This is the worst dollar general EVERRR. The employees are always so rude. The shelves are NEVER stocked. There is always stuff in the isle so you can't get around. Seems like they can't ever keep anyone! I would NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE.
I purchased some Lays potato chips five days ago. I thought they were buy two get one free, but they were buy two get two free. I tried to call the store by the number on the receipt to see if I could come back and get my two bags free and the phone number went to busy signal. If you call the number right now, it comes right to a busy signal. I drove back to the store that night with my receipt trying to get my bags of chips. It was a Friday night. The store manager said that I couldn't use my receipts. I needed to have the bags of chips. I told him I would've known that if the phone had been working. I had the receipt, but he said I needed the bags of chips. He was a bully. I actually wrote into Dollar General website to complain about this and didn't hear a word. Don't go to the Dollar General in Wildwood Florida on 301.
I visited 5 DG stores this week within 7 miles of my house for the first time in about 6 months to purchase some iterms in addition to several sale items. None of the 5 stores had any of the sale items so I did not buy anything. This just reminded me why I have not shopped at DG in a long time. They never have any of the items that they claim to have on sale. The sale ad is just a ploy to get people into the store hoping that they will buy something else. Not me. I did not buy anything.

Cashier's full of drugs and can barely function! Told manager and she said she wasn't smoking crack! I told 6who mentioned crack! She acted like she was high too but she is pregnant! They are always outside smoking! The pregnant manager too!
I worked there for a few days at the DG market. I wasn't trained properly. I scanned boxes on day 1. Day 2 I watched the policies online. Day 3 someone showed me how to open the safe and let me use do the register a few times. I was told I wouldn't be alone for a while until I was trained. Day 4 the schedule has me working alone for 3 hours and closing the store. I wasn't trained to do any of that. So I had to quit. I didn't even know how to turn the lights off or on. It's a horrible company to work for. The staff has a couple of nice people but the women were very unfriendly and cold towards me. It wasn't a good work environment anyway. They throw you to the wolves and play favorites. Beware!

Announced change amount was given, but at home review of prices shown online for same products at that store (which match remembered shelf labels) comes up cheaper (with tax included) than what was paid. Conforms with consensus...Buyer beware.

The gentleman was very helpful and friendly. I like good customer service. While checking out, I hut the wrong face, and thought I hit a smiley face. Sorry about that.

As usual I've been ripped off By dollar general! Not only did the boy Who checked me out lie about My savings being reflected, But when I ask to put my number in so I should be sure to get my number Savings he wouldn't let me, and stated I didn't need to He saw the savings reflected Already... And of course I guess it's my responsibility to make sure I get a receipt!? I was stupefied At the total after being told my discount was applied come to find out I was ripped off For $5.75... Yeah that's not a whole lot but it's enough When you have to put up with rude People that are ripping you off constantly... This company Has nickel dime and dollar'd me Repeatedly Almost every time I go in there there's Manipulation! I would say would be fair to say Through the years they probably taking me for over $60... It feels like A punch in the gut when I know they rip me off and I don't even wanna deal with it cause she'll spend hours and hours and hours and hours and hours talking to rude people And you'll never get your money Back! I think this company should give their customers Extra funds When they have to spend hours on the phone to try to collect money that was outright stolen from them by their employees... They spent all that money to put in self checkouts, then decide that it's too easy to steal so we go to 1 checker 1 checkout stand Why is that all the good people have to face the wrath the the demons. Hello they are not stealing because of self checkouts they are clearly doing the sloppy work of the devil and if you had a brain you could easily stop it but unfortunately you just decided to make us all suffer while your one checkout stand is working with all the customers lining up, they could literally wipe your store out Wake up America save your own souls
Treat employees terribly. This reflects in every aspect of the company. They have yet to realize if you treat employees good, there is better performance overall. They encourage DMs and above to threaten those below continuously.
Be careful of anything you purchase also. Items come in frozen as well as subjected to extreme temperatures which negatively affect the quality, medicines - food - baby food and formula are some good examples. Further, they send food in totes that are never cleaned, therefore items (i.e. Food, medicines, toothpaste, skincare, etc) come in totes that have mold and all kinds of gross in them, not to mention the cross contamination. Fresh foods such as lunchmeats, butter, cheese, yougurt. Keilbasa and so on, are often shipped in totes of water that has been sitting in them from being rained in when people don't flip them over.
I stopped in 2 months ago to get balloons blown up for a gender reveal and was ripped apart for not calling ahead to "give them a heads up." I only needed 5 balloons blown up……I then stopped for a baby shower to get balloons blown up and called 1 week in advance to *make sure it was ok to stop in* I asked to drop the balloons off and pick them up in the morning for the baby shower. The lady who blows up the balloons said the girl who worked the next morning "couldn't tie the balloons." And asked to blow them up right then. The balloons were deflated the next morning! I am appalled by the way they talk to their customers. The gentleman behind the desk is very sarcastic and talks to his customers like they know nothing. I don't see how they are able to keep their positions. I would rate these workers in the negative if I could.
Store ******* is never attended the workers just set outside and smoke cigarettes while shoppers are left inside to find things for them selves and use self check out. The manager when on duty sets in the office and does not come out. I've been disappointed in stores before but this one is by far the worst. They might as well give the jobs to a computer
Stay away from this shop. Many times I have went here and after making a purchase for workers placing chemicals into the same bag as foods. I have mentioned this many times only to be laughed at. If you find your self in Ohio at this store do a fast search there is a family dollar just 3 blocks away. Much cleaner and better staffed.
I was at a Dollar General in Glen St. Mary, Florida and was treated rudely and insulted by the manager after asking if the Christmas Wooden Soldiers were on discount as the sign read 50% off. She appeared to be in a bad mood initially and accused me of being argumentative with the cashier. I had asked initially and was told the discount would show up on the receipt which it did not. I inquired twice and was told that these were not Christmas Ornaments and were not on sale. The manager assumed I spoke Spanish and angrily tried to explain it. I told her to speak to me in English as I am an American and veteran and didn't appreciate her attitude towards me and my wife. I definitely will not be returning to this store again to be mistreated. What happened to "the customer is always right "? No respect from these folks at this store. Recommend you be careful with this staff
Answer: Most of it comes down to the iron fisted payroll. Like 40 asm hours for 2 full time employees. How do you give your asm 20 hours and call that ft!
