Besides mom and pop specialty bookstores, Barnes and Noble are the best thing going when you need a book immediately. Although pricier compared to Amazon, the B&N membership softens that blow, along with having a good stock of books on hand. The children section in my store is far from the beaten path, and they have a nice section where they can read and play while the adult shoppers are never hassled. There's also scheduled reading events for children and more so during the holidays. Most B&N stores have Starbucks inside, who also honour the membership discount. The workers at mine are also friendly, so 5 stars
I've been a member for over a decade and the quality has hit rock bottom. I can't even order online anymore or get competent customer service! I have spent hundreds and they don't care! Was treated like trash! I hope they go under; they are that HORRIBLE! Avoid at all costs! Here's your sign!
Customer service rep order a book for me and told be there in 2-3 days but book never arrived, just waste my time. The sale price was high also compare to other store. And store manager do not care when talk to them.
Good place to shop but doesn't offer a great variety in DVD packages besides being expensive. Nowadays we can watch pretty much anything via other services. The only reason for me to buy the DVDS is to give as a gift. Think of a way to promote the product And charge less.
I ordered a book from US to be shipped to Canada. It was apparently back ordered and I found the book elsewhere in stock. B&N won't cancel my order, it's upto me to wait however long it is then I have to pay to return it. Try and find a human to call - impossible! I'll never buy from such a shoddy outfit again.
This book is amazing. The way Jeff tells the story in such a detail. It made me feel like I was in the room with him. A very inspiring story about the rise of Linkin Park and how Jeff played such a big part in making their success a reality. If you love Linkin Park. If You love rock music. This is a story you don't wanna miss. I would pick it up today!
I ordered beats studio by dre. As a. Gift for my husbands birthday. I received the package 1day befor the party. I notice that the box was a lil tampered so i opened it to find that there were no head phones I immediately called c/s an spoke to a supervisor. She offerd to send me out another pair. But I refused it, being that there was such short notice. So she kindly credited back my card with the amount of $326.60 I had it the next day. I think that there b&n are vary kind. Its just ups or fedex that's taking advantage of it
I went there Mar 23,2023 and realized the whole store seem to change by where things are as well as the CS - Darryl seem to outgoing to customers but when I came up, he seem judgemental, not very friendly with me. I wasn't impressed with him.
I ordered a gift card before Christmas, it was supposed to arrive at the latest by December 30th. It never arrived. Then I saw it had updated to arrive by January 5th. It is now January 7th and I still have not received it. How hard is it to ship a gift card?! I have family that has not received their Christmas gift from me and now I'll have to email them an e-gift card. Very disappointed with Barnes and Noble shipping. I LOVE this store and I will still go to their stores in person, but wow. I will not order online from them again. I'd give them 5 stars if it weren't for shipping.
I went today to purchase a book that came out 2 days ago. Now I had ankle surgery a few days ago and obviously and struggling to walk. I couldn't find the book in "New Releases". I could not find a single employee to ask, so I stumbled to the check out desk and asked the 1 worker. She said they had the book way back in a different section and called someone to bring it to the front. She was told the copy they had in stock is being held for someone. That seems very strange since all the "Hold" books are in shelves behind the desk where I was standing. Why would this book not be with others on hold, and why would this not show up in the computer when the girl checked? Seems like the second employee didn't want to help out. They offered to order the book for me, but I declined saying I could order it on Amazon for most likely a lower price. Indeed, I was able to order this book $10 cheaper and will get it faster. Customer service at B&N has declined to the point that I don't want to shop there anymore.
They lost my package, the tracking number "doesn't exist" and I've called twice and been given the run around to get my $$ back. They have an antiquated system, rude customer service personnel and seem confused by their own procedures. A huge hassle which has wasted my time and money. Avoid if possible, you will be thankful you did.
Barnes & Noble is easy to love. I got their discount card a long time ago and keep renewing it because the deals are great. Somehow, it's easier and even cheaper to order books through Barnes & Noble online than it is to pick up in the store. I don't know how that happens, but it's so convenient to just go on the computer, pick out what you're looking for, read all the book reviews, and place the order. Shipping is usually free too. And, books get here fast - like I said, you gotta love it!
I never write bad reviews, but this is crazy. I ordered a text book and paid extra for two day delivery. After not receiving my book, I contacted them. I was told that it would be several weeks to get it. I have already have had two quizzes without my book. I ordered it from somewhere else and it came in two days. I asked to cancel my order and they said I could not and had to wait until it was delivered in another three weeks. I will never do business with them again. Horrible just horrible.
I've been buying books forever from this place. These days I buy them through my Nook. Their coffee shops and free wifi are a real pleasure to visit and I often go there to work when I need to work but am tired of the office.
I'm so glad that a real bookstore still exist. We love shopping there. Always helpful staff and they will spend as much time as needed to find what we are looking for. They make it easy to ship books when they are out of stock.
I bought Barnes & Noble Nook The Simple Touch Reader several month ago and I want to share my experience. In my mind it is a good reading machine with lots of advantages. Its E Ink display is perfect, the quality of image is almost like paper book and it allows comfortable reading even in bright sun. I also enjoy the way how the menu is organized as well as speed of browsing and page turns. However, the battery life is only several days although it is declared to be over 2 month. Because of this I don't take this eReader in a long trips.
Except for this issue with the battery capacity it is a great ebook at a great price.
I saw this particular book on Facebook, and certainly don't have to even open it up to see it purposely resembles so many political cartoons of our president, Donald Trump. I believe it is in poor taste; above what I expect from Barnes and Noble. ( I give it 1 star only because there is not an option for a ZERO.)
Be very careful when you buy online from Barnes & Noble they lie about the day you will receive your book and after you buy it they send you an email saying that you will receive it 3 weeks later because they do not have it on hand. And when you call customer service they don't cancel your order and the only thing they offer you is a label so you can send the product back so they can refund your money. If you need a book sooner go to the store in person or look for another place where you can buy it faster.
I used to love this store. Now, from my location, I have to shop online. The site is terrible! The images do not always match the product description and customer service does not care to see it fixed. If the price is too good to be true, it probably isn't in stock and they will notify you after ordering it. Customer service over the phone is awful. Do not trust product pictures! Read the descriptions well! You might not get what you should and they will not honor a lower price if they get it wrong.
I was so excited to receive my order of four books from Barnes and Noble. I was disappointed though, when I opened the box. Each of the four books was torn up and ripped. I very seriously could have received better condition books used. I can at least return my books to a store, but my shipping won't be refunded. I don't think I'll be ordering online from Barnes and Noble again. First and last time for me, which stinks.
