Canva is great for graphic design - within limits - but god forbid you ever have a problem with your billing or need any kind of support or customer service. It is nonexistent. You have to just troll through all their FAQ which answers everything BUT the question you want to know the answer to.
I must have signed up on a trial basis for work, I was NEVER sent an email that I would be billed monthly. 10 payments later of 12.95 I was still being billed.
Horrible customer service. I do not recommend them to anyone.
Was very excited to use this and thought it might be the missing piece to my real estate business. I use similar sites to create flyers. Nothing seemed to load or be changed out easily and although I spent a significant amount of time on it, never ended up with anything I could use. Getting my money back.
Fairly easy to use. I'm an RN and use it for a "health tips" in-house newsletter. It suffices but currently I'm having an issue with "ghosting." Seeing very faint images of text, no longer in my file but visible, faintly as a pale gray. There seems to be no way whatsoever to obtain support. I'm disappointed and will look for another newsletter maker.
Ordered printing, asked about order, no information supplied, no PERSON to contact, no number to confirm order. This order was time-sensitive. Not appreciated. Only response was order refunded. Left with scrambling to see if I can get someone to print this and see if I can get it to the conference on time. Loss of thousands in potential business; for sure loss of my time and conference costs. Crazy lack of customer service at best an email once a day in reply.
My team has sent multiple requests to the customer service team and it is a joke. We send a message with no response and after two days they tell us since they haven't heard from us in two days they are going to consider our ticket closed. We are given no chance to fix our issue and it seems like every path we try to get some kind of help we are dismissed. I think canva is a great tool but the customer service aspect has been absolutely awful. I would like to continue using canva but currently, I am going to have to start looking for other options so my team can continue to do their job.
I like the templates and the elements and was using them enough to justify premium. The trial period is quite generous and monthly fee is not bad. Improvements could be made to the editor as it's quite clunky and cumbersome. There's no flow and batch edits are difficult. Overall tho, I'd say it's easy and the templates are attractive.
My card was charged for a service I have never subscribed. No warning email, nothing! I was just "surprise by a year subscription invoice and the credit card I used to use to buy single material in their website charged for £107, so frustrating and disappointed with this service trying to sneak in automatic charges without proper warning. I have now cancelled my "subscription" straightaway and I want to see if a refund will be given.
I wish I had seen all those one star reviews before I started dealing with Canva. If you ever make the mistake of paying Canva, they will raid your account forever, even though you canceled your account. Canva are totally dishonest. No integrity. The service itself is clunky and mostly useless, that is why I canceled.
There's lot of great things we can say about Canva, but their customer service to paying subscribers is not acceptable, and someone like Trading Standards needs to address this with them.
Aside from the fact that their subscription system is the most confusing thing out, they will not reply to support tickets in any timely and reasonable manner? They are certainly not a partner you can rely on in anyway for a business in their current operating state. It is, as another user says here verging on fraud. If they can just simply address their lack of personal service, and restore confidence in their users, their platform is market leading.
Meanwhile, for one our clients, we have now switched to Snappa.
Come on Canva. Tell us how you are going to make things different?
Entrapping design to make you pay more. The picture said 1 usd but when I went to remove watermark it switched the wording to credits and it appeared the minimum was $10 dollars. Thinking that I would have credits leftover I purchased it. Turns out I paid 10 dollars for a watermark removal. Well it get's worst. Typically this is just a miscommunication or misunderstanding and can easily be fixed. Well not with canva, they want every penny they can get. The attitude when I emailed was guarding and defensive and they fell pack on their stupid policies and terms of use 9.2 blah blah blah. Shady behaviour instead of offering good customer service and adjusting the price.
I have been using Canva for more than 5 years and have really gotten all my family and colleagues on the Canva bandwagon. WE absolutely love and enjoy the ease of use and brilliant design it has continued to offer and improve.
I had opted for a free trial of Canva Pro and subsequently forgot to cancel the same. As I had a team member on the Canva Team, the subscription fee was charged for both of us. Being an international student, this was an immense expense that derailed my budget for the month, and possibly the year.
Nonetheless, Once i approached Canva and explained my situation, the team offered a full refund as a gesture of good will. Additionally giving me 90 days on the subscription, free of charge to reconsider purchasing he subscription later. This was more than I expected and unbelievably nice of them!
Kudos to the team, I am for sure never letting go.
