Nothing this site sells works--it's all garbage. Trying to resolve your issue through their posted solutions doesn't work either. Good luck trying to speak to someone about your problem--perhaps all the support staff has drowned in their own digital river. It's pretty simple, deliver what your selling. I'm going to my credit card company to get my money back.

Complete scam
January 27, 2017

Went though on my Paypal with bogus email and phone #. Have found no way to get my money back. Don't even use the subscription product they charged me for. Email address on file bounces back invalid. Paypal would not help because they said I have an agreement.

Fraud

Stating that they are a fraudulent company sounds harsh - but I am afraid they just are.
What makes me say this? Many years ago I purchased a software (AVG) from them.
1) Every 2 years they debit my credit card. As they do not have the right expiring date, they just try all several possibilities till they find the right ones. Meanwhile I get emails from them that they cannot debit my Visa card as the exp. Date is not correct).
2) This year, same story, I had enough and tried to contact them (tel nr. Not working, email not working...) Finally I succeeded and even was promised that I will get a refund, that I no longer will be a subscriber, that they take my email address off their list...) I finally even got a refund.
3) A month later they debited my card again - with a few $ extra charge...
If you check paypal community you will see nearly hundreds of complains and still the can go on cheating people. What a shame!

My gpu has been in "Order in process" for a week now and their customer service is literally useless, I haven't gotten a single reply from them in days. Who in their right mind would do business with these tools.

Bad system

I don't think that Digital River is a scammer, but its system is very bad. I do believe this company isn't customer friendly.
Our money was taken by this company for unwanted product. I had to be more careful about notifications from this company. However, the company's handling customer is very unskillful and unkind and I even felt they are lazy.

If you thought unauthorized money was taken, check if you receive any emails from digital river. You can find orders you made without conscientiously. It's very tricky.

I have been using the Digital River companies RegNow and SWreg for about 14 years. They give good service, and are fairly easy to set up. In that time I have never had any transaction from my websites compromised, their security is excellent.
The one thing that prevents a 5 star rating is their customer support. Whenever I've sent a "Contact Us" support request, I have not received an answer. They must think that if they ignore you, you'll eventually find the answer. I usually have, but after a lot of wasted time and frustration that could have been averted by the courtesy of a simple answer from them.

Awful

I ordered a tablet through nvidia's website. Digital River are the distributors for nvidia.
I really should have done some research beforehand because had I known how bad Digital River were, I would never have ordered.
They sent me a used tablet that had clearly been returned to them for a refund as the previous customers return slip was in the box with the tablet!
I eventually got a refund but only after submitting a claim through paypal, it really was like getting blood out of a stone.

Auto Renew SCAM
September 12, 2017

I got that auto renew email just like everyone else. Here's what I did to cancel (and fingers crossed that it works!)
I called my credit card company, was told that there was a charge from 1 year ago on a different credit card # (but it automatically will transfer to my new card) from Avast Digital River.
The number associated with this company was *******089.
Even though the automated voice says they do not deal with online, that is not true, stay on the line and get to a regular customer service person for "non-technical" support.
I ended up speaking with someone located in the Philippines! I told him this was a scam and that if he did not help me I would go to the local news station.
He helped me to cancel the auto-renew in like 3 mins.
Now I just have to wait for my next billing cycle to confirm there was no charge.
If I do get charged, my plan will be to dispute the charge with my credit card company, and I may actually go to the news station.

Disrespectful

Customer service is unorganised all departments are in different countries and they don't communicate with each other. Complaint procedure is non existent! I've returned a useless Lenovo product which they could locate at first but when I did not receive a refund they said they could not locate it after all, now after 4 months of communications the best they came up with that I did not return the product at all! Calling me a liar basically after I've done everything to keep them informed! Keep away from them!

