Since when does a store not accept money for a purchase? I just left my local Dollar General which I frequent often. I picked up the few items I needed to complete my New Year's Eve and when I got to the cashier I was told they couldn't break a $50. I didn't ask to "break a $50" or "to change a $50. I was trying to pay for items I purchased! I had to home, get a $20, and go back to the store. This is ridiculous. What kind of policy do you have that says your employees aren't supposed to accept money to pay for purchases? UNACCEPTABLE! You must do better! Until today I was pretty satisfied with service at this Dollar Tree but today is really making me think
I was in the store on vivion rd with my nephew that has behavioral issues. He was trying to run out the door before we were finished. I said get back here we don't do this in the store. Well the cashier Leann said to the lady she was helping i wouldn't take him to any store acting like that. I spoke up trying to explain my situation and she said call my manager i don't care. Needless to say i was humiliated. This is not right and it can't keep going on. Very DISSATIFIED customer here.
It's not right to blame workers for stealing any money from the store and they trust you with deposit bag to go to the bank and It's not right to talk down to your workers just because you have a higher ranked and have the workers do your job
11/12
Purchased 3 12 packs of soda pop listed as 3/$12
Purchased Reese's snack packs to reach $7 purchased, to get $2 off.
Paid $25.38
Returned to store Sunday 11/13 to question my total.
Employee went absolutely berserk. Shoving in front of me to go stomping back to the displays, pulling off shelf stickers. Telling me the sale didn't start till 5:00 yesterday. I was purchasing in store at 18:25 or 6:25 EDT. Shouted I had to read the stickers (on the bottom shelf).
I asked to make a photo of the receipt. His shouting caused customers entering the store to turn and leave. I counted over 6 or 7 that did so. During the transaction, a tall man with lighter hair came up behind me and pressed close against me. No ID badge. No shirt logo. He claimed to be the GM. Demanded that I delete my photo. He kept pressing closer. Making demands. I felt threatened. After both of them threatening me. I asked them to ring my items at the prices on their shelves. My total went from $25.38 to $16.97. Employee told me how hard his job was as a third key. He pulled out a white envelope to show me all the shelf stickers. I'm the customer. Do I really need to know what tasks he has. " We have a lot of work," he tells me while four black shirts stand behind the counter chatting, including the GM Dale. With 4 employees on the clock, why is it no one can ever face, dust the merchandise? Why is it the floors are never mopped. I was an emotional wreck when I got to the car. I have NEVER been treated more harshly anywhere. I am asking to speak to someone higher than a district manager. I am looking into possible police and legal action, for the relentless severity of their behavior with possible action against DH for not following PA retail laws governing signage in retail from scamming. You don't put up the Sale signs when the sale doesn't start for several days. Contact with district manager resulted in support of the vengeful employees after a two week wait. Contact to their regional manager resulted in no return communication. I am now in contact with the corporate office. I won't stop until changes are made. DG employees participated in elder abuse, took advantage of my height to intimidate me. Then, spent time to be sure the they had their stories straight. This entire staff should be dismissed. Workers are scarce, but their choice to support this group does not serve them well. I will continue to pursue both charges and legal action against each one of them.
Dallor general in titus Alabama suxs never anything on the shelfs they keep 2 rows of milk but never keep 2 rows tea but yet tea sells more then milk the shelfs are always empty the girl who was there at the start is back and been back for awhile and nothing has changed if you can't keep the shelfs full just close the store and we will just go to Walmart its worth the drive instead walking in one of the worse dallor general so do everyone a favor and get your crap together or just close the store all you higher up get off your ivery tower and do something instead of not giving a crap and collecting a pay check
I was charged $2 for cards that were clearly marked $1 on the back of the card. I was in a hurry and didn't see the sales person closeby so I bought my cards and left without saying anything. There was also a line behind me. Very disappointed in the lack of good deals in the new Crofton store. Won't be back.
My father had an emergency situations in the store and the cashier stated that it's against policy for them to call 911. The attendant declined to answer the phone or dial 911.
