I ordered 2 items. One was a funnel neck described as "white" but was clearly "ivory". When I called Customer Service I was told I would not have to pay the return shipping fee as it was "not as described" and was told how to facilitate this using a code to this effect. I followed her instructions implicitly. When my credit came through they had in fact charged me for the return fee which I thought was a mistake. Silly me! This Customer Service lady told me that I would NOT be able to be reimbursed for the return shipping, even though I had been told I would originally. I asked to speak to the manager. The Cust. Ser. Mgr., a Mrs. Baker, reiterated that no, I would not be reimbursed for the return shipping because the returns dept. deemed that it was the color I ordered. Apparently if you order white and it is actually ivory (which are 2 different colors!) it's your tough luck! My mistake here was NOT reading their reviews first! Will never order from them again and I'm getting ready to write a letter to their headquarters!
Same experience as others. Sent the wrong items and said I had to pay for returns. I also paid the shipping on other returns rather than use their label ( and get charged per item shipping fees). They charged me shipping and handling on return anyway - customer service rude and hung up on me when I tried to get shipping credit. WORST WEB BUYING EXPERIENCE EVER. ZERO STARS
Customers beware, you cannot cancel an order once placed and put in the "process" mode. I ordered two items on 5/31 and cancelled thru calling Customer Services on June 7th because it showed the item was unavailable at the time. They shipped the item on June 25th and charged my account. I tried to cancel the item that was unavailable again on June 29th and was told it was in "process" even though it was not shipped and couldn't be canceled. I will never order anything again from appleseed's. Issues fall on deaf ears.
"I received a pop-up coupon offer and clicked on it. I was immediately enrolled in the VIP Program without any clear way of getting out of the coupon offer. I also did not read that they would be charging my credit card $1.99 per month for this so-called service.
The same day I sent their customer service an email that I want the program cancelled.
The next day they charged $1.99 to my credit card AND sent me an email that they had cancelled the program and would not be charging my credit card again. NO MENTION OF REVERSING THE CHARGE TO MY CREDIT CARD AFTER I CANCELLED THE SERVICE.
I am outraged that Appleseeds would stoop to slimy behavior such as this and will not be buying anymore merchandise from them.
BUYER BEWARE. Do not take them up on their coupon offers, you'll regret it. They can keep their coupons. "
In March I ordered a jacket and matching slacks. When I placed the order I thought I ordered a size 14 but on the confirmation e-mail it said a size 16. I called them right away and asked them to change the order to a 14. They told me this could not be done because the order had already been shipped... which it was not shipped until 3 days later. They told me I could return the order and the correct size would be sent. Two months later I received an e-mail telling the pants are on back-order and would not be available until the end of July. There is no way I want a summer outfit I ordered in March at the end of July. I probably would just chalk it up to experience if the same thing had not happened last year. After reporting the issue last year to the Better Business Bureau it was finally resolved but it took some time. This company has a major problem and I will not doing business with them again. I have placed over a hundred orders online and I find it strange this is the only company I make a size mistake when placing a order. Then it takes them a number of months to address the issue.
Think twice about purchasing from Appleseeds. I placed an order, had it gift wrapped, and scheduled for delivery to my Aunt's house. When I got the confirmation, it showed shipping address the same as my billing address. I called and asked to have it redirected to the address I entered into the website. I was told that it was not possible as the order was already in shipping and they would not pull it off a truck at this point. I was very frustrated, and thought, well at least I would be getting it quickly. When I still had not received the purchase on Thursday of the that week (order placed previous Saturday, and purchased expedited 3 day shipping), I called to find out when my shipment would be delivered. The CS person told me Monday for one box and Tuesday for the other, and again, she cannot explain why the delay in spite of the 3 day shipping I paid for. No explanation at all! While they did offer to refund the shipping charges, I am now waiting a week for product to be delivered to the wrong address, with no explanation whatsoever. I'd gladly pay a bit more for my merchandise if I can get it shipped and delivered as promised. Ugh. Stay away. This organization is very shady.
