Stay away from this company, they have nil customer service plus much worse
April 22, 2022

BudgeAir is owned by Travix International in Netherlands. Travix also own Cheaptickets, Flugladen, Vayama, and Vliegwinkel. Travix is now part of Trip.com a major international travel company based in China.
Purchased 2 Flexible Premium airtickets from Melbourne to Seoul and return in February 2022 to fly in June 2022. "Flexible Tickets" so I could change dates if required. After a week of trying to get a response from the website ChatBot (which told me I couldn't change the tickets and would I like to cancel and not get a refund!} and trying their Sydney phone number (which they dont advertise) I spoke to someone at Budgetair on Tuesday the 12th of April to change departure date. Was told extra fare cost was $1050 which I agreed to. He sent me an email asking for immediate payment so he could do the change and hold that price. I did Credit Card payment on the 12th. The website now now showed my new departure date and the old departure date, the only problem was that both dates etickets only showed my old departure date. Since then I have been intouch with them via email and the chatbot on their website and have been told that they have escalated my problem to their booking team and it will be fixed within 12 hours.
The phone number I originally contacted them on on the Tuesday on Wednesday had a recording that they were not taking phone calls anymore. Now it just doesn't respond. So I cannot get someone to change my etickers or contact me

I paid Budgetair an extra AUD$1050- to change my departure date as I was told by customer service person that the tickets had been changed.
So now no change to my tickets, still showing the old dates. Chat Bot on their website tells me to wait 12 hours and my new ticket will be emailed, still waiting after 2 weeks.
Emails to *******@budgetair.com.au also tell me that they have upgraded my problem to their booking team and to wait 12 hours for changes to go through. Still no change after 2 weeks
Both their ChatBot and email service appears to be farmed out to a third party called FRESHWORKS,
So you are not talking to a Budgetair person at all.
Their 2 Sydney phone numbers *******138 and *******370 2 weeks ago I was able to actually speak to someone in Mumbai who did the change for me. Then only a recorded message on the phone numbers saying due to COVID they were not able to take phone call and to go to the Chat Bot. NOW both numbers just click off and dont even ring.
So really they have stolen $1050 of my money by saying they would provide a service and then not providing it.
THEY ARE CROOKS SPREAD THE WORD SAVE SOMEONE ELSE FROM LOSING MONEY
In the end my bank got my $1050 back from their bank. But I will still have to buy 2 new outbound tickets to Seoul which will cost me about $2200. Please spread the word about this company.

If I knew their reputation I would not have booked with them. Spread the word

ABSOLUTE SCAM
November 26, 2021

I can't put into words how upset I am. This is a giant scam. Had a flight booked Aug 22 - Sept 5 and was flying somewhere to get surgery. My surgery was cancelled as the hospital was full due to COVID. I absolutely could not contact a single person at BudgetAir to ask about flight changes. There's a super useless "chat bot" that never seems to help. I got through to a few "agents" who asked what my question was, once I told them I needed to change my flight they would disappear. I probably chatted with 40 agents with them dropping off. I figured I had lost my money and was so choked but felt helpless. They don't answer emails and they DO NOT HAVE A PHONE NUMBER. Now that it's November, I have a new date for surgery and I tried booking through the chat bot again to get a new flight (hoping maybe they would honour past flight that I tried cancelling numerous times as I had proof) This time, a guy named Vaishali was """"helpful"""" and said "yes I can book for you, Dec 15-31 but flights are more expensive so you would have to pay a fare difference as it's Christmas time" and I figured as much, so he happily charged me $170 of a fare difference, and said there was a $70 administration fee. I figured well I'm already this far along and now someone is finally assisting so, ok. I paid. He said an eTicket would be emailed to me within 24 hours. Within this time period he sent me an email saying there is a ‘change fee' of $79 as well. I was like WTF? I've already paid $240 in extra fees. Now you're tacking another one on after I've paid? And I thought grrrrrr they've already got a bunch of money but OK HERES ANOTHER $79 (you can see how they send links through to request more money). And then he says eTICKET will be provided within 24 hours. AND THEN I GET ANOTHER EMAIL saying "actually the $79 is for inbound and $79 for outbound as well. We need another $79. And then I called him out saying this is absolutely a scam, why on earth wouldn't you tell me this all up front. You've had multiple opportunities. How am I to know that if I pay this THIRD payment that you won't turn around and ask me for another? He said "ma'am we cannot book your flight until you pay this" so here I go again and pay $79. And now it's radio silence. No eticket. No emails from Vaishail. Nothing from BudgetAir. It's been days. No one speaks to me on chat. I've been scammed out of even more money than my original ticket. I'm horrified. Disgusted these guys aren't shut down.

BUDGETAIR.COM IS A SCAM/FRAUDULENT
October 12, 2021

DO NOT USE BUDGETAIR.COM. THE WEBSITE IS A SCAM/FRAUDULENT.

