The items on the internet look pretty, however, the merchandise is a different shade when you see the item. Over the years, I saw the quality go down hill as well as the customer service. Never thought the customer service would be this bad. Ordered 4 items, 3 were received (however, will be returned) the 4th item was to be received April 5. Customer service took me it was shipped on 3/31 and I would just need to wait for the item to be received. Delivery could be 10 business days after shipment. That's the middle of April. But AS tells me it will be received April 5. That is not true. When I call AS, the message said wait time was 76 minutes.
Any future catalogues will go in the trash can.
I purchased a coat from this company. The reviews said it ran small so I ordered a size up. I did not realize that the coat was on clearance. When I received the coat it was huge, unwearable. I completed the form and requested an exchange. Three weeks later I received an email saying that I was not eligible for an exchange since the item was on clearance and they would ship the coat back to me.
I called to request an exception be made as this was the first time I had ordered from Appleseeds and did not check the policy. I also requested that rather than a refund I would happily accept a credit so I could buy something else. No was the reply.
As of today I was told the coat has not been received at the warhouse, it has been three weeks since sending USPS and I am out 100.00.
I would never do business with this company again. I see now why the company has such low ratings.
I bought from Appleseeds because my mom had heard people liked their clothing. Mom wears either an XL or a 1X on top. I purchased a xl mock turtleneck and a 1x zip up cardigan. I also bought pants. I purchased the three things and spent more than I normally would because I wanted the free shipping.
When my mom went to put on the zip sweater, she couldn't get it on. She was shocked because the XL mock was huge in comparison to the 1X sweater! She put them on her bed to show me how much the XL shirt was compared to the 1X. She said, "Obviously it was sized wrong."
I brought it home and compared it to a medium sweater I have and it was almost the same size!
I called to return, because I didn't see a return option, and they said that because it was on clearance, it wasn't returnable. I said that, that would be fine if it was the right size and she simply didn't want it, which I knew wouldn't be the case. Anyways, now I am stuck with a $30 dollar sweater that is too long for me and doesn't fit my mom.
I will NOT be shopping at appleseeds again!
Customer Service at Appleseed's is horrid. When you call their toll free number you get connected to someone overseas that cannot remedy anything and has difficulty in communication. When you text them on their website chat, you are told to "just wait longer".
I had ordered some items Nov. 30, and received an email that it was shipped Dec. 3. On Dec. 10, I went to FedEx tracking and noticed that only a shipping label was generated… FedEx did not receive any items to ship out. I notified Appleseed's, but was told to just wait another 10 days. As anticipated, nothing was ever shipped. To add insult to injury when I contacted Appleseed's on the 17th, I was told they do not re-ship, but since I had ordered on-line using a credit card they will issue a credit… but just wait 1 to 2 billing cycles for the credit to appear. Really!? This company is such a ripoff! I wish I had seen the reviews earlier; I would never have bought anything from them. Will have to wait and see if I actually get the refund!
2 issues
1. My computer automatically enters my credit card info, except security code, which I have to enter, but the website said it was invalid. I hand entered two more times. Still invalid. Could not call Appleseed's at this time, Next morning, all was saved, including credit card, and this time accepted. I did not re-enter anything. But the promotion of free shipping was not added, although at checkout it said promo code applied. This transaction took me way too much time, and I will not use the website again.
I'm shocked at all the negative reviews, when I've had mainly good experiences with them. Maybe that's because I haven't returned the few items that didn't work for me, but I've bought several tops in pretty colors (I wash them in cold & NO dryer heat to avoid shrinking). I have several jackets, including corduroy in different jewel colors, so classy with business outfits, or jeans. Also bought jewel colored pullover sweaters, & a really classy raincoat. I avoid Foxcroft due to size problems, including arms, & I don't buy dresses from them. Maybe the problem is I don't return so I dint know about their customer service is like, but I've mainly helped build a bright, practical wardrobe as a repeat customer.
On my last two orders with Appleseed's, they have added additional charges to my account, that were not authorized, or approved. It only amounts to a few dollars, but no explanation to me regarding why this was done, or what they covered. My PayPal account paid them without my authorization. I will not be ordering again. Be careful!
