I qualify for free internet and they continue to draft money from my account. They promise to credit it in the future just to get a bill with a random $5 charge? Xfinity was one million times better!

I live in Lorton and I have business in Lorton to the internet and phone with Cox is very bad when you call them they only give you excuses and apologize that all they can do. For my business they are locky because they are the only service in Lockport I which Verizon take action in our neighborhood as they did in my house neighborhood.
I don't recommend Cox at all you will lose money from both sides

It is always hard to find the right number.
After many disconnects and over an hour.
I ended up with someone in wrong department.
She said her cable company hides the numbers too! And she didn't even know the correct number either?
I finally spoke to someone and told them to cancel the account!
It never got canceled and was never used again!
They never canceled and they have notes that I did request to cancel it in January!
And they know the account wasn't used again too!
I got disconnected 3 times today!
They are NOT INTERESTED IN CUSTOMERS AT ALL!
OR CUSTOMER SERVICE!
They just want to steal money when every they can!

Be very careful if you are thinking of signing up with cox for internet. When I first spoke to them some prices seemed reasonable and the internet speed sounded good, so we decided to do it. Toward the end of the long sign-up process don't let them lull you into a daze. If you pay attention they talk a little faster at the end and their tone changes, letting you know it's finally going to be over, their final speech has to end with you saying yes or okay or something like that. Just before that moment was something I barely caught... the amount of time she stated was much shorter than the plan I signed up for. Instead of yes, I asked her to please repeat that last part and she played the "oh which part" card. I asked how many months. After that it all came out. They never told me the rate would skyrocket shorly after starting service. By the next day, I ended up calling cox back and going with their pay as you go internet because there was no promotional rate. I've used this service for quite some time now. The speed got slower after a short time and never sped back up, but the price stayed the same and it has worked this entire time. You may be wondering why I wrote this long review now and gave them only one star. Well friends, I just received an e-mail from. Cox stating that my bill had changed because my promotional rate had run out. On top of that I was unable to reach a live person by phone or online chat to discuss it loudly.

It is a scam

I tryed to talk to a person in thier chat thing they have on linebut they didnt understand what i was talking about.i have had coxs for about 6 years and they keep getting high er every year im paying almost 3oodollars a month theyhave this place where i live locked in so i cant get any one in here

WORST CABLE COMPANY

They are the worst in everything such SCAMM
I keep paying more for faster net and it gets slower, they disconnect my router every night after midnight we have no net
I requested another modem they scheduled and rescheduled my appointment 7 times. Please please DO NOT WAIST ur time and money with this company they are USELESS

I have spent over an hour today between the chat service and customer service. I am currently on hold for what the computer voice said might be another 20 minutes. Since yesterday my Cox emails cannot be sent through Outlook although I can receive them. I tried to log onto my Cox Webmail and also Cox payment to pay my bill. It will not take my password! Logon gives me an "internal error" message. When I tried to reset my password it said there is no password attached to my account. Let's see - been a customer with the same ID for 20+ years? The so-called technicians on Chat and the first answered phone call couldn't help. I was then transferred to a special tech unit that said call wait time is 25 minutes. Both the Chatter and the first phone lady offered to take my payment information - OF HELL NO! I'm not giving Cox another penny until they freakin' LET ME LOG IN AND FIX THE PROBLEM! PTHETIC excuse for customer care and support.

AVOID THIS INTERNET PROVIDER

I pay for gigablast, one of their most expensive options. Id hope to at least be able to play my game without lag since Im paying over 100 a month for internet right? Nope. I can't even stream Netflix BY ITSELF without it constantly buffering, and when I do decide to try and play my game ( even though I know there's no point because it will be unbearably laggy) I make sure EVERY device is disconnected from the internet to strengthen my chances to be able to play online but no, even with just my PC hooked up to the internet, I still lag. This company should not be in business they charge way overprice you'd be better off buying prepaid 20 dollar wifi than this. Save your time and money and take my advice I've had no other choice but to use them since I live in a military base and when I tell you I am RELIEVED to be getting rid of this absolute excuse of an internet. 0/10, worst internet I've ever had not exaggerating one bit either.

Just gross.

I'm not going to go in super depth here but I've lived at my address for over a year and I've really had a minimum of 45 days WITHOUT SERVICE and legit no remorse from the company and only scripted responses from customer service. I would change in a heartbeat but they have a monopoly in my area and I have no choice.

Never use COX Business Internet as they auto renews their contracts when they end, they abuse small businesses and their customer service is subpar. Very sneaky practice and I tell all our business friends to stay away from COX Business. I would look at other providers before ever using COX Internet.

Is there enough people here who would be interested in looking in to filing a class action against cox? I've been a dedicated customer to this company for over a decade and I absolutely hate them. If I could have comparable service with another company I would in a heartbeat but unfortunately my area doesn't offer any other high-speed internet services that work. I'm tired of paying $300 + every single month with all the different charges, fees, taxes that I don't even know what they are half the time. I NEVER have the same price bill. We can never get anyone to truly help us get anything resolved. They treat long term customers like $#*! for lack of better words. It's got to a point it's disappointing, it's frustrating & frankly unbearable to pay so much. If there are enough people maybe we can force the hand of this monopolizing company who does not care about their customers. It's enough. It doesn't help that we literally pay for gigablast internet services and still have issues constantly. We could at least get what we pay for you'd think. Anyone truly interested in taking it to this next extreme?! I don't see them doing anything to help or fix these problems without going to this extent.

