A coworker in-advertently created ads for our dental office on my personal account on office computer. So, I had to get a free monthly to download and transfer to the office. I did not get a reminder that the membership was coming due. I forgot about it until I think the date of renewal, I logged in and tried to cancel the membership, it looked like the cancellation was accepted. Canva's account manager looks like a personal account? I thought it was cancelled an all was ok. NO, IT WAS NOT. I was charged the yearly membership and now three emails and 3 attempts to cancel, it's not super easy to find where to cancel, no support at all for this problem. My computer was not working and impossible to do on your phone app. NOT HAPPY, WITH CHARGES, NO RESPONSE TO MY EMAILS OR REQUEST TO PRO-RATE AND REFUND. I now have a $390.00 Canva account to do what? Make birthday cards for my mother? Agghh! The lack of help, support, contact information is really disappointing for such a company.
I could not figure out how to cancel. Only way to get help to cancel is through web-chat. Nothing like staring at a screen to get help because they have no customer service phone number. I cancelled the day before automatic renewal and was still forced to pay for the next month. I don't feel the site is user friendly, if it was it wouldn't be so confusing to cancel.
Two big complaints-
1. No customer service phone number. They don't want to talk to the people who pay them or have billing questions. "Go away, just send us your money."
2. Website is difficult to navigate if you have questions that relate to stopping the money suck.
I was having a present time creating a video invite for a relative on mine using a 24 hr canva pro pass. I had paid for it using my debit card (70 INR). I made a last minute change after the 24 hr period and clicked download. The thing is I was using 3 "premium" assets so the bill came up to 967 INR. I assumed I could find a payment option when I clicked on download file but it just made the transaction using my cards details it had saved. No PIN no confirmation. This POS website is designed to take your money. 1/10.
I've used and paid for canva for several years. In the last year, not a day goes by when I canva tells me there are problems on their end. Nothing loads. I'm dead in the water. Why charge customers for crappy service? AWFUL service.
Their customer service is useless. They messed up my business cards with angled cuts and black lines through my QR codes and blamed me. Then, eventually, admitted that they caused the problem. Then, rather than work with me to solve the issue, they gave me a refund to brush me off. I kept telling them I didn't need a refund or even a reprint. I just wanted to solve the issue so I could get correct orders in the future. Yet they chose to gaslight me and brush me off. Additionally, I kept asking for a quick call to properly articulate my issues, but they repeatedly told me they have no phone service. Terrible business. I have communications to support my claims.
Canva was an absolute nightmare. They make things look great but when designing on their site download your videos, they are completely different. Their customer support, although they pretend to care, only ask for screen recording after screen recording after screen recording and are never satisfied with what you send them. What a horrible experience. My advice is to save your money and time and steer clear from Canva.
Canva has become my go-to platform for creating stunning designs and graphics, even with minimal design experience. The platform's drag-and-drop interface, customizable templates, and extensive library of assets make it easy to bring my creative vision to life. I appreciate Canva's versatility and accessibility, allowing me to design everything from social media graphics and presentations to flyers and posters. Moreover, the platform's collaboration features and seamless sharing options enhance teamwork and streamline our design workflow. With Canva, I can unleash my creativity and produce professional-quality designs that captivate and inspire.
Canva has been critiqued for issues like bugs and failing to adequately preserve the formatting of PowerPoint presentations. Users have reported problems with the platform not living up to its promises in terms of functionality and reliability, particularly when it comes to converting or maintaining the integrity of PowerPoint files. Despite its wide range of features, these technical shortcomings can be significant drawbacks for those relying on it for professional or complex design tasks.
I recently started using Canva and I couldn't be more impressed with its functionality and user-friendly interface. The app has made a significant impact on my daily routine, streamlining tasks and providing valuable insights. The developers have clearly put a great deal of thought and effort into creating a top-notch app that caters to its users' needs. I highly recommend Canva for anyone looking to simplify their life and increase productivity.
On 20th Dec I subscribed to Canva. I did get an invoice, but not with a GPA number. This purchase was made directly through them and NOT Google. I decided that I did not want to continue with Canva that their software was not what I was looking for.
I'm not even looking for a refund. However, after 10 emails and more to and from, they don't even read the content of my emails and keep telling me they cannot unsubscribe me and I must go through Google. Google on the other hand say I'm not subscribed to Canva through Google (which I'm aware of). But now I'm made to feel like a complete idiot from Canva who insists there is nothing they can do to unsubscribe me, that they cannot unsubscribe me incase the unsubscribe the wrong account. My gosh, I've never heard anything so bizarre.
Please can someone out there advise on where to go from here. This process has been a nightmare to say the least.
So what, am I to pay USD$9.99 per month indefinitely?!