I'm currently on the phone with Customer (non)Service after being on hold for almost 30 minutes. The (non)gentleman repeatedly interrupted me & spoke over me. After tolerating this behavior many times, I finally pointed out that I was speaking. He is now not responding. I'm still on the line! >5 minutes of the silent treatment & 3 unanswered requests to speak with his supervisor prompted me to write this review. Unbelievable & unprofessional behavior. What kind of personnel does this company hire?!
I placed an order to receive before Easter. I ordered a tunic and was sent a sweater. I returned the item and was asked if I wanted the correct merchandise sent. I received the package today and it was a pair of pants. Appleseed's shipping cost are high, but they can't even get your order correct. This was not the first time this has happened. I won't do business with them again.
I ordered three items on January 11. I received two of them on February 1 and the third one will not arrive until February 8. Although I like the quality of the two items so far, I will never order from this company again. I have ordered from Lands End, LL Bean, Amazon., Etsy, and a few others. Never have I Had to wait about a month for my things to reach me. I would warn anyone who has a time limit on some items to avoid Appleseeds by all means.
I placed a $364.00+ order on October 9,2023. I just called and it has not shipped. I don't think they care about their customers. They say they'll ship in 5 to 7 business days. Today is October 19,2023. The order I placed was order

I order everything. I'm shocked that Appleseed's advertised 10 days for standard shipping. No one takes that long to ship in stock items. The in stock shirt I ordered took four days to process. It is now in Georgia and expected delivery is six days later in Southern Ohio. Unheard of.
The '8-10 business days' warning is in regard to the time to have the order 'in process' which involves placing the item in the box and ordering a FedEx pickup. It's 9 days longer than an any online apparel company would logically need. Never again. It's a case of a small company not coping with the order volume and forcing their customer service folks to read from a script.
The descriptions of the items are inaccurate. It says 100% cotton and the item I recieved says 100% acrylic. One item was totally missing from my order and one item had two large holes. The customer service number says "press zero to speak to an operator" I pressed zero and it says goodbye and hangs up. DO NOT purchase on this website.
I have had more issues with Appleseed's than any other mail order company. They simply do not care about the customer's experience. More delays and errors on orders than I have ever experienced. Items are routinely missing or the incorrect item is sent. And when you call to get an issue resolved, they put all of the burden on the customer. Won't ship an exchange before they receive the wrong item back, no expedited shipping on the replacement or discount for your trouble or anything. My elderly mother likes to shop here or I wouldn't have put up with it as long as I have. In my experience, the customer service staff have been polite but they aren't empowered to do anything except apologize.
This translates as a defective item. Cigarette smell is impossible to get out of clothing. Their bad. Return of item and free return shipping requested. I would have been happy to keep the item because I liked it but it is impossible to wear.
I give one star only because I had to. They admitted proudly that shipping charge is based on the original cost of the items ordered not on clearance, and also not by weight. All round experience with their procedures and lack of customer service is appalling. Some items ordered were of poor quality and fit. When I attempted to return, there was a restock fee. Everything looks good on the models, not all are and they take no responsibility for cheap fabric at high prices and it becomes the consumers fault if you try to return so they charge you to do so. No company I order from online does this.
This company that has many complaints operates this way, they offer you a coupon and if you take it you are 'enrolled' in their VIP crap and will be charged monthly until you catch it on your card! I realized that happen to me for years without getting anything in return. I have been paying $14.97 for nothing in exchange.
I will contact my attorney also to see how this happen and how they keep that going for years without my approval. How about we get together and file a class action against the company.

The two T-shirts I purchased were a different length (21") than the 24" advertised, but when I asked about refund/return I was told I would have to pay a shipping fee $6.99 and/or restocking fee $9.50. Even though all the company had to do was measure their t-shirts to see that I was right, they just kept repeating to me their standard return policy. I emailed and phoned several times to try to get some satisfaction but no one could alter the standard return policy.
Answer: To my knowledge they have been associated with Blair and several other companies. Ive had great service with them ordering and reordering different sizes and getting a quick refund. I returned items on my own, not with their label and saved a couple dollars that way. Thank God I was lucky because all these reviews sound awful. I did get free shipping so returning one item out of three was $7, but since the dresses were on sale for $17 from $70 I cant complain. I got my return credit in a week. Ive tried to review my dresses, but cant figure out how after searching their website.
