TLDR: The company gave false hopes that they would solve my problems, did nothing until it was too late for the problems to be solved. And took no responsibility for their own actions. This is an untrustworthy company. The risk of getting screwed over is larger the low prices they offer. Customer service calls all took close or more than 10 minutes until someone picks up the phone. The service calls also shut down automatically two times.
Full Story: I had a flight delayed, cancelled and re-scheduled for two days later. After that I called DoYouItaly/DoYouSpain to hold on to my reservation. They tried calling the rental provider and put me on hold, a couple of minutes later they contacted me to say that the provider did not answer the phone, DoYouItaly/DoYouSpain also stated that they were sending an email to the provider to inform them of what happened and ask to retain the vehicle. They also stated they would contact me with more information. I called the provider myself a couple of hours later and they stated that they had no emails from DoYouItaly/DoYouSpain. I called DoYouItaly/DoYouSpain again to inform them of this, they insisted that they had sent the email and that I should wait. At this point they should have understood that something was wrong and tried to contact them directly, but they didn't, they simply sent me their default "We are very sorry that you have had problems with your rental" email and carried on.
Two days later, prior to travelling I called the provider again, and once again they stated that they hadn't received any emails from DoYouItaly/DoYouSpain. I called DoYouItaly/DoYouSpain again to share the news and they started saying that they couldn't help me since the reservation was two days old. After discussing with them they once again put me on hold, this time they managed to contact the provider, but came back to me to state that they wouldn't help me because I called them after the reservation time. Which of course is a last minute excuse since I never asked for the rental to be cancelled, called them shortly after the reservation time and hadn't been told this at any point until this. They continued insisting it was all my fault and that they would not help in any way.
This is not a trustworthy company, if you've made the mistake of renting through them and are going through issues, I suggest you push them to solve it don't trust them to solve your issues.
To avoid! I will never use them again: car booked, paid, but NO car when arrived at airport! NO customer service NO support! NO refund for the extra cost due to Do you Spain, NO explanation
I am sharing my experience with this company to saved you all the hassle I had with them.
On the 30th August-21, I booked and paid a rental car to be collected the 1st Sep at an airport in Spain late afternoon. Followed all the instructions as per email, but when we arrived to the rental company, they did not have any details for my confirmation, it turns out the booking did not exist. Sadly they did not have any car available, we had to use their shuttle bus to go back to the airport; I called Do you Spain, but after over 30 mins waiting, the call terminated. I tried again and the call terminated automatically, without any response. We have not alternative to book a last minute car at the airport. We booked with Europcar and had to pay premium, as it was last minute, and high season, thus a great demand, if that is not enough, the only car available was a Fiat 600 for 3x people and large suitcase!
That night I sent an email to Do you email, but not reply. When I called, two days after I sent an email and no response from their side, and have to wait for a good 25mins in the phone! I was told they will review my case and call me back. After two days, I never received any email or call from them, I have to call them back and once again wait close to 30mins on line. This time, I was informed I will receive the full amount paid with them and I would be entitled to a refund (compensation) for the extra amount I had to pay to rent a new car at the last minute. I sent a new email to DO You Spain with my bank details and the invoice with Europcar (which was provide immediate once I called Europcar). After a couple days, still no payment. Once again I have to call DO you Spain and put on hold, listening to same song again and again for a good 25mins. They told me I need to send my Switf code, one could expect they will either call you or notify about this, but no DO you Spain! Still after a couple days, no sign at all from payment. I had to call them a few more times, send emails, and only after 29 days from my payment, I received my payment and NEVER received an apology from them or explanation why the car I booked was not available. I continued chasing for the compensation. I sent several emails, but DO you Spain never replied, and calling them requires a good 20 or 30mins on hold, and I always get the same answer, they need to discuss it with the manager, but either the manager is away or lunch, they will call me back or email – they never did!. I called every week! It was on the 17th in Nov when they told me they don't do compensation! Apparently is their policy I was told!. The case was closed, but I will never use them again!