I've been fighting with Canva for a couple of weeks now. Simple functions, if they exist, are cumbersome and take a number of steps. Inconsistencies come out of nowhere. Cut and paste doesn't exist. At the moment, I'm trying to copy pages from one design to another - I don't think I can. The help doesn't, and I've had to use google search to find out how to do things because the steps in the program aren't there. It's like the whole program assumes you know your whole design, photos and templates first and get it right first time. Not practical.
Canva must watch reviews.
Checking my email (one day after I posted my review) I was surprised to see they had canceled my account and refunded my money.
Their product might work for you, but I'm no kinda graphic designer.
The Business: Canva A graphic design support company in Australia
About me: A retired engineer and an active writer
I briefly flirted with this company three months ago. I now wish I'd looked harder. To get the "free" trial period, I had to set up an account. Once I actually got into the platform, I saw it is not what I was looking for. Functions are at best clunky, and the design issues (royalties, cross-platform, and editing) are not improved- just renamed. I immediately canceled my account.
The following month, the card I had used to set up the "free" account was hacked in an un-related (I think) incident. My bank (at my request) canceled that card and issued me another card with a new number. With that, I thought my experience with Canva had ended.
This morning, I opened my email to see Canva had debited my NEW card $119. I had to reopen my old account to complain about this.
Their "customer service" consists of a promised email and a clause saying they usually don't issue refunds.
I purchased a photo to use for my business facebook cover page. It would not upload, down load etc. When it did, it still had the watermarks which not have been there. Unfortunately, I paid for the $10.00 credits.
Fast forward after hours of trying to make my photo work and it did not.
Canva does not have customer support. I finally messaged them on facebook. They refused to refund my money even after admitting they are aware that their photos where not uploading correctly and sent me back to their computer system.
This company is trash.
As an art student, I recently created a canvas presentation for my research paper using Canva, and it was an absolute game-changer!
Canva, is an easy-to-use, web-based platform that offers design tools and templates perfect for any creative project. Even as a novice, I found it incredibly user-friendly, allowing me to design with ease.
One of Canva's standout features is its vast library of design elements, including fonts, images, and illustrations. This resource allowed me to craft a visually captivating presentation that aligned perfectly with my research theme.
Canva's customization options are fantastic. I had the freedom to adjust layouts, colors, and fonts to match my personal style and academic requirements, creating a presentation that not only conveyed my research but also reflected my artistic sensibilities.
Collaboration was seamless with Canva, enabling real-time group work. Its compatibility with multiple devices and platforms made it incredibly convenient, allowing me to work from anywhere.
Canva also offers a selection of presentation animations and transitions that added a dynamic dimension to my canvas, engaging my audience effectively.
In summary, Canva is a must-try for art students and anyone looking to create visually striking presentations. Its user-friendliness, creative versatility, and customization options make it a valuable tool. Canva, thank you for turning my research into a work of art!
I wish I had seen all these reviews about Canva's charging after the free trial. I cancelled my account and got charged days after. I have not received an answer from the customer service until now. I am very upset with the whole situation.
Impossible to input images on certain computers and a hassle to do it on others with almost 0 free images, very buggy when trying to orient images and text. I could only recommend this is you needed a reason to throw your computer out the window. :(( (((
Compared to a lot of things on the market, this tool was easy and relatively low-priced, well, updates have made this tool a pile of trash. I don't know who is in charge of it, but they need to wipe the team completely, the changes they've made are mind-numbingly stupid and do little else for you besides make the experience 10x worse. Editing things in this trash tool has become more difficult than simply using Adobe, which is absolutely astounding.
The worst customer service. I've gone from love to serious distrust in a matter of weeks. I decided to try Canva Pro using a 3rd party promotion code. The code did not apply and I immediately contacted customer service to have them help me fix it (why not cancel the order and reprocess it?) Customer service is slow to respond and unhelpful - there is a lot of finger pointing and 'there is nothing we can do but wait. I had to get my bank involved. Be very careful as you are powerless once they have your credit card.
Answer: That was one of my issues. No active link to cancel the free trial subscription.
Answer: There is zero support. Until they do something about it, don't begin with them. Try Snappa instead.
Canva has a rating of 1.8 stars from 259 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Canva most frequently mention customer service, free trial and phone number. Canva ranks 490th among Graphic Design sites.
