The customer service is absolutely horrible. Especially by the man named Joel. He's extremely impatient and not helpful what so ever. To send a technician out, I have to wait a whole week later without internet after already paying my bill. This is not the first time my internet has gone in and out!

I think many of us Cox customers should just sue and demand our Government to take action against this company. They are throttling upload speeds, blocking business VPN's and randomly interrupting the internet service In order to control usages across the board.

This should be illegal since they advertise that it can play games, work from home and provides internet to over 10 devices. In reality it does not even run one device efficiently and therefore they should be sued for their business practices as this does scam the customers especially without having alternatives in most areas.

Write your congressman and contact the media about these issues should your experience them because Cox will not help you without being forced.

Absolute trash

I pay for the absolute highest internet package. I get constant outages and anytime I need help they have an excuse why they can't. "It will be next Friday before we can get someone out" "there is an outage in the area so we can't schedule anyone until that's cleared up" "our stores are only open 4 days a week they can't help you either" so im stuck with no internet for a week? I can't even get att as it's not available at high speeds in my neighborhood. I hate cox if I had ANY other choice I'd leave them so fast their heads would spin. If you can sign up for any other providers, DO IT!

SCAM COMPANY

After 12mo they place an unexpected uncharged to your service! Worst internet at such an expensive price. I've cancelled my plan 2 times and I am still being charged for servicing I am no longer using. Go ahead and send me to collections $#*! you guys you're not getting another dime from me

Horrible Company!

How does this company get away wish such beyond S#!ty. They are the only choice in this area (Santa Barbara) (real f#uckling free market economy at work here!). Internet has gone down almost a dozen times today, and today was a good day. No accountability or reproductions for them what so ever. Their service is no where near what they advertise and, they don't care that they are providing over priced and terrible service.

When you run a monopoly on internet in a city I guess you can treat customers however you want - and they do! I don't know which is worse - the customer service or the actual internet itself which goes out multiple times a day. The day I never have to interact with Cox again will be a great one.

More money for less

Sad my area only cover this rip off company. I am paying for internet that only give me a certain about of data for the price that I'm paying the cable you only get 1 box for your whole house and that box is only for that room for the price your paying to have cable in one room is a scam. Spectrum would never if you have cable it covers your whole house and cox doesn't have access on your Roku/smart tv to use nor can you access on apple air they are ripping us off with less access over $200 a month

We are prior cox customers yet making us jump through all kinds of hoops because prior tenant didn't pay. Not our problem. Wants us to send all kinds of information via email including photos of license and lease (I get) but will not process without photo of Social security card. We sent card but redacted first 5 digits and left last 4. Sorry but I'm not comfortable sending that much information over the web. We called the number on denial and offered to verbally give the full social, was told NO, it all had to be submitted in full at once. Customer service was rude and when I tried to reiterate we are prior customers in good standing and give the last address of service the phone started ringing and an automated response answered stating someone would call us in 24-48 hours. Not acceptable we are going on 2 weeks with no service with teleworking jobs. We only found out above when our order was "processed" and we called to tell them it never arrived.

Horrible

A monopoly in my neighborhood, they seem to be uncaring as to how unreliable their internet coverage is. Thankfully, a fiber company is installing underground here, and as soon as the flick the on switch, we are dropping Cox. Slow, spotty, unreliable. Three words that best describe Cox internet service

If you're a gamer, do not use cox internet. I've used them for over ten years due to not having any other option where I live. We are always having problems and outages. Believe me when I say I'm not the only one. They have a terrible reputation here. Avoid Cox internet if you can.

I though I could call Cox on lunch hour. Hung up on twice. 3 times individual couldn't speak English (Outsourced India Staffing). Transferred to wrong department 3 calls in. Last call. Number 9 They were finally able to remove the unauthorized charges on my account. I wish I had other options for internet in the Las Vegas Area that is decent. Work from home and rely on affordable internet. That is all for now.