If I could give it zero stars, I would. I ordered 2 gifts for Christmas and tracked it on UPS. I could see that it was not leaving UPS a week before Christmas and called them. They told me it would not be considered "lost" until 8 business days were up, which was Friday before Christmas. Well still no package on that Friday. I called them after Christmas to cancel the order and then they said I had to wait 30 days because the order might come. When I told them I did not want the order anymore as it was a Christmas gift, they did not care. I asked for a manager, and she would not budge either. Then it would be up to me to track when the 30 days was up to tell them the package still did not come until they would refund my money. Well the package finally came the Friday after Christmas and when I went to return it, I noticed they charge a $9.99 return fee. I called them to get it waived, argued with the customer service (a term I use lightly for them) on why it should be waived, and then after 5 minutes of back and forth, he said he would have "company policy" reviewed when it's returned and determine if they would waive the fee. I'm not holing my breath.
Ordered a jacket and paid 2nd day air, wanted it for a vacation. Waited the two days, didn't receive the jacket. Called Appleseed and they said the order was sitting in the warehouse somewhere, but when they got to it, it would still ship out 2nd day air - ARE YOU KIDDING ME! They said they would reimburse me my shipping fee, we will see if that happens. I will NEVER visit this sight again - bewared!
On December 4, placed an order. One of the items in the order was the ruffled collar plain tunic and I used $20 from my rewards as part of the payment for the order. The fabric irritated my skin and the cut was strange so it didn't fit correctly or hang right. I returned it within 2 weeks of receipt using their packing label. So far so good. I was expecting a refund to my credit card of $57.45 (the original purchase price less the $6.95 shipping cost for using their label). What I received was a refund to my credit card of $37.26. I called Appleseeds and had to call back several times before I finally got a real person to talk to. What I learned is that Appleseeds will not refund the $20 I used in rewards, or spread it over all the items in the order, or return it to my rewards bank. Apparently, the policy is that any coupon, rewards or gift card used on a purchase is deducted from a return (even if only 1 item in an order it returned) as well as the shipping cost for using their label. Then, the person is emailed a store credit for the amount of the rewards, coupon or gift card used and the store credit expires in 90 days. Since I don't currently need anything from Appleseeds, the store credit is useless to me. I think what concerns me the most is that I was totally unaware of this policy. I didn't see it on any of the return paperwork I completed or in any of the emails I received. This policy also makes the rewards program rather pointless as I probably return 20% of my orders because they don't fit correctly. If any rewards I use are deducted off the return, then it's pointless to use the rewards or if I do, it's pointless to return the item, it would make more sense to try to sell it. All this to say. I won't be shopping at Appleseeds in the future.
I placed an order on June 6,2021, paid for it by credit card, received a confirmation email and NEVER received the order by August 11,2021! I called the customer service number shown on the email and talked to a call center, an independent business, not Appleseed company itself. The call center was not able to find my order. NEVER ORDER FROM THIS FRAUD COMPANY.
Watch out! They offer you a coupon and if you take it you are 'enrolled' in their VIP crap and will be charged monthly until you catch it on your card!
Their site said if you order by the 18th it will be there by the 25th. I ordered on the 15th. Then I got an email when it was mailed (on the 18th) that said it was 2 day Fedex. The package arrived on the 28th or later. I requested a refund of the postage. They wrote back and said I didn't pay for expedited shipping. The advertising said regular shipping. They said I could write back if I didn't agree. I wrote back, but they never even acknowlegde my proof that their commitment was not fulfilled. Never ever do business with this company. A complete sham!
I ordered a yellow blouse. Appleseed's sent me a white blouse and refused to send me a yellow one unless I returned the white one. However, I am disabled, which is why I ordered online, and cannot get to a post office. Too bad Appleseed's forgot the first rule of doing business: THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT. :)
I ordered a pair or 7 1/2 shoes. Actual size was more an 8 or 8 1/2. The quality was so poor the sides of the shoes were "wavey" before I even put them on so they buckled out badly along the sides.
