I created an account to sale a single item and immediately received a to-good-to-be-true direct offer by a new user with zero reviews. After accepting the offer and invoicing the buyer, I immediately received emails asking me to email pictures and text my Venmo for payment... an obvious scammer. I notified eBay that I suspected fraud, but never received a response. After a very convoluted process to cancel the sale because of non-payment, I posted the item again. This time it went to auction and in the finals moments before the auction closed, a new user again made a winning bid and requested that I communicate with them outside of eBay. I notified eBay again that I suspected fraud and had to cancel the sale again. After several weeks of headaches and attempts to be scammed, I finally just accepted a low offer from a user with several good reviews and shipped my item to them the next day. Payment was received and eBay took their fees. Two months later I get an email from eBay saying: "We wanted to let you know that your eBay account has been permanently suspended because of activity that we believe was putting the eBay community at risk. We understand that this must be frustrating, but this decision was not made lightly and it's important that we keep our marketplace safe for everyone." This cryptic, vague response and action is laughable given my attempts to let them know that other users were trying to scam me. It certainly makes it an easy decision to never use eBay again. This experience convinced me that it's now an easy platform for scammers. Good luck to anyone using the platform as a new user that doesn't have multiple five star reviews. I'm nearly certain you will be a target of scammers without any response or help from eBay and then eBay will eventually turn around and suspend you for being a target of fraud.
I experienced horrible service from ebay and I will never, ever use them again to purchase anything. During check out they did not ask for verification of where to ship the package and now it's being shipped to an old address. Trying to corrct this just after purchase is a nightmare. Thought I did correct it and even have a screen shot, but they ignore customers and it's still going to the correct address. May be why there is no phone number to call them. They know they provide horrible service.
The way that eBay handles dispute is great and always gets resolved other sites like Amazon should learn by example
I sold an item and I was getting ready to ship it until I saw the shipping and handling cost and it didn't seem right. So I contacted eBay and let them know that this doesn't seem right. It's too low but they claim that they know what they're doing and it should be accurate. And I shouldn't have any issues with the post office so I go to mail it and they tell me that the $6 that they charge the person at purchase my product but really it was supposed to be $25 and that's what I had to pay out of my pocket at the post office in order to send us. Then I contacted him to explain to them what's going on and they claim on their side. It says that the product is over 100 lb. So why do they charge the customer only $6 for shipping and handling when it says on their end that the product is like 100 lb. Really it's not 100 pounds. It's more like 15 to 20 lb. It's just a handheld gaming system. That's how inaccurate they are. They do not know what they are doing. It's better to sell from other places. I sold something for $450 and they build me $67. This place is a rip off. They do not care about your service which I mean customer service. They have none and that's the reason why this place has such a low rating. There's other places that you could sell your product way faster than this piece of s*** company
Hold after hold suspension on account sellers have no voice and get screwed constantly. They have become a crapy platform to sell on. I've been selling on eBay for 10 years im definitely finding a new platform
The ebay seller fees on selling a item is outrageous no wonder why all the products are high price on eBay because sellers are trying to cover their fees really said they charge so much to sell your personal items thank God for social media platforms.
EBay is not the same anymore, a couple of years ago I use to find very good deals on eBay, but the last 3 years All I See is Chinese vendors misleading customers. For Ex: I'm looking for e leather pumps and I found a couple that I liked but when you look at the real description of the item it is described as synthetic material while the post says LEATHER! How can they get away with this?
And there is no way to filter these vendor even if you choose Only North America or US! They are EVERYWHERE!...I was wondering if the Chinese bought eBay too?!
I have been using ebay for about two months, selling products I don't want anymore like a fountain pen, a watch and some wallets. They suddenly suspended and after calling several times they failed to give me a valid explanation as to why they did it. My parents' accounts have also been suspended and I have no clue why because we have not done anything wrong.
I hate Ebay with the passion of 1 billion burning suns. I had 100% positive feedback and no problems. They suspended my account for no reason and now they are holding my money indefinitely. Three months on they still have not released payment. I have no idea how they have not had their pants suit off them. Buying on eBay is great. Selling absolutely sucks. Get ready to get robbed if you sell.
I left a review on how I thought the seller fees on an item I sold was a little pricey. Two days later my account was suspended indefinitely with no explanation. Now the proceeds from the item I sold are on hold for 60-72 days! I've been given several different reasons on why my funds are on hold that long. To make sure there is no issue with the item. Another was to verify my account which was done upfront. Sent docs in to verify my identity and was told they would still be on hold and this is just Ebays policy. Never again! I will be selling and purchasing on Amazon.
To start I made my ebay account wensday sold a glass bottle Thursday shipped item on that Friday. Saturday I get a message from ebay I got permanently banned from ebay. So I call because I followed all rules added tracking number everything. Talked to 6 people all which pretty much said they did not see anything wrong but could not tell me what I was banned for because it was against there policy and would endanger ebay community. Which makes no sense considering they said I had no claims against me was done by there higher ups ok but I did nothing wrong. At this point I got hung up on every time because I asked to speak to higher up people. The would say won't help then hang up. No money I made for shipping the item is on hold and items shipped and my account is locked no longer ever allowed to use ebay. This is the most worthless company I've had the pleasure of dealing with and they have the worst business practices and policy's. I'll go back to offer up and cl ebay can suck it and lost out on a ton of old collectibles I have to sell.
