Our business was serviced by Cox for 20 years. We want to convert to VOIP. Instead, my main line has been down, porting the number was never done, the 2nd phone line was also serviced by COX was disconnected leaving my business in Limbo. Thank you to the tech person who temporarily save one of the line.
2 Weeks into the conversion:
NO tech show up for the wiring. Called and spoke to 8 different people (Chat line, scheduling line, hung up, put back on the automated assistant, repeated the same story to 8 different people).
On the schedule, but no confirm time. Cannot tell when the tech will come.
Another person, can come to view but no wiring.
If we do not have the wire then, we cannot install the following week.
Cox is too big and missing an assigned business coordinator who understand the business as well as the technical side of the business. To disconnect the only line without having wire, installation and equipment in place is a POOR business decision.
If you want Cox, be aware of their promises. Your business will be at risk, not only the upgrade is not in, your whole system will be down. No one comes to your help. Each only can handle their section.

Three days ago I spent one hour and 42 minutes on the phone with four different technical service representatives explaining the I had a defective pod in my Cox MESH system. The first representative escalated my call to an "advanced" rep. Who told me that they would replace the pod and that he would transfer me to an agent who could help me. Of course that agent disagreed and told me that Cox wouldn't replace the item and that she could transfer me to a different agent to discuss this. After a very brief and cordial visit I was cut off in the middle of that conversation. I called tech support back and the person on the line said that I needed to have a technician come to my house so one was scheduled for three days later between 1 and 3. That afternoon around 1 o'clock I received a message that the technician was delayed and that it would be between 3 and 5 before he could show up. At 4:40 the technician arrived and after I told him the problem he told me that he was told it was a different problem and he didn't know anything about the Cox MESH system. Now I have another technician scheduled to come tomorrow between 8 and 10. Hopefully that will be able to help me. I tried to use the chat on the Cox web site numerous times with no response.
This company is heartless and money hungry with overpriced service... I called to make arrangements, because I was in the hospital with a stroke. They ran my old card and place me of restriction saying that I had a return check... First of all I talked to someone and they told me that they will give me an extension. I paid over the phone on the date as I promise... 2 days later I get a email saying my cable facing cancelation. I call and again try to make arrangements after I just paid them 2 days ago. Now they saying my account is restricted from making schedule payments. Why they didn't say I was on restriction when I made the payment agreement 2 days ago? This guy didn't say anything about a restriction when he gave me the extension. So basically I paid the past due over $200 just to be in another past due for $300 2 days later with no arrangement? I should've just use that money on a real Bill. This service sucks and for the money it's not even worth it. All the money people spend on Cox they get VHS old movies and the same movies every other day. I'm going to pay the balance off when I get caught up on my real bills and going to use century link to stream my movies. COX take advantage of people for their service. We're in hard times from life and the pandemic and yet they so greddy, cold hearted. Please don't get their service. It's not worth your hard earned money. Do NOT use their crap! Don't trap in that! Customer service are $#*!ty! It's terrible! They never answer your phone call especially if you wanna cancel it!
I purchased a business in February of 2023 and selected Cox Communications as my phone and internet provider. The internet worked fine, but the phone lines were never operational. I had several support calls and they refused to send a technician to get the phones operational. So, after 4 days of internet use, I had to hire a new phone and ISP provider. Upon the initial cancellation attempt, a surly gentleman, notified me that I was under a year long contract. I obviously took issue with that stance as Cox was never able to provide operational phone lines, which is an absolute killer on a business. They refused to cancel, so for a year I paid monthly charges for services they were not providing. In early February 2024 a Cox technician named Larry was working on a neighboring business' connection and disconnected my wire. I called Cox immediately to get Larry back out to correct the issue. The phone call into support was impossibly frustrating, he kept telling me that Cox is not responsible for their own actions.A technician finally showed up 5 days later after 3 cancellations. It took him roughly 30 to screw my wire back in and I was finally back up and processing credit cards. They essentially cost me well over 5k that weekend cutting off credit card payments. Now, I have tried to cancel again, and their company line is that in order to protect me they auto enrolled me in another year long contract. There are multiple notes in their system that I was going to cancel after my year is up in order to prevent any more chicanery, but alas they did so anyway. They gave me the option for an "early-payoff" which would cost over $1400. I have contacted the BBB, but with a 1-star rating, Cox obviously doesn't care about their reputation. Please stay away from this company, they operate without ethics and will find a multitude of ways to extort your hard-earned wages.
I truly hate cox communication, the only reason I still have them is because the complex I live in offers high speed internet at a really good price! We all know Cox is soooo over priced just on the wifi alone can cost damn near 200.00 + monthly! Anyway they also offered TV services witch later on I found out did not include the recdeiver boxes I received so I returned them at a local store in the big return box they have for customers that don't want to wait in line. (my bad) only to be told they don't have them so they have continued to change me monthly for something I no longer have, they can see has not been in use, not only that they have discounted my paid in full internet service witch has nothing to do with the TV boxes that I'm being charged for! Oh an when you call you get the run around and lied to my the employees unable to get a stright answer for anyone to save your life! Really and honestly just a horrible company all the way around, and I wish they didn't have most of the coverage in my area cause I do truly dislike Cox Communications with every fiber in my body!
So I had att 5 years and decided to try and save money so I go with connect assist with cox and boy do I regret it first the modem looked centuries old and second the internet was so slow it kept crashing I ran back to att as fast as I could I had it from April 19th to may 12th so yeah not even a month I'm sorry att
Had cox cable and internet & phone bundle. Signed up for the price lock and next month bill went up like $60. Called 2 hours on phone, to determine it was their mistake, they corrected charges & apologized. Next month bill went up even more. Called 2 hours on phone, AGAIN their mistake, they corrected charges. Next month charged even more... 5 months IN A ROW CALLED to fix their billing mistakes then just cancelled cable service. 10 hours of my life for their mistakes. Now 1 year later I have only cox internet and phone and it started again. Bill went form $71 to $91 to $126 when real bill is only $51.2 hours on the phone 2 more months in a row. Their mistake again, dreading next month to see what they do. Also when we had cox cable the box had to be reset 2-3x a month or sound picture blacked out. Technician were at my house 2x a month for 3 months changing boxes and who knows what. Never worked right and we got robbed 2 weeks later. 99% sure it was the last cox technician who was here over 3 hours and left with out fixing anything that robbed us of 20k plus. 2 laptops, flat screen, video cameras, irreplaceable videos etc.

