 2 hours on the phone yesterday and today to try to resolve this and they will not resolve it. They have lost a customer of 19 years over about $2.50. Very poor customer service. Even after talking to a supervisor this could not be fixed.
I have tried over and over to upload a picture of the transaction but the file is too big and I cannot see to get it smaller

$#*!s only care about $$$. Their policy is seller can only cancel orders. Bull$#*! ebay has the power to cancel it
I bought 5 items off eBay and three arrived and two have not. When I filed a complaint with EBay they immediately message me back saying they are not responsible. Funny when I did my MBA courts usually hold the guy taking the money accountable to ensure the other party provides the product. So I'm filing in small claims court in Canada there judges don't like it when a large company profits off of working people considering they charged my card and took their money and didn't make sure the seller sent the product. Do not use EBay they don't care and are working with criminals committing fraud.
Below are two orders that mysteriously were shipped on December 21 other orders shipped on the 23 made it here and I even tried to cancel one order and get my money back EBay told me to try and work out a deal. So even when you cancel a deal EBay won't refund your money.
I sold an item on eBay and UPS damaged it. To make matters worse eBay chose to still charge me seller fees of $970.53 as compensation for helping the buyer out. UPS is returning the item to me after they pay to fix it and eBay is still getting their money out of me. This company will screw sellers over…don't trust them…don't sell with them!
I purchased many jewellery items from eBay. Their customer service are the best. They always address my issues with knowledge and effectiveness. I rarely bought fake gold most of the sellers that are highly rated are trustworthy. Also, not like Mercari, eBay restricts and closes accounts selling fake items when customers complain.
The buyer chose the delivery method with no tracking abroad. As soon as the item crossed the border, he filed a claim that item was lost. I tracked it down on China post office website, which showed that the item got delivered. Who did eBay side with? The buyer, that's right! EBay forces me to pay a refund to the buyer, despite the proof of delivery. The buyer did exactly the same scam a week ago - eBay did not suspend him. I'm not even allowed to mention the scammer's nickname on eBay. Well, no matter, here will do:
Qinzh-8869 - the scammer.
Apxxuu229pang_9 - his accomplice.
Sellers - beware.
I'm now an ex-EBAY member. With ZERO explanation, my account was "restricted" until I shared way too much personal info - after a PERFECT BUYING record over 10 years. BYE EBAY
After many years with Ebay, I was surprised to find my funds on hold for 1 month. They looked into it and confirmed the client was happy with the goods, but decided to continue with the hold anyway.
Goods between UK and Ireland attract no duty charges if under €150 yet ebay charges import/customs fees on all transaction, illegal profiteering that needs investigated
Complimenti!
I was sold a product on eBay and afterwards, find out that the warranty is not valid where I live. Can't get a refund and eBay have shown little interest in supporting me. I would recommend people look elsewhere to purchase things.
I bought a passenger side mirror for a Dodge pickup it wasn't the right size now the company that sold it took it right back refunded the money and they say it would be back to me refunded back to me in 3 days. But here we are let's see here we are eight days later and I can't talk to a human eBay the automated system is even rude. So if we return and expect your cash back or whatever you paid with how do you pay don't trust their 3 days I'm still waiting I'm still waiting to try to talk to somebody so anybody from eBay reading this y'all sobs need to give me my damn money cuz it's the first of the month I'm older man I got to pay bills there's no reason why I shouldn't have it you go online and I you look where I bought bought it from there's the department the money's there it's been refunded give it to me!

Answer: I would never buy a used car without seeing it in person and having it checked out.
Answer: Ebay is a den of thieves. Even Ebay is evasive on complaints to answers. When looking for items, be sure to be fully informed to what you are shopping and use all that knowledge to cypher the listing, even then have found those that list items to be evasive on answers. Avoid ebay if possible!
Answer: For their own purposes and to protect dishonest sellers. I was once an avid EBay shopper, but now avoid EBay. Buyer protection no longer exists. You buy at your own risk.
Answer: Ebay sells nothing. You are dealing with private sellers. Some are good, some are not. The best way to determine this is to check the feedback. I personally never buy from anyone who has a feedback lower than 90%. 96% is considered bad, by Ebay. Take that with a grain of salt. Ebay management is nuts.
Answer: If you haven't already learned the hard way that Ebay is just pure bullshit when it comes to the sellers rights. When someone wants to send it back for any reason other than it doesn't work as described, you will be footing the bill. Not only will you lose the money you paid to ship it to them, Ebay will offer to provide a return label for them at your expense. Yep, that's right. They will bill you the price of the label if you don't provide it. Either way, you are paying for it to get back to you. It's get better. You can't leave negative feedback for the buyer either. It's not an option NO MATTER
Answer: Not to me! It's my main shopping tool! I look for good deals and free shipping!
Answer: Yes. You are right. All what people told you are correct. Don't trust ebay and the seller on ebay. Amazon much better than them. But anyway the best way to buy electronics from the local stores or official stores.
Answer: This depends on the seller of the item - carefully check their feedback and trust you intuition if you have doubts try another seller you feel safer with...
Answer: Hi Tom, As for reviews, you don't get them. It's called feedback. When you buy an item, the seller will probably leave feedback after you leave feedback for them. I hope that answers your question. Nancy
Answer: Depends on the seller. I wouldn't buy anything off ebay because there a crappy company.
