Directv is the only satellite/cable service provider we've had since we bought our house in 1991. We've had it for about 17 years. Was great in the beginning, however they've increased our bill every month over the years. Several time I've spoken to them about the unjust increase. They decrease it for 5-6 months, then it goes up again tremendously. We shouldn't be paying $260/month bec I've deleted channels to decrease our cost. Years ago I signed up for paperless billing, I've reminded them several times, and to this day I NEVER get monthly billing emails. I desperately need better satellite/cable AND even internet (bec it's yet same situation with Verizon!) providers!
Moving and canceled service. After 4 phone calls and 60 days still haven't received our refund, which they say will be a prepaid Mastercard. Why they can't simple refund in my payment method is beyond me. Now they say it will be another 14-20 days before we receive the PP-card. Every time I call I'm told something different. Because of this extremely poor service we will not subscribe to DirectTV again. This situation is beyond frustrating.
The rep literally had me on hold for 45minutes because I wanted to cancel my service. She kept giving me the run around and saying that department was busy! This service is far too expensive compared to streaming elsewhere! They refuse to remove the dish from your home as well! Terrible customer service
We have been loyal customers for 23 years and all of a sudden our channels disappeared. I called them repeatly... with people who did not understand and did not know how to help but reboot. Finally we told after three months that we needed upgraded equipment. In the last three months we got one channel and paid full price... they would not back down and would not take any charges off. I am done with them. They are not a good company and they DO NOT CARE about their customers. Oh they act nice as candy but listen to what they are saying... nothing helpful... disgusted.
Been a customer since 2015. Finally did a upgrade after I originally was going to cancel the service. Was told/promised that my bill would not change or be affected. To my surprise it did. After being on the phone with them for 6 months in a row I'm confident that my last day with directv will be in March 2024
Hubby called to cancel. Saving 100.00 by going to you tube tv.
He waited on hold a half hour to get a rep. Then hr spent the next 25 min trying to get rep to cancel. The rep would not take no for an answer. He kept trying to push deals. Then he hung up on Hubby. Hubby had to call back again to verify it was cx. Tell them you are getting rid of tvs so they will cx faster. Can't use it if u don't have tvs lol
I've never signed up for direct tv but had someone else apparently do it and I asked them to send doc's on the sign up but still hasnt and sent me to collections. Worst ever company. I'd rather watch youtube. I would give negative stars if I could.
Waiting for Direct tv to answer the calls is crazy last time it took them 1 hour and 40 minutes today I got to 50 minutes and hanged up can't even get someone on the phone it's crazy switching back to xfinity I can't belive Direct tv and last person I spoke too a few weeks ago screamed at me and my husband and told us to shut up I asked if he could talk to us politely he said no and if we didn't like it he can hang up and we could wait in line again.
Been with them since the nineties. Each year the service & billing, personnel get worse.
Now this time around with customer service was the last straw. Are these folks Chinese or what? They don't hardly speak English & interupt every time you try too talk. Also tired of them saying they can't hear me & punching the buttons too make a beeping sound,Also both departments said I could not speak with a supervisor. 82 yrs old.Too old too put up with this any more.
A lighting strike damage our satellite boxes. They scheduled a technician to be here between 12 and 4 pm. At 12:15 Brandon was in our house,he replaced the boxes and checked all our connections to ensure nothing else was damaged. He was friendly and attentive. Job well done and thanks to Direct TV for the early response.
Joseph was the name of the technician that came to install our equipment. Very nice person, lots of knowledge and very friendly. Answer all our questions. Thanks Joseph
Direct tvs over advertising is the cause of the Mass Exodus of its customers. And yet they steadily increase the amount of advertising sold. Coupled with miserable customer service it's NO surprise their programming has been severely affected.
Do better Direct TV, or AT&T whoever the hell you claim to be now.
Just terrible customer service. They connected a service that was not requested and then continued to send me equipment and charge me after I told them that I had not requested it. I thought we finally resolved it, after I had to go through the hassle of returning equipment I didn't ask for, but then, I keep getting emails that they are reconnecting me! Then I have to call back again and every call is a 10 min plus hold time and then often you will be disconnected before you speak with anyone. It has sucked up hours of my life and is very irritating. Avoid ATT if possible!
Problem with satellite began on may 21, unable to get service call until may 27. Waited 4 hours to realize that service date was changed without notification to may 28. Waited for 4 hours called to see where service man was? Was informed that he was at the house which was a lie. Service man described house, never rang door bell, texted or knocked on door. I am now waiting again for him since 1230. Has not arrived. Direct tv is fine if there is no problem. I would not recommend to anyone due to poor service.

I would rate the company a negative 0.
