Ordered business cards from my design. Done this a few times so not super excited to open boxes to inspect when they arrived. When I needed the new cards I opened the boxes (only 5-6 weeks after receiving them) to discover the black background of the cards was brown. I was stunned. I immediately contacted Canva, but I had just missed the 30 day window, so too bad, too sad. No refund or replacement. I provided photos of the completed defective product. They could not care less. They charge me every month - this meant nothing to them. Canva is a very bad company in my opinion.
This app is the worst app I have ever used before. It continually crashes constantly. In the last month The program crashed five times. I have it all documented. Right now I can't even get into Canva so that's why I'm writing here. I cannot even get through to anybody to help me back into my account. I have tried every option and I am exhausted by this app. If it was run properly it would be one of the best apps out there. If anybody from canva is reading this review now I would appreciate a response!
This website is a big fraud. They charged me $240 for stock photos. As a Canva pro member (paid member since last 6 months), I was eligible for unlimited stock photos. Now I have been trying to contact them for 5 days now and nobody replies. I chatted to them on facebook and they were so rude. NEVER EVER give your card details to these guys.
Do not create an account with this website! I used them for about six months with a pro subscription. After I cancelled it, I was charged over $300+ total in random charges with each download - with no warnings for charges. I was not aware of the charges and there is no customer chat, phone number, email- I just got a warning for charges from my bank. I had to find a way to dispute the charges, and they replied that they will not refund me. You can't report them with the better business bureau because they are based in Sydney Australia. They do not have an address reported on their website, I had to search for it on Google. Do not use this "company"!
Its unbelievable how many glitches this program has. There are so many things that dont work and when you contact them they take forever to get back to you only to say were working on it. Just spent an hour redoing some text only to lose all of it after several saves because the program is stupid. All I did was hit control z three times and it erased hours of work and text, 100's of words. Tried to redo and nothing happened! F u canva. This is what I get for not knowing photoshop. Oh yeah I've been paying for this crap.
This type of stuff happens all the time. It's a mess, clunky, not well thought out for the paying service.
There was a serious delay on the delivery, local Fedex was at fault. Fedex never responded to me, nor did they ever contact me, while Canva replied on the same day. Since these were wedding invitations, which were time sensitive, they expedited a second delivery and gave me a coupon for another purchase, all the while being super professional and very quick in their responses. Absolutely amazing.
I've only ordered business cards--so happy with them I reordered a few months later--so I can't speak to others' experiences. I recently started my own business and this seemed like an easy way to get customized cards fast. And it was. The cards came exactly as I'd designed them, with vibrant colors. I appreciated the auto-correct that informed me that my lettering wasn't centered when I was designing them, and they arrived very quickly and in a handsome box. Super affordable too. When I had trouble with Paypal on the reorder, customer support was there and responded to my emails quickly. Highly recommend.
When I used Canva, it wasn't bad, but when I closed down my tab when I was done with it for the day, it didn't save. I don't know why. I had to start all over again. Also, Canva keeps on messaging me. I have received over 15 emails from them in the last month.
Anyway, Canva wasn't bad, just remember not to close down your tab!
I thought I needed to be an expert or have some decent knowledge to edit pictures, but I was terribly wrong
With Canve everybody can be a graphic designer at least a beginner one to fulfil some personal needs, and even more if you upgrade your account. Yes, for more advanced features you will need to upgrade to a paid version, which is a little bit peh... But I guess they need to make some profit in order to maintain this amazing company, right!?
My point is that Canva has made complex to be simple. I own a small business and recently I created a template for everything I need and use in my everyday business, which in the end came out as a complete redesign of my brand.
Canve saved me a lot of money. If I would hire a graphic designer to get what I did, it would probably cost me a fortune. And I believe the quality is pretty much the same because they have plenty of ready templates to choose from.
Tried to cancel before free trial ended, impossible to do through website. Unable to contact by email or phone. Ended up paying 12-month subscription but locked out of my 'account' at same time. Pay-Pal absolutely no help. Had to cancel my credit card to avoid further deductions. Avoid
When u contact a company several times and there is no freaking response, only surveys that ask how well they resolved ur issue, your help will not come. Just kiss your money goodbye people. If it had rightly been returned to me i could have really used it for Christmas. So frustrating.
Hyperlinks don't work when converting to.pdf. Too many childish elements, very difficult to keep it professional looking. Can't even insert a drop cap, what the hell is that? Support is completely nonexistent.
Several hours writing a detailed work proposal wiped in seconds!
Definitely not recommended unless you have endless hours to keep re-writing the same document. Save function doesn't work, don't know how you can do a simple design edit and lose pages of carefully scripted text.
Who has the time or patience for this stuff, dreadful functionality.
Been using Canva for the past year
This is my personal review based on experiences
The Good
1. The Paid version is the better option
2. It's really fully loaded & provide Great value for the price
3. Easy to use. Many options. Refreshes graphics options often so not always the same
4. Templates also make work easier & faster
The Bad
1. Finding files - often search does not work well
2. Does not always show completed projects - hard to find them even when organized
3. Sometimes even when set to highest quality some jpg images can be grainy
Overall, Canva in my opinion is a really great option. Not as fancy as Photoshop by any means but much better priced and makes it so anyone can easily create awesome looking graphics.
Recommend it

Canva randomly disconnected from my Instagram Business account and insisted that my Instagram was a personal account (it's not). About 15 emails and 2 weeks later, they still refuse to answer my question as to what happened or accept responsibility, or even expedite the fix. When I asked for compensation, they gave me a "coupon" which can only be used by new users. Pathetic.
At first I thought I was losing my mind, but after carefully testing it, I realized Canva changes minute details of your text or design while saving. Great way to look stupid even after reviewing and editing!
Had trouble setting up account. 24 hr turn around. Hmm. Trouble finding whether or not I can make a cover for a paperback book. Multiple email requests for help. No response. The site "book cover" is for e-books only. Terrible business model.
I cancelled the "free trial" BEFORE the trial period was over. They still charged me $199.99 for a full year. They refused to refund my money. Customer service was a joke. Do not sign on with this company. Gimp is a much better software and it's free.
Canva charged us $119 when we didn't buy anything. We had stuck with the free version and didn't give Canva any of our information, but for some reason, our bank account got charged and we can't reverse it. We've been to the website support for a refund but it won't let us submit our response. We've tried calling their phone number *******388 but an automated voice responded and then hung up. We have not been able to contact them at all and are now calling our bank. I've seen that a lot of other people have had similar problems and It really sucks that Canva is this irresponsible, and possibly stealing from people who haven't bought anything.
I've been trying to contact Canva over a month to try to resolve an access issue. I sent messages through their not so helpful HELP portal every other day and multiple requests in one day with the hope someone gets back to me to resolve my issue. As of today I've heard nothing. They were quick on charging me a membership right after the trial period, but no replies to customer not even acknowledging receipt of the issue is very disappointing.
Answer: That was one of my issues. No active link to cancel the free trial subscription.
Answer: There is zero support. Until they do something about it, don't begin with them. Try Snappa instead.