The purpose for disputing a charge is because it's

Though I had every reason. The amount of time and effort I

Refuse to help me and transfer me to others to say the Same thing.
Cox internet is great when its working, the issue comes in when you have any issues and need assistance, the chats will give you the runaround or disconnect randomly when they cant solve your issue in hopes that when you reconnect you'll get another agent leaving you to start all over, The price is NOT as affordable as they advertise, my bill is over $120 and its just internet. That's not too crazy of a bill for what I make, but its definitely a crazy high bill to only actually have good service a week out of the month and have it lagging the rest because they want you to pay for more data. In a world where majority of us are working from home and home learning that in itself is ridiculous, but my straw that broke the camels back was the horrible customer service. Either continuously get disconnected by chat agents, or wait on hold for all of your youth just to have the phone agent tell you they'll send someone out to help you fix your internet... that you NEED in order to work. In FOUR days or so... without so much as a discount for the inconvenience of being OUT OF WORK for days and "disconnected" at least twice. If they weren't the only ones that serviced my immediate area I'd cancel it TODAY! The photos uploaded are of the THIRD chat agent I'd spoken to today who then said that HE would have to disconnect due to maintenance... at least he gave an answer and didnt just end the chat unlike the others though.
Outage every single day. 0.5mbps while paying for 1000mbps. Hardly able to post this review. Any other service would be better. Don't waste your money.

Today (April 8,2022 im paying $174 for cable) I told my father to watch & see how Cox makes it difficult to leave their cable.
I was on the phone for almost an hour telling them I'm leaving their cable, they had the audacity to ask me: What are you going to do about cable then?!
I said it's none of your business to ask me that, however I said I'm tired of price rises because we only have regular channels.
The Cox Guy said I have HBO, Starz, Showtime & Max.
I said no, I never ordered those channels.
He said I've had them since I got rid of internet.
I told him I never Ordered or Gave Permission to have those Channels.
He Did Not Deny that Fact about the Channels I didn't Order -Yet Argued on -If you leave you will lose your loyalty plan and can't do anything about if you come back.
(There's more than what I'm saying right now but everyone should get the point. Cox loyalty is only they're pockets)

I have had cox for over 20 years.
I live in an area where cox monopolizes coaxial internet.
Long story short, cox cannot fix my problem because their infrastructure is outdated. After countless hours wasted troubleshooting their issues FOR them, a cox specialist was sent out to check the "node" that provides internet to the neighborhood. The node cannot meet supply and demand for the amount of users on their internet, so their nodes get overloaded causing packet loss. I get about 10-50% packet loss any time during the day. I'll have patches of an hour or two where I might not have any problems, but once everyone on their service starts using the internet, their infrastructure can't handle the overload, and packets get lost. It makes gaming unbearable.
I asked the specialist if they can troubleshoot the problem down the line, but he said that to make any repairs would require permits from the city, and that could take 1-2 years. Packet loss is a very tricky issue to troubleshoot, and it would take an immense amount of time to find the issue, because anything down to the wires could be causing it.
On a side note, Cox takes extremely terrible notes in their customer service. When I tried to get help, I would have to start from scratch, because they have no idea what has been troubleshooted. It was like a broken record, "let's try resetting your modem", they would ALWAYS start with. I must have gone through a dozen cox employees before I finally called them, and asked them to add notes to my account about what has been troubleshooted about my service.
I've been dealing with these issues since 2019. I pay over $160 for internet alone, because I need reliable, stable, fast internet. The only cure for this company is to move away from them.
Everytime there's an issue with this company it takes months to get resolved and then does NOT stay resolved! I've spent countless hours trying to resolve issues with Cox! They send obnoxious techs out who aren't informed of the issues I'm having, and I'm expected to recount in detail what is going wrong! I even had one tech who stole a set of diamond earrings from me! Every time the modem resets my personally selected setting go back to Cox' baseline settings! And I'm not aware of when the modem resets, which is way too often! I'm missing critical calls from physicians, attorneys, family, who have their caller ID coming in as private! This morning I reset the spam setting 3 times...and those settings did NOT stay as I selected! I'm forced to have to receive "spammer calls" just so my private callers can get through the spam screening! I am so disgusted with this company! Also a long history of picking up my phone only to find NO DIAL TONE! So in a life & death situation, I suppose I'm to build a fire and send smoke signals? Complete crap! AVOID THIS HORRID UNRELIABLE SECOND RATE COMPANY!
