I spent over $3000 on a new Alienware computer, and it breaks every other month. I've had to send it in each time, and support doesn't help at all. Each time it's some random issue, and each time they completely wipe my hard drive, and I lose some important piece of data that didn't make it into the backup.
The chassis is crappy plastic, which is terrible for a computer this expensive. And the worst part is, the "support service" costs $150 a year, and I need to keep paying for it just to keep my computer running.
Save yourself some trouble, don't buy a Dell. I've never had these kinds of problems with HP or Apple.
Update: I installed Linux on it and at least now it's not breaking every other month. But the battery doesn't hold a charge anymore so I have to keep it plugged in at all times.
Brand new Latitude and Precision laptops. Batteries warranty is only 1 yr and soon after that batts dies. Batt has to be disconnected before laptop will boot. SSD hard drive dies too losing user data. Mother and has to be replaced too. All this done w/o any hassle by Dell. Users off site cause big headache as they are not allowed to open cover to disconnect batt so they can boot their laptop.
Worst customer service ever! Promises never delivered, excuses after excuses when confront them. Don't show interests to retain customers by just brush them off. Never buy Dell unless you want endless headaches dealing with support
I believe Dell Computers is a good company due to the following:
1. You can first of all (build your own computer) and you can also by a computer for less then 500$ from them.
2. There tech support in my book is top notch...
Had an issue with my hard drive and I called Dell with a quick question about it and their response was "your hd failed, would you like to purchase a new one through us". I am in school for cyber-sec so I knew that not to be true, after continuously working on my computer I discovered the issue and my computer is working without purchasing a new hd. The technicians do not have much knowledge except for searching google.
Also when you call it sounds like a bunch of people shoved in a room having a party, you can barely hear the person you are speaking with on the phone.
I mistakenly ordered a product and tried to cancel within an hour of purchase. Dell made this impossible. Not only could they NOT tell me if ordered, when would it arrive but the could not cancel an order after 45 min of trying. This company is shameful
Ordered something that I thought was sold by Dell but turns out their site is a 3rd party seller app as well. It said shipped but got lost and they refuse to refund my money. It's been a month and they still claim they wil refund. Have to call my bank to reverse the charges. It's a total scam. Do not order anything from them.
Our expensive Dell laptop hard drive died 10 months after buying it and they wanted us to pay for a replacement! Plus you can't get a hold of anyone who actually works in Canada or anyone who has anything to do with your computer that's being repaired. So you go around and around in circles until you get so fed up, you end up saying just send me my computer back unrepaired. BRUTAL!
Ordered several items in early december, showed all items in stock, several days later was notified one of the items was delayed and would arrive by end of month. Was notified again item not available till early new year. Tried to call, no calls accepted only and terrible customer service wannabe agent in India via email. Only bought this junk because Amex Platinum gives me 200 dollars every six months credit with dell *(promotion). Because of this horrible companies lack of customer service and inaccurate website this caused me the credit of 200 as items would have been delivered by end of year. Absolute crap company.
I've made quite a few online purchases through Dell. Their website could use some work in regards to organizing the products listed there and sometimes you cannot find an item that they do indeed have without having to resort to trying weird search terms, but they do have a decent lineup of devices. However, their support team is often clueless about the very items they have on their own website. If you need to get assistance with your Dell device they can be pretty decent, but if you're trying to find something or want to know something about an item on their website, they are hopeless.
The support is the worst ever, I had to fight for a year to get a decent rep who even tried to help, Its like dell could care less about customers. In this economy with all the competition one would think Dell would be better. I guess when they are rock bottom they will change for the better, they already went from first to 5th in PC manufacturers. Keep going the way your going Dell and you'll be just another company failed in a time of giants dropping like flies.
Its been 2 weeks since we placed our order. I received a shipped email, but the tracking number tells us only a label has been printed. Then I find out its shipping from Asia! What ever happened to ordering a dell and receiving it in the same year? This will be our LAST dell purchase.
