I've been a very active eBay member for 16 years and was recently the victim of a scam that cost me $755.00. I always believed that eBay and PayPal protected buyers from this type of conduct but boy was I wrong. EBay did absolutely nothing about it after I fought for over two weeks for action. After I became frustrated with the lack of assistance I went to PayPal with a similar result. EBay now refuses to do anything since PayPal was involved. Would be nice to know that up front but it appears that's all part of the plan. To add insult to injury, eBay refuses to post my negative feedback on the sellers profile thereby leaving other ebayers to fall prey to the same scam. Please be mindful when using this platform and do NOT do business with Rebuilt Engines for Less out of Florida.
You play Hell as a seller getting through to an actual LIVE Person when you need to, they underestimate shipping cost and YOU as a seller have to foot out of pocket bills. STUPIDEST SET UP I'VE EVER SEEN IN A SITE WHERE THEY GET PAID BECAUSE OF YOU! NEED'S A MAJOR OVERHAUL, AND EBAY NEEDS TO STOP BEING SO CHEAP AND EMPLOY PEOPLE TO TALK TO YOU WHEN PROBLEMS OCCUR. SPENT TWO DAYS OF TALKING TO NOT ONE GOTDAMN PERSON ONLY A STUPID AXX MACHINE WHO DON'T UNDERSTAND PROPER ENGLISH HALF THE TIME. THEN WHEN EBAY DOES CALL YOU BACK THERE'S NO ONE ON THEIR END BUT YET THEY SAY THEY CALLED YOU! STUPIDEST WEBSITE I'VE EVER DEALT WITH! I HAVE AROUND $300,000 WORTH OF SPROTING CARDS, KEEP PRESSING YOUR LUCK WITH ME EPLAY AND SEE HOW FAST I SHUT MY ACCOUNT DOWN, TRY ME GO AHEAD!
PISSED CUSTOMER! NOW SITEJAB WANT'S ME TO ADD A RECEIPT AND I'M A SELLER NOT A BUYER! ANOTHER STUPID SITE.
My husband purchased a Frigidaire water filter from padd68 and the seller advertised 4 of these items and we only received one item. The ad was deceptive advertising and Ebay defended this type of deceptive advertising. Very unprofessional and deceptive advertising!
Fwd: samwo-46 sent a message about 1 -4PCS For Frigdaire WF3CB Pure Source 3 Refrigerator Water Filter WHITE #*******306
Bought.9999 Silver and they charged me tax. I have spoke to 5 different customer service personnel and they all say they are sending my refund. I've been with eBay over 15 years. Certainly not the company they used to be. Be very careful with eBay!
48 hours to answer my case and it's been almost 1 month? The $52 is money they have stolen! I am taxed 13%
Ebay is now officially a scam. Customer service is non existent and nearly impossible to find. This company will make it so time consuming and miserable with dead ends and endless searches to speak with an agent that they hope you'll give up and call it a write off. My son ordered a $180 tool. The wrong tool. I caught it and 10 minutes after he put the order in I requested a refund. The seller denied the refund and then didn't ship the tool. After 3 hrs of multiple attempts at contacting eBay I never did actually speak with an agent and have yet to hear back from them. I was shocked at how extremely shady this went down. I was completely taken advantage of and it will be an absolute last resort for me if ever to return as a buyer. I recommend against making purchases from ebay.
Although it is true you can buy things from eBay and most of them arrive. EBay will not have your back in the case anything goes wrong. If you order something that turns out to be defective or does not even arrive. EBay will say sucks for you loser and laugh about it. Ok, ok that's not what they actually said but essentially.
Ok back up lets start from the begging with my experience, I went on to eBay and I ordered a laptop from Best Buy through eBay. The laptop arrived. But it was defective the keyboard was broken and the battery died way to fast to be usable. You had to use an external keyboard and always be plugged in to the outlet. So I contact the seller they said I could not return the computer. I opened a return through eBay and went to return the item but got a notification that my return was canceled. And I had a suspicious login. Totally not suspicious after Best Buy Told me I could not return the item. So what do I do? I contact eBay where they say they cannot do anything that if I want to return I can use the tacking number already provided but I will not get my money back. They said they would not stand behind the purchase. I asked for a manager witch then was very rude and said they would do nothing. I opened a dispute with my bank and to this day eBay is still fighting it. So what have we learned hear? Never Buy from eBay or Best Buy. … Well, unless you like to loose money but its usually a good idea to save your money.
Most of the time, I have had no issues. Lately, I have had several issues.
So, if you need help from customer service, tough out of luck...
Either, the customer service representative did not read my whole message, or he has no idea where my country is or what OUTSIDE OF THE UNITED STATES EVEN MEANS...
