DO NOT GET BIRCH BOX! I got this for my wife. She has not received 2 of the 6 boxes owed to her. Cancellation is near impossible. If you wish to talk to anyone you must submit a request and hope they call you at a good moment. Boxes come at random times, no constancy. The "tayloring quiz" at the beginning meand nothing. My wife has received items that she specifically asked not to get. Get Ipsy or the Sephora monthly subscription... well worth it!
Following up on my previous review - more useless stuff. Just opened my 3rd box today - 5 more tiny samples of items to give away (if I can even find anyone who wants to try them). Biggest waste of money - 3 boxes received so far for a total of 15 samples & not even one of the 15 has been worth trying. Where do they come up with this trash? I cannot stress enough that this subscription was a huge mistake. $30.00 down the drain so far and not even one product worth trying. This was a gift subscription so it cannot be canceled, unfortunately.
I am SO disappointed with the latest box. I see there is a sand&Skye pore facemask and undereye mask. Two areas of interest I clearly noted in my beauty profile(when signing up you can set a beauty profile so they send you things according to your needs/interests). What do I get? Travel size shampoo and shower gel (again!). What a rip off! Beauty profile is totally disregarded. I am sick of receiving soap! I wanted to sign up to discover new brands! Don't sign up guys...
I signed up for three month trial... and then NO AUTO renewal. I made sure. However, they kept charging me and sending me boxes... I ended up paying for an extra FIVE MONTHS- and then when it was finally resolved, I get a new charge as of Jan 2021 and an email my box is on the way. I logged into my account, and there's no way you can delete you credit card info, there's no way to delete your accounts and guess what I DONT have auto renewal on it. I literally NEVER write reviews. BUT I HAVE TO WARN you. This is a scam. Very disappointed. I have to call my credit card company now and tell them that whenever this company tries to charge me- its a scam. LOL. This is ridiculous.
I was a loyal customer for over 2 years and even sent a 1 year subscription as a gift to a friend. Yes, many of the items I got in my monthly box were totally useless, but it was fun to get a little box of goodies every month.
In November, they previewed a box and I fell in love with a specific lip color - I even invited a friend just so I could sign up for customizing my box a bit earlier. I did everything "right," but the lip color was never in my box. Contacted customer service and they apologized and said they would send a replacement right away. That never happened. Contacted customer service 3 more times in December and January and was promised a package would be sent asap - never got my lip color and never got a follow up from the company until I reached back out to them (and they said they didn't have the color anymore). I cancelled my account immediately and am now blasting their horrible service.
I'm moving on to FabFitFun boxes instead!
I was upset that it took much longer than expected to get the first box. Even longer than it said it would, but my college age daughters LOVED the 3 boxes they each got. I would get them again for them.
Ordered Birchbox as a gift. Picked the delivery dates and called and was assured their delivery issues were fixed. It's now been 14 days and just got an email that there is a delay. If your getting this for a gift on a specific date... may be best to choose another gift box.
It started out great with great products and makeup. Now all I seem to get his hair products and dry shampoo that I totally hate. Also, I was supposed to get one item that I picked early (due to extra stuff that you do), and I didn't get it this month. I was also supposed to get to pick the box I wanted one day early, and it didn't let me do it! It's very frustrating seeing how I signed up for a year. My daughter gets Ipsy and it's better.
Stay away. These people rip you off. Look you into a contract and keep extending it without your permissions. Samples are worth 50 cents. Tell you you get to pick but every time you try, everything is sol out. Do not get suckered in.
Oh, and there is no way to talk to a human. No phome lines. Email only!
I have been unsuccessful in trying to contact Birchbox regarding a broken sample. I tried online chats--"21 people in line ahead of you". Then I tried an e-mail. I had tried unsuccessfully to cancel my subscription but the directions to do this led me to a dead-end. Finally I received a call from Nathaniel, a very pleasant, informative gentleman. He agreed to send a return label for another full size product that I didn't like. He also agreed to cancel my subscription. It shouldn't be this difficult! CUSTOMER SERVICE IS EVERYTHING! Too bad. I really liked getting my monthly box, but it is not worth this frustration.
I am furious. I have requested two times to cancel my subscription. They give you false directions on their web site... tell you to go to a certain category when that does not exist.
It is certainly very well priced. The products are average and nothing to get excited about.
I feel like I am in Birchbox prison! I have scheduled phone call... which they initially give you a choice of hours but when you fill it in... they email you and say they will call between 9-6 and calls are made in order of receiving. There is no way ot speak with a human being unless you do it this way. I would not recommend this because of their jpractices. Idea is great... producte are average... service is horrible.
