Good merchandise but poor quality emails

I've been a customer for quite some time, and have bought many items. In general, the quality has been good and the web site is fairly sophisticated. However, the emails they send (with statuses and requests to confirm information) don't work -- the mail merge fails and thus both my name and the order number is missing. I've complained to them, but no response and no fix. Too bad, otherwise I would give them 5 stars.

Cheats and thieves.

A scam. Items not sent. Bogus Tracking numbers. Australia Post also conned by these people. Really difficult to complain, resolve issues or get a refund. Dispute process difficult to initiate, particularly if items don't arrive. Customer service a joke - some automated monkey creature. Made as difficult as possible. AVOID THIS SITE - Use AliExpress, Wish or Amazon - at least they are honest and generally reliable.

Absolute con, items that arrived were nothing like the picture, poor quality and awful. DHGate agreed to give me my shipping costs back once I return the items, which I did. Its a now been 3 months and nothing, they wont respond they even acknowledge me. Disgrace, I import many items but this is the worst company ive ever dealt with

Double charged
December 24, 2016

DHgate double charged me for an item, they didn't help resolve the problem after I explained this double charge put my account at a negative balance then got charged overdraft fees for that on top of it! Since they were not helpful in resolving this, I will not use them again

My experience with DHgate has been a very smooth one. It was very easy to send the Western Union and then watch as the orders each went thru their progression on the website this gives you greater confidence in the process when you can see the stages your order is going through. I received all my items and they were as displayed - Sent my order around one of your holidays which delayed some items being sent but love each one. Thank you.

I am yet to receive my order

I am yet to receive my order - so so far my experience is far from satisfactory. I paid priority shipping and have been waiting in excess of 2 months.
We needed the dance boots for a specific date which has long since gone - and yet still no product, no message, nothing.

The customer service is bad, the sellers hardly can understand English, the size guide is always changing and sellers when you ask a question all you get one word replies like "ok" "yes".

Been buying of dhgate for a while had enough now, will shop elsewhere that shops to the UK

I returned this item, Express Mail, as I was not happy with product, to provided address. Apparently, it was not delivered or picked up by chinese mail and the item was just returned to me.
After spending over $400 for wheels and $90 for return, I got screwed out of my money either way.
Not happy at all and please, if you're in the US or Europe, do not buy these type of things from China. In the likely event you want to return them, you can just as well forget about your money and get stuck with something you don't want. Very unhappy!

Needs Fine Tuning

The search engine is lousy and i ordered a purse a month before my wife's birthday and that was 6 weeks ago. No communication from the seller even though I've sent many messages.

Arrived quickly very well packaged The pictures show about 15 different varieties of solar flowers. The ad stated a random assortment. Never did I dream that they were all going to be the same. Why would I want my whole order to be one kind. The ad as very deceptive. Should have never ordered them! It would cost too much to pay return shipping to China so will keep them but will never order from seller again.

Hi, I ordered football boots to Ireland for my son on 17th April 2016. They have not arrived but you have taken payment from my VISA. I tried contacting through your website 2 weeks ago with no response. I am very unsatisfied. I will contact my VISA company to recover money if you do not deliver these boots. Do not trust these shady sellers. I ordered my dress from them. They took the money immediately. The dress came a month later looking nothing like described on the website or like the picture that was listed. I requested a refund, paid $70 to ship the merchandise back. It's been 4 months and I still haven't received a refund. They told me to "keep contacting the merchant." The problem is, the merchant doesn't respond! Very disappointed and short $250.

I bought a watch from DHGate and waited weeks for it to arrive. Not only was it a different colour to the one that I ordered, it turned out to also be a fake! When you are spending over a hundred pounds on something, you expect to get what you ordered. I contacted the seller, many, many times and he eventually offered me a $10 refund. This obviously offended me. I and I instantly refused, saying that I wanted the watch that I had originally ordered, sending out to me, as I had already paid for it weeks before. I then got an offer of a $20 refund. Am I wrong in thinking that when you order something and pay for it, you expect to get what you paid for? I escalated this to DHGate's completely pointless resolution service (they always side with the seller, as they themselves lose money if they give refunds). I was told that they were sorry that I had had a bad experience but would only give me less than half of my money back? An admission of guilt but still no full refund. I do not trust these people at all, as they clearly make a living out of cheating honest people out of their hard earned cash. They knowingly allow conmen to sell counterfeit goods, passed off as genuine products, and don't even bother to apprehend them in anyway, when they are found out. I have since refused the partial refund (obviously) and have now been told that I have to pay to ship the fake goods back to the lying, cheating seller, and then wait 50 days for a full refund. They must be mental if they think that I am going to spend yet more money and wait nearly two more months before I get a penny back. I do not believe that even then I will see any of my money again. They must be making millions of pounds a year, cheating consumers by selling fake goods to them. STAY AWAY FROM THESE FRAUDSTERS! BE WARNED!

