Whatever you do, DO NOT get direct tv! It's like you stepped back 30 yrs. In time! TERRIBLE service with antiquated graphics/technology! Also, tricked into 2 year contract through AT&T bundle, with a cancellation penalty of $470! Direct is so bad that we will pay the cancellation just to get out!
When I went to switch to Directv from Dish, they offered me a $200 Visa to pay off contract, or last bill with Dish. It would take 4 to 8 weeks to receive the card. My end of contract cost was $240. The bank would auto withdraw the amount on the next billing cycle. I did not want to go thru any hassle with the bank, and Dish, so I cancelled the Directv installation. Directv was very nice about it.
DIRECTV can't get their s*** together. Three different channels I wanted to watch today were unavailable because contracts had expired. It would be different if this weren't a common place event. Sort out your business dealings. Doing anything else shows you have zero regard for your customers. This has everything to do with corporate profits at the expense of customers. 1 star, only because zero is not an option. Do not recommend.
I have been a customer over 20 years and my bill is almost 200. Once they merged with ATT it got even worse. Their customer service is okay but when I call to question why my bill is so high and I don't have a premium package all I ever get is well those are for new customers only
My review will probably never get past this point, but here it goes. This company has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Forget talking to a human if you have complaints or issues to address. I foresee them going out of business due to more ability to stream and the ease of obtaining it. I would never recommend them even to my worst enemy.
We have been DirecTV customers for many years and the price continues to increase and the number of channels continues to decrease. Spoke to Scott in the Loyalty program when our price went up again and was offered a discount still higher than our previous price. Was advised no person or manager at DirecTV could speak to me or offer a better deal. Very unprofessional and not very pleasant. We are finally forced to cancel our service to look for a better deal and hopefully a provider who values a loyal customer.
Dish's primary marketing now is "no hidden charges!" to address DirecTV's notorious deluge of hidden charges. They advertise $19.99/month, but in order to get that rate, you'll have to pay an additional $30/month in hidden upgrade charges -- they charge for HD, they charge for DVR service, they charge for additional boxes, etc. It's too bad it's so mismanaged because the service and apps are great, but the company is so shady and sales driven that Dish could easily pull ahead.
Raised prices after 1st year but you're stuck, cuz you signed a contract. Needless to say, I disconnected and sent back their overpriced receiver. Don't pay their illegal termination fees. Who wants the same TV provider for two years these days? Not me! Hopefully companies like these will go the way of the dinosaur.
We've had Directv since 2012 and I've had enough of the constant increases and nothing but the same shows on every day. Also, good luck trying to access your account statements online or getting an actual person to help you. I called today and they want to bill me for canceling before our contract expires in 13 months. They renewed my contract when lightning hit our box and I didn't even know anything about a renewal. It would have been nice to know, but not surprised. I am paying this early termination fee just to be done with them. They are a sinking ship.
2 months seven technician calls at least 50 hours on the phone. Incompetent lip service is what we get. Watching a report on a tornado service interrupted can not see the report watch half a movie picture disapppears so it reappears 20 minutes later oops missed the middle. Company doesn't care just keeps doing nothing. Talk to the Philip ones with people flipping note book pages dogs howling but nothing but band aids. 7th tech coming today what we talked about three days ago is not even in the system. STAY AWAY
Photo is only one of many error screens
All about money but not service
Over 45 minutes on call to get technician to fix tv
Rep could barely speak english and asked same question numerous times. Asked for supervisor and she ignored request. We will be cancelling service. Takes a lot to get me angry but "Lexi" succeeded. If she said" I'm so sorry"one more time i think i would have exploded. Its all a big scam to create problem with your tv so they can sell you 8.99 a month protection plan. Again Direct tv loss is a win for Spectrum
If you cancel DIRECTV make sure they really cancel it! I canceled DirecTV. Got another bill the following month. They gave me a bunch of bull crap lines about why. Come to find out account was still open. No refund! They could not admit their mistake!
We have a 2 bedroom apartment and in the furthest bedroom (mine), we keep losing the signal. We bought a new box and also a booster. Nothing has changed. We even bought a new tv!
It seems if a tv in the other rooms is turned off or on, the signal goes off.
To get anyone to come out and check problem it's going to cost us $99.00. It's your problem, not ours.
I miss my XFinity. My husband won't change because you're cheaper.
Just saying, had issues years ago with satellite and now with wireless.
I was induced to sign up by a promised $200 credit card. I just spent over an hour talking to three reps who each had a different story about why I didn't get it. They do not impress for candor or fair dealing. The service is not first class; it is frequently unresponsive and difficult to use. I can't wait until the end of my subscription, with the hope that they go out of business earlier..
Service totally sucks. For the past 4 weeks it keeps dropping reception. Not just once a day either. Since 6am this morning we have lost reception 5 times. Guess we'll be going to spectrum. This is ridiculous, they raised our rate and the service went to hell.
Beware of a "Regional Sports Fee" that Directv attachs to packages. You will pay this illegally charged fee weather you want it or not! Folks, you are getting ripped off! Good case for a class action lawsuit.
Our box overheated - we spoke with 4 different. People over a 2 week time. The last call gave us 4-6 week time before we could get a tech out to help - this wait even though we've had Direct TV for over 25 years and pay extra each month for timely service. Wtf?
Today, I was told by Direct TV my service was turned on automatically because I suspended the service 6 month ago. Now there a $230.00, bill that was automatically generated due to company policies. DirecTV is stealing money from hard working people. I'm speaking with the Supervisor supervisor that's telling me that he cannot do anything of that $230 bill Even though services were never used he still needs to go with policy and the multimillion dollar directv needs to charge hard working people for services they did not render. Anybody out there please go with someone else directv is sucking and malepionary how much they charge for cable television. It's better to get the apps and just use Internet.
While service was decent their billing has always been terrible. Only negative hit on my credit because I was trying to dispute getting double charged for services when I was in college. Used them up till 2020 with multiple billing issues and finally got rid of them. Get a bill in mail mid 2022 for something that was already paid. Paid it so my credit didn't get another hit instead of fighting them again and loosing an battle I wouldn't have won. Will never go back to them and hope they go under sooner than later
Three technician appts made, nobody showed. Thirty+ channels not working. Called customer service more than ten times, multiple online chats. Problem was escalated multiple times, I'm told something different every time I call, from "there is no technician available," to "your appointment was not approved," to "we guarantee the technician will call you." The technician who guaranteed someone would be here was Richard. I called back after waiting 3 hours for his call, was told they didn't know anyone named Richard. I am out of patience, and I want this problem fixed!
Answer: I saw a ad on a mailing paper for some really decent pricing but it was all a scam you do not get the pricing that were on the paper
Answer: It is a scam 100%. Just read the reviews. You don't realize it until they got your money and you need something! They are holding peoples money from them that doesn't belong to them. They may even tell you you'll get it back. Just keep waiting, you wont. Then you have to call back and go through the entire process again. I'm on 6 weeks now/Overdraft fees/No Thanksgiving/ and I have photo proof I cancelled 2 days before my free trial was up. They just didn't want me to cancel! Lol. They do things different here. You have been WARNED my friends!
Answer: Doesn't matter since they ignore the discrepancy once they have you under contract. No wonder their rating is so poor!
DirecTV has a rating of 1.3 stars from 472 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with DirecTV most frequently mention customer service, phone call and billing cycle. DirecTV ranks 54th among Cable Television sites.