I love Canva! I've been using it since I started streaming a few months ago. I use it for posters, calendars, and other social media content.
There are so many good things about it. I mentioned a few things on the my video here, but I really would like to emphasize that their free workshops were so informative and easy to understand.
The interface was not that easy to navigate at first, but once you get the hang of it, it's pretty basic.
The free version was quite useful, but once you try the Pro version there's no going back. With so many available templates, elements, fonts, photos, etc. available you wont really need to look somewhere else for inspiration.
For individuals working in the digital/online industry, I highly recommend Canva.

What has this business world become? Caught-throat indeed. I tried Canva and canceled within the stipulated time. To my surprise, my card was charged for $119.99 for 1yr. I disputed the charges but Canva refused to refund my money claiming that I'd agreed to subscribe for a year. No, I did not. This is an awful business practice. I guess they're in business to rip off people with no intention of doing the right thing. They are burning bridges. Words do get around.
This website made me cry i am i am a student at a middle school and i had a project the required me to use some type of document i try Canva and it made me cry it kept recommending words that i had already wrote down in the same spelling do not use this website it sucks balls
I thought I needed to be an expert or have some decent knowledge to edit pictures, but I was terribly wrong
With Canve everybody can be a graphic designer at least a beginner one to fulfil some personal needs, and even more if you upgrade your account. Yes, for more advanced features you will need to upgrade to a paid version, which is a little bit peh... But I guess they need to make some profit in order to maintain this amazing company, right!?
My point is that Canva has made complex to be simple. I own a small business and recently I created a template for everything I need and use in my everyday business, which in the end came out as a complete redesign of my brand.
Canve saved me a lot of money. If I would hire a graphic designer to get what I did, it would probably cost me a fortune. And I believe the quality is pretty much the same because they have plenty of ready templates to choose from.
I got charged for a year's worth of service, tried to cancel, and ended up in this endless loop where I was told I couldn't dispute the transaction because I needed to contact them. When I tried to contact them, I got an email saying they couldn't help me because there was a disputed transaction. I never got my money back, didn't get a single thing for the money whatsoever, and they literally canceled my membership with the email message, "This is goodbye." The only phone number I could find merely tells you to go to the website and then hangs up on you. I am guessing that they don't answer phone calls because that would require hiring a lot of operators to handle complaints, whereas email complaints can be bulk rejected by a computer.
This website was very unclear about its automatic charges! Don't use this business unless you are willing to accept that they will continue to siphon off money from your account even if you do not use their services! I ended up paying over £20 for one card design. Don't get involved with this company.
I have wasted 2 hours editing and designing a work document and canva has continually displayed a message "saving has stalled" with bogus advice to copy recent text changes to clip board and reload page. I made multiple movements of text and color changes as well as format changes which this stupid advice does not even address. I've lost all of my work three times today. In addition I copied the poster (duplicate) to try working on it freshly and renamed it, and Canva would not let me edit the document AT ALL. No tools or editing options are displayed. I am so frustrated and there is no real customer service available who will resolve problems like this for people with working deadlines. Maybe I'll hear from them in a week or two? Just totally unacceptable and frustrating. So much so that I had to write this review to warn people who use this for serious work or deadlines that this is what you're dealing with.
I thought it was too good to be true, I designed my thank you cards through canva and then it gave me the option to print! So easy! Just print it through them.
So thats what I did with so much excitement about my first thank you cards for my new business.
WRONG. They took my money and the order was marked done. But the tracking says it has not been picked up or processed and that was over 10 days ago.
Email them, nothing. Facebook messenger message "seen".
No replies.
They have purposely made it literally impossible to contact ANYONE. Its like its run by a bunch of teens who got lucky and who just hang out drinking all day and talking about wide leg pants.
How is this company worth a billion dollars yet they cannot appoint someone to be customer service?
It's disgusting, its literally just a company who got lucky with their templates. THERE is no professionalism at all.
DO NOT USE.
Ordered business cards from my design. Done this a few times so not super excited to open boxes to inspect when they arrived. When I needed the new cards I opened the boxes (only 5-6 weeks after receiving them) to discover the black background of the cards was brown. I was stunned. I immediately contacted Canva, but I had just missed the 30 day window, so too bad, too sad. No refund or replacement. I provided photos of the completed defective product. They could not care less. They charge me every month - this meant nothing to them. Canva is a very bad company in my opinion.
Answer: That was one of my issues. No active link to cancel the free trial subscription.
Answer: There is zero support. Until they do something about it, don't begin with them. Try Snappa instead.
Canva has a rating of 1.7 stars from 259 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Canva most frequently mention customer service, free trial and phone number. Canva ranks 490th among Graphic Design sites.