COX CABLE SUCKS, literally, after many times it will not connect to netflix, but have no problem connecting to any other streaming, it's always going out, always saying trouble shooting its always something, im always calling always seeing a cox truck in my neighborhood,
I mean come on, and it's included in my rent, so why should I pay for something that I don't even have, get it together COX CABLE, as matter of fact there is this unamed I will not say, competition that's trying to take over because of your lousey connection service tenants are tired of the crap.

Here is yet another issue with paying my bill less than a year after the last big issue. I called in to talk about my bill as it continues to grow without notice, at least none I'm aware of. So I was sent to the retention loyalty group and spoke to Lucy. She offered me a promotional rate which gave me a healthy discount and retained my current services. She told me how much to pay which I did and all was good until the next bill. The following bill had a past due amount of the discount. I called the normal representative and he could find no record of my account with Lucy. He switched me to retention. They found it and after a long talk and being told there was no supervisor on duty that she would credit the disputed amount but would have to send me to collections for it to happen. Fine, but now collections tells me they can't do that and transfers me to the regular operator who says its impossible to credit there and sends me back to retention where now that person says I was too late when I called in to have this deal done even though Lucy made the deal binding by reading me terms and conditions and my rights. So Cox makes a binding mistake and instead of honoring the mistake if in fact it was a mistake, retro charges me. Mind you over an hour later and circling through their incompetent employees and promises. No responsibility on their part just pay up. I did pay for service reasons but am open to another company after 20 years because the company has grown too big to care about their customers! To be fair after my complaints to the BBB on the original issue last year a rep called me and solved the problem and that was great but why did my issue have to go nationwide before Cox gave a hoot?

Trying to pay my bill just like the last 20 years but their billing agent typed my account number in wrong after she made several attempts. Of course it bounced because it wasn't my account number. Other agents have admitted it but Cox will not contact me or communicate and have blocked all my bank accounts for the last 6 weeks and are trying to charge me for their mistake. This borders on or is actually criminal. The ones in charge are nameless faceless people that even phone and store agents can't call. I guess they are asking for a lawsuit or for their regulators to get involved. Stupidity at its finest!

Cox is laughably bad-everything about it is bad. And you pay top dollar for this terrible, terrible service.
First of all, often their reception is bad. I had so many problems with my cable TV reception at my old apartment complex-even though their repairmen came out there several times.
Just terrible, terrible Customer Service. First of all, the workers (who seem to obviously be from India) often can't speak very good English and they don't even understand what your issue is-regardless of how straightforward it is. They are often as incompetent as can be. I've often even been told many different conflicting things from different personnel. On my current issue, I've spent probably FIVE HOURS on chat when this issue probably should have been resolved in 15 MINUTES. Even the simplest of issues takes hours and hours to resolve and I've had to contact them over and over and over.
Where I live, there aren't a lot of options. I would leave Cox in a heartbeat. What a terrible company! I wish I could give them negative 100!

After 20+ years with Cox communications for TV, internet, and phone service, I had finally become disgusted at the countless number of unprofessional billing service lies received. The service itself was great though. The latest was when I spoke to a billing rep to discuss another Cox bundle discount where the rep stated he could reduce my monthly bill by $20 and include HBO for the same current service (which I asked twice if it's for the exact same services). After calling again, I found out that my internet service would be downgraded from 250Mbps to 50Mbps. This is just one example of the many "bait and switch" type of service that I had received for almost 20 years. Most of the lies were where the rep provided me a new bundle price which was always lower than the actual bill received. Because all of these transactions were done via phone call, there's no full confirmation email of the services changes except that my service changed email (attached). I am not the only Cox customer with these types of bundle discount issues. Most of my neighbors are frustrated as well. Out of this frustration, I decided to cancel all services.

Another frustrating experience has been to return Cox equipment where I received an email stating I would receive another email with a list of Cox devices to return but I never received it. After driving to Cox store to return equipment, they told me I had to also return another device associated with the Cablecard. I then had to needlessly drive back to Cox store again.

Hard to think of a worse customer service!
Ordered the StraightUp Internet service online. They got me the Essential internet service instead, and sent the "wrong" equipment.
After about 3 hrs on and off on the phone with customer service, they cancelled the Essential and ordered the StraightUp one for me, including the shipping of the "correct" modem (with a $15 expedite fee which I did not request).
Got an email confirmation for the new order, then 3hrs later another email stating that the order is completed and I had picked up the equipment!
That would be the fastest package delivery in my experience.
According to 3 reps, I need a different modem.
According to other 2 (including a supervisor in Sales), I do not.
They charged $50 as equipment deposit, whereas their website says "No Deposit" for this service. Then cannot find the charge.
They transfer you from department to department. Every time you need to authenticate yourself and half the time they drop the call. They never call back although they check that they have the correct number.
All customer support is absolutely clueless, don't share the same information, contradict themselves and the email communication that you get, etc.
A complete nightmare, choose another Internet provider if you can and save your sanity.