So, if you are forwarding outside of the USA, you may get a refund, but you will still loose all other expenses. If you do not get a refund from seller for a bad/different product, you will loose both cost plus all additional expenses...
We were selling a 100% AUTHENTIC purse for like 600 bucks. (These purses are worth between 3-5 thousand dollars a piece.) we get a buyer, they buy it and we ship it. Then, eBay some how, with their stupid authenticity system that clearly does not work, sends it back to us, AND CHARGES US 75$, just to send it back in a white bag with the name "EBay" on it. Terrible. I hope other bidding sights get more attention rather than the silly multibillion dollar company they call EBay. I don't recommend this site.
If you have an issue as a seller with eBay. Firstly they don't care because they only care about buyers for some reason dispute the rip off fees they charge. Secondly the customer service is terrible they have no experience of how eBay actually works. Don't bother calling them it would be a waste of your time, they resolve NOTHING. And Thirdly they know their time as top dog is fading fast, lots of alternatives to use now.
Was charged for an purchase, the seller deleted the item right after payment went thrue. Took my money and never received my item. Can't prove my purchase because the seller deleted item... stick to trusted sites...
EBay staffs are so lazy and cheating. I sell my laptop on eBay but buyer cheats me. Buyer said the laptop was not good and want return and refund. I agreed. But after buyer got some money back he suddenly said he did not want return again. I told he if he liked my laptop, he needed cancelling his requirement of refund and return. But buyer disappeared. I immediately reported to eBay for help in 2nd day. But eBay staffs pretend working hard and asked me negotiated with buyer. With time passed, even eBay staff refund fully to buyer without noticing me. At end, eBay staff insisted on eBay gave me some money and the case closed. The buyer cheated my AU$400, eBay just gave back me AU$3.48. EBay is so bad.
Ordered a cake pan on March 21st with delivery date of March 24th. The item never arrived. Tried to contact customer service on the phone but there is no live person to talk to. The recording directs you to the website where you have to jump through hoops to chat. That goes away as well as soon as you report a missing item so you're left wondering what happens next. The most frustrating and infuriating first and the last experience. I just want my money back and will never deal with that company again.
Let's talk about how eBay is factor for inflated prices, eBay takes 12.9% +, along with TAX when you make a sale, that means to make money you need to add around 20% from the original price you want to sell it for, this creates an inflation of prices, it is really sad and disgusting! EBay's in the business for scalpers, purely, that is their money maker! I recently sold something for $1600 and only recieved $1298 for it, that means they too $302 on top of my purchase around 20%...
The protection for sellers is low to nothing, you should be able to list items as "no refund" and let it be exactly that, this causes too many scams, i sold 12 pairs of shoes as a "no refund" item, i had around $2,000 worth of shoes there, it sold for $400, shipping was $111, when the customer recieved the item, he claimed they were fake, i told him no way because i had the authentic receipts for the LV shoes and nike shoes... knowing i didn't want to pay for shipping, i refunded him shipping costs. He then back door and sold them for more with the "ebay authentic " shoe label on them. I reported him to ebay for scamming. You should not be able to falsly claim something is fake, and then go around and sell it with a ebay authentic label. That is the type of behavior you get at ebay. I did not care about the shoes, i could have sold them separately but i wanted them gone, i needed to make space, it is the principle of the matter.
Ebay has no accountability measures.
I have a constant battle with ebay removing my listings, blocking my account because ebay don't know their own rules for trading. I've be banned for selling in countries I don't sell to many times. Banned for selling restricted products despite being an approved seller for these products. Banned for selling items which are not allowed to be sold on ebay, even though these products are not mentioned as being banned anywhere in ebays T & C's. You can never speak to a supervisor they always promise to call you back which if I'm lucky happens 1 in 20 calls. Bottom line is they don't care they make too much money and if they piss of or block a seller there is always another one. In time all the good sellers will probably leave ebay and they will just be left with the sellers who simply don't care or just rip customers off.
I bought a transmission from an ebay seller. I wrote to him what car I have and he replied on the ebay platform that it fits my car. The transmission did not fit my car and I asked for a return and refund. There were several options for reasons, from which I chose "doesn't fit". Both the seller and ebay refused the return because I had applied with the reason "wrong size" (for them "does not fit" and "wrong size" are the same thing) and I had to apply with the reason "it is not according to the description". I see that the review, obviously negative, was not published either, probably due to an ebay rule. It didn't matter anymore that the seller misinformed me by telling me that it fits my car. Moreover, an ebay employee, in a chat within ebay, advised me to sell the transmission again on my own.
These folks are not interested in doing anything but stupid quick irrationally suspension of your account when you use the sys correct and then a seller would not - answer color verification or send a signature paged as eBay s said they have if you ask. Well we had previously lost items by delivery driver and never got moneys back cause of tracking said it went here, but went up the st 6 houses got removed weed eater batteries we got empty box - called delivery co they said file with seller he pays In with cheap shipping some ins no answer no help.
