I love Barnes and Noble. Its always so nice to walk in it's so nice and quiet. I love how all the books are well organized by category. Also how you can get a coffee there and read your book in peace
Reading is one of my favorite things to do, one of my favorite hobbies out there. This store is one of my favorite stores to purchase books from. They have any book you could possibly imagine. It's just simply amazing. :)
Excellent site and excellent for obtaining books of various kinds. I have found a slight contrast between Barnes and Noble and Amazon.com in that the images of certain books are sometimes not uploaded on Amazon.com as they are for Barnes and Noble. This is of course from my own personal experience.
They are well known, recognized and trusted. Let's hope they stay that way especially in terms of efficient deliveries of books.
Terrible, terrible service. I bought a nook years ago and it died. Not unexpected... it did last longer than I thought. However, over the years I obtained over 500 books. The site is saying I bought 32. Really?! Customer service is rude and unhelpful. They will NOT advance a call to a supervisor upon request. If you need to update anything (like an email address) you have to reset the nook back to original settings (and lose everything you've bought because it's not in their library). THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS LOST! AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
So i had a gift card for $50 and the total cost was $50.82. When I submitted the order, the online B&N sight applied the gift card and withdrew the $0.82 from my debit card. Then told me there was an error because i checked out as a guest an wasn't a "member". I called customer service immediately. They had me submit the order again. Then I got the error that "the gift card has already been used and had a zero balance".
Granted - they are trying to fix the issue so I can use the gift card to re-order and the NEW $0.82 charge should "drop off" so I am not double-tapped.
It's an atrocious web-site... I would not have shopped at B&N website but I had a gift card to use. Should have ordered from AMZ or Walmart. Those websites are more professional and do not make such juvenile errors.
Barnes & Noble has significantly gone downhill.
As a grad student, I've used them since 2014 to order my textbooks, but in the last year or so, my books show up later than what's promised on their website. They have several shipping options like: free, standard (arrives in 6-8 days); $8.99, express (arrives in 2-3 days), and $15.48, expedited (arrives 1-2 days). The first time I ordered from them, I chose standard and my book arrives about a month late. The second time I ordered from them, I chose standard & the book never arrived. I kept checking the order tracking & it showed it was in a town about 20 miles from me, so I kept waiting. I eventually contacted B&N support and they told me the book was lost, nothing they could do.
The most recent time I ordered from them, I ordered the book on Tuesday, 9/12 and paid for expedited shipping, expecting it to come Thursday or Friday. By Saturday, the book hadn't arrived, so I contacted customer support who told me it takes about 7 days for their processing center to even process the order and that I could expect it October 5 -- over 3 weeks after I put in the order. It's extremely misleading to have it in checkout that if you order a book using expedited shipping, it'll arrive in 1-2 business days and to charge over $15 for that shipping if the book is going to arrive 3 weeks later.
TLDR Shipping is an absolute mess, shows up much later than advertised. This is why B&N is losing business to Amazon.
I am a newly published author, Nefertiti Wolf. However, I have had my books printed by Lulu.com and Amazon with never a problem. I ordered my books through my publisher using Barnes & Noble the BEGINNING of December. Barnes & Noble completely ruined my books by misprinting: using different size font on multiple pages along with cutting off one of the illustrations on one page. Not to mention it is now February and they have not corrected my order despite our many emails (since you can't call). I have now lost money waiting on books I ordered 2 months ago. If you are an author, do yourself a favor and DO NOT use Barnes & Noble as a printing source. They are the absolute worst.
I wish I had more time to sit in Barnes and Noble and study. I used to a lot in undergrad. The atmosphere is great, they have all the books you need. The online to store ordering experience is also great.
I find this site to be filled with the latest books as well as older books. I am a voracious reader and like to own my books so I can pass them on to my friends when I am done. We like to share our books. Barnesandnoble.com provides a great way to buy books at great prices. The shipping is fast and it is easy to use my gift cards!
I have never been treated so rudely as when I visited the Vancouver, Washington location. The cafe team treated me well however the lady Christian and who said she was the manager while the manger was not here was incredibly rude and needed tutoring on customer service. She told me to push in my chair which was fine but then stood there to find how else she could harass me and told me not to plug in my Mac into their outlets. I just visited another store and had no problems. I am n graduate school and like studying their while enjoying their menu. Borders went out of business and it started with poor customer service. She represents a whole company and investors of which she has a fiduciary responsibility to by treating paying customers well. She obviously has not been trained on the topic and that is why many of the brick and mortar businesses go out of business by hiring without proper training. It could be that I was the only African American in the store causing her discomfort. So sad.
Barnes & Noble South Asheville NC has removed all conservative literature from their store. I suggest they are practicing cancel culture and need to be boycotted.
Found item for 10 cheaper at Walmart. They refused to price match. Will not order from them again. Have not even received it yet. Shipping takes too long also.
Actually liked the store, it was advised by my brother. Reasonable values on the books, wide range to choose from and quite fast shipping. Think I`ll return for more.
They do nothing to assist with an obviously lost package until after the arbitrary "expected delivery date" has passed. I will buy elsewhere in the future.
Where do I even begin? B&N online is the absolute worst! Their website is terrible. I paid 10.00 for express shipping to my friend for her birthday. The website said it takes 2-4 business days. I ordered on Tuesday and now the UPS tracking says it will be delivered 7 DAYS FROM THE ORDER DATE. The agents on the chat feature are horrible -- rude, stupid, and do not care about customers. I called the 800 number and like all customer service departments these days, nobody speaks English and if they do, it's broken, obnoxious, and rude. Their customer service department is outsourced in India, so there you go! I HAVE BEEN A LOYAL CUSTOMER TO THE BARNES & NOBLE BRICK & MORTAR STORES, BUT NOW, AFTER THIS HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE, I WILL NEVER SPEND ANOTHER DIME! I SHOULD HAVE GONE WITH AMAZON IN THE FIRST PLACE.
If i could give it 0 stars I would. I hate barnes and Noble you stupid little s h i t s i enjoy reading for the first time in 8 years and you take away my book on the last chapter. You are the worst and i cant wait for all the old people to die so that you go out of business, clearly youre already heading there since you can't update your nook site. I hate BARNES AND NOBLE
I love this place so many choices of books. It is very well organized by section. I also like you can have coffee while you read.
I was so happy Barnes and Noble carries Kpop albums and ordered two on cyber Monday. One was a preorder of StrayKids Christmas EveL which is how I would describe my holiday shopping experience with Barnes and Noble. After I deliberately ordered this album, I received the notification that my order was an entirely different album I have never heard of. There is no way I would have accidentally ordered the wrong album. I was debating as I checked out whether I should even do the preorder because they didn't indicate when the preorder would be ready. They don't allow you to make any changes after an extremely short time so I'm stuck having to return an album I never ordered in the first place. I will never shop at Barnes and Noble again. Their support was so insulting and unhelpful. They are the true Christmas Evil!
Love everything. Store, coupons, programs, community involvement, choices, customer service, Nook and café. I am a rewards member and do save a lot of money also getting free shipping.
This book was a good purchase, I recommend for those who love a historical fantasy story but in a school setting. It contains a detailed enough story line and never leaves you bored.
