I have purchased from Appleseed's stores, catalog, and their affiliates for many years and had issues in the past but this last one is unforgivable. As has been my practice, I returned several catalog purchases to one of the Appleseed's stores. The items were from the same order but arrived at different times, so I had several receipts. The clerk accepted the items, marked each receipt for the returned items and told me the items would go out "when the bin is full." When I was finally credited for the returns, the credit amount was less than the value of the returned items. When I called for an explanation, I was told that there were 3 mailing charges, each $9.99. Had I known there would be a charge, I would have placed all the items in one bag and mailed them for a total of $9.99 but I was never told about a mailing charge. No amount of explanation about how I returned the items, never having used a mailing label, changed the situation. The charges remain.

I have had the same experience a number of times. Appleseed's makes a product sound comfortable, well-made, and flattering. When it turn out to be none of the above, they refuse to pay the mailing charges to send it back. Next, the infer that they might not take it back.

Inferior company to deal with online. I assume they mainly exploit older people. Sad.

I bought product # ASA******* Popover top with drawstring cream/black. Ugly and ill-fitting. Cheap fabric.

I like some of the clothing in the past. I live in Alaska and ordering onlline is impossible and frustrating. When entering the state it will not register. Once I managed to enter the state my order would not go forward, the computer keep indicating that the state needed to be entered! Also free postage code doesn't work for Alaska and not even a break is given. Other companies like LL Bean and Landsend honor us as being part of USA. I am disappointed and don't understand.

I placed an on line order with Tog shop before Christmas 2015. On 12/30/2015, I contacted the company to find out about delivery. The order had not even been processed. Over the course of the next week I was told by management and six other customer service people that the order would arrive on 1/8/2016 ( they offered "expedited delivery "due to previous company errors). On 1/8/2016 the order was not delivered. I contacted the company again and was told by another agent that I "must have been mistaken". The order was shipped on 1/7 and wouldn't arrive until 1/19/206. NEVER NEVER use these people--they are terrible liars. Very dishonest.

If you order from this company be prepared to be ripped off. If you call for customer service, service is not what you get. The run-around is, They won't let you cancel your order. And they will not ship on time. They will lie to you and tell you that your order has been shipped. This is not true. They will tell you that they have no visibility to see whether you have a shipping tracking number because "they are backed up". They are lying to you. This is very fraudulent behavior. This company needs to be shut down and its employees need to go to jail. Period.

I placed an order online that totaled $254.92, and received a confirmation-- and then, nothing! No shipping info after days of waiting until, a week later I phoned and was told that because of the high dollar total of the order ($250 is high dollar value these days?), they needed confirmation from me! I thought that was ludicrous, but I reasonably asked why, then, they had not contacted me. They said that now that I had contacted them, and confirmed my name and address, they could clear the order. What planet are these people living on? I will never shop with this outfit again.

I should've looked at the reviews for this website. I ordered a sweater from this website around oct. 15 2015 for a costume. A week later it said it atrived in the mail, i checked and it wasnt there. I emailed the company to complain abd all they did was offer me a discount off my next purchase, i got no money back on a $45 sweater. F**K this website. Then guess what came in the mail today? Its March 10 2016 and i finally got it. I dont even want it anymore, i just wanted it for my costume. This place is a waste of time and money, customer service is horrible. Dont ever shop here.

In 5/20 I ordered 4 items. On 6/22 I received 1 item and was charged. I was notified the same day that 1 other item was sold out. The other 2 were still on back order. I called on 6/29 to cancel the 2 additional items. Today I was notified that the 1 item I already received was shipped again and I was charged again. The only full price item I should add. Called customer service and they could not find the order already shipped that I was charged for. They have to "investigate" and cannot tell me how long that will take. I have never had a worse experience and I will never order from them again. Buyer beware. Appleseed's is AWFUL!

Despite repeated requests, Appleseed's has refused to remove my address from their list of catalog subscribers. Six months ago I purchased a condo from an estate. The previous owner received many, many catalogs including Appleseed's. On June 7,2017 I called and requested that they stop sending catalogs. They said the name and address would be taken off the mailing list but I would still receive 2-3 more as they were already printed. I was still receiving catalogs in October and called the company again. I was assured that the name had been removed from the mailing list. I called again on December 28 and the name was still on the list. I received their latest catalog the week of January 15. I've received 6 catalogs since making my first request in June. It certainly appears that Appleseed's has a policy to ignore requests to discontinue their catalog.

