The company's reputation is marred by significant customer dissatisfaction, particularly regarding installation services, product returns, and customer support. Many reviews highlight issues with rushed installations and poor communication, leading to repeated service calls. Customers frequently encounter difficulties with returns and refunds, often citing long wait times and inadequate support from customer service representatives. While the company offers a wide selection of products and some positive experiences with online orders, the overarching sentiment suggests a need for substantial improvements in service reliability and customer care to enhance overall customer satisfaction.

Super hot employees. Prices could be cheaper. They claim to match prices but when i hopped across the street to a small business for dvd's they were a third of the price. Over rated but not horrible.
There are certain items I actually have to purchase here just based on how close they are to my house... But I Still have NEVER HAD BEST BUY HONOR ANY MEET OR BEAT PRICES FROM OTHER STORES. Ive even been told that the deal was too good... Unacceptable!
I have always bought my computers and laptops and cameras at Best Buy and I have always bought the extra protection because if something happens to your product you can take it back and the Geek Squad knows exactly what they're doing. They have the smartest people working there ever.
Best Buy is not a go-to place for me anymore. There is not a good selection of electronics or games or movies. I like that they sometimes try to price-match other sellers, but there is better selection on-line. Plus, their monster-cables are a total rip-off.
I was shopping for a series of appliances (gas range, dishwasher)and their associated connection kits and found the best price at best buy. After ordering both for in-store pickup, I received an email the next day telling me there was a problem with my card. When I called to try to resolve it, they couldn't tell me what the problem was, couldn't re-enter my information, and couldn't cancel my order. I was told I would just have to wait until the system finished "kicking the order back."
Since their technical issues are not my problem, I told them to figure it out and cancel my order, and I ended up finding the same appliances cheaper somewhere else. After three months, I received an email from Best Buy: "Your order is ready for pickup!" I checked my credit card statement and found they had indeed charged me for the entire appliance order.
Again, I tried canceling the order through the website. While some of the items cancelled, others simply didn't have the option. I emailed customer service explaining what had happened (pretty close to this review in wording) and was told "We're sorry you're frustrated (non-apology), we'll cancel the order but it may take 3-5 days to process." Fine. Except that today I got another email saying "Your order is ready for pickup!"
Needless to say I'm never shopping at best buy again. Their online system is completely broken, which coupled with their inept customer service has made this a horrible experience.
Everytime I go into best buy I always have a problem getting service. When I ask for one person to help me they tell me it is not their department and they point and tell me to go in another direction. When someone is helping me I feel like I am being rushed and like I am asking too many questions. However when it comes to check out they are very nice. This occurs in Fairfield California store
I love coming to this store. I am a tech buff. I love technology. If it makes life simpler, I love it. What I like the most of best buy is the fact that they always have refurbished items at very low competitive prices. I usually come here to buy tablets, laptops, and PCs. Mostly electronics. And whats important is that they all come with warranties. So you are in a way covered. If you are looking to purchase refurbished goods and decent prices. I think this might be the right place :)
I bought all my appliances for a new house at Best Buy because of the 0% finance. That was nine years ago and have never had a problem with any of the appliances! I have bought other items since then and have always been a satisfied customer.
I like Best buy they have some real good bargains customer care is fantastic any faults or damaged items they replace or a refund I would recommend Best buy to family and friends.
They have a lot of cool merchandise but they're pretty expensive.
I have had good luck with them I have bought a couple of computers and a lot of computer things. I have used their computer repair service, the "Geek Squad" with good service from them.
Best Buy is fine if what you are looking for is a mainstream, vanilla item. Don't look for any specialty items. And make sure you want what you are buying because it's irritating to make a return to Best Buy. It seems like the store does everything it can to discourage returns. They charge a re-stocking fee too. Ordering from the website is odd because sometimes it seems like the supplier is NOT actually Best Buy. I ordered a group of items, and one of the items was not from Best Buy (it seemed like it was from some affiliated company), so it took forever to receive it. I still don't understand it, so just be aware of the supplier when you are ordering. Might change the time amount of time it takes for shipping. Otherwise, my orders have all gone fine. Got what I wanted, shipping time was fine, etc. Just follow my golden "Best Buy" rule: make sure you WANT what you are ordering so you can avoid the horror of doing a return. The website itself is amazingly unremarkable for a company that's selling electronics. You would think that they'd spiff it up and make it really great, but it's not. Not to me at least. I'm always surprised at how hard it is to find stuff I want too. Overall pretty unimpressive. But it's certainly a legitimate website with legitimate products, so there's that.
The Best Buy web site is a great resource for finding product. Unfortunately, it doesn't easily tell me if a product is in stock and if so, what the in store price is. The best that I can do is determine whether I can pick it up today if I order it on-line. Often, I would like to comparison shop product in the store after doing initial research on line..
I recently bought a phone case protector from Best Buy, Worked perfectly for over 6-10 months and is still working to this day. It is in superb condition also. I have also bought controllers for different systems and honestly it works but they do not advise you or talk to you about how to put on cases or how the things work. Fair.
Such a nice store, I am satisfied for their fast shipping.
The store closest to my home is great. The one by my parent's home is not so great. Add to that, the online purchases made are almost like buying from a separate company. Complications with an online order have to be dealt with through that avenue. Otherwise, the store here is great, the people helpful, the sales enticing and everything is clean and organized. So I say take a chance, but be wary.
Called the store first with our issue, as we live 35 minutes away, and were told no problem, come on in. Packed up our kids and headed into town.
When we arrived, with our receipt and the item in the original packaging, we are not only given the run-around by the customer service department, they actually laughed at us, to our faces, including one of their managers!
Tried tweeting about the problem only to be told that this was their "policy."
Needless to say, we will never be paying any employee of BB's salary, nor will any of our family and friends: the company truly is a work of art!
Better deals online than the actual store. I wonder if thats not their objective after all
Answer: I am sure there is a catch-like a 2 year contract. No one gives you a phone for $1
Answer: All I can say is that you obviously have been very lucky. I was a dedicated customer for 25 years, however, I would do without before I ever spent another dime in a Best Buy!
Answer: I would write a letter to your state's attorney general. There are laws regarding taking advantage of senior citizens. I would specifically ask for documentation from Best Buy in which your grandmother gave them permission to recycle her 18 month old computer. If they cannot produce that document they may be in very big trouble with the state's attorney general. I would also write the BBB and contact your public officials. This I think would be paramount to theft if your grandmother did not give them permission to recycle her computer. On the flip side of things, ASUS is a very good machine. My son is a computer scientist and swears by ASUS. I have three ASUS machines one of which is over 5 years old and it is a workhorse. Unless something significant happens in the ASUS business world, I will continue to buy ASUS!
Answer: Great question. Let us know if you were able to get reimbursed.
Answer: I chose Best Buy tech support because they seemed to offer a good deal on support and I bought my products there. I'll go elsewhere now.
