Booked through DoYouSpain for what looked like a great deal — 76 € for 5 days with insurance. When I got to Goldcar Mallorca, I waited an hour and a half in line, only to be met by one of the rudest people I've ever dealt with. She got irritated when I asked why I was being charged more, saying I was "holding up the line." They tried hard to sell extra insurance, and when I refused, they blocked 1 100 € on my card. Then came a 90 € fuel charge for a tiny car that couldn't even hold 60 € of fuel, plus a 35 € airport fee — none of it shown before booking. Feels like a scam from start to finish. I wouldn't recommend Goldcar or DoYouSpain to anyone.

WARNING This company is an absolute scam! I
August 14, 2025

WARNING This company is an absolute scam! I accidentally booked my car rental for August 11th to 14th instead of my intended dates of August 12th to 15th. When I called to fix the error, the representative, Irene👎, was completely unhelpful. She refused to adjust my booking, and to make matters worse, she informed me that if I didn't show up by the 11th, I'd lose the entire reservation. What a ridiculous policy! I was willing to forfeit one day, but losing all three days is outrageous. This kind of unethical behavior and poor customer service is unacceptable, especially for a returning customer. I'll make sure to spread the word about this company's shady practices and warn others to steer clear of this unprofessional operation. I'm done with them for good and will share my experience on other platforms.

They gladly charged my credit card, which was rejected by the car company. My second credit card was also not accepted. No help from "support" at the time of arrival, no refund later, and huge extra cost for an alternative rental. Not even a refund for the insurance I additionally purchased... How many credit cards do you have? Be prepared... Def cant recommend and will never use doyouspain.com again, ever!

Arnaque attention
February 24, 2025

🚨 Arnaque chez Thrifty Rent A Car via DoYouSpain – Expérience catastrophique! 🚨

💥 Aucune solution proposée, me laissant bloqué sans voiture

Do Not Use - Scam
December 4, 2024

I had an extremely frustrating experience with Do You Spain. I booked and paid £480 for a car rental, but due to a flight delay, the rental office was closed by the time I arrived. Despite notifying Do You Spain about the delay in advance, my reservation was canceled without my consent, and no alternative was offered.

The situation worsened when I contacted their call center multiple times, only to be hung up on twice. To date, I have not received a refund, and the car rental company confirmed they never received any payment from Do You Spain. This means Do You Spain is holding onto my £480 for a service I never received.

This level of incompetence and disregard for customers is unacceptable. I strongly advise against using this company—if you value your time and money, look elsewhere. To add to this - they replied to my Trust Pilot saying they are looking into it on 18 Nov - and I am yet to hear anything, and they have been ignoring my emails since August.

Scammers

Starts as a cheap price but after all the add-ons and hoops to jump through like international driving license if from UK, ends up costing more than all the other local car hire companiesI would recommend doing your own research before considering DoYouSpain as they will not offer a refund in any situation!

Werkelijk waar ongelofelijk. Slechtere service is niet denkbaar.

THE WORST car rental company I have ever encoutered! Although the online price seems extremely cheap, it's clearly a trap to lure unsuspected travellers. AFTER the online booking and first NON REFUNDABLE payment, the confirmation email with the voucher informs us about a million more surcharges that differ a lot from the first prices given online. We were forced to pay 33€ in person instead of 11€,the price given online. Also, when the voucher clearly staded "Excess amount: 1,400 €.You can take the SCDW to remove
The excess from our supplier for 28.70 € a day" which was in our case equallivilent to 143,5€ for 5 days, the EXTREMELY RUDE agent charged us 165€ without an explanation. When we complained about the increased prices of the surcharges, the agent even responded 'if you don't like it, don't rent the car. Now make up your mind. Either pay now, or leave cause I have other people to see'. "
To not ruin our holidays even more, we accepted to pay 43,5€ EXTRA of what was originally agreed and only then, when the money would have gone to the company, the agent decided to be more polite and give us directions.
We ended up paying more money for an untrustworthy company, rather than go with valid and secure companies. A mistake we are not gonna make again.
HORRIBLE COMPANY AND AGENTS. STAY AWAY!

August 11th. So much small print it's hard to keep tabs with what's going on. We "rented" with this broker for a car to pick up at Del Paso rentals in Malaga but didn't see the part that said, if you are delayed and fail to meet the car rental place within 2 hours after pick up time, the entire booking will be cancelled and you lose everything. We then had to pay the same again direct with the rental firm. Disgraceful small print. What difference does it make if you are late but still arrive ag the car depot within opening hours. DoYouSpain? I'll go to Spain bit never with this firm.

