I ordered $350 worth of jackets from Appleseeds online. I saw the day after I received the jackets in the mail that each of the jackets had been further discounted online by around $20 each. Appleseeds refused to make a price adjustment. More than that, customer service staff were blunt and uncaring in their response to my request.
Their clothing is NOT true to size. An item I purchased was marked as size 18 and it just barely fit a friend who's a size 12. It is almost impossible to get a person in Customer Service. Their phone menu leads you down many different rabbit holes, many times to a dead end. When I finally reached Customer Service, I was told that when I ship back the item, I wasn't going to be charged the cost of the return postage because the defect was on their part. When my credit card bill arrived, I saw that I was charged the $9.99 cost for the return shipping. I called going through another phone menu maize and was told that I would be reimbursed. The following month my credit card bill arrived and I was not reimbursed. I just got off the phone with Customer Service and was told that they were not going to reimburse me because I ordered size 18 and they sent me size 18. They have a very bad return and Customer Service policy.
I ordered online from Appleseed's website. I had a coupon for free shipping. I placed two orders with a free shipping code. When I got the order, the size was wrong. They sent a S/M and I ordered L/XL. I called and said, "these say L/XL, but the label must be wrong. These are S/M. So the rep. Said send it back and they will waive shipping,. So I sent the orders back. Guess what? Not only did they charge 9.99 each for shipping it back, they also did NOT honor the free shipping code when I placed my order. So I called and complained about all the charges. They said, "we decided that since the orders were on sale, we charged you shipping. And the items looked fine to us. The label said L/XL and that's what you ordered." I said, "but the label is wrong!" They said, "well, there's nothing we can do." So my shipping charges all together from them totaled $44.00 with NO merchandise to show for it. I REFUSE to pay for it. This company needs to be banned. They need to be closed down.
I saw one review that had 5 stars. That had to be from an owner of the company. I ordered in June, paid for shipping with the order.and got 4 packages which included most of the order. When I called asking about the remainder of order, I was told the other items were "back ordered" which I canceled. The result of the order: I returned 3 items that were sized incorrectly and they were going to charge me $9 for return postage. I did get them to forgive the return postage "as a one time courtesy". I have yet to see the refund on my credit card. DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM!
I like the clothing at Appleseeds a lot but their returns/customer service are terrible. Twice I have been told that they did not receive a return that I sent and I have been out that money. Today I called to ask about a return I sent. I gave them my acct. # and home address but did not want to give the last 4 digits of my social security number. The agent (Osmar) said I should since he had the entire number in front of him! What does a customer service rep have access to my soc. Sec. Number? When I asked to speak to his supervisor he said that he didn't know how long that would take--implying he'd put me on hold for a long time. 31 minutes later, I hung up. Score one for Osmar. I've had numerous billing problems that take hours to straighten out. I'm convinced they are not an accident. Dealing with them is like dealing with a loan shark--no thank you!
I was told to pay $10.00 extra for 2-day shipping. Important to me because I bought the things for a trip I am going on. My order went in Feb 1. It left the Appleseeds site in Mass. Only on Feb 3, arrived at FEDEX in Garden City, NY
Only on Feb 5 (days after I should have received it). If it is not delivered to me by Feb 7, I cannot even return it before March, because I will be out of the country!
Where to begin? Items are on back-order for months and when they finally arrive you find the garments are poorly made out of cheap fabric. If you want to return something you have to pay return shipping costs.
They charge your credit card immediately for the entire order not just for what is shipped. They tell you on their website that if you return something it could take a couple of billing cycles to see a credit on your statement.
I usually always check reviews before buying from an online company but I thought the clothes looked so cute in the brochure that I received in the mail. I WON'T MAKE THAT MISTAKE AGAIN.
Normally I don't do reviews but I ordered a coat before I read the reviews. There were so many bad reviews I was very nervous. If I would have read them first I would have never ordered my coat. I am so glad I didn't because I LOVE MY COAT! I received it 3 days after I ordered it. Fit perfectly. Very classy look! So happy I didn't read the bad reviews first. My husband said don't worry usually only people who are not satisfied write reviews so I'm very satisfied and I wanted everyone to know.
I ordered two blazers and they didn't fit so I returned them with the return shipping
Label included in order, they charged me $27.98 to return them; I will never order from Blair, appleseeds again. The amount charge to return was way to high
I discovered that a jacket on sale in the catalog -in 5 colors- was on sale for $99.00. On the internet store, only 4 colors of the jackets were on sale for $109.00 and the 5th. Color was not on sale but at the regular price of $124.00. I called Customer Service and was told that the only way to get catalog sale price was to mail or call in the order. And, that Appleseeds does not have uniform pricing between catalog and internet. Both venues for selling may run individual promotions. But the venues do not honor each others promotions. Customer has to find the best deal and play the game. Sounds like a new twist on "bait and switch" to me.
