I bought a couch 8 months ago and within that time the cheaply made middle wood support snapped when I sat down normally. I had kept the receipt so I called and explained it broke and asked what the options were. I was jumbled around to different people at different stores. First I was seeing if I could get a replacement but they no longer sell this couch. Then they said they had the replacement piece and it would cost $75 and I would have the rest of the purchase refunded. I asked how it would be refunded and got a mixture of answers. One person, Greg (assistant manager), who continuously interrupted me when I was trying to clarify things had at first said it would go back on the cards I had originally used. The next time I spoke with this gentleman was to see if I could simply get the refund without the replacement because I would rather just fix it myself. He then told me the store had taken 7 hits already with people having the same issue of bad furniture and that doing a refund would affect bonuses and paychecks so he said we would have to go back to the original store. I finally went back to the original store and found out that even though this couch support had knots all throughout it and broke within a year I could only return it and get store credit. This place is nowhere near ideal for furniture. It's all stapled together and the wood used looks like scrap wood where that tried gluing the knots in it. Please do not waste your money like I did.

I go to Big Lots mainly for throw or area rugs because of the lower prices but have found that the quality has really gone down. Rugs shred at seams after a first wash or become snagged by vacuuming making them worthless. I have discovered that some products they carry are overpriced and can be found at the dollar tree right next door for one dollar versus their price. Their garden decor while cute is also not discounted and carried at Walmart for 3 dollars or more cheaper.
During this Covid 19 crisis no items needed have been stocked or even on the shelves even though they claim they have everything you need making it a wasted trip going there. The only discount I see are clearance items which are really not marked down much and the sheet sets are of a bad quality and become so wrinkled and dull after the first wash.The 5 dollars off 15 is great if you can actually get them to work which half the time Big Lots has a bad internet connect and won't populate at the register. Also their website crashes and checkout is impossible. After Christmas sale for example would not let you check out your items and continued to do this for weeks. I lost 3 coupons to use as well and when I contacted them about this I received the response that their system was overloaded and should be corrected shortly. I was never resent my coupons. I have stopped shopping there due to not receiving my coupons, inferior products, lack of products and overpriced items. The only plus they offer is very nice cashiers and they allow my dog to shop with me which is why I started shopping there to begin with.

They rip you off... bill you for things you can't purchase... don't waste your money... purchase things that are unavailable and still pay full price and not receive anything but yet get billed

After being transferred and given 6 different numbers to call I finally spoke with a human that told me he was sending a email that would take 30 minutes to receive to begin the process PROCESS There wasn't a process of you receiving my money Wait here's the BEST PART THEY HAVE A PIC OF THE DELIVERY ON THE WRONG PORCH Question: Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader? What CREDENTIALS were required to achieve employment? Nevermind... Just Kindly Refund My Money Thanks

Horrible Customer Service

We wanted to purchase a mattress and box springs from store in Edmond, Ok and have it delivered in Guthrie, Ok. The sales person said he has it in stock and can be delivered next day but could not take payment over the phone and would need to go to biglots.com. He walked us thru the process and said as soon as it goes thru he will pull order for delivery, the funds $1132.24 was taken immediately from out account but the salesman said he cant see it and for us to call their customer service*******687. We were told there was a problem with order and would get a refund in 5 - 10 days. So now we have no mattress and no $$ to buy one until they decide to refund my money. I HIGHLY SUGGEST YOU DO NOT EVER ORDER FROM THESE CRIMINALS ONLINE. I WILL NEVER BUY FROM THIS COMPANY AGAIN. THE PEOPLE IN STORE ARE VERY NICE AND HELPFUL. IT'S A SHAME THAT CUSTOMER SATISFACTION IS NOT A MAJOR CONCERN

Outstanding
April 30, 2019

Yesterday I was at Big lots in Concord NC and person at the register, her name was Pat, Pat in my opinion should be a manager at 70 years old, she is so sweet and can run circle around the average worker in their twenties and thirties.

Deck chairs
July 25, 2018

Since I have posted my previous review about the deckchairs, I received an e-mail from LBIMPORTS>COM now telling me to send in pic of torn seat and the will refund my money. I have done so now we will see if they are true to their word. I will be happy if they do as I am a disabled lady and save a long time for those chairs.