Really disappointed that Kaspersky, a company I have used for many years and trusted, have chosen to work with these awful scam artists. You are signed up to a renewal but when you try and cancel they just ignore you and renew anyway. I'm having to close my PayPal account to stop them renewing again next year. An absolute farce and an awful, awful company.

I logged on to my bank to make some payments and transfers.
I noticed a charge for $49.95 - did not recognized so I called my bank. They told me it's Digital River. I did not authorized this transaction. It's a scam! No number to contact, no idea where the company is registered for their operations. I have talked to fraud department and taking further action. I also cancelled my card Beware, they will make you their customer whether you like it or not!

Buyer Beware!

These guys charged my credit card without my authorization for services I no longer needed! Thankfully I paid them through paypal and was able to get the charges reversed. Additionally, they have the worst customer service in the business! Do yourself a favor STAY AWAY!

Defrauded Bank Account

Noticed an unrecognised transaction for £269.99 - it was from digital river. Have never heard of them / bought anything from them. Luckily I managed to cancel my bank card whilst the transaction was pending. Tried to contact digital river to discuss the transaction, but the phone number didn't work and the email was responded to by a generic automated response which offered no help / solution and no further contact details, Definitely a scam site.

10-08-2020 I've ordered an in-ear-headset from Lenovo, after emailing and calling I still haven't received anything on 25-09-2020. It's not about the money, but about the fact that they constantly promiss everything, but nothings seems happening...

I ordered MediaWidget from this company. Installed it on my computer and it did not work. Of course they charged my credit card I've requested a refund and have yet to receive it. The technical support they offer does not allow you to converse with anyone via phone. All correspondence is by email and it take them 48-72 hours to respond to any request. Their customer service is awful. If I could rate them in the negative column I would. One star is far too high a rating for them!

I originally downloaded a TRIAL version of Kaspersky Internet Security off Google. After a few weeks decided 'buy'... clicked on 'buy' to get a validation code... paid thru PayPal. Thinking I was dealing direct with Kaspersky Australia... after paying and getting the order confirmation realised I was grossly overcharged of A$88.95(for 1 Mac for 1year) instead of A$39.00 (1 mac for 2 years). Tried contacting Digital River, by several emails. Never received any reply... What a con!

Got a fake email

I just received a email from this company that lead me to a fake paypal site, rang paypal as it said they were taking £59.99 funny enough no pending transactions and paypal didn't know anything about it BEWARE! If you get a legit looking email always check it with paypal and never give out your details I'm luck I was smart enough to check.

Hidden cost of import duty when product is same price in Argos less. Surprize demand for import duty. The selling web Site is out of date and misleading. Has just been changed and updated. I logged onto UK selling site and paid Vat. Then delivery company wants me to pay import duty! Why tell me this after I purchased and paid. Phoned them up and complained. Now awaiting a refund to process. The delivery company said they attempted delivery but did not even make a visit. Now need to reject because the delivery company offered return to sender on log on. So I logged on. Delivery company says I cannot change delivery to return to sender, not an option. I will reject when it arrives then. Most annoying part I would not have made the order if I knew the wanted another £46 for import duty. Yet their site says free shipping! And assumed delivery included. After all paid on UK web link but was using the pre Brexit web pages with where last updated with terms in 2014.

They have just taken £61.99 from my credit card, I contacted my card provider and they said they did the same last year. No idea what it is for and no response from Digital River. Do not use them, and certainly check to make sure there is no recurring payment. No phone number to contact etc. I am down over £120 over 2 years with no explanation, and no information on what I am paying for.

Even one is too high

Absolutely disgusting customer service. My son bought an expensive laptop that broke after a few days. He contacted digital river and then started weeks of trying to get a replacement or refund. They never replied and he waited weeks for a refund - they didn't have a replacement of the same model. Luckily he had another laptop he could use during this time but other people wouldn't be able to wait the five or so weeks to get a refund so they can buy an alternative. My son has been asking for their complaints procedure but they've Ignored him. Avoid them like the plague
