This company has gone down hill fast, you see I moved in 2019 had my service professional hooked up from that time on I had nothing but problems I couldn't even watch a 30 minute show as it'd always tile or lose single even to the point my daughter could not even do her online schooling, I continue to pay my bill on time every month hoping they'd fix it!
Witch over a period of 2 years I then called an told them to cut my service they never did now they saying I owe them 400 bucks how about the service I was unable to use for the 2 years straight.
I even have proof of these conversations in text with cox
My home life system would even cut out every night now how can I go to work leaving my kid at home unprotected?
Anyone interested in starting a class action lawsuit on these guys at cox

Cox Communications is beyond pathetic. Absolutely horrible internet service. NEVER get the speeds I am over paying for. Outages frequently, normally for a minimum of 8 to 12 hours if not more. Instead of actually fixing problems, they put bandaid after bandaid and it just fails again and again because they are a bunch of cheap pieces of sh!t and would rather steal your money than actually ensure consistent service for their customers. I've already joined a large group of people looking to sue Cox. Can't wait to put them out of business.
Apparently our 12month special ended in February. We were paying 56.00 a month for basic cable nd internet. Somehow even though our Dec and Jan bill statements said we had payments of 56.00 due, after paying those bills, March 1st we get a bill for 273.00. Stating we are behind by 239.00$! Wth. After 4 1/2 hours on the phone transferred 12 times to various different departments, we still dont know why we are behind, nd have recieved 4 different amounts we owe! Wth, get it together Cox, your customer service center sucks!

Cox did increase price for basing internet for 140% and add $50.00 extortion fee since I did blocked my credit credit card expecting double charges.
1 Cox does deception and extortion from long time clients
2. Bad communication with Cox agents from Manila Filipines and Arizona office
3. As January 2023 my price went up by 140% this is extortion and deception
4. I did ask yesterday 2/22/23 to close account and make balance 0 or we will star Class Action Law case with US Alexandria Virginia federal Court.

Absolute waste of money. If there are any other providers at all in your area you need to seriously consider going with them instead. Calling support does borderline nothing when their service drops. They will have you troubleshoot locally, lie to you about outages they are having, then try to charge you to send someone out to do exactly the troubleshooting steps you just did with them on the phone.
I live in Jenks, Cox has a monopoly in my neighborhood because ATT won't compete, they've probably talked to each other illegally to stifle competition. Cox oversells their capacity, constant slowdowns of the internet during peak hours. I absolutely hate having to use this crappy, overpriced company. We use them at work as well, their business offerings are extremely overpriced with long contracts. I will absolutely switch the moment some other company sells actual broadband in my neighborhood. I dream of winning the lottery and putting Cox out of business in Oklahoma.
We arrived at our seasonal AZ condo on 1-3-23 and I called to set up our cable and wifi services. At that time, I was told that those services had been instead set up in early November and that we had been billed for two months for services at (+$300) no one requested or used. I spoke to two different reps, each claiming that we would receive a refund. One rep, Caleb, told me that he had submitted a refund form and that their bank would email me within three days. Instead I received a confusing email from Cox so I called back to their customer service. Finally I was told that the refund request was rejected.
Cox should treat their customers much better and not employ shady practices. Buyer beware of this unscrupulous company!
Signed up for Cox StraightUp internet. One week of service $20. Just a temporary thing was all I needed. The provided passcode never worked. Tech support admitted they had no idea how to reset passcode. No instructions on the website. Lady in the sales dept (no idea how I was connected to her) said. "... hate to tell you this but you are out the twenty bucks". Never again will I use Cox Cable.
I saw a TV commercial for Cox cable advertising five dollar sports pack and five dollar DVR service. I currently pay $10 and $13 for the services. I called Cox and requested the five dollar promotional price and was told its for new customers only and only last for three months. The commercial says neither of these things. In addition, The agent told me the DVR price is five dollars off the current price, not five dollars total, which is explicitly what the commercial promises. Blatant false advertising, Better Business Bureau needs to look into this
Over the past few weeks our internet has been going out intermittently at our home, forcing us to use hotspot on our cellphones for our occupations as a teacher and a grad student.
When we called Cox, they acknowledged that our internet had been periodically going out, and said the next step was to send someone out.
The catch?
If Cox determined that anything else was causing the issue that we are paying for (i. E, faulty wiring in the walls), they were going to charge us a $75 fee for checking it out.
Basically, in order to fix the issue with the internet, we were threatened with a fee.
It gets better, though. They tried to sell us ANOTHER product, a "protection" JUST IN CASE they determined the problem with their internet was *our* fault.
Unbelievable. Truly terrible service.
Cox Communications is a direct portal to Hell and once they have their hooks in you…believe you cannot extricate yourself from their greedy claws. I have been a customer for decades, bundled with TV, phone & internet service spending literally thousands of dollars annually. Over these decades, every time we experienced a "problem" with their service…they send some technician over to replace cable. Look at the photos, my house has 50 miles of coaxial hanging off it…literally! The workmanship and shortcuts taken are abysmal. So last year when I was planning to replace my roof and fascia, they sent a guy out who said we could rip out all the cable hanging off the house (and inside cable too) and run a single short line into the house and run everything off WIFI…no charge. It would take an hour or two at most. However, it rained constantly that Fall season and our project had to be postponed. So I contact them today to schedule this and now they tell me the want $100.00 for the work. Now maybe I'm just in a mood or maybe Cox has become ridiculously greedy but this bovine excrement FEE just infuriated me to my core and compelled me to choose to remove Cox from my life. Their service has been problematic all along anyway, regular outages and shutting off service cuz we missed a payment date by a week. See what should be their logo in the attached pics. Cox Communications sets the Customer Care bar so low…you need a backhoe to find it. So I am now cutting the cord, ripping all their cable (that hangs like thick spaghetti) off my home and getting a competitors service and television apps (which I use more & more anyway (cuz there's nothing good on Cox TV ever) and the savings will more than pay for the change. If you don't have sufficient grief in your life…Cox is there to provide it. If you wish to remove grief, cut the Cox cord like me. They do not deserve any customer loyalty. They do not care about being loyal to those stupid enough to stick with them despite their miserable service, dumb policies, poor workmanship, outages and added fees. Cox sucks. If they sucked any harder, they would create a black hole and drag all of humanity into oblivion.

