The person at the register ahead of me told the lady that her change was wrong, so then she shorted me for$80, so I asked, she said she was sorry. I walked out not thinking about my girlfriend. I have shopped at this store for years. Could be cleaner, organization has improved, but oh my goodness does the customer service need MAJOR improvement. In the past, I have seen issues, but I just don't know how these employees keep their job. No matter the customer, no matter the situation, you need to show professionalism! Stuff every where I could barely get a shopping cart down the Isles before, now great big containers on every Isles of the store now, its ridiculous always a mess never stocked always out of all kinds of stuff. Every time I go into just about any Dollar General in Tucson Arizona there is always only one person ringing up customers. Only when the line is all through the store does someone choose to help out, they always seem to be someone in the back chatting up a storm. I always feel sorry for that one person that is left to ring up us customers. Policy there needs to change.
Why is that a sign is posted requiring that masks be worn inside the store but the employees don't even wear them. They either have them under their chin or "refuse to wear them because it's their right."

I have been going to a local Dollar General in Port Saint Lucie since it opened. I have seen the turnover of employees, but most have been decent, friendly, say hello upon entering the store Etc. But as of late, there are a couple of rude employees that just seem to get away with their rudeness to customers. The manager needs to step up and do more than writing them up. Especially if there have been previous complaints about the employee. After so many write ups, they need to be fired. Hire people that truly want to work, and are happy to represent Dollar General the way it should be represented.
Almost everything I buy at the new Dollar General store near me is higher priced when you get to the register than the price in the store. I went in a few days ago, bought a gallon of milk, price on shelf said $3.10, it was $3.40 when I went to the register. About 10% above listed price.
Today, 9/22/2020, I stopped and bought a thermometer that had a $7 price on the rack, when I got to the register, it was $9.54 with tax. So the thermometer was $9 before tax, instead of $7, that is almost 30% above listed price.
Their locations are very handy, to get in and get out, but at least be honest and put the actual price on the products, instead of raising the price by 10-30% when you checkout.
It had worked before in this store. When i touched the key pad to enter my phone # to get digital coupon discounts, nothing happened, i just churned. Cashiers said they had nothing to do with that, its all on line. Cashier ran up purchases full price on my credit card. I told them i did not want anything if coupons would not be applied. Had to refund everything, very embarrassing! Will not be back!
Your 1 employee was shopping without a mask then at check out chitchatting with co employ while 4 of us waited in line. Then at checkout employee after shopping had no mask on, she was done with her shift, I asked her where her mask was told me it was DG discretions weather or not to wear a mask. I spent $9 to get a mask so I could go shopping there at Boiling Spring Lakes NC. I followed her to her van & ask her name she refused to give it to me. Huge sign on door no entry without mask! I had an incident 2 years ago where one of their carts hit my brand new car in the parking lot and dented my driver side door. I made repeated calls to customer service which were ignored, so I wrote to the CEO and they were still unwilling to help me and even lied to me on the phone telling me that they had video camera footage (that they would not orovide me a copy of because eit doesn't exist) and they were not responsible. They do not care about the consumer, all they care about is taking your money, but if you ever have a problem that results fom their negligence, they will not help you. An awful company with awful customer service. They should be ashamed of taking advantage of a single mother who faithfully shopped at their stores until this incident. This store manager Monique was extremely rude to me! Her attitude is beyond nasty and she treats customers like crap. She was pissed off that she was the only one working during the hour and decided to take it off on the customers. She was choosing not to serve customers that didn't wear their mask perfectly to her liking. Even those wearing masks were turned away. She decided to call the cops, she is a horrible person. When i did not respond to his request he proceeding to speak to the cashier about how i must be slow and not understand his demand. He then stated oh i understand and spoke to me as if i had a learning disability yelling "Do you need Help?" I again I did not reply just ridiculous to think i should stand closer to him or others checking out during Covid Virus. Quite disrespectful and down right crazy to do while this crisis is happening. I will not be giving my money to this business nor returning again. Employees need to be respectful to what distance to customer is comfortable with, the last person I want to be next to is someone who is exposed to this virus everyday.
I've heard many complaints about burkesville kys dollar store and it's been a while since I went in. All I can say is wow that store has to be the nastiest dollar store I've ever been in. You can't walk for the unstocked merchandise and nothing's where it should be. The floors are so dirty and black which tells me nothing else is being cleaned or wiped down. Corporate needs to come in and clean house at this store because nobody's doing their job. While I was there all 3 workers were outside in frt of the store laughing, smoking having a good ole time. I've heard this same story from so many people. With the corona virus in full swing right now you'd think they would clean their act up.