Appleseeds VIP Plus *******333*MA $14.97. This money is taken out of my bank acct.(TD bank) every month and I want this to stop immediately. May 18,2020. Please send me a response to this e-mail.

I had items in my cart and decided to check reviews. (I got smart this time) I removed the items and am not shopping until Appleseesds cleans up their act and I at least see 3 stars, you would think that with sooo many bad reviews they would listen. Hmmmm.
This morning I received an E-mail from Appleseeds requesting that I participate in a survey -- and if I did -- I would receive $25.00 off my next order. I took the survey and received a code with an expiration date of April 15. I decided to order a couple of items -- but when I entered the code it said it was invalid. I called Appleseeds and was told that I should go ahead and place my order for the full amount -- then call their customer service and they would adjust the order by $25.00. I couldn't even believe that they said this. I told the rep that this made absolutely no common sense. He agreed but said that this was what he was told to say. Oh -- okay -- I'm going to go ahead and place an order at full price, then get on the phone to their customer service with the hope that they will adjust my order --- I don't think so. I'm fuming and will not order from this company again.
I love, love, love Appleseeds. I have been a customer for many years through their catalog, and now through their website. The quality of their clothes is wonderful, compared to some places I have shopped. I recently ordered a dress that was larger than I expected, and the return was very easy. I had a mailing label in my order, and just used that for the return. Simple.
I followed their rules to the letter, mailing in person at USPS outside JAX, FL. That was 5/19/20. Pkg has been to York, PA, headed for Warren, PA. But then, it came back to JAX, and went to Indiana, where it might be on its way to Warren, PA. It has been in transit for a week, using their pre-paid (!) label. If you ever return something, amil yourself. Better, never order anything. They are in bankruptcy (I didn't know).
When you try to return one of Appleseeds chintzy "wool" blazers they hold your payments for several weeks without a refund. Stay away from these cheats.
Going on a month since I ordered new spring clothes for my 93 year old mother in a senior home. I have called several times and keep getting the same response..."YOUR ORDER IS BEING PROCESSED." In this day and age a retailer cannot take a month to send orders. I have way too many options. I'll never order from Appleseed's again.
SCAM ALERT: Beware of clicking on the "Free Shipping" link when purchasing clothes online from Appleseed's catalog... When I bought a lovely winter coat in November, I unknowingly signed up for "Appleseed's VIP Plus". An extra $14.97 MONTHLY charge was hidden with a discount on my order. So duplicitous! I was charged for several months before I caught it. When I called *******333 to cancel, I was told only one month could be reimbursed. When I told the phone rep that this is a reprehensible practice, and that reputable companies like Lands End, Coldwater Creek, Kohl's & Famous Footwear offer free shipping without strings, the phone rep reimbursed 2 months of fees. If you buy anything from one of their companies: Appleseed's, Linensource, the Tog Shop or others,, be very careful...
I rarely write a bad review about anyone; I am more likely to write about how great someone is; but I feel that I really need to warn others so what happened to me doesn't happen to others. I frequently shop online and like others - it's hard to get the website to work correctly and their "promotions". They will post a lot, but when I couldn't get them to work; I checked out anyway and tried to get the customer service to apply the promotion after the fact. I contacted them via e-mail so the correspondance would be date and time stamped; but they didn't get back to me until the promotion had expired and after a few e-mails. This is the first and only time that I will do business with them - WARNING to others; this site lacks serious ethics.
By far the absolute sorriest outfit ever. Do not, Do not order from Appleseed! Ordered May 12,2021. I paid $13.00 to have item shipped for a total of $90.00 for a dress for my Mom. I contacted them 10 days later on the 23rd and they told me they were moving, and i contacted them after another week and they told me it would be 2 more days. I waited another 10 days and called again. When I told them I wanted to cancel they put me on hold and never returned, called back and now I cannot hear them and they hung up, two more times this went on and on where they pretended the phone was disconnecting and I called again and this time they said they could not cancel. They just keep putting me off over and over. They will not cancel and I cannot cancel online.
Answer: To my knowledge they have been associated with Blair and several other companies. Ive had great service with them ordering and reordering different sizes and getting a quick refund. I returned items on my own, not with their label and saved a couple dollars that way. Thank God I was lucky because all these reviews sound awful. I did get free shipping so returning one item out of three was $7, but since the dresses were on sale for $17 from $70 I cant complain. I got my return credit in a week. Ive tried to review my dresses, but cant figure out how after searching their website.
