DOLLAR STORE FURNITURE

DO NOT EVER BUY FURNITURE FROM HERE! I bought furniture out of the whim, apparently without a cerebral mind working on BLACK FRIDAY! WHAT A SCAM OF DOLLAR STORE FURNITURE... Look, I was very reluctant to get furniture from this store, however I needed to get rid of my couch ASAP, which took over my better judgement. I wanted something cheap, that looked okay, because of my child. So I went to the store and found a couch and loveseat. Of course you want to purchase and leave, especially on Black Friday Weekend! Well I had my Couch delivered today, however the wrappers were not only left on, the furniture ' was not even right side up" which could have been damaged without knowledge, " the WORST WAS, IT WAS NOT PUT TOGETHER. " ARE YOU KIDDING", Now I guess I Should have realized why I was told too many times not too ever get furniture from there. I have so many pictures which will be public so you do not make the the same irresponsible, carefree, feckless, and fly-by -night mind, when you really need something that ended up being unpredictable, unreliable and untrustworthy in the horrendous situation and horrible predicament I am now in. JUST THINK BEFORE YOU THINK IT WORKS, AND REALIZE THE OTHER OPTIONS I HAD IF I TOOK ONE OR TWO MORE DAYS TO RATIONALLY EVALUATE THE STATS RATIONALLY AND RESPONSIBLY...

Delivery. So I ordered this couch on Thursday and paid for delivery which was scheduled to be on this past Saturday between 8am-8pm. Was supposed to get a call on Friday to schedule a time for delivery, that never happened. I went ahead and planned to be home that whole day through the time period, since I had no idea when they would come or if they will even contact. So reached out to customer service at about 2pm that day, and was transferred to the delivery company which then said it would be deliverd tomorrow (Sunday the 21st) between 10-2pm. Another day where I just waited the time frame just in case they came, and just like the previous day there was no delivery and at this point that is crazy. You would think that when a person spends nearly $1000 on a couch. That the customer service would be great and that was not the case. This is probably the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE that I have ever recieved when ordering furniture. It was almost like they didn't want to deliver and could care less about the customers time and lacking what they are supposed to be doing for their job. Now it's Monday, 5 days after ordering and no delivery nor update. It's crazy that when you pay the $100 for delivery online, and NOTHING has happened. I will make sure to never recommend Big Lots to anyone and will make sure that my story will be shared on all social media platforms, yelp, and whatever else I can find to leave customer feedback for.

Bought a recliner from big lots and bought the xtra warranty! Lost recite and now I have nothing, but a piece of big lots trash! Would NOT EVER BUY THIER JUNK AGAIN! Spent thousands!

DO NOT BUY FURNITURE
April 21, 2022

Bought a sectional, the seams split and the frame broke through the back within a month. They would not order a replacement even though the store is supposed to offer a one year warranty. The warranty is you, yourself go calling from store to store to see if they have a replacement laying around as they DO NOT order them unless you are buying one. So no stores in my state had one just sitting around. I called my store back and was told to wait for the extended warranty to kick in. SO I waited a YEAR and filed the claim... it was denied because I didnt LIE about the date I noticed it, you can only file claims if you noticed it within the past 5 days... they said the store should have replaced it... well I agree with that BUT THEY WOULDNT and every person I spoke to had no idea what I was talking about when I would call and say "hey my couch is falling apart I was told to call to see if you had one for me to drive up and swap with..." they were like are you serious this is not the process... well will someone please tell me the process because I have delt with this now for over a year and no one is willing to help me. So word of warning, do not buy furniture from them because if you have any issues at all they wont help you and chances are they wont know what they are talking about for example, I called to get the model NUMBER and the lady in that specific department said "how do you expect me do figure that out?" I said well you tell me as you work in that department right? She didn't know how to find that. To say this has been a migraine of a headache is an understatement. Just do yourself a favor and don't buy it. Find a place that can explain the warranty to you before you buy. And in fact, get that in writing.

Pick up order problems
April 16, 2021

Hello, I have tried multiple times to do a pick up order today with no success. The first problem I encountered were many items were showing as in stock but not adding to my cart. I spoke in a chat with Gladdy who told me to send the sku #'s which I did. She told me those items were not in stock at my store and were not showing as in stock. I told her I had screen shots, she then told me to call my store for assistance. I called my store and spoke to the manager who told me that if items showed as in stock and you can't add them it means that someone in the store has the last available item of that product in their cart? I then found some items available and tried to complete my order. I had everything selected for pick up, and after giving my name and address it would not let me go to phase 2 and give my payment, it said in red no shipping selected. I then talked to Gladdy on chat again who told me to call a phone number, which I did and spoke to Norman who was able to get me to phase 2 and I was able to give my card number, but it would then not let me go to phase 3 and complete my order, so I was unable to order any items after 3 hours of trying.
Norman told me he was sorry he could not get my order to go through and suggested trying 2 hours later, which I did and the order went through! Now I am getting emails saying my ordered items are no longer in stock! OMG! I am adding pics of in stock said items it would not let me add. You will see the first screenshot of my canceled items (which I did not request, they just cancelled them). Next are shots of items that show as in stock but you cannot add to cart at my store in Eau Claire Wi, *******. I spent so much time trying to do this pick up order because they offer you a 15% discount for your first pick up order, which is an amazing deal if you can actually order anything. Whats sad is the items are still showing as in stock at my store, you can see the proof by going to biglots website and typing in the zipcode ******* and try adding the items pictured to your cart. What a hoax!