Is there anything I can do about how I have been treated by DHGate?
I ordered a watch from seller hk2008watch, but was sent a cheap fake crap copy. I instantly contacted the seller. He told me that it was what I had ordered. I immediately sent him photos and web links to the watch that I had actually ordered. Also I sent him pictures of the rubbish that he had sent me instead. Of course this was a complete waste of my time. I then had to wait a couple of weeks, before I could escalate it to DHGate's pointless mediation process. I then of course, wasted my time for the next few weeks sending the same proof to customer support (seller support, more like) Yes the customer most definitely comes last, where DHGate are concerned. I have since found out that they receive 20% of the price paid by us poor unsuspecting buyers. This is why today, I have been informed that my dispute has been resolved.? I don't think so. They are fobbing me off with an $80 refund. That is over 75% less than the $360 that I paid the con artist hk2008watch. This obviously means that DHGate gets 20% of the $280 that I have been duped out of. They will always side with the scammers, because they make more money. I will never, ever purchase anything ever again from this Chinese rip off website and will make sure that everyone knows about how I have been treated via social media and forums. If you want to buy quality goods at a reasonable price, and be treated like a customer should be. Then DHGate is most definitely not the place for you. However if you want to be lied to, cheated out of your hard earned money and waste your time jumping through hoops, sending hundreds of emails, to still be ripped off. Then DHGate is the perfect place to buy. People don't get cheated STAY AWAY FROM DHGATE!

Time will tell
August 6, 2016

I'm having my first dispute as we talk, time will tell once final. I order a pair of shoes, when they arrive they were not the ones I order or and the picture after payment was made. " Time will tell " how I feel ad out everything in the near future. The bad thing is the shoe was to be wore on my vacation now with the long shipping time this will draw out to two months or longer. Beside this issue dhgate has been excellent.

Bunch of crooks

If you received damaged products you are on your own, no help from supplier or debate. They say a new item was shipped but tracking number was no good. Dhgate customer service totally useless saying nothing they can do!. I think they are in cahoots. Buyer beware.

Do not order anything from dhgate you will be very disappointed! The products do not come as advertised. Electronic items may not work at all! They send you through this dispute resolution service that mainly benefits the scammers (they call them sellers). When the dispute is finalized its to the scammers benefit. Order at your own risk. Be prepared to give your money to them for nothing in return save grief. Stick with reputable sites like ebay or amazon.

As the title says, they took my money but never shipped my order. DHGate has an internal messaging system, so you have to log in to their system in order to read message from sellers. My seller said that he wanted more money before he would ship the insoles that I ordered, after he had already received payment. That definitely sounds illegal to me. I tried DHGate's dispute resolution process, but they never responded.

DHGate hasn't missed a beat in sending marketing emails though.

A seller sold us 50 pieces of fake fitbit flex ($1000+ USD), we found out and we returned them immediately. Dhgate told us that full refund will be issued once the products are delivered to the seller. After the products arrived, we NEVER heard anything from the seller again. We contacted dhgate and they said that the seller has no fund in their account to refund us! And they told us to wait patiently. Guess what? We have been waiting for a year something now and there is nothing from Dhgate. Every time we contact Dhgate they tell us to wait and they refused to take any actions to go after the seller, nor do they take any responsibility for this atrocious scam. Last time I checked, DHgate claims 100% buyer protection. See the photo attached for your information, we will do everything in our power to alert people to stay away from dhgate in social media.

Great Website for Buying Chinese Goods
February 24, 2017

Dhgate has impressed me with the ease of purchasing consumer goods from China. I have had little issues with purchasing aside from one accidental purchase that was easily resolved. The only advice I give is to check out the seller you are buying from as they are only using dhgate as a selling service: some sellers are more reliable than others. That being said, dhgate does a good job regulate who can and who cannot sell on the website.