We ordered a 55" smart TV on Thanksgiving 2015 Black Friday deal online for a Christmas gift! We got the tv but it was cracked and badly damaged. After a full week of aggravating attempts to even reach someone to get a replacement, we were promised one would come soon! We called daily and nothing! It is now after Christmas and they literally do not even know where that replacement tv is! They said they will send another one?!?! So we still don't have the TV we purchased as a Christmas gift! Dealing with the terrible customer service has definitely taken up way too much of our time and we have yet to receive our product! I will NEVER order from them again!
I bought a Dell Inspiron directly from Dell.com in 2018, which is about two years old now. The laptop has been very slow ever since I bought it. I never returned it even though I never loved it, because it was our secondary machine. I hardly ever use, but now, it won't charge, and the warranty has expired. Dell wants $39 just to diagnose the problem, plus whatever it costs to fix it. Who knows what they'll charge for that. It could literally be any amount. The customer no-service rep lacked empathy and did nothing to help me. This is the first and last Dell I'll ever own, and I suggest that you never have a first Dell.
Dell has designed some extremely poor laptops recently and unfortunately I purchased one and am now regretting ever buying a Dell product. The hardware that keeps the laptop together i. E. the hinges are complete junk and break within a few months. The hinges are screwed into the plastic housing which is a terrible design, so normal use will cause them to break and separate. I now have an unusable laptop and It's going to take them 5 weeks to get a replacement hinge (what a joke). I am unable to return the computer if it exceeds 30 days of ownership, That's the worst warranty I have ever heard of. I would highly suggest looking at other manufacturers when purchasing a laptop. Personally will never buy a dell product again.
Their products have issue the first year of buying them. Followed by crappy support that refuses to assist you. Warranty does not cover the battery what so ever and is a waste of money. They give you a run around when you try getting help for any issue till the warranty runs out to then tell you that you must buy the parts which cost hundreds. They also delete any Service Request Details so you can not argue anything and you wont have proof about your conversations with their agents.
I purchased a aio computer from Dell which arrived with stand missing making it inoperable. Spent all morning phoning their call centre as well as multiple emails, Purchased 6 weeks ago and still waiting to use my $2000 computer. I worry that the computer might not even work when I do eventually get it going.
Dell call centre is just there to block and not help. I will never ever consider Dell products in future if this is the way they treat customers. Photos with it with and without missing stand attached
Their website is a confusing mess right now. Trying to navigate my way around it, I will be searching for home office products and next thing I know, I am in a completely different part of the website seeing products not even applicable to me. While they have some decent products, it can be an absolute nightmare trying to find things on their website. Interestingly enough, if you perform a search, you can actually find items that don't appear in their catalog...
I bought the Alienware computer for my son. Mind you I payed over 4000.00. Plus the money I payed for extended warranty. We open the monitor and it's broken. No worries. We got the warranty so it should be an easy exchange. Nope. I have spent over a week in the phone with them with zero help. They passed me around to multiply people which they all asked for a picture which I sent 3 Dell employees. Once again they ask me to email them another picture holding a paper up with my claim number. I send them all the info they need in Dec. 28 and on Jan 2 still no response. So I get to call the customer service line again with zero help. Supposedly it's now been put on a rush response and I will recieve an email in 3 business days but still no replacement. Like I said terrible customer service. First time buying anything from Dell and more than likely will be the last.
Dell representatives in the credit card and gift card department failed me again and again and ultimately cost me hundreds of dollars. They used their automated phone system to hide from the minor and critical issues alike and you will spend hours hitting dead end after dead end phone number until you have no choice but to give up. Because of their unwillingness to assist the customer upfront with a potential fraud/security issue with gift cards, a non-issue situation turned into a fraud issue costing me the customer nearly 1 thousand dollars. The customer loses their investment and their trust in Dell while Dell reps continue to transfer your phone number not caring that you've been put on hold for 3 hours or more.
Answer: Not upto the mark... felt few hadrware technician are newly appointed were not ble to understand as well as answer the query.
Answer: Cause dell is a complete scam. I regret buying one. Wasted almost a thousand dollars.
Answer: I did. I bought a machine that had hardware issues right out of the box and returned it within the 30-day window. They refunded me 100% of what I'd paid, no problem.