I recently booked a flight through the website. Knowing traveling (especially internationally) during COVID-19 can be subject to unexpected situations, I purchased travel AND cancellation insurance for an additional added fee (obviously covering last minute flight rescheduling and flight cancellations).

That said, complications arose forcing me to need to reschedule my flight to two days afterwards. I reached out to the airline directly to change my flight who then told me they were not authorized to make flight changes and I needed to reach out to budgetair.com to do so. Knowing this needed prompt attention, I immediately went to budgetair.com to find out THERE IS NO WAY TO MAKE CHANGES TO YOUR FLIGHT ITINERARY DIRECTLY ON THEIR WEBSITE. Reverting to the next best thing (phone support with a customer service rep) digging deep through their endless circle of useless FAQ pages to eventualy find a phone number. THIS IS WHEN I DISCOVERED THAT BUDGETAIR.COM's PHONE NUMBER IS NO LONGER IN SERVICE. THEY DO NOT OFFER PHONE SUPPORT IF YOU NEED IMMEDIATE ATTENTION TO YOUR TRAVEL PLANS AND RESTRICT YOU FROM MAKING CHANGES DIRECTLY WITH THE AIRLINE. I immediately started panicking knowing I had to make changes ASAP, and rebooked my flight directly through airline knowing I purchased cancellation insurance and wouldn't be held responsible for my ticket cost. (This is where the Fraud comes to play).

I began to look through the website to find a way to cancel my flight. Again, there is no way to do it directly on their website and so I looked for any way to contact a customer service rep. I spent 10 minutes scavenging through bull$#*! FAQ pages to eventually land on a janky email submission form that looked barely functional. I WROTE AN EMAIL REQUESTING TO CANCEL MY FLIGHT AND PROCESS A REFUND WITH MY CANCELLATION INSURANCE AND WAS RESPONDED TO 6 HOURS LATER SAYING THEY WOULD NOT HONOR MY INSURANCE AND THAT THEY COULD CANCEL MY FLIGHT WITHOUT ANY REFUND.

I was livid. This International flight cost me over $800 with an additional cancellation insurance upgrades bringing the ticket costs to $975. THEY REFUSED TO REFUND ANY OF IT. Better yet, I would have changed my flight directly though the airline if I was capable of doing so, or if they had a timely/reliable customer service representative.

To recap, BUDGET AIR.COM SELLS FRAUDULENT CANCELLATION/TRAVEL INSURANCE. Additionally, If you find yourself in a bind while traveling and need immediate assistance. Your screwed. YOUR ONLY OPTION FOR MAKING FLIGHT CHANGES IS THROUGH AN EMAIL SUBMISSION FORM WITH AN AVERAGE RESPONSE TIME OF OVER 6 HOURS. Do yourself a favor and NEVER USE THIS WEBSITE. I sincerely hope they go out of business.

Just now
I booked 3 tickets back in May 2019
I booked 3 tickets back in May 2019. Got an email in regards to the flight change Aug 2019, unfortunately it was accepted (which by all means is my fault). Oct 2019 I called to ask if it's possible to change it so that we dont have a 24hr layover, the first agent said yes no problem (Great, I waited 2 weeks, didn't get confirmation. So I looked on their site showing me an updated ticket *I have a picture of the update*)
I contacted our connecting flight just for confirmation, and found out the flight that was switched too did not exist. I contacted them again in Dec 2019 and spoke to the second representative who said that since the ticket was issued they couldn't help us change it up (by a few hours). After speaking to her for an hour she finally spoke to another rep and said she will request for a change but the departure will be earlier (I was fine with that). So, I waited the 48 hours. I called them 2 days later and was informed by the third rep that the 2nd rep requested a flight change(west jet) with a different airline( american airlines) and that's why it got declined (like obviously no airline wants to lose a client) with that, I called West jet to see if they have earlier flights available the day of our departure and she said their were plenty and she was unsure as to why the agent requested with a different airline. Again, I called budget air and spoke to the manager and explained the situation and again was informed that since the ticket in August was accepted their was nothing they could do. I told him that I called in Oct and requested a change and the rep was willing (and did so) and same with the 2nd rep (also did). But the manager kept saying they cannot change it at all, as it was accepted in Aug. Through this conversation he has disregarded what I said about the Oct phone calls(requesting help) saying it is my fault and I should just accept it (I admit, for confirming). I now have the OG ticket from Aug and an updated ticket stating their is no layover (which I got directly from their website). I asked him, as to why the OG ticket (which is irrelevant since their was a change) is completely different from the ticket I got from their website. He said that the ticket from their website is wrong and that the OG (ticket which was sent in Aug is right.) AGAIN, disregarding the fact about how I spoke with 2 of his representative between Aug and Dec. I still did not have an answer as to why my emailed ticket is completely different from your website. BTW your overview page is not loading.

I have never had an issue with other sites and they bent over backwards to make sure we were a happy customer.

All I wanted was help but instead I was just given the run around and given 3 different answer without a solution.

