Recently, for the first time, I used Budget Air to book a ticket from Paris to Chicago. In the terms and conditions, it was mentioned that flight is modifiable. Moreover, I paid extra fees so that I could modify my booking if required. For modification, the process is highly cumbersome. You have to go through a chatbot to connect to a customer service executive who takes 15 mins. You cannot modify your team yourself. Every day after this exercise, the customer service executive has a standard reply that AIrline has not made fares for rebooking available. The flight for the desired date is listed on their portal but they say fares have not been made available by the airline. For a flight that is scheduled less than a week later how can they not have fares listed?
It was never mentioned in the Terms and conditions that the ticket is not refundable. So they have a very coy modus Operandi: Do not offer modification so that frustrated customers will cancel the ticket and they can pocket the entire fare amount.
I requested the executives if I can get notified once the new fares are available, and they said they can't so every day I have to sit in front of a screen for 20 mins to get the same standard reply that remodification fares are not made available.
Cannot express the agony and plight I am going through because I chose Budget air. Never ever going to use it in the future. Others should be Beware.

I bought 5 for I and my family tickets from Beirut to Abidjan (Africa) departure was on 24/12/2020 on Xmas eve were i and family have aBug Party With All Families there one stop in France for 4 hours which I didn't mind and carry on to Abidjan, after I paid £3480 this rubbish company they don't know you're after you pay.
In Beirut, Middle East airline didn't let us on plane because they said you require transit visa, which is By Franch Low is Clearly Saying We Don't Need a Transit Visa Elso Said Go Back To Bugdeair To get your refund,I contacted more than 15 time on chat as they have No Phone Number to Speak to them directly. On chat they kept saying we can't help you and you have no right to get a refund contact Middle East airline, I didn't contact Middle East airline they keep saying we can't help you go back to budgetair when I bought the tickets from.
Now I'm taken legal action for both Bugdeair and Middle East airline.

People save your time and money.

I bought a return ticket for my husband from Windhoek to Cape Town, departing on Sunday 29 July 2019. My husband developed a seriously bad flu on the Saturday. I tried to call Budgetair on the Saturday afternoon to change the departing ticket to Monday, but there was no answer at either the emergency phone number in Amsterdam or the Johannesburg number. I again tried on the Sunday morning. I also called Namib Air, the operator, but they only said that the change must be through the agent. My husband was in no condition to fly as he had a high fever. I had to buy a new ticket through Air Namibia and he left on the Monday. I continued trying to call Budgetair and sent them two e-mails. When I call Johannesburg, I just get an automatic reply that the network is busy. When I call Amsterdam, I am automatically put on hold indefinitely. Air Namibia cancelled the ticket as he did not show for the first flight, even though I called them beforehand. When I tried to check him in for the return flight, I was told that he should be at Cape Town airport 3 hours before the flight to arrange for the ticket to be re-activated, but they simply forced him to buy a new ticket. So, all my attempts to contact Budgetair was unsuccessful and I lost the cost of a return ticket.

Stay away from budget air I purchased a ticket using my own credit card and canceled my flight they took the money out of my account but used their own card to purchase my ticket it took them forever to send me my confirmation number. The flight was canceled they money went back to their card and don't want to refund me my money. I called my bank to put a claim the bank contacted them they don't answer. I called they told me to call my bank to cancel the dispute and get a charge back withdrawal letter and email it to them and they will refund me the money and I called my bank and explained it to them I'm told to not cancel the dispute because If I do and send the letter to them they will never refund me the money it's a scam stay away from buying from budget air. The first time I called them the lady on the phone told me it will take 45-60 days to get a refund. They disconnected the phone on your face. The got my money. And I asked for a manager she told me they don't have a manger what company don't have a supervisor or manager it's like a running scam company they have an accent hard to understand them.