The sales representatives are dumb and totally untrained. They cannot see the need for me to order a technician to come by for the installation of my modem.
I was advised that this is the case by talking to three customer support "specialists".
I scheduled an appointment. However, despite that, they are "trying" to accommodate my free time with the availability of the techs, at some point they rescheduled twice my appointment. The first time they even did not bother to send me an email. It was an act of revenge since I was so pissed that Cox does not have any integrity-doing what they claimed will do.
After 4 reschedulings of tech visitation, now I am sitting at my home, actually enjoying a day off, so I can meet the tech, but nobody's here. The tech was supposed to be here between 8-10 on the 18th of August and now it is 10:41.
Why? Why? Why?... Maybe because COX HAS NO COMPETITORS! That's why!
Be aware of this company. I had service for almost one year but once I moved. I bring the modem to ups as the chat person told me to bring it to ups, but one I bring it to ups they said they did not take cox modem and I bring it back home and I called Cox company on how to return the modem but the person on the phone told me that I don't need to return it. So I didn't return it. One month later, Cox bill me $200 for not returning the modem. So be aware, they will trick you into this at the end of the lease. I am not paying this for sure. There is a camera that I was holding cox modem at UPS and I also have a phone record of they told me not to return, if I had to go in court.
I don't know where to begin with the crap service I have received. Once they sell you, they forget you. All these emails and gibberish about what you need to do to set up... HELLOOOOO, that is your job COX! Give me a date and come set up my service. If I ran my business this way, I would not be in business anymore. WORST!
Terrible customer service terrible cable and internet service phone service is awful as well. Since installing cox services I have had myriad problems with cox. In all of it services 10 days after getting cable with them the cable box died and I cancelled service with the cable partion of the bundle I had. I took this as a rather bad sign and it was that indeed. I have had numerous dropped calls on thier VOIP service. They sent a tech out who blamed my phone so I replaced the phone. Did this help? Not at all I have reported problems time and again to them with no action taken to make the problems go away so if you can find some company other than cox I advise using them
Been with Cox Communications for 4 months and there isn't a week that I haven't experienced unexplained outages. Mind you I got a good internet package deal for the money, but what good is it if the internet cuts out now and then with te almost laughably reason "we're experiencing an outage in your area" come on Cox get your act together" Don't know what's wrong with your coax system but you need to get it together. Prior to signing for your services I was with Verizon Fios and seldom in the 3 years I was with them did I have a handful or two the problems I've had with you in 4 month. Common guys you need to adjust my bill for these unexplained outages accordingly.
Cox Cable's "dvr" service is not a true DVR!. With a true dvr, if your service is offline or not working (which is often with Cox) you can still watch a recorded program on your TV. HOWEVER, with Cox dvr, you CANNOT watch any recording when their service is down... which clearly mean "what you have is a cloud service, not a true DVR"! Nothings is actually recorded on that "dvr" that you are paying for... any interrupted cox service, no watching any "recorded" program.
I can't wait till June 2023 (when my contract end) to dump this garbage company! P.S. I would have rated their scrappy service "no stars" if that option was available!
Wow! Just moved in to my place and been here for three days, just trying to get my service hooked up! Customer is the sorrys wow and you can't speak to someone who can help because there sorry they can't do there job.
Had Cox for a few years and they are the absolute worst. Internet constantly going out. Wasn't able to watch the masters due to internet and therefore cable issues. Do not use this service if any other is available, they are the worst!
Customer service agent says outage in the area, nothing they can do, hopefullyup soon. Call 10 minutes later, a different service agent says no area outage, it's the equipment they installed 30 says ago. Maybe service tech can arrive in 2 days. They lie, have no idea what they're doing, provide inconsistent service and charge you for all that.
Answer: Count me in too! Cox needs a lesson in customer service.