Unfortunately I have to give Birchbox a thumbs down! I gave a 3 month gift for Christmas to my roommate. She didn't receive the first box so it was resent. When it arrived it was just 4 little items rolling around in the box. I contacted customer service and they seem to help me as much as they could. I was promised a replacement box for the "unsatisfactory" December box. It never came. I believe my roommate got her 2nd and 3rd boxes eventually but overall a horrible gift giving experience!
This company simply does not care about their customers even when their products are horrible and make you break out, they will not do anything for you and when you do contact their "customer service", they are condescending and all they say is "sorry" but it's your problem, not ours. Do not sign up, you will regret it and waste of your time and money.
I order a December box and it took them more than 1 week to start shipping it. It arrived at my old address in Illinois, the people here forward it to my new address in Washington state. However, the package came to WA then sent back to IL and now got stuck in IL. No different than order from China, even slower. I wait for a box for a month haha.
What a terrible terrible company. Once you're in they almost make it impossible to cancel. This whole company and premise is just a huge rip off and I fell for it. Beware of the company and its false promises! Stay far awsy
I received a product that was so damaged, it was unusable. I immediately sent a photo and asked that they replace. They said they didn't have any more. I told them that was okay and asked if they could send me a different sample to make up for it. They said they didn't have any products they could possibly send me.
HOWEVER, they gave me 10 points. So I could put that towards a product. That equals $5. None of their products are $5, so I'd have to spend well over $5 plus shipping. They basically profit from their mistakes.
I would have given it 0 star if I could. Ordered pain medication for my dog with a torn acl. 13 days and never arrived. Call customer service and explained. First call she said I would have to wait for the package to get to me, return it and then when they received it, they would refund me. I flipped out, she said hold on let me see what I can do for you, laughed and hung up. The 2nd call the woman refunded me immediately. I can't count on chewy to deliver my meds in a timely manner. Even if there was a shipping issue, the customer service compounded my troubles. I'll look for another supplier and tell chewy " let me see what I can do for you " laugh and hang up. I'm done with you! 1
No this is not about their friendliness but just how freaking impossible it is to even get ahold of them! They don't have an actual phone number to call you have to schedule a call back or send an email and wait for them to get back to you. And if you're trying to get your problem sorted out fast you're out of luck because they'll never call you back at the time you picked for a call back. It's absolutely ridiculous. After I get my order through I will never be using their services again. It's not been just one time but this has happened on 4 separate occasions. Every time I've tried to get ahold of them it's been because of THEIR site error. Wish they had an actual number to call. I never ever had this trouble with ipsy. So much more worth it. I only had been using birch box a month when I started have trouble with them while I was with ipsy for almost a year and never had a single problem. WORST WORST WORST!
Horrible products. I received 2 teabags, 2 suncreams and a horrid lip/cheek stain stick in the brightest red you can imagine for $10!
You are better off going to Target and buying $10 of samples - they would be bigger and more of what you want.
Most of the samples are so small they are only one use. The ads do not reflect the size and quality of the items in the box. Don't waste your money.
I really liked the two boxes I ordered individually, so I signed up for the full year to save money. BIG MISTAKE - they send so much repeat stuff, even after you tell them you don't want to keep getting the same thing by writing in or changing your preferences. I wrote in to complain because of the repetition and the tiny size of the samples - not only did they refuse to refund the rest of my money, they said that if I don't sign up to auto-renew (which I never signed up for, they did it w/o asking me) that I can't earn any points for reviews any more. This is a sad and dishonest way for them to block dissatisfied customers from expressing their unhappiness in reviews. If they have to hide the truth, they are up to no good. Will NEVER sign up with them again even for one month after that!
Samples are horrible, I could get these by visiting the cosmetics counter, Ipsy and Walmart boxes are so much better. I am going to cancel this subscription. I have to give emails so I receive better samples? Not going to happen...
Answer: I've bought a few. I've liked several more enough to buy a full size item but haven't gotten around to it yet because I have enough of a similar product on hand for now.
Answer: The issue I've had with them is that their customer service contact information was difficult to locate, so I get it. I had to contact them over Twitter to get it. The email form on the website doesn't do you much good. Try sending an email to info@birchbox.com for a better response. If all else fails, and you can't seem to get them to stop charging you, contact your credit card company, and let them handle it for you.
Answer: I work at a credit union. What I would recommend in this instance is canceling the card and then disputing unwanted charges. There is no way for the institution to cancel the subscription for you. However, as I said, we can issue you a new card number and help you dispute the charges that you did not authorize.
Answer: You get one point per dollar when shopping in the Birchbox shop. Additionally, reviewing the items you received in your Birchbox earns 10 points per review, and sharing your box on social media also yields you 10 points.
Birchbox has a rating of 1.7 stars from 261 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Birchbox most frequently mention customer service, month subscription and credit card. Birchbox ranks 96th among Subscription Shopping sites.
