I cancelled my service after 10 plus years. I then returned the equipment a month prior to them requiring it back. They then charged me for the equipment, not giving me any reason why. I called multiple times and each time a CSR would place me on hold and never return back. Now the crap company has reported this fee against my credit. I highly recommend never signing up with this company.
I had Dish for 14 years and wish I never left them. Direct TV is the worst service I have ever received from a company. They charge you for every single thing. It's very difficult to get to a live agent, when the chat box says Monday - Sunday 8-6 CST, and it's Saturday at 3:30 and it says all the agents have gone for the day. Unfortunately I had to check check one start, but would have rather checked none. I would never recommend this company.
Direct TV expects people to set everything up on there own. It's way to difficult and many seniors are clueless. If you call to get a service rep for assistance the phone call is another whole problem getting someone to talk to. So we have a kit and know clue how to install it. I will probably have to send it back and pay the $500 fee. Please inform people you know that you have to do everything yourself and stay away from Direct TV
A simple request do not contact me about special promotions. It is an easy request, however Directtv does not understand this request. They call me at work to with promotions, and then when you tell them not to make channels active they do it anyway so the can charge you more for your monthly service. WORLDS worst company around.
Long story short version. Was with company for 22 years literally and I never never never received thee right amount of bill the representatives said I would pay. After promotions and misleading information I finally closed/left these con artists as of 2/10/2022. I'm free I'm free I'm free never will they get another 298.00 out of me or $179.00 when the original bill was supposed to $99.00…. I have proof…
Absolutely the worst service, customer service and business. I had directv a few years ago. The account was closed and settled with a collections agency. I had At&t and directv bundled together at one point. I went to add a line to my at&t wireless plan, via customer service agent, who was successful in adding the line. She needed my bank account information for some reason, and was assured that I would not be charged any money from this account. One day later and I had a charge of over $700, that after 2 days and hours on the phone, came from direct tv. No notification of these charges. Now, directv has denied my claim for a refund twice, and again, I was not notified about the denial. I dont know what kind of business does not notify their customers about anything. SO essentially, directv has stolen over $700 from me, and is trying to justify it. Absolutely disgusted.
No company is going to give away their product, but having tried other rv services over the years, I find that, for me, this is where I'm staying. Of coarse the longer your with a company, I find, the more leverage you have.
Censoring OAN, and Now Newsmax will bankrupt AT&T. All true patriots need to cancel their Directv and AT&T accounts immediately! I left Direct several years back because of Wokeness!

We had tried this company for our motorhome with a great satellite on top of it and it sucked. Now that they're getting political I am so glad we dropped them and will never go back. I hope they go out of business
As I write this review I am on my 4th phone call and still on hold trying to open a new account...these employees are the worst trained I have ever dealt with. After not being able to complete the on line application I am told to call a number, which I did (still on hold 47 minutes later), they need to verify my credit, after giving my SS# 4 times, they call the bureau while I am on hold, approve my credit, and tell me they need the credit check one more time. Ridiculous...she know states she wants 3 credit bureaus and I'm 820 plus...UNREAL. Good luck Direct TV. You wont be around much longer.
I was watching Game Show Network a couple of days ago on DirecTV, and they suddenly took it off, along with Cooking Channel! I wonder if they're having carriage disputes or something! If they don't fix it, I'm switching to another provider!
The quality of the streaming is good, and I would rate Directv higher except for their customer service. Just one week after installation, the Directv remote for our main tv quit working, I called customer service and the lady tried hard to get it fixed, but without success. So, she stated they would mail us a new remote, which would take a few days to arrive. That was two weeks ago and we still don't have it. I called a few days later and was told it was on the way, but it still isn't here. Fortunately, I was able to fix the problem myself by changing the batteries (although the ones in the remote were new and tested good). Still, it irritates me that they could not almost immediately replace a device that had quit working!
If you can understand the tech person, it's no indication that they understand you. It's extra frustrating when they always start off by telling you to check your cables. Then reset the receiver. Then they blame the weather. They raise prices after they tell you that you're locked in at a certain price. We have to call them every month to remind them when we get our bill. We recently replaced our dvr and our remote. We've been having problems ever since. And now they want to charge us for a service call. Is it possible that they are actually worse than Spectrum?
I can not tell you how bad this company is in words.At least not clean words. They used to be good until AT&t bought them. Now you need to run unless you like exercises in futility. Horrible customer service!
I have been a 15 year customer with DirecTV company. My service has not changed since new owners (AT&T). The reliability, customer service, and installation crew are 5 stars. Customer service employees have solved problems without hassle! Thank you!
Today, 12/3/2021, my Roku got an update of the DirectTV app. Looks OK but quickly found their Software Designers, Programmers and QA is so bad that the Guide does not roll over anymore. Sorted Alphabetically and at the A's and need to get to the Z's, don't go up like you used to. It stops at the "Top", like there should or ever was a "Top". Now, you will need to scroll very slowly through 100 channels to get to the bottom. Ridiculous. Please put this moronic company out of our misery.
My father passed away. We paid his last bill and wrote on it "Deceased. We won't be paying any more bills from you". In the meantime I had been trying to turn the equipment in. No one within a 60 mile radius will take it. They refused to send a prepaid box to mail it back. They kept telling me to return it to places I had already been. Who refused to take it. They are still billing us. Good luck with that. Threw the equipment in the trash. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!
I have nothing but trouble with Direct TV customer service. Exam your monthly bill carefully…. They will add a charges that not supposed to be there. You waited hour to talked to customer service. They tell you that they will remove charges but never did. AT&T are the worse company to do business with. They don't care about their customers. Their Representatives all foreigners. You cannot understand them. Horrible
I had the worst experience with AT&T Direct Tv company do to lack of customer Service including with supervisor. I was requesting Pro-rated Service Credit refund since I cancel my service before next billing cicle. The Company charged me the full month of service. I was a loyal customer never missed a payment, making payments over $200 a month. This company are thief, instead of helping people to save money they steal. I will not recommend this company to no one. Horrible Company.
I am not real happy with their service. I live out in a rural area, so satellite is the only option for cable. They are very high priced for not real good service. And if it is even barely raining, the service goes out. No way would I ever even think of purchasing a pay per view of anything, because the satellite will drop at least once a day for no apparent reason.

Answer: It is a scam 100%. Just read the reviews. You don't realize it until they got your money and you need something! They are holding peoples money from them that doesn't belong to them. They may even tell you you'll get it back. Just keep waiting, you wont. Then you have to call back and go through the entire process again. I'm on 6 weeks now/Overdraft fees/No Thanksgiving/ and I have photo proof I cancelled 2 days before my free trial was up. They just didn't want me to cancel! Lol. They do things different here. You have been WARNED my friends!