Never buy a flight ticket from this website! The agent failed to book my departure flight for my entire group of 7. After 2 months when the airline sent me my reference did i realise this so i contacted the agent via emails & follow up calls. It was only after calling them repeatedly did they book my departure flight for 2 pax but the remaining 5 pax was not book yet! I then called them again to ask whats going on. They said that they overlooked the booking & will book it immediately & send me the details within 24hrs but again failed to do so. This is 3 days before my flight! I called again to ask for the confirmation & the agent told me off saying that the airlines has not confirm my flight details then he started to question me asking me if i know the airline terms & conditions stating that the airline cancelled the flight & it is not their fault! What the h***! If the flight was cancelled then as an agent do your job & rebook it accordingly earlier instead of waiting until the last minute for the customers to keep calling for an update confirmation booking!

Prior to this occasion, I had used budgetair.com/en_ca several times successfully without any issues. I always received my tickets, confirmation numbers and receipts within 24 hours or less, and everything was accurately done without exception.

Unfortunately, my most recent experience was different. I bought 3 different tickets on the Canadian version of the website, and the webpage showed the Canadian flag in the upper right corner along with a "c" before all of the dollar signs before the prices. I had assumed, given that I was searching on the Canadian version of the website and that all of the prices were quoted in Canadian dollars, that my credit card would be charged in CAD.

You can imagine that I was then disappointed when I received my credit card statement this month, and learned that two of the three tickets were charged in the "USD equivalent," not taking into account that most Canadian credit cards charge a 3 (or greater) % foreign transaction fee per transaction. I contacted BudgetAir and was initially told that I had been charged in CAD and that they did not know what the fuss was about. In a subsequent email, I received an apology and was told 'there is nothing we can do about this, as the airlines charge in whatever currency they choose...'

If that is the case, then why quote customers in CAD on a 'Canadian travel' website? Just quote the local currencies that the airlines choose to use, so people know what they're paying and in what currency.

Though they generally do have great prices, after this experience, we are unlikely to use them again.

This company is incredibly manipulative they've try and find anyway to dodge their responsibility. I booked a flight with them and needed to correction in surname first they told us charges after that they Denay and said you need to cancel this ticket and and they kept blaming the airline. I would speak to the airline and then they would blame blame to talk to your agent and they not found a solution still i havent getting proper resposne from budgetair.com also they don't have any telephone number

Do NOT book with this organization!

TERRIBLE COMPANY!

TERRIBLE COMPANY - CROOKS!

Even worse employees working for their so called customer service!
They have ruined our upcoming Family Christmas vacation. The flights were paid in full three months ago and the airline (BritishAir) stopped providing service from our city during the winter months.

First, budgetair didnt even let us know about the change of service from BritishAir; we had to call them. They told us we would have to have layovers (even though we paid for direct flights), and we would have to leave a day later.
We have two small children so a 17 hr trip compared to the 8 hour flight we paid for is a BIG deal.
My wife spent 6 hours total over a few days dealing trying to sort it out and got nowhere, in fact she was hung up on by one of the so called customer service people. They will not put us on another airline and sort this out like any other travel business would.
We asked for a refund and they say 45-60 days! Looking at other reviews I am confident we will never see the money.
Now flights have gone up by 30% since we booked with these crooks.

Don't purchase tickets through this company:

I tried to purchase a ticket through Expedia and was routed to BudgetAir's website. The ticket I bought there was not what I thought it was - it had very long layovers (over 10 hours). I tried to cancel it immediately.
The phone number posted on the site is not valid. The Facebook page for the company is not valid. You can only deal with them through an automated chatbot.
I tried to cancel through the chat and received the message that since I was canceling the day of purchase, I would not be charged for the ticket, only the change ticket fee of 55 Euros - which I consider to be the price for foolishly trusting their website.
Instead, my credit card bill comes back with the full charges. Now it is ten days later and the chat tells me that the "void" period for immediate refund is over. I must wait 4 months for a refund.
Why should I trust a promise to refund 4 months from now when the company failed to cancel the ticket upon request?
This company should not be in business, in other words, someone needs to put them out of business.

BudgetAir cheating customer money

I booked the flight in budgetAir(BUSA-*******) and requested to reschedule flight as per policy and also I subscribed premium package but budgetAir denying for rescheduling flights by saying technical issues and adviced to deal with flight(Air India) company directly but AirIndia customer care repoted that they are not able to reschedule since it booked by budgetAir and only BudgetAir have access to reschedule. They also not denied for full refund.

