Quality is good on my Dell but I try to by a new one and is overpriced on their site. I will look for a new brand now. If you don't mind to overpay too much then quality is the good thing on Dell but is expensive.

Dell 2 in 1 core i3
March 21, 2019

I bought two of these laptops, we do have one HP that my older daughter uses for school, a MAC that I have had forever and my younger daughter uses, so my husband and I thought we would buy some new ones for ourselves. One for my husband for his business and one for myself for school. Long story short, the biggest mistake of my life. Not even a year old and one of them needs a new hardrive and the other one has constant problems. So if you want to avoid any issues get a MAC or HP.

"My computer had a corrupted OS and when I called they walked me through reinstalling it but I stopped before finishing the process because they said it would wipe all my data. I asked if they could recover it and they said it was a different department and sent me a link for support. The link said it would cost $100 dollars because it wasn't part of our warranty, but when they called me they said Dell didn't offer data recovery and would just need to do the reinstallation like the first person was going to do. So in one interaction, they told me a blatant and direct lie and charged me a $100 bogus charge for an otherwise free service because they thought they could trick me.

No wi-fi
July 2, 2020

I spent an hour on the phone with a Dell rep perfecting a computer tailored for me >$2500. It took 6 weeks to arrive. Apparently I hadn't specifically asked for it to be able to connect to wi-fi, so it couldn't. Who buys a computer that's not wi-fi compatible. Just awful.

Lost their mojo?
January 16, 2016

Bought a new XPS desktop 2 years ago, probelms from the beginning with video crashing, losing vid during gaming or whilst on FBook etc., had an engineer over to fix it under warranty, he changed the mother board and then found that the wireless link to my router no longer worked but I thought if the other probs were solved I could live with this as I connect with ethernet... same problems and fro the last 6 months, regular blue screen... This is our 8th Dell system and not had many issues previously so generally beware, I dont think they have the same QC anymore...

Product Support
April 5, 2023

I purchased a Dell Premium Service contract from Dell and the first time I contacted Dell for support it was a effort in futility. First I tried a chat session which lasted well over an hour only with no resolve to my issue. I then called Dell support and the technician set up a call back for the next day. Needless to say, NO ONE CALLED BACK. I then received several emails asking if I was still having issues. I explained in a return email no one ever called. I finally requested a refund for the service contract and now it is a wait and see if they will refund my money.

Never again will I do business with Dell. I received a birthday $20 coupon in the mail which clearly stated it was good for and suggested brands other than Dell (see photo). When attempting to use it, it was denied. Customer service told me it was only good for Dell products despite the "Save $20 on your electronics purchase of $100 or more from top brands like Bose, Amazon, Logitech and Nest". Zero mention in the fine print about being limited to Dell brand only. I fought tooth and nail for Dell to honor it but they just keep giving the run around from one person to another, "Oh we'll put in a request to such and such". Weeks later, nothing. Worst gift ever. This isn't the first time Dell has shown shady practices. I had an XPS laptop which had a recall on the battery since it would expand and damage internals. Well, the battery damaged my motherboard and just shut off one day. They offered to replace the battery only. They claimed the battery could not have caused the damage to the motherboard. Lucky for me, my credit card approved an extended warranty claim. Once Dell returned the laptop, some buttons on the keyboard no longer functioned. They were fine before the laptop crashed on me. Again, I had to fight with Dell for them to fix it. Eventually they did after weeks of arguing but they should have covered the initial repair in the first place. I guess it was just a coincidence that both the motherboard and keyboard had issues at the same time that the battery expanded. I've had enough of Dell's shenanigans. I will not support this company in the future and would highly suggest others follow suit.

I purchased my first ever Dell computer 2 years ago. I paid more for the laptop than I ever had any other because I was told it was the best. Within 2 months I had my first issue with the charging of the laptop. I called warrenty and they repaired it. Great, except here I am 2 years later with the same issue. I have had to call service multiple times for this same issue. They have replaced the port 3 times, the charger 4 times, the motherboard, the keyboard and the casing. I requested a new laptop after my 3rd service call but was told " This repair will fix it", well it didn't and here I am 2 years later with the same issue. I just had it repaired for the same issue AGAIN in Feb 2019, charger out again now and I am out of warranty. I think I will put this Dell in the trash where it belongs and go to HP. Dont waist your money on this laptop unless you have plenty of time to spend on the phone and waiting for service that will not fix the issue.

