Received a bill from them for the items I purchased from another company. Don't know how they got that. The items pictured were the very same as those I purchased from the other company, so they must have hacked in to get them. This is not a good deal - be careful. Indeed, stay away!
I would like to recommend to everyone this professional and reliable online shopping site. When you drop in to this site, you can get a variety of hot selling and good quality clothing and products, good communication and customer service. My overall experience with Appleseed is astonishingly reliable and great. I would rely on it in the future.
I was about to order a couple of clothing items (both under $175), but then I noticed that they had added MA sales tax, even though clothing items under $175 are exempt. I cancelled my order, and sent an email to customer service about this error. Got a reply two days later saying it was because they have stores in MA, completely ignoring the clothing exemption issue. Called Customer Service and got a run-around. Since they have two stores in MA, it's difficult to believe they don't know about the clothing exemption, so this smells like fraud. Don't buy clothing from this site if you live in MA.
I just found out that Appleseeds has been charging my credit card for over a year for $14 for some kind of loyalty program which I NEVER signed up for. Also, there clothing is of very poor quality. Don't order from this company unless you like poor quality products.
This is a high-risk company. Avoid them. Their clothing is sometimes two sizes larger than listed on their site and even as labeled on the clothing. Their "size guide" is useless, since they state what the correct size SHOULD be, but they ship items that do not conform, other than being labeled as though they are the right size. If you were in their store, you would have to try on all sizes of an item to find one that actually fits. Unfortunately, doing this over the internet is impossible and Appleseed's will ALWAYS deduct outbound and inbound shipping costs with EVERY return - even though they are responsible for selling mislabeled products. This means that you cannot return any items without losing about 35% of your money.
This is a horrible company. They scammed my 90 year old mother into joining some discount plan that costs $14.95 per month. Then with the cooperation of their credit bank (Comenity) they billed and started adding high late charges on top of the $14.95. I have called three times and my mother has called once. They continue to call us looking for their money that they will never get after I cancelled everything 4 months ago.
Please do not give them your business.
Ordered online because item noted as being "in stock". After receiving zero shipping updates I called customer service to cancel order. After putting you on 25 solid minutes of an annoying recording telling you to shop their site online (hysterical) I finally got through to a sullen and sour woman who put me on hold again and informed me that SURPRISE- it's too late to cancel because "my order is already on the truck" whatever that means. What are the odds I won't see their crapo you clothes delivered for another month. Ugh prices for crapo u clothes and Zero customer service. Will arrive far too late to be presented as gift to relative as was hoped. Do not list an item as being available/in-stock and then sit on the order for weeks you ignorant people! Nordstroms next time.
I only gave my order one star because Appleseed's wouldn't accept No Stars. Reason for this: I received three tops that are totally unsatisfactory - one has a flaw right in the front under the neckline - impossible not to notice by anybody who packed it. The others are also huge disappointments for various reasons. I will not return any of them because of the shipping charge for returning them which only adds to my expense for these poor quality shirts. So they are going to a local thrift shop - God forgive me for pawning them off on to somebody else. If there were a Minus ANY Stars to click, I would do that.

My mom lives in an assisted living facility. She has ordered from Appleseeds catalog for years. She has too many clothes, though, so I tried to take her off of Appleseeds mailing list. Fat chance. Those catalogues came for another 18 months, with repeated calls from me trying to get mom off of their list. I even wrote them a letter telling them that mom really wasn't capable of making fiscal decisions and taking orders from her would be exploiting an elderly woman with advanced dementia. So when they sent the next catalog and mom ordered (yet another) cardigan, I simply didn't pay for it. They called a few times, but mom sort of likes getting phone calls and would just try to chat with the collector. Now, they finally have her off the mailing list. Problem solved.
Received a Florentina matelasse coverlet today. Has two rips or cuts in it. Rather than go through the hassle of returning it and possibly getting another defective coverlet, I simply mended it. So now I have a new, 80 dollar bedspread with two darned areas. Won't order from them again.
I have bought clothes from Appleseeds for years. I also used to buy from Coldwater Creek until they were no longer in business. Appleseeds' are good clothes at reasonable prices. I don't always like everything I get but there has been no problem returning. I just received a Balmacaan coat and it is lovely, great color, navy and size large. Also I have trouble with updating my computer and so order by phone and always receive the 'percent off' price with the code.
