DON'T BUY A DELL COMPUTER! YOU WILL BE SORRY! Dell is the worst company to buy a computer from! They hand up on you! Someone will call you and tell you what to do. But don't leave their name or number. And no way to contact them! They have a lot of nerve!
I purchased an OptiPlex with a $423 monitor that had a video camera and sound. Unfortunately, the sound never worked. I complained immediately and spent hours on the phone installing drivers, reinstalling software, turning it off and on, etc. After a year, the problem persisted and they finally sent a new monitor - and it had the same problem! Another five hours downloading drivers and then Dell admits that the monitor and cpu do not work well together but since it's over a year there's nothing they can do. Here's snippet from the last email they sent...
"I have spoken to our engineers and specialist for your model of system regarding the audio playback issues you are experiencing with your Dell Monitor connected to your OptiPlex system. Intel has confirmed a chipset limitation on the Intel 500/600/700 (TGL/ADL/RPL) series. When the Trusted Platform Module (TPM) SPI is busy, the USB package is stalled until the TPM is completed, which might lead to a transaction error for the USB hub and impact the downstream audio device. Unfortunately, we are unable to process a return for your computer as it is outside the return period." Thanks Dell
Βought a Dell Latitude 9430 end 2023 about 2,500 euros, with 3 year NBD service.
From day one the laptop showed malfunctions (blue screens, losing bluetooth, audio and microphone issues). Dell insisted on formatting the system, which I did (to my own expense and burden). However, problems remained. Within 18 months I had to: -replace the motherboard
-replace the keyboard which started to peel of (like it is some sort of water painting)
-replace the screen when the camera didn't work
-replace the screen 3 more times within 30 days, as all of them failed after first screen replacement. Dell's customer service was just awful, as they:
-refused to replace the laptop after all these issues and 4 screen replacements
-refused to provide me temporarily with an external monitor until they fix the laptop (had to buy it on my own)
-delayed the replacement of the 4th screen for 12 days (I use the laptop for work purposes and I had to carry both laptop and external monitor all these days)
-admitted that they use refurbished items not only new ones (but when I asked, they stated they did not know if parts used for me were refurbished or new…)
-didn't give an explanation why 4 screens failed (even though they as stated 'do all thorough checks') in 40 days. Bottom line: Dell used to be state-of-the-art service and quality, now their product quality is ridiculous and their customer service is awful.
I went online to purchase from Dell Alienware I paid for m18 R2 with RTX 4080 video card. I received m18 R2 with RTX 4070 These are not the same thing. I called to inquire about the issue all I got was grief, transfers, and many attempts to explain my issue over and over with no resolution. I feel cheated and after going around with them I now feel it was intentional and the way they do business. I would not ever recommend purchasing from them even if a gun was at your head, just take the bullet.
I have been buying Dells for over 35 years. I hate - no I absolutely LOATHE - my new Dell XPS.
1. They snuck in a non-free subscription to McAfeee. I don't want McAfee! I use Norton on all my devices. I forced them to refund that charge, but I get annoying and aggressive MaAfee pop ups at random and inconvenient times when I am trying to work.
2. My PIN malfunctions consistently and I need to do a 2FA just to sign in to my workstations.
This machine stinks. I'll never buy a Dell again.
We bought 2 refurbished computers from them. We have had problems with them since we got them. We had McAfee with them. We have had problems no matter what browser we used with 4 lines on them. I requested help with Microsoft support and they told me to follow this:Steps to Perform In-place in Windows 11.1. Go to this link - https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows11
2. Select Windows 11 (multi-edition ISO) under Download Windows 11 Disk Image (ISO) and click "Download" 3. Select the product language > Click "Confirm" > Click 64-bit Download
4. Wait for the download to complete
5. Once the download is complete, go to download folder > right-click the downloaded file (Windows 11 ISO) and select "Open with Windows Explorer" 6. Double-click the "Setup"
7. Follow the on-screen instruction. Instruction. Once the ISO file is downloaded, follow these steps:
1. Open the ISO file.2. Double-click on the Windows 11 ISO file.3. Open the file and scroll down to find "Setup."4. Double-click on "Setup."5. Accept the terms and conditions to start the update process.
6. The Windows installation will begin.7. Once the installation is complete, your system will restart, and your issue should be resolved. Nope. Link to get back. Nope, link to self help. Not worth the money!
Started out good with my Inspiron 3020 then one port went out in the first six months of having it and then another one. So two ports went out within a year of owning it. I suspect they turned themselves off to save power because that box was ticked (I unticked it) but I don't know how to get them turned back on and their fake tech support (they want a job but they don't want to do the job but yet wabt to get paid to do nothing) was no help. They jumped straight to remote access, sending it back to them to fix (nothing ever comes back from repair better then it was sent for repair everyone knows that) or having someone come to my house. Very sus that they are dying to get their hands on it. It's been discontinued but that doesn't mean it's not for sale. I am pretty sure after this awful experience I will not be buying dell for my next computer purchase and it's their own fault. I used to recommend dell and now I do not.
