I bought a sweater (P-L) for my mom and it arrived being size (P-XL). She is in an Assisted Living Home and during this cornoavirus outbreak I asked Appleseeds to simply just send her the correct size. My order was verified that I had ordered the correct size in the first place. They said she could send it back and I would get a refund or they would send the correct size when they received the garment back. I said she is unable to orchestrate going to the post office herself or even wrapping it up and giving it to staff who would be willing to do that. And why would they want a garment possibly contaminated with the coronavirus on it in the first place? With all the companies and people going out of their way to be generous and altruistic on their own in the country, this company demonstrated a lack of common sense or more importantly the integrity to do the right thing to correct THEIR error. I will never buy anything from them again!
I made a large order to Appleseed women's clothing from the online store. I was disappointed at the exorbitant charge for shipping (21.99USD) and the package arrived on the 11th day. This was the last possible day for the company to comply with the 8 business day window. I complained, and received a 5USD coupon that could NOT be used online! Then, the items came and had a very odd chemical smell so I requested a free of charge return label. The customer service rep stated that there was nothing wrong with the merchandise so they could not send me a credit for the return. I do a lot of shopping online and I have never had such a bad experience. Beware of buying from Appleseed.
I am very upset with Appleseeds. The last time I purchased an item, I was encouraged to enroll in a travel program they were offering. I agreed to look at the program and was assured I could cancel. I then received a mailing offering me a cash-back shipping rebate on my Appleseed's purchase. I called and canceled this program, believing I was canceling the Appleseeds program. No. Appleseeds had given my information to another program, and has been charging me $14.95 a month since October. Beware!
This company used to be Norm Thompson who was wonderful. No longer. I ordered a dress that did not fir correctly. I returned it the same day I received it using their $10 return label to assure return delivery. I was only given a 50% credit on the purchase and also charged a $27 late fee because of course I did not pay for what I returned, and another $2 MINIMUM INTEREST CHARGE. When I called customer service, the person answering was not authorized to issue any credits. So I was transferred to a supervisor for whom I am still waiting to speak. HORRIBLE COMPANY. So sad Norm Thompson is gone.
Oh my goodness, I just spent over 38 minutes trying to place an order. They do not let you use two promo codes, so although I was going to spend over $300 on sweaters, they were going to charge $22 for shipping? Really? The woman who helped me just did not understand what I was saying. FINALLY, when she agreed to waive shipping and I had my 11 sweaters all ready to be ordered, she was not able to honor the 30% coupon code that worked when the sweaters were IN my shopping cart because "those coupons are just for online orders." So basically, if I order ON the phone with her, she can give me free shipping, but discount only ONE sweater, but if I order online, I can save 30% on all my sweaters, but pay $22 for shipping. WHO PAYS FOR SHIPPING THESE DAYS? ESPECIALLY WHEN A CUSTOMER IS SPENDING OVER $300? WHAT A WASTE OF TIME! Ugh, wish I read these reviews before I even got on the phone with them.
I had ordered the top to go with a sweater my grand-daughters had given me for my birthday in early January. The top I ordered was back ordered but never came back in stock. I ordered a different top on March 30, it was back ordered too but it was shipped from New Jersey on April 23rd. It was in the Denver metro area on May 1st, it was then shipped to Montana and then back to Denver. I didn't receive it until Friday May 7th. It took two weeks to get to me once it was shipped. Don't order anything from Appleseeds if you want it for a special occasion, it won't be there in time. It's now May and warmer weather so I won't be wearing the top and sweater until next fall. Very Disappointed:-(
I ordered three (3) items from Appleseed's. Three items arrived however only ONE was what I ordered. Two items were from BLAIR (don't know how that happens)! Called Customer Service was given instructions for return. Had to write a letter explaining everything and enclosed the two wrong items. Gave Appleseed's over a week to contact me as to the status of the return and completion of my order with the TWO items I did not receive but PAID FOR. My call today resulted in a recording telling me that returns take 4-6 weeks! What? DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
I ordered a khaki jacket. It took almost a month to deliver. When I checked my tracking, it was delivered in UPS locker, but I don't have access to a locker. I called Jackie W., from customer service and she confirmed that it was delivered in a locker at UPS. She can't even tell me which UPS. Then she asked me if I looked around to find the package outside my house. I told her that she just agreed with me that it was at UPS locker. Then, she told me it will take 3 business days to investigate the situation, then they will replace if necessary. I asked to cancel the order and I was not allowed to do so. What kind of service is this! She changed her story that it can be delivered at my house, even it is documented that it is at UPS. NEVER ORDERING IN THIS SITE AGAIN! JUST HORRIBLE
I normally do not submit negative reviews. But I want to see if my experience is just my karma catching up or if it is a systemic problem with the website.
I placed an order on their website at the beginning of Jan. After the initial order confirmation, I didn't hear from them for 2 weeks (the order status showed as in progress). I finally called them and they said they placed the order 'on hold' to verify my mailing address. No calls, no emails, but they sent me a postcard which I received a few days later. A few more weeks later, I finally got the package, but it was missing 3 of 5 items I had ordered! The shipment summary however said everything was shipped. I called their customer service and the woman who answered was very abrupt and seemed not to know how to find information about my order. She got all the information on my order wrong and then suggested I wait for a few days and then call back. I was still asking for information when she hung up on me! I was so angry that I called back and this time I got a better representative who promised the missing items would be shipped to me and that they will refund and then charge again. To top it all, the quality of the items I got was not that great either. The only reason I gave a 2 is for that one guy who seemed to care.
I have ordered several times from this company, gone through hoops to finally get the products, patiently listening to the pitches for their credit cards and extra 15% off on one more item, etc.etc., I get to the end of the harangue and nicely say no, get the total, order number and, "POOF", mysteriously my order won't go through. I have a $10,000 credit limit on my Mastercard which is paid off and there is NOTHING wrong with my card. This is NONSENSE they pull to get customers to cave in and take their credit card! DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY.
Clothing is sewn more carefully (eg stripes match at sides, seams are sewn well) from higher quality materials. Prices are commensurate with quality.
Will never buy from them or related companies again. No place to contact or unsubscribe to their emails. This is not legal, all emails are required to offer a way to opt out on there email. They dont
I placed an order, asked for expedited shipping. I learned through Paypal the order didn't go through. I didnt understand why, the Money is there. I called and spoke to a pleasant enough man named Brandon. However he didn't know either and he said HE WOULD CALL ME BACK to let me know why. I told him I placed an order for expedited shipping since I needed items by Friday. Guess what, no call back and they lost a $30 sale. I now need to find clothes for the trip I am taking. STAY AWAY FROM THEM! Any business who makes it that hard to spend your money with them, they aren't worth giving your money too.
I joined the VIP program about a year ago and I love it! I hardly ever bother writing reviews, but I was very surprised to see that some people were dissatisfied with their experience. I have spent about $165 for membership fees and have earned about a thousand dollars in gift cards. I don't even bother to shop in malls anymore. I have bought several jackets, sweaters, tops, dresses and skirts. Most everything was bought with my gift cards. Typically, I buy things that are on sale to begin with. Then I get a 10% discount and rebates back for shipping costs. A small proportion of the items I have ordered have either not fit or didn't appeal to me when I tried them on. I sent them back, got my shipping refunded by filling out an online rebate form (simple) and received a letter with a rebate code that I used just like a gift card. I highly recommend using this program and hope they never stop providing it. I usually end up canceling these "trial period" offers, so I was expecting to only let it run one month-then cancel it. I was very pleasantly surprised at how much I benefitted by joining!
If you ever order from this company, you'll never be able to stop their catalogs. I've been requesting this for four months. (Same with their other catalog "The Tog Shop.")
I ordered a dress March 9th and have not received it. Today is April 23rd.
They have mailed a fresh new catalog to my home.

