It's easy to order but it's all downhill from there. Wait a month for backorder then they add another month because it's going to take longer. Ordered something else in its place only to see that now the first order did arrive when like it was supposed to but the second-order has been shipped. Tried to call and explain but never got to get a real person to talk with until I ended up being asked for my social security! I don't have an account with them but finally got transferred to the right place. Now I find that they charge to return. Back to Chico's!
Appleseed is truly a dishonest company. Appleseed was taking out money monthly on a supposed VIP account for years! I did not get the refund that had been bleeding my account for years. You took about swindlers!
I placed an order on Oct. 1. Apparently they had a system upgrade which caused them to hand write all orders. As of Oct. 5 the item still has not shipped. It might ship by Oct 8, a week after I placed the order. Apparently they mean it takes us 5-8 days to get your order out of our facility.
This item is for my 85 year old mother, who normally uses catalogs. This really is a company for octogenarians.
First, they double billed me. When I called because that sent my bank account into overdraft, they told me I shouldn't have a problem with it because the money would be returned to my account within 3 days and if I had a problem I could take it up with my bank (all major banks process payments the same, so it is NOT my bank's issue; and Appleseed's admitted they sent 2 charges through for the same order). Then, I get a very condescending call the next day from a lady who tells me I don't seem to understand how credit card payments work (I do. I worked for years in financial services). Finally, the shipment arrives and both items are the wrong size. I'm not even sure I want to return them because they customer service people are the rudest I have ever talked to in my entire life. I wish I'd never heard of this company!
My sister gave me some clothes for Christmas and I wanted to exchange them for a difference size. She sent me all the paperwork and said it should be easy. Appleseed refused to ship the new items to me. They will only ship them to my sister and then she will have to ship the items back to me. Very inconvenient - even if she called to place the order - and then had them shipped they will not do it. Plus they want to charge $9.99 for the return and probably shipping on the new item. Terrible customer service. I guess we will take our $116.96 to another internet clothier. You would think Appleseed would have better customer service in this competitive age of internet shopping - very POOR.
Like most of you, at the end of a guest checkout I signed up for a future discount coupon and thought it was to log my purchase under my name. Immediatley after doing so, I went back to read more and it seems they are going to bill me $1.99 for this and then $14.99 per month! I have never even purchased from this company, and just purchased because they now have a few pieces from wintersilks. Upon further investigation, it seems that Wintersilks was running this same scam. I immediately (within 5 min) tried to call them and they hung up on me 3 times. They are not available on weekends, I found after choosing a few more options. I am really mad. Someone like my Mom would do this and be billed indefinitely and not know it or how to stop it.
Do not get sucked in by Appleseeds' so-called "sales". This company charges a fortune for shipping, requires the buyer to cover the cost of return shipping and pays no attention to sizing. The size 32 skirt I ordered had a 35 inch waist — three inches off! I paid $20 for shipping and have nothing to show for it. This company is a dinosaur that can't go extinct fast enough.
Return policy can become up to 2/3's of the cost of an item and the quality and pictures in the catalogue are touched up---I ordered a blue it cam in black and poor quality--I had to pay for shipping twice--a total rip off!
They are a "zero" rating. They charged me $29.00+ late fee even though I mail my check 4 days prior to the deadline. I called customer service to complain, only to be told there is a $9.00 charge to speak with a rep.
I tried to order an item already reduced and with a promo code that should have given me a further reduction. When they added on the postage, it was almost the same price as the original reduced price.
Postage, then was 25% of the cost of the item!
I like their products, but processing is extremely slow and P&H much too high.
I try to stay away from Appleseeds for these reasons
I received a gift purchased from Appleseed's. It was something I really did not need, so I was going to exchange it for another item. I had two questions, #1: Would the giver know I exchanged the item, and #2: If my purchase came to more than the cost of the original item, why was there no place on the form for me to enter MY credit card information? Answer: Yes, she would know any way I handled this, which is totally unacceptable to me. The buyer was a very elderly relative, and I do not wish to hurt her feelings. For me to be charged the difference, I would have to treat this as two transactions, and again, the buyer would be notified.