*I have pictures and videos of flight change, tickets and conversation*

If I could give 0 star I would!
November 7, 2018

I want to be clear i have used budget air over the past 5 years for my immediate family & and ALL my siblings and cousins. As a family of 4 who own a couple homes in Central america we visit minimum 4 times per year and have have between 10-15 family members along for many family trips all of which book thru budget air. Approx 100 flights for my family booked in 5 years with no issue until now.
I booked my family flight on July 27th 2018. Within 3 weeks of that date i booked 2 additional flights with no issue. I received the normal Booking reservation number and airline reference number.

As it was nearing 1 month from my flight, i looked in to my credit card payments and noticed all others but this one were not withdrawn.

Making the call and being disconnected 3 times and spending 90 mins on the phone. The response was short and sweet " YOU BOOKED IN JULY AND YOUR JUST CALLING NOW". I explained the other bookings i just made and everything was great...

Then lady then said we tried to call the next day July 28th... NO missed calls from any number that day or any day moving forward. I then stated HOW could someone IF? They called not leave a message or send an email?

NO returned calls as they stated they would that afternoon. 5 days later i get an email saying ** sorry about the booking issue the flight has gone up $220.00 please confirm you want to proceed with the booking at the increased prices.!

This is when i became beyond frustrated calling again and taking 3 more attempts to speak with someone. I demanded i have a supervisor call me.

5 more days past by - the prices of the flights are increasing by the day and I am fearful i will not even get a flight for the dates i had already requested along with my family. So i book the flight with Budget air 225.00 more.

I was going to let it all past as life is to short - BUT then my sister & daughter in law both had same things happen.
My sister then sends a email of what budget air emailed her the next day-

Stating the payment didn't not go thru and the booking was not complete even though she received a Booking reservation number.

If this is a policy / procedure how could it be sent to her and i never was notified by email or vmail?!

All i asked is that Budget air refunded me the 225.00 extra i had to pay for an error on their end. I understand everyone is busy and mistakes happen but for a loyal / valued customer spending in my own family of 4 over $30,000 in flights a simple 225.00 would not be to much to ask.

On to today Nov 7 2018

After sharing my earlier review and I'll horrible the service was from start to finish. I was hopeful I would be able to change my review when the $225 refund came to me as promised. They said it would arrive within 5 days and it has been 2 weeks so I followed up yesterday to find out they said they attempted to send it you need to talk to your bank it's not our fault. I asked for a screenshot or proof that they have attempted to send with a money transfer number which they would not provide. I called my bank and the manager said this seems very fishy I don't know what's happened and can't see any money attempted to be sent to me. Just when I thought budgetair customer service couldn't get worse they topped themselves again. I will update again if and when I ever get my refund as promised by them

Cheap is never cheap
September 18, 2018

I have always heard that cheap is never cheap. Maybe with the BudgetAir it is cheap if everything goes according to the plans... if not, then it becomes double expensive. I made a mistake - I admit: I booked a flight in September instead of October. I realized it 5 minutes after I made the reservation, I directly tried to contact BudgetAir hoping to get some advice what can I do to safe 1300 euro I've just paid for the flight. It was Saturday evening, so the office was closed but BudgetAir has an emergency call. Nobody picked up the telephone - I tried to phone on Saturday, on Sunday, nothing. I wrote directly an e-mail with a question about a possible date change - no response. Finally on Monday I got someone on line and after 15 minutes of waiting I heard the date change is possible if I pay 1770 euro... For this price I can just buy a new ticket, so what kind of a date-change is it? I said I would think it over. When I thought it over, I e-mailed the office one more time to ask for the specifications of the ''new'' flight - no answer. Later on I heard that such a specification is not possible, but why wasn't I anserwed via mail? Actually, yes, I have got an answer ''I understood you have been helped by my colleague, so I think I do not need to answer your e-mail anymore. If you have more questions, please contact me''. I did have more questions, about a possible restitution, which is mentioned enigmatically in the conditions of BudetAir, about a change of a name - I have not got any answer on it. So I phoned again. I will not describe the conversation any more but in a summary I can say: if you make a mistake, forget it - do not waist your time on trying to get some support, possible help. You will not get it. Pity for your time. Unless you want to pay 1770 euro for a ''changing'' of the date of your flight. I also was not informed about the possibility to get the flight-tax, which you can get if you do not use the ticket. Possibly this will also be not possible with BudgetAir, while it is possible with Transavia, KLM, Lufthansa, and others. In a summary - maybe you can get a cheaper ticket via Budget Air, but do not expect any pro-active attitude if you need help, any attempt of support, they do not care about helping you. Do not waist your time on phoning, e-mailing. So, this was a less for me, that it is better to pay 200-400 euro extra to reliable companies, which in case of a trouble will support you and look for a solution together with you, than trying to safe this money using a company which only takes care of themselfs. (my booking number BA-*******,@budgetair: you do not need to say you are sorry, etc. if you are realy sorry, think together with me, how to solve the problem. There are still four days to the flight...)
