The company's reputation is marred by significant customer dissatisfaction, particularly regarding installation services, product returns, and customer support. Many reviews highlight issues with rushed installations and poor communication, leading to repeated service calls. Customers frequently encounter difficulties with returns and refunds, often citing long wait times and inadequate support from customer service representatives. While the company offers a wide selection of products and some positive experiences with online orders, the overarching sentiment suggests a need for substantial improvements in service reliability and customer care to enhance overall customer satisfaction.

I purchased a new Iphone for an event that my wife would have in 5 days. I was promised by the cell phone sales/technician that the phone would be shipped by two day shipping. Twelve days later (a week after my wife's celebration party) I got the phone. Double Bummer: I had to go to my wife's party with only excuses. Honey, I used Best Buy. Never Again. Back to Amazon
Returns can be tough occasionally but overall very good
One of the bestest site to get great deals by Best Buy.com personally i gave four star rating because of there best quality, quantity and customer service and yes, there catchy discounted deals
Best Buy has some of the best deals out there and carry really quality products. In fact, this laptop I'm doing this review on is over 4 years old and was purchased at Best Buy.
Happened a couple months ago but buyer beware! Needed a new laptop so I went to their store and purchased one. I also decided to throw in a chill pad for it since the last laptop overheated a few times. I paid and while the associate was bagging up my order I decided to go look at phone cases. I went to pick up my shopping bag and left. I didn't look inside, that was my fault but when I got home I realized chill pad was not in the bag! I called their customer service right away since the store had already closed and the guy sounded a little skeptical, I get it but said they would review their cameras and get back to me. I'm thinking awesome, as soon as they realize their mistake I can get said chill pad. I called them back the next day and had to explain all over again. I was on hold for 45 minutes before I gave up. I called the store directly, same run around. They said they would do inventory and if they found an extra one they would contact me. I stopped holding my breath a while back. That's $50 I consider stolen from me by Best Buy. What really gets me is that the bill with everything was over $1050. Why would I make it up just to get an extra chill pad? What possible reason would I have to scam them over $50 after I just spent $1000? Oh well, they lost me as a customer because it's not right. Many places sell electronics. Sorry it's long but this is therapeutic for me. Hope you have a better experience. Check your bags please!
Last Black Friday, we bought what was supposed to be a Surface Pro 3 for a huge discount. My pen had major lag issues so they provided another one(a Surface Pro 3 pen) and it never worked again. I questioned GeekSquad about the fact that it only said Surface on the back and not Surface 3. They claimed they all said that. It was a new technology to me so I didn't argue. Then I put it away because without a working pen, it was no use to me. Later I did some research, downloading updates to the firmware and drivers. It claimed I didn't have a Surface Pro 3. I figured it was a bad install, put it back in the closet after a couple more installs. Then it dawned on me to compare the Surface models. Sure enough, I found my model was the Surface and my pen didn't work because it had a totally different pen. I am trying to find the box so I can confront them, but I'm sure after almost a year, there's nothing they will do about it.
Buyer, make sure you know the differences in products you're going to buy, especially during huge sales. I don't know if they did it on purpose to get more sells or if it was truly an accident that never got caught, but it was $800 and I believe they were selling the Surface for $500 at that point. I gave it two stars because this is the first time I've ever had a problem with them.
Of our experiences with Best Buy, my daughters TV was the worst. She bought a 50" console TV. She financed it, and signed a contract. First she told them she wanted to purchase an agreement to have the TV serviced every year, and they checked that off. She repeated that a couple times. She didn't notice until a year later, looking back at the contract after phone calls to Best Buy that they checked off that she did NOT want that service. On line we found many complaints that they never do the servicing anyway. Then at the end, she paid the TV within the allotted time, so there would be no finance charge. If she went past the date, all finance charges would be added. She submitted her final payment on line with a week to spare. Then a bill came, they processed her payment one day late and added the charges. It was a battle, but we proved it was paid on time and they cancelled the charges. So my entire family avoids this store, we don't even enter the doors.
My laptop for a long time never let me use my mouse pad, I always had to use my mouse. So I went into Best Buy and talked with tech support and in less than a minute he showed me the key I must have touched long ago and did not know about that key. What a jerk I felt Iike, but all is well now, happy I went there even after being in the business of 28 years teaching repairs, programming and writing programs. I am never to old to learn. He did not charge me and he would not take any money so I put it in his pocket and said thank you and left.
Very helpful sales people and prices are not so bad.
Have a lot of different varieties so good place to buy.
I receive many e-mails from Best Buy that will keep you up to date on the new technology that is coming out. They also send you a list of "Out of Box" items that are at discounted prices. I think I will be looking for a new kindle next. Always a great place to go for games, electronics and appliances.
I was lucky enough to find a fabulous stereo system for a great price on their website. I ordered and my item came to my house in what seemed like no time at all! The packaging adequately protected my item from damage during transit. I'll definitely be buying here again.
Again, if you are willing to shop around, you can get the exact thing for much better price.
This is one of those businesses that you go into looking for someone to help you find a particular item and you walk around the department for 30+ minutes for help and the sales people, (usually barely high school graduate age) walk right passed you to wait on a young person, or are standing shooting the breeze with other late teen or early twenty something sales staff members and totally ignoring you.
Great Deals Available but short time Windows. You have to keep up with your email to see the 4 hour online sale or you miss it! If you have time it is a good thing.
Good prices and service! Never a bad experience here.
I used best buy for all of my electronic purchases because I know that I will be helped by a knowledgeable and friendly associate. Yes and get cheaper prices at at your warehouse stores but there's cheaper prices come with a lack of support and questions being answered by people for a well trained and well versed in today's technology.
Although BestBuy has a lot of variety, the prices are just too high. Amazon sells the same merchandise for such a lower price.
We have a Geek Squad service contract (but not for much longer). We had them do a home visit to check out our high-end gaming computer. The guy did very little actual diagnostic, and then told us we should have the thermal paste replaced because it was over heating. But he couldn't do it in-home because they aren't allowed to and to take it into the store. So we called the store and they said they aren't allowed to do it because if they mess it up there might be liability. I asked if that meant they weren't competent to do it, and they said they were competent, but that they weren't allowed to do it in case they mess it up. Bottom line, they tell you things that aren't true and they are incompetents. Don't waste your time and money on them.
Answer: I am sure there is a catch-like a 2 year contract. No one gives you a phone for $1
Answer: All I can say is that you obviously have been very lucky. I was a dedicated customer for 25 years, however, I would do without before I ever spent another dime in a Best Buy!
Answer: I would write a letter to your state's attorney general. There are laws regarding taking advantage of senior citizens. I would specifically ask for documentation from Best Buy in which your grandmother gave them permission to recycle her 18 month old computer. If they cannot produce that document they may be in very big trouble with the state's attorney general. I would also write the BBB and contact your public officials. This I think would be paramount to theft if your grandmother did not give them permission to recycle her computer. On the flip side of things, ASUS is a very good machine. My son is a computer scientist and swears by ASUS. I have three ASUS machines one of which is over 5 years old and it is a workhorse. Unless something significant happens in the ASUS business world, I will continue to buy ASUS!
Answer: Great question. Let us know if you were able to get reimbursed.
Answer: I chose Best Buy tech support because they seemed to offer a good deal on support and I bought my products there. I'll go elsewhere now.
