They charged me about $1,000 for an item that showed in-stock. When I checked days later, it showed as back-ordered with no estimated ship date. I waited for half an hour to chat with a representative, asked to cancel my order, and the representative was terse and robotic. With all the other options available on the internet, don't waste your time with this company.
I ordered a printer and ink from CDW in April. It said the printer was not back ordered, but expected to ship in the end of April. It shipped the ink, but every two weeks I check, speak to a human, and they tell me they checked and the printer will be shipped shortly, usually a week or two away. Call again and same story, with a new promised shipping date. At end of June, they told me it would ship in a couple days, on July 1. It is July 3 and still shows as not shipped. They just lie to you to get you off the phone.
We have had to cancel multiple orders due to ordering parts that were "in stock" just to find out they were being drop shipped in a month. Contacted customer support closer to the arrival date and they had been delayed further. They simply do not even bother to pretend to care. Terrible place to order from.
I thought CDW was a trustworthy online merchant that could really execute, until my most recent order. I ordered a new laptop to be a birthday present, two weeks before it was needed. The site indicated that the laptop was in stock and would be delivered in about 3 days. Well, nine days later they send me a backorder notification. But here's the kicker: the site still showed the laptop as in-stock and delivery in 3 days. So I fired off an email; there was never an answer, but shortly afterward I got a shipment notification. If I hadn't fired off the email, I'd probably still be waiting. Poor execution!
I used to buy all of my IT equipment from dell from the client PCs to the server and switches. Dell then became way too expensive for what you get and their service became nonexistant. I tried out CDW and they have the other asian type of brands a much better prices and they have great support as well. I say if you are an old Dell customer to try them out and no I do not work for CDW, just wanted to give them a big thumbs up.
Prices are high, but they have been around for ages, they filled my order. Would use again if I can't find the equipment elsewhere.
Fair prices if no contract good pricing with contract many awesome items
I use to buy some items from them a long time ago as they have been around for quite some time. I know that one of my cousins buys all the computer/server related items for his business there & he swears by it.
I would in fact refer anyone here who has use for their inventory, but be sure to shop around like you should with any site. Unless you don't mind paying more, and not saying you will with these guys.
I give CDW 5 stars because I never had any issues with them.
So, after waiting for 3+ hours on their HORRIBLE CHAT, they say, here look at UPS Tracking number.
So, look at ups tracking number and info. Delivery address is correct, but status shows being returned to SENDER.
It's impossible to talk to a real person.

Ordered software. No reply... then emailed got an email stating some errant was looking into it? Then as the third day passed (1-2) days delivery. Called them, behold. They could not get it or t was the wrong item. Called them we cannot get this but we can charge you TWICE the amount for another exactly the same. So... NEVER will we use this bunch f comedians again. Nor should you.
I ordered a product from CDW and they wanted me to perform a bank wire after already talking with them multiple times and even after they put a temporary authorization on my card. I was traveling and on an insecure WiFi and so I had to use a VPN to make the purchase. While they did not say it was the VPN that cause the fraud flag, that was what probably cause them to block my order and all future purchases without giving them a ton of personal information. Essentially don't bother with them when you are traveling.
They are also really behind the times. Just because you order something from them and get a confirmation email, does not mean that the order has been committed in the back office. There seems to be some sort of manual process for every order.
Ordered 33 laptops, checked stock on the phone with a rep before placing the order to confirm all are available. Once we received shipment, we were 8 laptops short. Checking with customer service they say 8 are on back order. No notification, no response to my emails for over a week. When ask to process a return and refund for the 8 on back order, I have to call another number to probably be given the run around. I've worked with several resellers but this is the worst customer service. Would recommend you shop elsewhere even if you have to pay more.
First request, told they would look into it. Second request, they needed to know if I have a dock at the warehouse.
Third request, it's back ordered. Now attempting to cancel the order. Will not use this company again!
Ordered a product on the site that said it's in stock and shipping 3-5 days. It's been almost 3 months and still no product. I called today and the gentleman said, "why don't you call the manufacturer and ask why you don't have the product". Then he said he's been doing this a long time and that over 1900 customers aren't receiving products at this time. I won't be shopping with them ever again nor referring any business to them. Terrible customer service.
Purchased a new HP Z2 G5 PC. None of the USB ports work. Operating system was missing. Worst company ever. This company is like a chop shop. They sell off brand computers and like a chop shop, mix and matches parts that don't even go with the computer. We really need to bankrupt this company.
On 11/28/2017 we ordered licensing for a 3 year product. After a little over a year (Approx January 2019) the licensing stopped working. I have been asking for a refund or a fix to our problem since March 2019. They have continued to procrastinate the issue and have resulted to just flat out ignoring it. Not only has this cost us $3,942.72 we are losing money and productivity by not having access to these licenses, and further we have to pay other IT people to try and resolve this issue. It is an embarrassment how horribly they have handled this situation. Never do business with this company, unless you want to waste a god awful amount of time speaking to their useless team.

They'are selling items back-ordered as if they actually have. After I noticed, I canceled my order and request a refund, but they don't give you clear answer. What the rep says just "Ok!". Just two letters. That's it. They didn't tell me if they actually cancelled and processed my refund. I believe requesting a charge-back is the only way. Do not buy anything from CDW. Worst online seller.
Their website is clunky and hard to work with, but their customer service is even worse. I order 6 items from them. 5 were backordered and they can't tell me when I'll get the rest. They charged $20 shipping for a $10 item, when the original shipping (on $145) was only going to be $30. Worst of all, I can't get the salesperson to email or call me back. They're worse than McDonalds's.
For a technology company, they do not instill any confidence.
Tried to register a business account and after 28 hours, still had not received the activation confirmation email, called customer service and they told me to wait because it can take 2-3 days... WTF? For a confirmation email that should be able to be processed immediately! After 48 hours still no email so called and finally spoke to someone that had to manually activate the account. Went ahead and purchased the license I needed for a device our company had acquired---a digital license and 4 days later it is still in the "Not Shipped Yet" category. Again, WTF! I purchase a lot of licenses from other tech companies and a digital license never takes more than an hour to show up in my inbox. CDW customer service is horrible and speaking to the reps they all sound defeated. This company should not be using the term "Technology" in any of what they do, will never get any of my future business.
Answer: Scam company, they will collect your data. Then after some time claim that the product is discontinued.
Answer: It is a fortune 500 company. This is why I chose to buy from them. The company I worked for also buy from them. But they are pretty bad in customer service