Yes, be careful ladies... somehow, last April they started charging me, first $1.99 for April and then I was charged every month on my credit card $14.97. I see no evidence that I even placed an order in March or April. Somehow when you fill out your order online you automatically get signed up for the VIP Plus. I think I may have filled out the form and then not placed the order, I do that sometimes when I change my mind when I see how much the tax and shipping is going to be. Why would you pay $180 a year for the honor of shopping from their catalog. I admit wasn't watching my credit card bill to close which was bad on my part, but I travel a lot. The lady I called at Appleseed's to stop this madness was very matter of fact and very slick. When I said I want my money back, she said she can give me the last 4 months... so they have stolen 181.63 and they are refunding me $59.88. They know what they are doing and they are probably making tons of money off this little fraud. Beachbody does it too and there are probably others. Sad world we live in!
In December my wife placed an order with this scam web site. A pop-up then offered her $15.00 off her next order by clicking. When she clicked, it asked for her e-mail address. Now they are billing her $14.95 per month for what they call VIP Plus which she never knowingly agreed to. Note that:

I ordered a dress for an upcoming wedding that when I received it it was too large, so I sent it back and placed a new order over the phone that same day. I was told it would take 3 business days to ship, then 5-8 business days to arrive. When I look online at my order status it say "in process". I have emailed and called customer service several times in the past 11 days and have been told the same thing, 3 days to process and 5-8 days to receive. I spoke with a customer service rep 3 days ago who said there was "a problem" but she could not tell me what it was, and now we are back at "day 1" and the item was "on the truck". Today when I check the order status it tells me the item is temporarily out of stock! I am very disappointed and will NEVER ORDER FROM APPLESEEDS AGAIN!

I HAD TO ORDER FROM THEIR OVERSEEAS FOREIGN VENDORS, I BOUGHT A SMALL ITEM AND THEY COMPROMISED MY CREDIT CARD AND ADDED WITH OUT MY ORDERING THEM OR ANYTHING ELSE, 4 DENIM JACKETS AT $69.98 EACH ON MY CREDIT CARD! I REPORTED THIS TO MY CREDIT CARD "FRAUD DEVISION" AND THEY SENT ME A DISCLAMIER WHERE THEY ARE GOING TO INVESTIGATE "APPLESEEDS" THEY SAID MY CREDIT HAD BEEN COMPROMISED AND WERE SENDING ME A NEW CREDIT CARD. I COULD GO INTO MORE DETAILS BUT I'LL CLOSE SAYING, THAT I CAN NOT UNSUBSCRIBE FROM GETTING EMAILS FROM "APPLESEEDS", I HAVE TRIED AND TRIED BUT I JUST CAN"T GET RID OF GETTING EMAILS FROM THEM! THEY ARE SCAMERS, "APPLESEEDS" NEEDS TO BE CLOSED UP!
Answer: To my knowledge they have been associated with Blair and several other companies. Ive had great service with them ordering and reordering different sizes and getting a quick refund. I returned items on my own, not with their label and saved a couple dollars that way. Thank God I was lucky because all these reviews sound awful. I did get free shipping so returning one item out of three was $7, but since the dresses were on sale for $17 from $70 I cant complain. I got my return credit in a week. Ive tried to review my dresses, but cant figure out how after searching their website.
