I got banned because I said I am a woman who voted for trump. I didn't think it was a bad comment but I would not recommend this site! I think it's who you like. If you say something they don't like or even use exclamation marks they won't post it. Don't waste your time!
I comment regularly on China newsmostly by contributing statistics (which come mostly from sources like the WTO, the CIA, IMF, etc.
My comments are always polite and relevant and Disqus blocks them without permission of the site owners.
When I inform the site owners they apologize and de-block me but often Disqus ignores them.
The situation is so ridiculous that this week Disqus blocked a comment I made on Treehugger.com, an environment site, about handling bees and wasps that are drowning in swim pools!
The main problem with Disqus is that they allow the trolls to overrun a site to annoy the other posters, call them names, and shut down the conversation. Trolls seem to have no life other than to prove how annoying they can be and overwhelm any opposing views.
Since I read a lot of comments from people here claiming that this website often bans or censors conservatives, I want to share why I deleted it. I came across some commenters who have over 30,000 comments, mostly showering liberals with vulgarity. So I made a few comments to them. They weren't nice, also not nearly on the same level as the comments I was responding to. They would get deleted every time. I don't know if individual moderators all have their own weird system for deciding who to censor, but the system needs to be looked at.
I just got banned from a site with no reasoning behind it what so ever. I see things from the most racist remarks to death threats on it. I've done neither of the latter but me simply implying defending celebrity actions like pedophilia/molestation/drugs/etc isn't okay and I get banned. Better yet I know for a fact they IP banned me, can't talk to anyone else nor find out who banned me. So if some $#*! wants to go on a power trip or shut up anyone who doesn't agree with them thats fantastic. I get its their site but the fact you have no way to appeal or find out why its laughably stupid and straight up censorship.
If you read this far, don't go to fmovies they're scum.
All you have to do is to look at the impossibility of trying to find out why you were banned from Disquis, To realize that its like dealing with the Nazi party. All someone has to do is to flag you because they dont like your opinion and if they are conservative, then you are banned, with no recourse.
If there is a class action suit against them then please let me know because I will contribute and join
Disqus was embedded in Breitbart and many other platforms. When Disqus didn't like comments that didn't fit with their libtard ideology and realised they couldn't control (censor) them anymore, Disqus removed itself from these bulletin boards. What a hateful approach to life.
As soon as you try to mention zionist globalists and their nwo secret societies you get banned. Disqus is just a speech censoring website that promotes nwo zionism by protecting it from criticism but doesn't mind discussion about jihad and death cults.
There are a lot of hosting sites out there. They succeed or fail by being reliable platforms for peoples views and opinions without jading the input or censoring the output. It is their reliability as a forum that makes them useful. Imagine the Roman Forum policed by guys with truncheons?
Disqus has failed in this basic requirement. It skews what you can see and censors what is provided.
They are shadowbanning and marking as spam political viewpoints they don't agree with. They are intellectual children whose ideas cannot stand up to any debate. They need to be sued out of existence, but they have that Google money so they will continue to perpetuate a false narrative echo chamber until the US Constitution is completely undermined at the behest of their Globalist Masters. I just found out not only are some of my comments across various sites such as The Hill shadowbanned, but my last 20 comments over the course of several months were all removed as "Spam". My comments were not spam they were political debate. Pathetic. This is cowardice manifest.
Recently on $#*!ute and other free speech platforms, comments with certain words have been "held for moderation" for the website owner. The problem is that they aren't really being held for moderation. Instead, Disqus is automatically removing comments without the website's consent based on how they feel fit. The moderation team of $#*!ute would never and has never asked for these comments to be censored. Please, do not use Disqus. Disqus has partnered with Google. Having a company this vile own your comment section is not worth the convenience.
Disqus makes you sign in over and over at each site it purports to manage. The sign ins don't work. The email verification pages don't work. Disqus doesn't do what it says it will. Just more inept garbage clogging up the internet.
Disqus has been a great resource for those who follow the TOS- until recently.
It is now deleting posts that express sourced opinions with which some anonymous person does not agree.
Googling "Disqus" and "censorship" or "Disqus" and "complaints" suggests this is a problem of a scope that would interest an investigative reporter. Conciliatory requests for explanations are met with silence.