I bought a laptop about four years ago and of course it can't be updated to Windows 11 so it's going to be a worthless block of crap at the end of 2025. I got a laser printer from Dell years ago and about one year ago, I got a message on the printer that said "091-402 Printer Near End Of Life". So I went out and bought a new printer. That new printer that I bought from Dell is still in the box and I still have the same message on my Dell laser printer. All I had to do, a year ago, to get the printer working again was to reset the wifi access using the button on my router. So their Stupid printer got me to spend more money at Dell for nothing. Then I couldn't get Dell support assist to work on the laptop. So one of their troubleshooters told me to delete Dell management services from services.msc. I did that and I've never been able to get it back. So support assist is now useless on the laptop but it also is so incredibly slow to do anything. When there is a Windows 10 update which is about every 10 days, it takes the good part of a day for the update to install. I don't care if they have AI or ZI on their new computers I wouldn't touch one. At one time years ago, they were the go to company for computers. Their products are so much trouble i'll never get another one. And their customers service stinks now. It used to be the best in the business.
Keyboard digits wore away in less than…dell give it a miss
Keyboard digits wore away in less than 12 months on my laptop customer service tells me that is normal wear on a back lit keyboard but i can bye a replacement keyboard for almost £70 i hung the phone up before i heard the price for fitting it, so this is my verdict/opinion of dell
1/ dell uk laptop keyboards are shi*te
2/dell uk laptop after sales is sh*te
2/ dell uk help is crap
3/ dell uk laptop keyboards are crap
4/ dell like so many UK companies think they can make more money selling crap to loyal customers
I received the wrong laptop. I tried many times to speak with real representative but it was impossible. You cannot pass through automated system to real person. You cannot get necessary information. It's nightmare. I'm done with Dell!
Very bad experience with dell laptop it's pathetic product and service center also product broken by service center and company not accept and my laptop touch pad not working properly after 3 time repair by service center
I wish I could give them no star. They are terrible group of people at Dell.
The Hinges on my Inspiron Laptop did break after owing it for 2 years. Bear in mind that this is an existing issue pertaining to Dell laptops. The laptop was working except that I could not fully open it up. Dell wanted me to pay a shipping cost of $59 and and another $160 dollars to fix the hinges. My PC was in good working order before I sent it out. Even went the extra mile to create a profile for the Dell engineer to login into the laptop. Dell calls to let me know the fix for hinges complete however the computers motherboard is not working. They now wanted me to another $186 to have it repaired. I refused it and they sent my laptop back to me. I am unable to use the laptop because it will not light up. Never buy a Dell Laptop
Dell used to have fairly good customer service but not any more. Every time they tried to fix my laptop under warranty they introduced another problem. They replaced the broken motherboard twice each time with a faulty refurbished motherboard. While replacing the motherboard they accidentally threw out the light that indicates charging progress and then broke the speaker. The level one support agent disinstalled the audio driver and couldn't properly install a new one, forcing us to reinstall the Windows. Our ordeal is not over. The computer keeps crashing randomly and I dread further communication with the support. They haven't been helpful at all. This is the last time I bought any Dell product. They treat their customer better than this.
This the first time I purchased anything from dell I got a deal gaming monitor it has warranty but it don't cover for damages I was told they can't fix it or replace it's impossible to fix it 899 dollar monitor and they stop fixing that it also cost more to fix it then to buy a whole new monitor they don't even sell parts for you to do it yourself this was a horrible experience and I will never purchase a thing from you guys again
When they work, their laptops are decent but customer service is non existent like most companies. I purchased two laptops in one month and both had to be returned because the earphone jacks didn't work.
I paid to have my laptop sent in and fixed at a service center. Expedited service 5-7 days and my laptop has apparently been sitting there, still isn't fixed after almost 10 days, no one emailed me with a quotation or let me know it was on "Hold" I had to go call them and find out where it was. Now they want me to pay again for the repairs that haven't been done yet. I should get my money back for the expedited service or have this quotation waived
Tried to purchase a new computer but just wasted 4 hours. Took 1 hour to order computer and separate larger hard drive. Computer came with no drive. No instructions on installing separate drive and no screws to install. After 3 hours over 2 days on the phone with tech support and customer disservice (neither could speak understandable english) I gave up and sent it back. Went to Best Buy and had a good experience.
My higher end dell computer broke 3 times in the 1st year. Their "award winning" customer support is an absolute nightmare. I've been a loyal customer to dell for the last 20 years and it has slipped so much. Never again will I purchase from them.
Attractively priced laptops: check. Convenient shipping: check. Friendly and mostly efficient customer service: check. Product quality: ok, I guess, if you're a light user. Over-users beware! This is most definitely not the best computer for you, in my humble experience -- after three major computer crashes on two different Dell laptops within four consecutive years.
13 emails, 8 phone calls, 6 associates, 4 cancelled orders, 1 language barrier - 7 days of frustration and annoyance- just to buy a machine and accessories. All because I clicked the "Chat now" pop up while browsing Dell.com. The absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life.
Answer: Not upto the mark... felt few hadrware technician are newly appointed were not ble to understand as well as answer the query.
Answer: Cause dell is a complete scam. I regret buying one. Wasted almost a thousand dollars.
Answer: I did. I bought a machine that had hardware issues right out of the box and returned it within the 30-day window. They refunded me 100% of what I'd paid, no problem.
Dell's reputation has significantly declined, with many customers expressing dissatisfaction with both product quality and customer service. While some users appreciate the performance of their devices when functioning properly, a pervasive sentiment reveals frustrations over receiving incorrect products, unresolved technical issues, and inadequate support. Customers frequently report long wait times, ineffective assistance, and poor communication from service representatives. The overall trend indicates a growing discontent with the company's responsiveness and reliability, prompting many former loyal customers to seek alternatives. This feedback highlights a critical need for Dell to enhance its customer service and product quality to regain trust.