I am leaving Cox

I have been with Cox for over 2 years, but I am leaving due to escalating pricing. People warned me about Cox. I should have listened. Service is not first class, but their pricing is high.
Update: I chose Quantum Fiber to be my provider. They charged me $70/month for a full Gigabyte connection. Cox wrote me asking me to come back. Cox offered half a gig for $70/month. I ended up with a Roku Ultimate and YoutubeTV and several premium streaming channels. I am paying much less than Cox wanted. Quantum and YoutubeTV are never down. Knock on wood. When you finally learn everything YoutubeTV can do; You realize it's amazing. Don't fear changing providers.

We went 6 months without cable while still being charged. Numerous times we called and Numerous times we set up appointments for there technician to come out and fix it and everytime they stood us up. We called and said we could no longer afford the almost 400 dollar bill and we only wanted internet. Thet outright refused to turn our cable off. During the 6 months it got so bad we had to report them to public utilities regulatory authority. This company is allowed to steal and lie to you with impunity. They get bonuses for signing or keeping you on packages you don't want. With that method its ripe for defrauding customers. I hope you go out of business. And if I go before a collections judge I'm going to tell them about how we paid 6 months for cable we never received

If Cox could raise their price each time you go to the bathroom, they would. They are a cable company. Thus if you have Internet and just stream, that really isn't what they want. Their internet service is poor with intermittent drop off's. I intend to cancel when my contract is up and tether my internet through my cell phone, thus totally eliminating ISP fees. With Cox you never know what the fee will be. Sometimes customer service is good, other times it is worthless.

30 year customer

30 year customer in Phoenix here. I finally pulled the plug on these thieves. They jack the rates consistently thinking customers won't go elsewhere. I now stream content 100% of the time and have never been happier.yhey can take their customer service and shove it….along with their programming. Oh, I also have 50 hours of DVR now!

COX Communications gives horrible customer service! Like really awful. The tv/cable remotes keep having issues we can't resolve. I'm pretty tech-savvy and have had to get a technician out twice, which they charge for. Even getting the appt is a huge hasslE. Today I didn't text back a "C" to confirm my appointment I JUST MADE TODAY - so it was automatically cancelled! 30 minutes later I finally have a new appt.
If you text with an agent. They say hi, 5 minutes later ask for your pin, 5 minutes later say thank you... this company seriously drives me crazy. This account is part of my apartment's bundled services/bill otherwise I would have dropped them YEARS AGO! So if you have any choice about it, pick some other company!

I had to give Cox over $60 because they absolutely refused to turn off my wifi after I moved out of my apartment. When I called to ask why I was still being charged, they told me I should have let them know a month in advance that I wouldn't need internet at that location any longer. This despite the fact that I only signed a contract for one year. Not just that, but my rate jumped up by 33% because the "introductory rate" expired after one year. I was able to get them down to a prorated version of my initial rate, but I guess that was just a blatant lie because I just got the bill and it's the exact same as the original one. I will go out of my way to avoid using Cox in the future.

Cox thinks it is ok to limit its customers internet access. They "filtered" the ports on the router (which means closed the ports) and refused to reopen them. They think it is ok to do this like some kind of nanny state nonsense. I can handle MY OWN internet security. They have disallowed me access to my Brothers Plex server. This is not their concern and none of their business. We pay full price for their so called "service" but do not get full internet access. That's just loose butt hole and they can go 'ef their selves. After their little discount for the dissatisfaction, we will be switching to Century Link fiber. Century Link does not take it upon themselves to decide for their customers what they can access or not access. I'd give a big fat zero on the stars here if I could. Cox needs to add the name Suckers or Sockets to their name.

Cox is a joke! I have paid my bill for 8 months on time and have had an outage every single day! They had the audacity to tell me to locate FREE wifi as a resolution to my outages. Never had an internet service this terrible. Please do yourself a favor and find another source of service.