I personally like DG now that it has been remodel looks nice not clutter like it use to be I can find what I need. The employees whom are there now in the ASHEVILLE nice an helpful pleasent greeted those whom came in with an SMILE on their face. I rarely see that most stores. Good Job!
The Dollar General on Andrews Avenue in Wilton Manors had this sign in their door.
New manager blonde hair. Wow how unprofessional! I work at the Rehab Ctr few bldgs down.
I was in the Dollar General at 1058 Old Woman Springs Rd. Yucca Valley California. Upon shipping i heard someone yelling at the register i saw a lady that was the manager of the store. She was screaming at her employee about something she didn't do. The employee started crying and the manager continued to holler at her in front of the customer. The manager name was Stacey. Stacey you are very unprofessional and you should be embarrassed. Dollar General you should be ashamed of yourself for having someone like this represent your store. If i could give a zero stars i would. So Unprofessional you definitely lost my busy. I will take else where. I felt so bad for the employee.
Have to wait entirely too long for a cashier to come to the register they want us to use self checkout some items can't be done by self checkout and if I am going to have to work there I want a discount
Most organized and stocked store I've visited in a long time. The manager Lawrence Lynn greeted me and checked me out. His staff was very friendly and were busy setting up displays and putting out stock. Highly recommend.
I go into the Highlands Dollar General periodically in the evening, the same sweet girl is there every time I go. Never an assistant manager or a manager on duty In the evening, that could be very dangerous not having higher up authority there at the store at night time! Not all managers should make their schedule out to please themselves. They should think of employees first.
DG has cut payroll so bad no one can work but salary. It's the corporation BLAME THE CORPORATION. STOP SHOPPING AT DG STOP SUPPORTING THEM. They don't give enough payroll to work employees, but expect one person to run register, work freight, recover store and accept trucks & vendors. Its IGNORANCE AND GREED
Coupon instead of sales, but when you're in the store you can't get connected to the internet. I was told to go sit in the car. Done shopping at this place. Just put the darn stuff for sale
I went to Dollar General to purchase a toy for my grandson. It was advertised in their paper and I was told they never had it. I called two other Dollar Generals in the area only to be told the same thing. I called their cooperate headquarters and left a message to call me back. At approximately 8:45pm on November 25th, they called me back. I was put on hold for over 6 minutes and they hung up. I called back again only to be put on hold and hung up. The third time they called me back and when I got the phone it was the same music for 3 minutes and they hung up. It is terrible how they lie to customers to get them in their store and they have no customer service. Especially when it is a toy for a grandchild.
They have went overboard on their prices. Went there yesterday and bought 2 dozen eggs ( didn't feel like driving to Food Lion)and it was nearly 10 dollars. This time last year, eggs were only about 2.25 a dozen there. Just saying.
They have boxes all over the place. Everything is a mess. I can't find anything. This is a serious issue. The fire Marshall needs to come in. It's dangerous to walk in thus store without something falling on your head. It's a shame because the staff there are so kind. I'm talking about the store on Barbour street in hartford ct. Also they have misleading prices.
I have applied at Dollar General maybe 50 times and have a lot of experience so I'm curious why do you post job openings if you actually never call people and don't tell me that it's just a coincidence that I have slipped through the cracks
Don't bother to download the digital app and try to use the digital coupons. I have faithfully clipped digital coupons before I go to the store. When you put your phone number in at the register it NEVER takes off my coupons or my $5 off $25 on Saturdays. What a waste of time and effort and employees say it is their computer system, nothing the employees can do about it. Love the store hate the digital coupons!
Answer: Most of it comes down to the iron fisted payroll. Like 40 asm hours for 2 full time employees. How do you give your asm 20 hours and call that ft!
Answer: It may be because your location is running out of business or stock on the water, and I still haven't found out on the coupons myself
Answer: Download the DG app. Sign up with your phone number and add coupons to your account. When you check out in store there is a dg coupon button on the pinpad screen. Click the button and put your phone number in.
