As I was searching for information regarding this company I stumbled across the many negative experiences submitted by customers of said company. Please read my comment from an insiders view and if you have any additional comments please please leave. All comments are welcome.
They charge for a VIP service every month whether you order or not. The customer gets ripped off, especially older folks who don't understand what they're being billed for. Customer service is good at calming those with problems, saying they'll cancel the VIP service but next month you still get billed for it.
Don't buy from these vultures. They deserve to go out of business.
Rec'd wrong item and called immediately as i needed it for a certain date. Half hour wait for customer service and no one came on line. Tried ordering line and got someone immediately. However, i was 5 minutes past the fed ex express shipping deadline and they could not help me. Also, if i wrote rec'd wrong item on return label and there is not space for that! I might be able to avoid the return fee. Even a supervisor was unwilling to help.

My mother has bought her clothes her for years and now I am buying them for her. I find this company does not keep up with current trends of marketing. Their discounts and free shipping are misleading to me, yet alone a senior citizen and my mother. You can never get anyone to help on the customer service line. I have had to return 6 pairs of pants because I can not get anyone to help me with fit. I wish Appleseed's website was more user/customer service friendly... also, you need to IMPROVE the website as well!
Appleseed a company of Blair found a creative way to charge my credit card $14.97 a month for over a year for a VIP service I did not know I signed for. I was offered a one time discount when I bought clothes. This turned out to be a scam, and besides me, hundreds of others had the same experience of being charged $14.97 on their credit card for nothing. They have since cleaned up how they phrase their language after doing this to many others. Appleseed is a company of Blair.
I ordered a shirt jacket for $24.49. Paid $9.99 for shipping, so a total of $34.48. Didn't like the shirt, sent it back with the label provided. I understood that I would pay for shipping one way, but when I got my refund it was $14.50, which means I paid $19.98 to ship both ways, and I have no shirt besides. They have my $19.98 and the shirt. Called customer service and was told that is their policy. Nice. Posting this so others could beware. I am so accustomed to customer-friendly mail order company policies, that this seems way out of place in this time.
Ordered twice online and had HORRIBLE experiences in both cases. Customer Service is a joke-they could not care less. They tell you things are IN STOCK and then they back order one item, so you pay shipping twice. The photos appear much better than the actual quality of the clothing. If you email to request someone in Customer Service-you will receive a "canned response", often one that has nothing to do with your issue. If you call, you will be put on eternal hold. Once - shame on them, twice, shame on me. I have learned my lesson and will share this with everyone I can.
I purchased 2 nightgowns, & one's silk frayed after one washing. I called to get a replacement, which they agreed to. It cost me $13 to send it back on 2/21/18. I never heard from them again, & when I called today, 3/7/18 they said it was out of stock, and had issued a refund, which they had never called me. They did credit my account, but I resent that I was not notified. I'll never order from them again, as all my purchases in the past have taken so long to be delivered, and no email is issued to tell me when or if.
I returned an item using their label on April 8. When I called on May 3 to check on the refund I was told to give them another week. This is very poor service - would not order from them again based on this experience.
I bought a bateau neck t shirt for $34.95 wore it twice and it has a small hole in it. You would think you could get more wear out of it for that price. This was my first time ordering from you. I don't know if I'll order from you again. I'm very unhappy. Sincerely Patricia A Jensen
After ordering a pair of pants, I discovered an additional charge to my credit card for VIP services that I did not consciously request. I called and was told that I probably accidentally clicked on an ad on my computer. What sort of company charges for VIP services with only a click that was not even intended? The $14.97 monthly fee is small enough that many people probably pay it for years without noticing it. This is a very deceptive company. Beware.
This is the worst company I have ever ordered from. After waiting over 6 weeks for my order to arrive, it was incomplete. I tried to cancel the order after waiting 5 weeks, however, they told me there was nothing they could do to help me as it was ready to ship. When I got the order, the invoice stated I was charged for 4 items (only 3 were in the package). After calling customer service, I was told the item was cancelled and to check my credit card statement. Horrible company... I will never shop here again.