Thus new act here and asked seller to cancel in his contact mails for a futon couch from Hong Kong he finally answered after 5 mails asking for signature pages upon delivery says no I ask for refund he said takes hours I contacted eBay and they opened not arrived case showed it to be canceled by him day later I got my account suspended from eBay permanently says putting other eBay users at risk with no way to access my previous sales or see account!. The service should be up to you to remove as a buyer all purchases are paid for first by credit cards now all in their we can't access or trust horrible customer service horrible service customer service horrible *******. Folks use this sys with no real complaints you might be ok, but if you complain and seller complain they just delete your account— f that they are nitwits nitwits nitwits be warned bad buss here!
Not even a 1 star for management and customer service! Waited 1 whole month to release my money for an item that I sold, met the buyer the same day a month ago for collection of this item because it wasn't exactly his property because I met him the funds where held until postage was confirmed. The buyer gave me positive feedback straight away and marked as collected. After speaking with one customer advisor she had told me not to worry she can see its been collected and that I've had no issues in the last 12 years of selling so told me my funds would be with me within 24hours. Ringing back 24 hours later funds still not there, apparently this was denied by ebay when the last adviser tried to release it for me. Speaking with several other advisors over the next few weeks has been manic, no one to tell me why this has happened and nothing they could do to overwrite it, ebay and its payment hold team are a shame to the company what do they even do in their offices if they can't handle my numerous complaints I've raised. I have sold for 12 years I'm not a continuous seller as they always tell me this could be why but I'm a trusted seller with 100 stars so I've been told if you don't sell hundreds a month then your payments are likely to be on hold, unfair and treat differently to other sellers NOT ON. Iam in the process of complaining to the ombudsman because I'm not letting this go I want compensation. £217 to wait a month when I needed this to live is beyond a joke, it's not just £17!
I been an eBay seller for many years and I could never seem to gain any profit with my sales because the fee's are extremely high. If I sell something for $1, I only profit about 25cents after eBay adds on various fees. One for listing, the other for percentage, and one random 30cent fee. In a larger context, if you sale something for $5,000, they charge a "fee" of $750. This company is a rip off for sellers. I do not recommend.
Do your best to avoid this site. Sellers are not vetted and product descriptions are purposefully misleading to get you to purchase. I will never use this site again. They are wild wild west of sales. No guarantees.
Ebay has a habit of removing listings for items that have clear pictures and receipts posted, ebay deletes them claiming they are counterfit. When you call it can take days to get a response. They cannot give you a decent answer for removing the items. They will give you adise on what you have to do to keep it from happening and when you do what they tell you to do they will still remove your listings. In one week they removed 26 of my Authentic listings that had receipts posted. Then they tell you if you repost them (ever) your account will be suspended. Ebay has become a very very very bad place to sell your items on. SELLERS BEWARE!
Answer: I would never buy a used car without seeing it in person and having it checked out.
Answer: Ebay is a den of thieves. Even Ebay is evasive on complaints to answers. When looking for items, be sure to be fully informed to what you are shopping and use all that knowledge to cypher the listing, even then have found those that list items to be evasive on answers. Avoid ebay if possible!
Answer: For their own purposes and to protect dishonest sellers. I was once an avid EBay shopper, but now avoid EBay. Buyer protection no longer exists. You buy at your own risk.
Answer: Ebay sells nothing. You are dealing with private sellers. Some are good, some are not. The best way to determine this is to check the feedback. I personally never buy from anyone who has a feedback lower than 90%. 96% is considered bad, by Ebay. Take that with a grain of salt. Ebay management is nuts.
Answer: If you haven't already learned the hard way that Ebay is just pure bullshit when it comes to the sellers rights. When someone wants to send it back for any reason other than it doesn't work as described, you will be footing the bill. Not only will you lose the money you paid to ship it to them, Ebay will offer to provide a return label for them at your expense. Yep, that's right. They will bill you the price of the label if you don't provide it. Either way, you are paying for it to get back to you. It's get better. You can't leave negative feedback for the buyer either. It's not an option NO MATTER
Answer: Not to me! It's my main shopping tool! I look for good deals and free shipping!
Answer: Yes. You are right. All what people told you are correct. Don't trust ebay and the seller on ebay. Amazon much better than them. But anyway the best way to buy electronics from the local stores or official stores.
Answer: This depends on the seller of the item - carefully check their feedback and trust you intuition if you have doubts try another seller you feel safer with...
Answer: Hi Tom, As for reviews, you don't get them. It's called feedback. When you buy an item, the seller will probably leave feedback after you leave feedback for them. I hope that answers your question. Nancy
Answer: Depends on the seller. I wouldn't buy anything off ebay because there a crappy company.
