In September 2022 I ordered Tommy Bahama to be shipped from US to Germany twice, despite initial reluctance due to Borderfree´s bad reviews. Both orders arrived perfectly well packed and in timely fashion, 2nd order arrived three business days prior to estimated delivery time. DHL tracking worked perfectly too. Prepaid taxes and shipping fees seem fair
They overcharge to duties and taxes and for the exchange rate. Essentially charging more than twice the normal rate for both. I know what the taxes are for importation of consumer goods into Canada and they have overcharged me for taxes and duties on every order from Sephora (who no longer uses them, thank goodness) and for Nordstrom (who unfortunately will not ship without borderfree). They also are a hassle to deal with in general. I also find that their packages seem to take MUCH longer to clear customs than packages sent from other shipping companies. Not sure why this is.
I would pay extra to have another shipping option with duties and taxes paid on delivery as borderfree is not worth the headache or the extra fees.
I am really hoping with the move of some Nordstrom stores into Canada that they will stop using borderfree and offer a ship from store or Canadian warehouse option.
Got my item 6 days after getting shipping confirmation from Borderfree. Item sat on Borderfree side for 4 days. Will I buy through Borderfree again, I don't know. Maybe until the Order Status section is fixed... There's no way to track the orders after it reaches Borderfree. Order details are not showing any details!
Try order for delivery Thailand order was denied by bank yet BorderFree Hanes placed to different charges on my bank account and has not responded to my emails .Company needs have license revoked,I wonder how many others had same problem!
Bought a pair of shoes from Nordstrom, which ships via Borderfree to Canada. I was a bit nervous after reading the reviews here, but my experience was a positive one.
The shoes qualified for free shipping, but I chose to pay $25 for express shipping ("4 to 9 business days"). My order did arrive safely within 4 business days to Ontario and Borderfree sent me emails throughout the process to let me know where my order was at.
I've purchased two items from them Like a month Ago. I spent quite the penny on this site. I received a confirmation number, but that was is. Tried to reach them and haven't been able to get a response. So I'm going to dispute this.
Worst shipping ever. They take no responsibility for my item that had gone missing. In addtion, the service was awful. From now which ever merchant use Borderfree I'm never going to order. I will spread the word.
I ordered Dune London store purse sand every thing wnt so smooth as per schedule and delivery. May be order from us could be problem but I love it borderfree. This is what I was wanting for long time. Dream come true. Please continued to use this site.
Run, don't walk, run away from any retailer that works with Borderfree. Terrible experience resolved only because I used PayPal! (thank God) and was able to strong-arm the company into providing a refund for unshipped items.
They emailed me shipping confirmations, DHL package received for processing. Charged my credit card. Then nothing moved for two weeks, until I got the "we're so sorry" email from Borderfree that it's been cancelled due to "overwhelming response". Offered me a $25 coupon off an order of $100 or more, which they know that no one will use because at $100 or more you need to pay customs taxes, and $25 doesn't come near covering their now-exorbitant shipping charges.
Use Amazon's GlobalShipping instead, much more reasonable and reliable!
Borderfree cancelled my orders after I've received a DHL tracking number.
Of course they didn't forget to charge my credit card and the refund appeared multiple days after the cancellation email (WTF?).
Customer service does not answer emails and isn't helpful when you phone them.
Why would you go with a company that treats it's customers like that?
If you cannot handle the free shipping offer you started then at least hire customer service representatives to handle your customers in a reasonable way.
Oh, and I forgot, lot's of email offers - irritating!
Bad experience. Shame on Target for dealing with them and hiding when the problems appeared. Target should have saved the day if you are asking me.

Made an order at champion.com which deliver through Borderfree. First 10 days I haven't received any notification about the order although the arrival estimation was about 2,5 weeks. Then I contacted their support who have told me I'll receive a notification with tracking number soon. After I contacted champion support the next day they figured out my order was lost in transit. I asked to release the amount of money which was freezed by Borderfree and they said it would take 3-5 days. Needless to say, the money were released in almost 20 days only because my bank could no longer keep them freezed. Never use this $#*!ty service.
I ordered from Haynes in the US 2 weeks ago, got my order confirmation a day later, but nothing since. It's been 2 weeks and would at least expect a notification that my order has shipped. I live in Canada and regularly shop US products online, usually get a "your order has shipped " notice within a week. I got an email stating, " when your order clears customs you'll get a tracking number". Very poor, rule 1, always keep the customer informed of their order status!, since they've already PAID. With all the internet fraud going on I expect to be kept informed. I pay enough in shipping charges not to be kept INFORMED,!
Simply put, Borderfree has a very wonky and terrible payment system. I've used it in the past for intl.target.com shipments, and have had minor issues. Today, a major issue, in that their system wouldn't allow for the purchase to go through at all, citing "There was a problem processing your payment information. Please try again." I attempted this 6 times, and each time a record shows at my financial institution that a withdrawal is pending.
We had some items sent from target. One arrives and four went missing. They lost the items. And it was impossible to contact them. They don't answer emails. Finally after 2 months we saw refund but still haven't gotten any reply from them. Companies shiuld choose another provider for shipping.
Was first charges on my credit card when I confirmed the order.
A week later, no e-mails on order status, I get charged again, with a different sum, no idea why. And minutes later, charged again with the original sum.
No e-mails explaining anything. I still don't know what the second charge was pertaining to.

Those folks are so unprofessional that it would be funny if it wasn't sad. Ordered an order from target, paid shipment and taxes upfront. The shipment got stuck in the local customs due to badly made documentation and incorrectly calculated taxes paid upfront. Instead of dealing with that or at least acknowledge me that there a problem they just returned the shipment back to US. Now I am left with my pants down without a present to my brother.
I ordered from AMERICAN APPAREL and returned a Dress. They did not make anything clear.
An exchange wasn't possible with them so ok, that's fine. Just give me the money back of the product (not the shipping and handling which is understandable).
I don't know who is doing their accounting but they are complete idiots. I did not get a refund of the cost minus shipping/handling/return shipping and return handling.
They invented some random number and refunded $24. The total cost of the initial order was $71.38, with all their extra costs I should have received $36.83 but only received 24.
Their customer service is horrible and they're idiots.
As borderfree is using DPD in Germany its useless because DPD is known for just returning borders without attempts to deliver at all. The service hotline is costly and cannot do anything anyways and the tracking does not reflect the status of orders. So deliveries from the US end up in the States and get lost there. Makes no sense using them.
Not that I was in a hurry to get my order so it wouldn't have bothered me if it took a month. After reading all the negative reviews I was expecting to receive my item after being shipped maybe 3 - 4 weeks. However whilst reading these reviews, my doorbell rang and what do you know my parcel arrived in less than a week after being shipped. No I didn't pay for any fast shipping just standard from USA to Australia. No complaints this time. Well done Borderfree. All in tack as well.