Ordered an item and found shipping costs excessive, especially because several catalogs were included in the package which added to the weight. An insert in the same package said that I could get a $15.00 refund on shipping. I looked at it online, realized that it was selling some service that I didn't want and didn't click any further. Due to a subsequent family tragedy, I didn't monitor my next few credit cards carefully so I didn't realize that I was being charged $14.95 a month for that same service. Will never shop from Appleseeds again. Amazed and disgusted. Thought it was a fine old ethical New England company.
You charge a lot for shipping but use the cheap method of having UPS take the package to the Post Office for final delivery. My item was never delivered and online tracking confirms that it was not delivered. The Post Office staff just shrugs and says to file a claim.
You tell customers to call back for a refund in 30 days hoping we will forget. I won't forget, but I will NEVER order from Appleseed's again.
I ordered 3 items (tee shirts) from Appleseeds for 66.00 and change. I returned them as I did not like the quality within 60 days as is their policy and used their pre-paid label which resulted in a 9.99 charge against refund OK understood. But when amex posted the return amount it was only for 43.00 and change. So they charged me 23.00 and change to return goods (not one item even cost this much) absolutely a ripoff and unethical business practices. Additionally they charged me 1.97 and 14.97 as recurring charges for a VIP program I did not authorize. Amex would not help as they said it was recurring charges but could produce no signature for it. After calling Appleseeds they finally refunded VIP charges but no such luck on returned merchandise. Will never buy anything from them again and I would recommend that if you do buy from them be aware of their unethical business practices.
If I could have entered zero stars, I would have. Bought one item on line, discovered $14.95 per month subscription charges I never ordered. Called Appleseeds, and was told I had clicked on box for it. Box was for notices of sales. Took bringing MasterCard rep on to call for them to remove past charges and stop future charges. (Thanks MC for fixing this!)
My order was for two tops. They did not fit so I sent them back and ordered something different. I paid $45.37 including shipping and handling. Then there was a return fee. Of my $45.37 I got a refund of $22.39. So I paid $22.98 for NOTHING.
I am very disappointed at the way Appleseeds rips off online customers. I will not be shopping there again.
I do most of my shopping online and this is one of my favorite places. I've bought at least 20 items from them. I had no problems whatsoever in returning the few that didn't fit. And I wasn't charged for the returns.
The only thing I don't like is the high cost of shipping them to me.
Appleseed's sent me a battered raincoat that I couldn't put my arm throught. It seemed like the right sleeve was sewn shut, making it impossible to put the coat on. When I contacted them about their faulty product and requested a refund, They insisted that I pay for the shipping fee instead of giving me a full refund. This product is unwearable and an oversight on their part. They cannot sell these types of products and make customers to pay for their mistakes. This just proves their customer service is horrible.Don't order from here, unless you want to pay for incompetence.
I ordered 3 garments because they promised a discount on your FIRST order as a
New customer. Could not get any of the codes to work in order
To get the discount. Customer service not helpful.
I ordered anyway hoping discount would be automatic. It wasn't. Had free shipping. They tried to add
A small shipping charge anyway. I backed out and started over. Package arrived 2 days before another
Catalog arrived advertising the expensive jacket at a discount! Quilted jackets are usually soft. This one
Is thin and stiff. I will not order from them again because quality and discounts aren't reliable.

I have purchased from Appleseed's stores, catalog, and their affiliates for many years and had issues in the past but this last one is unforgivable. As has been my practice, I returned several catalog purchases to one of the Appleseed's stores. The items were from the same order but arrived at different times, so I had several receipts. The clerk accepted the items, marked each receipt for the returned items and told me the items would go out "when the bin is full." When I was finally credited for the returns, the credit amount was less than the value of the returned items. When I called for an explanation, I was told that there were 3 mailing charges, each $9.99. Had I known there would be a charge, I would have placed all the items in one bag and mailed them for a total of $9.99 but I was never told about a mailing charge. No amount of explanation about how I returned the items, never having used a mailing label, changed the situation. The charges remain.
Answer: To my knowledge they have been associated with Blair and several other companies. Ive had great service with them ordering and reordering different sizes and getting a quick refund. I returned items on my own, not with their label and saved a couple dollars that way. Thank God I was lucky because all these reviews sound awful. I did get free shipping so returning one item out of three was $7, but since the dresses were on sale for $17 from $70 I cant complain. I got my return credit in a week. Ive tried to review my dresses, but cant figure out how after searching their website.