Bought a service and maintenance record book for BMW 3 series for a visiting relative on the 15th of Jan 2023. Delivery date was estimated between 22th Jan 2023 and 6th of Feb 2023. Payment was made, seller promptly send a message that item is on the way. 7th Feb 2023 I messaged the seller through eBay. I asked for a tracking number as I have not received the item. I was informed the following - Hello, We send with confirmation on delivery scanning, the item stated this on purchase. Joules-.their should still be a reference or tracking number, how else will they know what package is for what customer and seller. I asked the seller about this and was told that the add of the item stated the postage details and I accepted it. I went and had a another look at the adds and is stated no where. - made a screen shot as well. 3 emails later I contacted eBay through their report service for not receiving and item. Ticketed open and I put in my complain. No option to add the screen shots. The seller ros.joan told a tableland lie to eBay,com saying I never contact them (We have had no messages from this buyer chasing the item and have just pulled the tracking details) after I have 3 emails previously TO ros.joan and after I was told their is NO tracking number. Ros.joan is a blatant and shameless lair. I send another email after this saying they are lair and I want my money back... the response is I can have a refund ros.joan can have their Item back - (if we refund, we would like our item back, fairs fair unless you are scamming us. Joules.) Well since this is a item that needs a signature on delivery and and their is NO signature from me it is clear I do not have it, typical try to reverse the situation and make me the bad guy trying to implicate I and the scammer. Luckily eBay keeps record of the mils between seller and buyer and I have them and made screen shots that is attached here proving ros.joan is a liar. Also eBay does not have an option to further this complaint and /or respond to eBay about the seller's response so cant not send them the screen shots showing ros.joan is a lair. Only option is to close the case. I will not.
I sold over 60 some items to from two eBay to their customers in the past 30 days. I've been paid on three of those items. All the items have reached their destination that has been some that want to refunds it's like every fourth person wants a refund. From my item eBay allows them to get that refund but eBay has not paid me for any of the items except for three out of 62. They won't me to pay it out of my checking account to cover the reimbursements which I have not been paid for yet. Then they told me they've only take 30 cent out of my checking account to cover a fee to refund the person that has my item already and they supposed to send it back to me. So I did well they lied. They took the full amount out of my checking account which caused the overdraft charge. You cannot get an answer from eBay at all for anything. They pass you around about 18 different people and they eventually end up hanging up on you because they can't give you an answer on why your accounts locked so they lock your account and drain you for fees after fees after fees until eventually I guess it's going to be gone. That's what they're trying to do. I think they're in cahoots with the customers because it makes sense for them to. Have a refund issue because they get paid three times for one item and you never get the item back. Or if you do get it back it comes back broken or something's wrong with it. They will not hold their self accountable for anything. They have my money and an account which they will not let me have. So if I refund a person I have to pay for it out of my own checking account when I haven't even been paid for that purchase yet doesn't make sense they're bunch of thieves they're a bunch of liars and thieves and I can't wait for them to go under I think that's what's happening now they know they're fixing to file bankruptcy so they're trying to do everything they can to cook their books. To make it look good so you can try to sell it to somebody else. They're a bunch of scammers and they allow that to happen on their site also. And the customer that you sell to I think they're in on it too. Some of them cuz it's every fourth person I had an issue with. I hope they get what they got coming soon I have proof I'm filing police reports against every single person I sold to and have not been paid for. And also eBay for stealing my items I suggest everybody to do the same thing
Okay, just to let everybody know I was trying to buy a vehicle off eBay, there are literally dozens of scammers, selling vehicles and robbing people, it's happened to me, I've told Ebay about this they're not willing to do anything because for them it's good business but for the customer is not, I guess they don't care, I've reported quite a few scams now but they don't seem to do anything. Scammers open multiple accounts even business accounts and sell vehicles that they don't have, and their excuses is it's a classified ad, so we can't do anything for the customer, but for the scammer they do plenty, they let them upload beautiful pictures of fake vehicles, nice description, they even let them open business accounts so they can get their quids in. Well I'll be posting this type of review all over social media. Oh and another thing. Once this happens, the banks are on their side as well i.e. Santander and Lloyds the two that I know, the two that always advertise,
Were here to help, especially Lloyds.
I told Lloyds in time they said the money was pending, It was the weekend by Monday instead of putting a hold on the money, they let it go. It's a disgrace, but I'm spreading the word.
I purchased a pack of Genuine Philips Sonicare C3 Premium Plaque Toothbrush Heads. What I got was an opened package with four fake heads. I did a search and found at least (5) FIVE negative reviews stating that the heads are FAKE. Whether or not those reviewers submitted complaints or not isn't the issue. EBay has a duty to ensure, of all things, FAKES are not allowed, not tolerated. This is gross negligence. Isn't that what buyers rely on you to do at a minimum: spot FAKES and eliminate crooked sellers. If this was not investigated in the first instance, eBay is complicit in the sale of FAKE items. I want a refund and a FREE package of what I ordered, the genuine product in an unopened package.