I purchased a computer that never worked properly. I called and spent hours troubleshooting, I sent the computer to them to fix (which was a disaster in itself because nobody has common sense when you speak to them).
I received back the computer with the same issues.
I contacted them and they wanted to troubleshoot again. I told them absolutely not - I cannot spend another hour - I want a new PC or exchange.
They then proceeded to text me every morning at 1am to try and troubleshoot for weeks until I filed a complaint.
I finally spoke to someone and they told me I need to upgrade my PC
(really? I just bought it and never really used it!)
Then they proceeded to try to send a tech out - it was difficult scheduling an appointment and when I did, I left work early for it and they did not show up and closed the appointment.
I had to contact Dell once again... They refuse to give me a replacement. I lost my money and Dell is a big disappointment

Best laptops
July 18, 2022

I have bought so many different brands of laptops over the years and Dell is clearly the best brand. Every laptop I have bought from Dell has met my expectations. Dell makes good quality laptops. I just bought the Inspiron 15 5000 laptop and it's AMAZING! It's FAST and I LOVE it! The keyboard lights up too. Thank you Dell! I will never buy any other brand of computer except Dell.

2500 Dollars worth of disappointment
February 22, 2021

Received an Alienware Aurora R10 with a faulty CPU that overheats. A Dell technical support representative told me temperatures up to 120 degrees Celsius are normal for this processor which is an absolute lie and harmful to the CPU (AMD's own documentation lists the max temp for this processor is 95 degrees Celsius). This was not the experience I was expecting from a 'premium' computer and I'm extremely disappointed in this service. I'd rather buy from any of Dell's competitors than deal with this type of situation again.

Dell Technical Support, both local vendor and Dell Houston Repair Depot, failed to solve an annoying problem (mouse and keyboard randomly freezing) that plagued my new XPS 15 9500 for the entire first year. After having the keyboard and mouse replaced and then finally reinstalling the operating system to no avail, Dell offered to send me a refurbished system replacement with no warranty. Since my system had been reinstalled, it would seem that either my own system was "refurbished" or that Dell could have refurbished it to correct the problem. Either way, I spent too much time trying to communicate with Technical Support and even more without my laptop while it made a trip to Houston without any solution to the problem. I certainly did not extend my support contract, and I will not be replacing any computer with a Dell product in the future.

I bought an XPS laptop and it arrived dead. I had to call to get a replacement. While I was able to reach someone to help it wasn't good service. Outsourced service and the call quality was just bad. I did receive a replacement laptop but it took too long. They make good products but they need to work a lot on theyre customer service teams!

The WORST customer service I ever received! They take no accountability and are rude- I have spent hours on the phone trying to fixt their screw up- laptop sent to the wrong address as inputted incorrectly on their end. No understanding, I will NEVER buy from them again- I have 4 kids that are always updating tech but they are not worth the nightmare. I am very understanding that mistakes happen but please take accountability- very disappointing!

I use my laptop only when I travel which is very infrequent due to covid. I bought the laptop in July. When I tried it in November the wifi would not connect. Finally dellsent a technician who changed the motherboard. But now the motherboard is new the computer is dead. The computer is locked. A dell online person spent 31 minutes on the phone and could not get it working. He finally gave up. The laptop is dead and Dell service cannot get it up and going. Dell refuses to replace it.

Worst experience ever! I ordered a computer, paid for it with Paypal, received the computer, son very happy. Invoice says it was paid. A year later, they sent me emails that I still haven't paid for the computer. I opened my account--it says it has been paid for. I called, and representatives say to ignore everything because it is fraud. So I do what I am told. I ignore the numerous e-mails and then calls. I contact Dell again. It's all ok, ignore. Now, another year later, I have received a letter from a lawyer saying I owe Dell money. I very well may, because after researching more, I can't find the record of the transfer. But I don't even know how to pay them since it doesn't show up in my account and I am extremely wary of paying some random person who I can't even confirm works there over the freaking phone. But now they have added over $50.00 to my original bill and I still can't get it confirmed from contact that I do owe them money or how to pay even because I have some freaking letter from some law firm that I don't even know really exists. Customer service is impossible! And I am really mad now. Never would I ever ever ever buy anything from Dell again.

Dell did not load office before the pc shipped.
After I received the computer from dell, Dell and Microsoft on three way chat for ~2hours, Microsoft loaded MS office remotely.
Neither Dell or Microsoft support could provide a software key.
I made multiple requests to DELL for software key and could not get to the right person with "authority" to provide a key.
After 5 days of calls/email i gave up and returned the PC.