Continued and ongoing loss of signal and problems getting service. Techs have been out multiple times over the past year. Works for a few weeks then doesn't. I spend more time on the phone, climbing over furniture and trying to connect. The phone bank you call is horrible. I haven't had service in weeks and asked for a credit on the $300 a month bill. Nope. Agrumentative. I was against the AT&T purchase, it has been a disaster. At&T lost millions of customers since it purchased Directv.
I have been trying to get my Directv service moved from PA to NC. I have come to believe that is now impossible. I have been working on if for weeks and am still no closer to getting it installed than I was at the beginning. First time the guy showed way outside of the window. So then it had to be rescheduled. I repeated it over and over, I have no equipment, you need to bring everything. The guy showed last week and of course, brought no equipment. So he tells me what to ask for to get the installation set up again. I do this last week as soon he tells me and set it up for today. This time, no call, no show, no email. So I have to call at least 3 different times to get someone who knows anything or doesn't hang up on me. They finally tell me we have to set up a new account instead of moving the old one since I have no equipment! The same thing I told them repeatedly b4. Supposedly they are coming tomorrow with all new equipment to install. We will see. I am betting it doesn't happen.
After over a decade of service on auto-pay, Direct TV sent me a bill for $242.49, claiming it was past due. I tried to call the company. Their electronic system did not offer me the opportunity to speak to a representative, but instead reported the amount due and asked how much of that I wanted to pay. I had no way to speak to a representative, so I changed my credit card to avoid future billing, sent Direct TV a cancellation notice, and purchased YouTube TV (which is terrific thus far). Direct TV turned my "past due" bill to "Credence," their collection agency. Their agents called me repeatedly, speaking in extreme broken English. I was certain they were a scamming organization, and perhaps they are. My message, stay as far from Direct TV as you possibly can and encourage others to do so as well.
So Ive had directv for a while, i recently moved and had alot of questions to ask before my move. First did they cover the area. What the charge on moving location? Do that change my bill? Etc. When i asked customer service my question the ensure me that the transition was easy and it should affect my service/bill and any way. I was happy to that it was not going to be a headache! Once the move happened and as of today its been a real pain. Not only did they jack my bill up but they lied and tried to have my pay for whole new equipment fee. I immediately called and reiterated the conversation to the rep of what was told to me just 3 day prior. When i was on auto pay these at&t directv company was taking extra money her and there. Today it was confirmed they put me in contract, jacks the bill up every 2 months. Can Not offer any better package for the one cable service i have. They did not honor their owe sale pitch. Just a COMPLETELY WASTED my time!
DO Not get DirecTV! The rating is a minus 10 between 1 & 5! Unfortunately where I live we cannot get cable or Internet services. So, whe got DirecTV. Huge mistake! First of all you have to sign an agreement, which I do not mind, if you get the service they promised you. It did/has not happened. Three months into our agreement our signal is out again. We are once again waiting for a service technician to come out. When you call to talk to some one from another country that you cannot understand a word they are saying. Our country have gone to Hell! AGAIN DO NOT GET DIRECTV!
When you finally decide that you have had enough of AT&T and DirecTv and you call to cancel, get ready it's quite the ride. They will send you to the "customer loyalty department" where they will make you a great offer to stay with them. The problem comes in when you get the next bill and it doesn't match what they have agreed to. Then the whole cycle starts all over again. If I went into detail, I'd end up writing a book. Just beware as the truth is a moving target. I changed to YouTube TV for $65 a month including all the sports channels and you know what? It doesn't go out when it rains...
My mom had signed up for directv through one of their offers and after really crappy service where we live she decided to switch back to brighthouse and was told she had to pay a cancellation fee of $397 which she had paid $50 of it and sent in another $50 recently. Sometime between the time she had sent the second 50 dollar check in and today 4/9/2015 they took out the remaining $349 causing her to be overdrawn on her account. They will not refund her the $349 they took out so now she is broke because of their greed! AVOID directv at all costs!
Answer: I saw a ad on a mailing paper for some really decent pricing but it was all a scam you do not get the pricing that were on the paper
Answer: It is a scam 100%. Just read the reviews. You don't realize it until they got your money and you need something! They are holding peoples money from them that doesn't belong to them. They may even tell you you'll get it back. Just keep waiting, you wont. Then you have to call back and go through the entire process again. I'm on 6 weeks now/Overdraft fees/No Thanksgiving/ and I have photo proof I cancelled 2 days before my free trial was up. They just didn't want me to cancel! Lol. They do things different here. You have been WARNED my friends!
Answer: Doesn't matter since they ignore the discrepancy once they have you under contract. No wonder their rating is so poor!
DirecTV has a rating of 1.3 stars from 472 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with DirecTV most frequently mention customer service, phone call and billing cycle. DirecTV ranks 54th among Cable Television sites.