Customer service is NON EXISTENT.
Very prompt with confirmation of order. After that you might as well be talking to a caveman. Can't tell you where your order is... if it's been processed... when it will be shipped. If you decide to cancel... can't even tell you if it's been cancelled.
You get faster and better service from Auto Zone... next year I will order my mother's 93 birthday gift from there.
Worst. Experience. Ever. Shame on them. Their customer no-service is incredibly lousy, they insist coupon code will be applied after check-out, and then insist no one would ever tell me that and the only help they can offer (eagerly) is to cancel my order. They have no loyalty to their customers or to the websites (like amazon) that drive business to their site by advertising bogus coupon codes that were never intended to work; it should be noted that Tog Shop and Blair are the same store as Appleseeds... I dealt with their online chat service, their phone customer no-service and then sent an e-mail. All unsatisfactory and no resolution skills were evident anywhere, just canned drivel. They must have enough suckers placing orders to stay in business, but beats me how!
Horrible customer service! They never shipped an order I placed for a Christmas gift, saying it was due to the shipping and billing addresses not matching. They claimed to have sent an email asking me to confirm that they should proceed with shipping, but I never received one. They also claimed to have sent me a letter. I never received anything from them. I've had nothing but problems dealing with them in the past. Now my mother has no gift. I will never order from them again! I actually asked them to go ahead and ship the item that they were sitting on (even though they told me it would take up to 8 more business days). Instead of shipping it like I had asked, they cancelled the order. NEVER AGAIN!
My wife ordered 3 tops, was to large, reordered and those also didn't fit, so She returned the second order [did not reorder] and she paid the freight herself. After they refunded the two orders their charges for freight and the amount that she paid $9.90 = $31.52 that we were out and have nothing in our hands to show for all that money. I will never order or would not recommend anybody to order from this company. They owe us $9.99 refund for freight overcharge, come on BBB stop these companies from ripping people off.
Horrible site! I ordered a gift for my grandmother for christmas. Here it is almost March and it still has not arrived. Beware of their rewards program. I didn't even sign up for it yet I've been charged $14.95 per month until I realized this was happening. Customer service wouldn't even make the rewards charge right by taking it off my bill! Stay away from this company!
I ordered ked's shoes for my daughter as a gift. I ordered grey (which is specifically indicated on the invoice I received). They sent me stone. To send this pair of shoes back for their mistake, I will have to pay 9.99 (Lets be real, and call it $10!), even though it is their error! It clearly says they will deduct from my refund. I would exchange, but it is not actually an "exchange". What's to guarantee me that I will receive the right order next time? I tried calling-- just went in circles with voice messaging. This company is not consumer-friendly. First and last time I will ever order from them. Buyer beware.
Terrible customer service! Two minutes after I placed my order, i called them back to change something on my order. My order arrived with the wrong item. When i called them to complain, the manager acted very nasty, barely listened to my complain and claimed that she doesn't see evidence that i called them back to change my order. They also charged me more on an item advertised in their catalog claiming it was a different color, though it was the right color. I would advise anyone out there not to do business with a company that has such horrible service. I certainly will never order from them again!
I ordered two pairs of pants 25 days ago. I received one pair and the fit was very bad - big in the front, short in the back. I left an honest review about the poor fit. The review was never published - the only review is a glowing review. So dishonest! You can't initiate a return online, you have to fill out the return slip manually like 30 years ago. I called customer service about the second pair, waited on hold 40 minutes, and was told they will be sent out "soon." There was no indication when I bought them that they were on backorder. I won't be ordering from them again.
Answer: To my knowledge they have been associated with Blair and several other companies. Ive had great service with them ordering and reordering different sizes and getting a quick refund. I returned items on my own, not with their label and saved a couple dollars that way. Thank God I was lucky because all these reviews sound awful. I did get free shipping so returning one item out of three was $7, but since the dresses were on sale for $17 from $70 I cant complain. I got my return credit in a week. Ive tried to review my dresses, but cant figure out how after searching their website.