This is my 3rd online order this year. I'm constantly kicked off the site aned need to log onto my account again. Cancelled items NOt even emailed to notify me. I kept logging on. ANY promotional coupon shoud END when the stupid store closes not 11:59 est BECAUSE customer serive closes then also so you can't get any help and lose out on coupons, no matter how many times you close browser, log on, clean cookies and history. I think my 2 purchases before took 3 damn DAYS to complete. I was at war with the website and somwhow won. Even the cancelled- out of stick items magically appeared in 2 order on same day! So now i had another coupon AND my birthday coupon to use. Well apparently I kept shopping and editing my cart and now the pop up says I USED BOTH COUPONS! BUT I NEVER PLACED AN ACTUAL ORDER! Smoke is pouring out of my ears now. So my $10.00 birthday coupon is gone! Like wtf? Big lots website sucks! OH btw- most of the stuff you can buy on their website you CAN"T BUY in one of their actual stores! So you can't even get it in the store! Thye have the worst inventory control in a business I have even dealt with. The stuff's great if you can actually get the items you paid for to ship to your home which is what makes me try again like a stupid idiot. They get NO STAR RATING FROM ME!

I will admit - I used to be a HUGE shopper of Big Lots - and utilized their Rewards program on a VERY REGULAR basis. It was a phenomenal rewards program - and the items that used to be stocked for MANY years were pretty decent quality items, and Many years ago, you could find "close outs" of pretty nice things from pretty big name stores? For example, I bought a small end table either in 2007 or 2008 that was a Pier 1 End table AT BIG LOTS!? You could find hidden "gems" and treasures over the years, especially if it was on Clearance, AND you had rewards dollars? I used to get quite a few grocery items there - we are talking gourmet food items that was a BEST KEPT SECRET? Like jumbo garlic stuffed olives, and tins of smoked oysters? THEN they took over the Broyhill name The items were pretty decent quality - not as GREAT a quality as Broyhill was before the takeover - I even bought a number of home accessories there by Broyhill a few years ago like "lanterns", candles, Christmas decor on clearance, etc that was pretty nice. Fast forward to today - I pulled up Big Lots online and cringed at EVERY item on their site? EVERYTHING looked super cheap quality - even the Broyhill furniture looked like it had drastically declined- yet it seemed WAY over priced for the quality it looked like? Granted - I had not stopped in my local store yet - but if this is any indication of the direction Big Lots has taken the last 2-3 years - count me out!? A real shame! I was a pretty heavy shopper there for several years - but I did not even recognize the types of items the store is now selling? I guess I will just stick with Dollar Tree, TJ Maxx, Home Goods, etc where it may cost a little more, but I have NEVER bought anything of questionable quality from Home Goods or TJ Maxx, and Dollar Tree is Cheap stuff - may not be the best quality - some of it is not half bad - but at least you know what you are getting into when you buy from Dollar Tree?

I bought a recliner couch in Oct 2016 after 3 short months the recliner release on the left side snapped and we hardly use that side. I phoned Big lots they said they could exchange it I would just have to bring it in. I couldnt bring in the couch right away due to no truck or funds for uhaul. I brought it in in Jan 2017 after phoning two more times to make sure it was ok to still bring in the couch and to get it refunded back to the credit card I purchsed it with (big lots credit card) I was assured 3 times we could. 4 times if you count when we actually brought it in. In the process of the whole ordeal the employee returned the couch as "no receipt" I had my receipt and apparently gave me in store credit. I thought it was being credited back to the card so then we could purchase a different couch in which we did. She did not refund me back my tax money which she should have done. We ended up purchases a couch and recliner that were on sale and it was less than the money we paid for the original couch. So I am thinking we don't owe anymore on the credit card until they sent me a bill. I emailed them. They tell me to contact Big Lots. Big lots local manager wanted me to repurchase the items I got then the would refund me and apply it to the card. Which would be the same thing as me just paying off the $430 on the card which I dont believe I owe since I don't have the couch cuz it BROKE. I spoke to customer care she even said that was wrong and something didn't add up right so it was sent to a higher up deparment. I was told that I do owe the remaining balance because they could have only given me in store credit after 30 days. So now they are saying I pay the remaining 430 on the couch I no longer have and basically paying more money for the new furniture that isnt even valued as much! Dont ever buy anything from here!