I have ordered winter silks products for decades. I got a full silk slip for Christmas(2018) And imagine my surprise it barely fit. HAve a previous one and it fits fine. I should have known. Blair bought Winter Silks. Products will become junk now. Now you can't even buy the slips. Class and quality out the door. HAve bought From Pueblo Traders and Appleseeds. Som good some poor. Norm thompson used to be good. What happened to our anti-tryst laws?
Have ordered clothing from Appleseeds four or five times. Good quality and reasonably priced. I have e-mailed customer service twice with question and item cancellation. Both times they were very responsive and no problems. Their website and promotional code system is much improved. I had noticed glitches in it the first couple of times in the site, but have had no trouble lately. Would recommend Appleseed's.
I ordered a top for $21.99. Paid shipping charges of $9.99 for a total of $31.98. Returned the top immediately when I realized it was not a good color for me. Got a $12.00 credit on my credit card. So doing business with the Tog Shop, with nothing to show for it, cost me $19.98. Good profit for them, but bad business in the long run. I do not wish them well.
Placed an order and Appleseed's put the wrong area code on my shipment... Never got my package and they are not refunding my money because they haven't gotten the shipment back. O by the way, I get all their catalogs just fine... What a joke this company is.
I am going on cruise in a few weeks and from the pictures of clothing on website I was excited to order a few pieces that I thought would look great. I also purchased enough items (over $100) to qualify for free shipping. When I got the clothing, nothing fit correctly & everything was a far cry from the photos. I returned everything as new with tags & used their what I assumed was their free return label but was told after receiving that they would charge for using their label $9.99 What a joke! I will never buy anything from Appleseeds/Blair again. Beware shoppers. Their clothing is not sized nor made correctly. I wished I had read the reviews before buying. I felt conned.
I like some of their clothing, but I recently purchased a couple of skirts and carefully read the descriptions; length was important to me. The skirts were 5 inches longer than advertised (that's a lot!), so I returned them, and I explained this to them by email and by note in with the return. I do find their credits on returns to be very slow, but in this case, I asked them to refund the cost of mailing the return since the item was misrepresented. They completely ignored my email and note. I was going to call, but decided to just stop using the site. Not worth it! After reading the other reviews here, I feel I was pretty lucky!
Website inventory does not match what is REALLY in stock! I ordered a coat that was available in multiple colors and sizes. I even applied for the Appleseed's credit card to get an additional 15% off! That means supplying personal information! I was approved for the credit and proceeded to use the promo code to get my discount... and it was invalid. I contacted online chat who told me to call customer service after I placed my order and they would give me the discount over the phone. To my shock, the young man on the phone said the item I ordered was not in stock and would not be reordered. So I am out of luck and I gave my personal information for nothing. Not happy. I always liked Appleseed's until now. I wasted an hour of my time for nothing!
I recently ordered a pair of women's pants from Appleseed's in size 18. They sent me the item in size 10. I returned the item checking the appropriate code for their mistake, They deducted the return shipping ($9.99) from my refund, although they had shipped me the wrong item. I called customer service and with great difficulty reached a human being, called Becky. After checking supposedly with the returns department. She said that Appleseed's had determined that they were not at fault. After arguing back and forth, with Becky just repeating the same sentence over and over, I told her that they had lost a long-time customer. I urge everyone not to buy from Appleseed's. They do not honor their mistakes.
Be careful. When you place an order online, you will be charged a monthly fee of $14.95 a month unbeknownst to you. This is recurring and goes on until it is discovered. Then it is almost impossible to cancel. I was disconnected from the *******961 number several times in a row. When I called customer service, the woman hung up on me when I asked to speak to a supervisor after she was not helpful. I had to change my credit card number and order a new Visa Card in order to stop this charge. I will not shop here again and will continue to try get a refund.
Answer: To my knowledge they have been associated with Blair and several other companies. Ive had great service with them ordering and reordering different sizes and getting a quick refund. I returned items on my own, not with their label and saved a couple dollars that way. Thank God I was lucky because all these reviews sound awful. I did get free shipping so returning one item out of three was $7, but since the dresses were on sale for $17 from $70 I cant complain. I got my return credit in a week. Ive tried to review my dresses, but cant figure out how after searching their website.