Its very clear that budgetAir is cheating and stealing customer money

A collective claim!
Scam scam scam! I used this company budget air to book a flight, it costed me around $600. Then i had to cancel for some urgent reasons. They emailed me that after they deduct their commission and the airline's one, $404 will be refunded. Fair enough! I totally understand that since i am running an online company as well! I cancelled it only after the confirmed that $404 will be refunded, otherwise i wouldn't. I asked them to rebook another flight using the same money just for a different day, but i had no answer! They said it will take around 10 businesses days to refund, now one month passed and nothing. I tried to call them several times their phone number is not a working one, i also emailed them several times regarding the refund or booking another flight, same, No answer. So i decided to check their reviews and i found out that in most of the cases, they don't refund the money. I will fight to get back what they promised, they could just say from the beginning that nothing will be refunded. As i said i am running an online company as well so i know exactly what to do and how to do the charge backs! It's important to know that they lose extra money when the banks or MasterCard/visa/American express, make the charge back! But i also need a maximum of people who got scammed so we write an official request all together so they block them from charging other customers. Please who ever got scammed write me to this email: milifares95@ gmail.com we will fight! I m getting attorney involved as well to take all legal actions against them, please join in order to make a collective claim!

FRAUD!
Their IATA liscence belongs to another company - everywhere says they are a scam.

We booked and both Claire and I tripled checked booking before paying. Without doubt our RETURN TRIP from UK was 17th July. We have just printed e-TICKET as we fly to UK on Saturday. To our HORROR the ticket reads 17Th June! We phoned to change flight - the woman was rude, evassive and unhelpful - they want R26 000 from us to change flight to what we origonally booked. Its also by the way more than the actual return ticket! THIS IS FRAUD! WE CANNOT AFFORD THAT and may have to stay behind in South Africa and miss my neice's wedding.

I had a booking from Frankfurt to Bengaluru on 20th of February 2023 with Etihad airways. Before the booking was done, I knew there would be some circumstances that would not let me fly on the same date, so I made a booking with the premium service as an option, where I could change the travel dates (in case I couldnt fly on 20th Feb)
Now when I ask for a change of date, budget air is backing out stating that even with the premium option, I can change the date only if the Ethihad lets me.

This is not clearly mentioned in their terms and conditions. Now I cant change the dates and the ticket is non refundable.
My question is HOW CAN YOU COVER UP SUCH AN IMPORTANT NOTE FROM THE CUSTOMERS?

So much regret

I can't believe this company and the run around they give you. We booked tickets the beginning of August to fly to Kelowna and a couple weeks later the city was under fire and airport shut down. I called this company to cancel my flights or to get some kind of voucher. They told me that they couldn't do nothing for us and to call westjet. I called westjet I was told no you paid bugetair that's who needs to refund you or give you a voucher. Called again to budget and again no you talk to westjet and also explained that my dad has a lung disease and even if Kelowna was to open I cannot take him there for our family trip. I called budget again probably the 5th time of run around. I ask ok can I pay a fee to move my tickets to a different time it's $77 per person and also a extra $100 per person l was going to proceed but you had to already book your flight for down the road thought that was weird but thought ok fine but when they came back on the phone and said it's also another fee of $240 per person on top of the other fees! I almost lost my mind. I can't believe this company is getting away with this.I will never ever deal with company again and STRONGLY suggest others don't as well.

I was charged CAD 15.46 more than what I had agreed to pay on the web page, when purchased my flight. The price on the receipt they sent was exactly what I had agreed to pay, but I was charged 15.46 CAD more to my credit card. I wrote an email to BudgetAir and they confirmed that I was overchaged in that case, but I needed to provide a proof for the transaction and they required other bank details. The screenshot of the transactions on my bank web site was not enough for them as proof, like they can't see what money they took from my credit card! But what is even worst, they required my bank account details, as they don't want to refund directly my credit card that I have used to pay. If they will do a wire transfer to my bank account, my bank will charge me 17.50 CAD, which is more that the overcharge they made. I am still writing emails to them, but it looks like all is done so that I won't get refunded for the overchargement. I hope my bank will be able to help me with this issue that looks to me like a fraud.