Unbelievably HORRIBLE experience. The Customer Service Reps will tell you anything, refuse to let you speak to a supervisor and simply keep saying there is nothing they can do. Appleseeds does not care about the customer. I will not spend another dime with them.

Beware of signing up for Appleseeds VIP Plus when ordering on line. It is hidden with a discount on your order followed by your credit card being charged $14.97 each month. VIP for a catalog? So disappointing... I was charged for 2 months before I caught it; I received absolutely nothing for it.

Deceptive advertising

Deceptive advertising. Their add says free shipping with $100 order yet when you buy with an order over $100 they charge you for shipping unless you buy a 14.95 A MONTH for a membership so you can get free shipping. Nothing but a scam.

I ordered a "Foxcroft" shirt only to discover that it's really "Foxcroft for Appleseed's" For the life of me I can't understand how Foxcroft allows its name to be used because this shirt bears little resemblance to the real thing. The material is thin and scratchy. I don't know about the fit because once I saw the poor quality, I didn't even try it on.

I wish I had visited this site BEFORE ordering. I ordered a two piece outfit, and got the bottoms got the bottoms only. I was informed the top was on baqkorder, which was strange because the website said it was in stock. I then got an e-mail stating I would get the top soon. After 50 days I tried calling to see what was up, and got their automated service and went the gamut with that, only to be informed that my order had ben cancelled. Apparently they can't get the top anymore and now I'm stuck with the bottoms without a top, because I have lost the invoice that came with the bottoms. The clothes look good in the catalog, but their service is awful. I would have had to pay for shipping twice as well, from what I've read in other complaints. Don't buy from this catalog, they don't have their act together.

Purchased a $31.99 jacket in April. Ordered the XS because they said it fits large. It was too small so I returned it for an EXCHANGE to get it in small. Never received it so I called. Their customer service told me that I did not return it for an exchange and that they would have to reorder it for me. Like the very next day, I received the "exchange," but when I called them they said it was too late to cancel the reorder their customer service
Had done. Returned the second jacket for a full refund since it was their fault, but hey, they say it was my fault. Bottom line: I ended up paying $67 for the $32 jacket! I finally gave up trying to explain to them their mistake. They make their money in shipping charges and their mistakes. Bottom line... do not buy from Appleseeds or their affiliates!

I ordered a short wool coat from Appleseeds. The coat was very poor quality. The zipper did not work properly and one sleeve was shorter than the other. I would think twice before ordering from them again.

I ordered 2 shirts. While doing so I joined the VIP PLUS. Which was my error in not hearing it was $14.97 PER MONTH, so be aware. One of the 2 shirts arrived and I was charged $14.99 freight. How much does 1 cotton shirt weigh? I have been trying to cancel the second unreceived shirt and I was on hold for 47 minutes before I hung up. If the place is closed, why do they send you to wait for the next available agent? I have cancel the VIP, and will cancel accounts I have with them and am trying to get the catalogue canceled as well. The business model is shoddy and not worth your time.

Ordered merchandise from Appleseed's; and, signed up for their Appleseed Plus thinking I was getting priority benefits because of my patonage.

I found 2 months later I was being changed $14.97 a month for this "service". Nothing in the literagure indicated there would be a change, and certainly nothing to say it would amount to over $175.00 annually.

This for 20% discount on purchases; free shipping; and, advance notificaitons or products.

Unless you purchase over $1,500.00 worth of goods from this organization this is sort of a major rip off.

They were very fast to cancel the "subscription" which indicates to me, this is a scam many of their "customers" have discovered and cancelled as soon as they realize they were being charged for shopping at Appleseed's.

If you have signed up for the Plus benefits, check your statements.

I ordered a 3/4 sleeve top recently and kept getting updates over the numerous weeks before I received the order. When the package finally arrived, it was a pair of Paisley pajamas which I never ordered. Some incompetent employee filled my order incorrectly. There were no papers included which I was told there should be. I was told to write a code on the package which revealed the order was a mistake and I would be credited the entire amount that I was billed. They credited me allright, but NOT NEARLY THE FULL AMOUNT! Repeated contact with customer service has been unsuccessful. BUYER BEWARE!

Your shipping department is SOOO slow! In order to receive the merchandise the Summer is already over until you deliver! To call you they put you on hold forever... I ordered frequently from LIBean and it takes the 2 or 3 days maximum If you have an even exchange because of size, you are never charged for shipping.
It is a shame because you have nice merchandise but you administration is inefficient I will never order from you anymore