Harassment
January 1, 2023

This morning I went to Big Lots in Harvey, LA looking for a bookcase. I was in the furniture department, browsing when the overhead announcement said to check all aisles. I thought nothing of it, until two employees started following me around the store. I guess they thought I was going to put one of those tables, beds, or chairs, etc. in my purse. So, the store didn't have what I was looking for, so I decided to shop around, because there was one other thing that I wanted in the kitchenware department. Here they come again; just standing nearby looking stupid and suspicious. While they were casing me out, I had already cased them out. And, there were no one in the store, except a couple that almost ran me over in the store, and a man that walked in at the same time I did. So, why you not checking the other isles; why you only checking the isles where I'm shopping? I was about to purchase an item, but I put it back on the rack and left the store. This is harassment and I felt harassed.

I went into the store and was in the store for maybe 2 hours. During that time the lady helping with furniture seemed very informative to start. I had finally found the living room set i wanted as well as the throw pillows. I was told as i stood there beside the register for several minutes as i could hear store workers ask in the distance if they could help several customers... they were all helped in very timely fashion. I still waited patiently, 2 employees walked past and let me know someone will be with me shortly, i waited another at least 10-15 min finally the person in the furniture area came out, on her way to me she had to help someone else for another 5 min,,,, very upsetting but i waited, when the lady finally made her way back i immediately let her know what furniture i wanted low and behold they only have a sofa to the set that i want, i then asked about my second and 3rd picks and again they had one piece and not the other. The tags on each said "in stock" every piece and the time she took selling the furniture only to know they had not one single set not one! Today was the very worst experience i have ever had in a store. False ads and very poor or short staff. Take my advice and run! I was so disappointed i took pics of the signs which falsely advertised the furniture as being "in stock" the lady had me looking for furniture for 2 damn hours to find they had not one set!

Awesome items

Bought a bedframe And memory foam mattress, The bedframe is stylish and great Sturdy quality, The memory foam mattress was a bit pricey but cheaper than others, it is awesome Super comfy, I see a lot of bad reviews on the furniture but to be honest the wood furniture from big lots It's low-quality that's why it's so cheap and you can see it for yourself at the store you just Gotta be the judge of what you buy by examining it, do you want good quality furniture you would have to pay thousands of dollars at a furniture store that will solve your problem, Need furniture for a few years then big lots your store just don't expect it to last more than five years on every day use.

BIG LOTS KISSIMMEE

Yesterday I went to the store Big Lots store in Kissimmee, And The Manager Aileen and the Associate Justin where great to work with. The store was clean and organized, they where courteous, caring, knowledgeable, helpful, and The Managers Aileen and Justin went out of his way to help me with all questions. Hello, I bought some furniture at BIG LOTS about two years ago and I bought the extended warranty since, according to the seller, it covered any damage, and the warranty expires in 2021. So last week, my chaise sofa material was ripped and I called to use my guarantee and I got denied the claim because according to the "TECHNICIANS" the material was not ripped but the seam was separated. I am a seamstress and i KNOW the difference between a separated seam and a ripped material. I specifically pointed it out in the picture but still got denied. Even though on the warranty contract, it says that it covers any type of ripped material. So, I would HIGHLY advise you NOT TO BUY from BIG LOTS for any type of furniture or WASTE YOUR MONEY on the supposed "Extended Guarantees" because they are SCAMMERS! Because in order to get you to buy from them they would offer 'the skies and the stars' BUT It's a complete SCAM!

I went to this Big Lots in Garfield Heights, The Customer service lady was rude and very nasty she never acknowledge me at the cash register when, I walked up to the cash register there was no one available she comes up to cash her register never said sir can you step down to this cash register so,I can help you. So I asked her are you going to service me and she just wave her hand and I called her a nasty b**** which she was rude and nasty. So I left and called up the store and asked can I speak to the store manager she answered the phone and said she was the store manager which she was not because I said if you the store manager then you would give me your name which I'm am in management so she put me a hold for 15 minutes I got in my vehicle drove up to the store and asked a young man where's your manager at and he pointed to the Caucasian man who was the manager and I went directly over to him to report the incident and I said oh well she told me she was the manager but you're the manager and I said again your a nasty b**** I never had this disrespect from Big Lots I've been going to Big Lots for a long time I even bought furniture from Big Lots to get treated like this from a customer service very unprofessional and I was treated like crap from her. Then she have the nerve to record me without my consent and like I told the store manager I will be suing her and the company for her recording me without my consent I never threatened her and never harmed her I just said she was a nasty b**** and very unprofessional.

Warranty is a scam