Abysmal
August 8, 2024

We booked a car for a special trip to see friends, one of who has been diagnosed with cancer. We booked over a week ago. 3 hours before we were due to uplift our car this company cancelled the booking. There are no other rental car options now available and we have non-refundable accommodation booked. We have confirmations of our rental car and insurance to have it cancelled a few hours beforehand is just not acceptable in anyone's realm. DON'T USE THIS AGENCY EVERY!

AVOID - SCAM
August 6, 2024

SCAMMERS - DO NOT USE
If I could, I would give this business a ZERO STAR, ZERO RATING.
I booked and paid for three cars, 5 months in advance. On the day of the arrival at Madrid Airport, our flight was delayed in transit in Munich, a delay of about 90 minutes. Upon arrival in Madrid, we were told by the car rental company (Alamo) that the reservation was held ONLY for 1 hour, and that the rental had been cancelled. Apparently, in the contract that DoYouSpain sends to their customers, there is a fine print in the OTHERS section where it says that they can cancel the reservation after ONLY 1 hour. No refund, no car replacement! This is beyond being crooked and scamming.
After I reached out to the company, some fake name British person answered and said that "I should solve this issue with the airline"! But the airline does not maintain any responsibility for delays of up to 3-6 hours. So, bottom line,
ABSOLUTELY AVOID AND DO NOT USE THESE SCAMMERS

Terrible
August 2, 2024

I rented a car through this platform for the period 19-30.07
The reservation was made for 11:00 p.m. I received the car at 1:20 a.m. on 20.07.
From 07/20 until now, I have sent 10 e-mails and called 15 times without anyone answering.
It's a fraud on the face, you book on the website and pay the taxes plus the insurance in my case 255 Eur when picking up the car I had to pay another 367 Eur [even now I don't know why] plus 118 Eur for fuel as a deposit. I handed the car over on 30.07, clean and with a full tank, and until now I have not received money for fuel and an explanation for the extra amount paid.

Very bad company. I will never rent a car from them again. Don't even look at this company.

I ordered a car online, in Italy, I came to pick it up at the airport, and then they said they didn't have that car and offered another one, twice the price. I refused to rent a car at that price and asked for a refund. I have contacted support numerous times but have never received a refund.

Terrible Service
June 21, 2024

I would not give any stars if possible. This company took our online booking and our money for a booking they could not fulfil. When we arrived to collect the car we were advised that without a flight number the booking could not go ahead. We live in Spain so do not have a flight number. This should have been clarified before they took our money and left us stranded at the airport in the summer season. When speaking to the car hire company at they airport they confirmed this is the fault of 'Doyouspain'! Appalling service, would not recommend!

Don't ever use this broker do you spain. You get scammed. These trust pilot reviews are fake. They make you get an insurance and If you get to the garage, the garage says it has nothing to do with the insurance of do you spain and makes you pay AGAIN for insurance or "4000 euro" caution for a small BMW 1. Look up "Do you spain" and see how many issues there are with this scam company. My initial price of 145 euro would have turned into 250 eur. I cancelled on site and left. Do you think DYS paid me back? You guessed right. More like Do You SCAM!

Don't trust them
April 17, 2024

I booked a car and got the message that the booking did not go through.

I booked again but when I got to Marbesol I had two reservations. Marbesol promised me refund on one. I contacted Doyouspain but the service was horrible. Quite nasty treatment.

I did not receive my refund. They kept my money. It feels like the stole them.

Will never book there again!

Paid in full for my rental though doyouspain arrived at goldcar in Spain and was forced to pay another 250£ which I had to negotiate down from 600 euro for 2 hrs! Doyouspain just left us stranded in the airport with 2 kids and my disabled autistic son. I've basically paid twice for the same car and twice for the insurance.

Dreddful company, hours on hold. Paid to hire car for 3 days plus the insurance never actaully got to hire the car as the car hire company wanted to charge me extra £140 for the insurance that i had actaully already paid for. Did i mention the cost of the car hire and insurmace id already paid totaled £66, yet they wanted extra £140 for different insurance etc theives

No refund on orginal insurance offered, car hire company did not accept amercian express, or my visa revolut card or my lloyds visa card, or my uk bank card or cash.

So not sure how your meant to pay for the extra double insurance, which if you dont take out then the dont give you car, then no refund from youdospain.