My opinion of this resource is now a 180 as a result of this lack of transparency.
I quit using discus. They only allow radical right views. If you state something contrary to their mind thought, they go after you personally, when I read something, and want to say something, and when it's Disqus, I just don't bother.
A couple of times I have had posts that were removed. The first one was a conservative political viewpoint with no curse words, no name calling and it was removed. The second review was removed because I quoted a celebrity's opinion on women. Instead of using the B word which rhymes with itch that the celebrity used, I put 2 asterisks in the place of a couple of the letters in the B word. That got my comment removed. One of my "followers" turns out to be one of the Disqus moderators.
I googled a suspicious number that called and left a comment on this site. It immediately connected to my facebook, posted my name, etc. and I never joined. Now I cannot unjoin because it will not send me a link to reset password, has stolen my personal info and there is NO ONE to email to get help. STAY AWAY, total scam.
I love this time you can write on the different cites you can agree or disagree or agree to what is said. You can see what others say and agree or disagree to what they say but you can get a incite on what others think about different subjects you can also win prizes. I am not sure when the prizes are delivered to those who win but they do win for what is said there voted on. Brenda carlton
Horrid site. Anyone who actually wants stimulating discussions-whether liberal or conservative (or independent like me) - AVOID this site. The "owners" of the site will only hear what their myopic little brains can handle- then you are banned.
WASTE of TIME!
The typical Disqus channel moderator strictly limits the spectrum of acceptable opinion, allowing only lively debate within that spectrum. That gives people the sense that there's free thinking going on, while all the time the presuppositions of the system are being reinforced by the limits put on the range of the debate
I began using disquis a few months ago, I gave very good comments and got a lot of good conversations with others, nothing bad. But i noticed if you get too deep on a subject they don't like apparently they hold your comments or like me delete your account! So i see they like drama and dont care about people having clean conversations. Yet someone else can type vulgar language and comments, nothing happens. Hate disquis good riddens you frauds
Answer: I believe our posts get removed and we get banned, even called retards from moderators--of whom you would think would act more like the referee and not the instigator--because each discussion has an agenda. As long as you go along with what everyone else who is still in the discussion is saying, you are fine. However, dare express an alternate opinion--of which you may not even realize you are doing--you are told you are trolling (which means you are purposely writing something meant to cause disruption). Therefore as a troll, your post is removed. If you then ask why your post was deleted, you are now called a retard and are banned from the discussion entirely. And when you become confused as to what just happened for no reason, especially after a moderator who uplifted several of your opinions disagreed with one and simply deleted it, you finally find someone in Disquis management. It is then you are told to take it up with the moderator who banned you or another moderator on the page. You are also told the moderators have free-run to delete anything and ban anyone they want to and that management WILL NOT step in or interfere with a moderator's decision, even if that moderator is belittling you and is cursing at you. Finally, if you decide to appeal to another moderator thinking you will get a rational response, you are told you "threatened" the moderator who banned you because you went to management. Then are you threatened with getting banned completely off of Disquis for life? It's as simple and as ignorant as that!
Answer: Obviously for the majority of reasons sited here! Thanks for the good news!
Answer: This question is not a well formed question. It's about net locations, IP and MAC addresses, logins and emails. You can't force someone to use their name. If such a standard was imposed, people would merely make up fake names. Better to just let them have the random anonymized handles they prefer. Do you know how risky it is to post online with your real identity? There is no limit to data retention with many of these companies online. As the major data brokers continue to consolidate and violate privacy with indefinite data retention, you'll see everything you've ever done online, one day in a central repository of data. In the US we're seeing a beta test roll out of something similar to the chinese people rating programs, taxing dissidents, denying participations of citizens if they don't agree with government, etc. The better question is why can't we be completely anonymous, and why does Disqus need to track and record our IP addresses?
Answer: Disqus is an awful company from kalifornia. They hate free speech
Answer: Because this site is run by a bunch of closed minded left wing liberals. I they do not agree with your posts... you will be blocked.
Disqus has a rating of 1.2 stars from 216 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Disqus most frequently mention free speech, abc news and conservative views. Disqus ranks 496th among Social Network sites.