I sold on eBay for years and it was really good and I made decent money for myself and eBay. I stopped selling because too many fees and new policies. I recently I thought I would try selling some items that are collectible. I opened a new account and I listed my items, I got an offer, and accepted the offer. Now I remember why I stopped years ago selling on eBay, High fees and now eBay has put a hold on my funds that I need to ship out the item that sold. I ended the other listings, tried cancelling the item that sold and refund the money to the buyer (however eBay will not let me do that because eBay has a hold of the funds that the buyer paid). I do not have access to the funds. Sellers and buyers eBay is all about taking your money and have poor customer service-as I tried calling to speak to customer service about the matter to try to resolve this; however, eBay customer service hung up on me. Very poor business eBay is and I plan on reporting them to the Federal Trade Commission.
Ebay is holding my funds hostage, wont resume payments until I have sent in an accceptable (to them) photo ID, I submitted my photo ID issued when I retired from the military, when that wasnt good, a tech finally called me back said it was unacceptable, gave me some acceptable including that they do accept the ID cars that illegal aliens get from CBP. Unreal, I do much better on Amazon and Walmart for 3rd party sales so clock is ticking, been with ebay since the late 90s. Why don't they recognize retired photo ID cards from military DoD? Another example of extreme woke leftest political hacks I guess. So long ebay
8 months ago I got a counter offer on one of products, I accepted it, just like all the past counter offers that never materialized and I was paid for but I was charged the sell fee, I researched it and I found out all these counter offers are new accounts just opened a day of two before and it was deleted, I called Ebay and yold them there is something wrong it is either done Ebay to generate false sell charges because it doesn't make sense why these people open the account for one day or two order merchandise and never pay for it, Ebay immediately deactivated my account and removed all my listing which took me weeks of work to post it, and when I called them to relist it again and told them what I think happen they said sorry we can't relist it and you have to upload it again, when I signed in again my account was deactivated again. Did this happen to any of you ever?!?!
I recently sold 20 items on Ebay. I was not informed at any stage of the selling process about the horrendous selling fees that Ebay takes these days. That is 12.8% of the selling price + the postage. For internationl selling they charge an extra amount of 1.26% in Europe, and 2.4% in all other countries. Again without informing you at any stage during the set-up process of the ad. So selling outside of Europe, they charge you 15.2% of not only the value of the item, but also the postage, without informing you explicitly. This kind of intransparency is just terrible. Furthermore, they charged me promotion fees for some advertisements that no client had ever seen due to a technical problem or false information about the listing of similar items. Another item that I tried to sell during christmas time, the buyer didn´t pay. Although the terms and conditions of Ebay say clearly that making a bid is a legally binding contract, they did nothing about it. After taking all that money! I had to relist the item after christmas and sold it for 44 GBP less. What a disaster has Ebay become! They used to be good in the past...:-(
No proper policy for seller, they have no relation with shipping agencies. Shipping agencies are loosing packages and eBay is taking money from seller with extra fees.
Answer: I would never buy a used car without seeing it in person and having it checked out.
Answer: Ebay is a den of thieves. Even Ebay is evasive on complaints to answers. When looking for items, be sure to be fully informed to what you are shopping and use all that knowledge to cypher the listing, even then have found those that list items to be evasive on answers. Avoid ebay if possible!
Answer: For their own purposes and to protect dishonest sellers. I was once an avid EBay shopper, but now avoid EBay. Buyer protection no longer exists. You buy at your own risk.
Answer: Ebay sells nothing. You are dealing with private sellers. Some are good, some are not. The best way to determine this is to check the feedback. I personally never buy from anyone who has a feedback lower than 90%. 96% is considered bad, by Ebay. Take that with a grain of salt. Ebay management is nuts.
Answer: If you haven't already learned the hard way that Ebay is just pure bullshit when it comes to the sellers rights. When someone wants to send it back for any reason other than it doesn't work as described, you will be footing the bill. Not only will you lose the money you paid to ship it to them, Ebay will offer to provide a return label for them at your expense. Yep, that's right. They will bill you the price of the label if you don't provide it. Either way, you are paying for it to get back to you. It's get better. You can't leave negative feedback for the buyer either. It's not an option NO MATTER
Answer: Not to me! It's my main shopping tool! I look for good deals and free shipping!
Answer: Yes. You are right. All what people told you are correct. Don't trust ebay and the seller on ebay. Amazon much better than them. But anyway the best way to buy electronics from the local stores or official stores.
Answer: This depends on the seller of the item - carefully check their feedback and trust you intuition if you have doubts try another seller you feel safer with...
Answer: Hi Tom, As for reviews, you don't get them. It's called feedback. When you buy an item, the seller will probably leave feedback after you leave feedback for them. I hope that answers your question. Nancy
Answer: Depends on the seller. I wouldn't buy anything off ebay because there a crappy company.
Buy and sell electronics, cars, fashion apparel, collectibles, sporting goods, digital cameras, baby items, coupons, and everything else on eBay, the world's online marketplace