I have ordered from this company once before and was disappointed then also. Shame on me for ordering again. AND THEY CHARGED $9.99 TO RETURN THE POOR QUALITY PRODUCT! Save yourself the expense and frustration; look elsewhere.
I ordered a fabric purse. It smelled like mold when it arrived. I returned the item. Why would anybody ship an item that smelled of mold? I would rate this service as zero.
You would never guess from their attractive catalogs that this company is unethical. I have, however, just found on my credit card bill, a charge for "Appleseeds Reward" in the amount of $14.95. The Reference Number is 6972, which -- according to my credit card company -- indicates some kind of "subscription."
I have ordered from this company twice (and returned both items because they were oversized), but I certainly never "subscribed" to any service of theirs.
I tried to telephone Appleseeds, but there is no one there on the weekend, and today is Saturday.
I then tried to place this charge in "Dispute" with my credit card company, so that I could go ahead and pay the balance of my credit card bill. But it turns out that these phony "subscription" charges cannot be placed in Dispute. And guess what -- this is legal (so I was told by my credit card company) under the recently passed Federal Credit and Billing Act.
On Monday I am going to contact Appleseeds through my credit card company dispute department and try to get A to cancel the charge. I am also going to file charges for fraud against Appleseeds with my State (VT) Attorney General's Office.
I have been a customer of Appleseed's for the past 15 years. I've always have great experiences with both their customer service and quality of the clothing. That's changed, though. My Mom ordered a sweater for me for my birthday. She ordered it on Jan. 20th to be delivered by my birthday (Feb. 29). The rep. Assured her it would be here on time. I got it on March 6th. The first time I put it on, I discovered the zipper had been installed backwards. I emailed customer service and asked for a prepaid label to return this defective sweater. They told me to use the label that came in the package and the fee would be deducted from the refund or exchange. I then called customer service and complained that since the merchandise was defective, I wanted a prepaid return label. They weren't in the least apologetic that the sweater was made wrong. Now that I've seen other posters comment that this company is a Blair company, it all makes sense. No wonder Appleseed's quality and cust. Service has gone to s*%t. Don't shop here. You can find the very same stuff at Christopher and Banks and at least their customer service is top notch and the stores are staffed by locals.
DO NOT SHOP or ORDER AT APPLESEED! Ordered on June 15th, 2023 and paid with credit card. Promised 8 to 10 day delivery. It is now July 21,2023 - - 36 days after placing and paying for the order and have only on "July 19th" received 1 of 7 total blouses and still no delivery on the remaining 6. I've called repeatedly and just get a lot of meaningless words. No explanation for me originally being told it was shipping FEDEX but now its USPS and I keep being told to "just wait a couple more days" along with being told twice now that my remaining FoxCroft blouses are at the post office and being held there for me. Keep in mind the Post Office is 15 miles away (each way) Tried to call again however now their phones are said to be "down?" Additionally when placing this order, I ordered several tank tops that were in stock when placing order, but they can't include these as they are "out of stock" - figure that! DO NOT SHOP APPLESEED! I wish I had seen these reviews before I placed my order. I have copies of all correspondence for verification.
I just rec'd my first order. I paid $8.99 extra for expedited shipping... which their catalog order form clearly states as UPS 3-Day Shipping... in order to have the pkg delivered by UPS and not the Post Office (I have an account with UPS that automatically diverts my pkgs to their local office for me to pick up. The Post Office just leaves them on the doorstep and they get stolen). So what did they do? They sent it via DHL hand-off to the Post Office, and I was informed it would be delivered today! So in order to avoid a stolen pkg, I had to cancel appointments and stay home. When the pkg arrived, I waited 25 mins to get through to Cust. Svc. To request a refund of the $8.99 because I did not GET UPS 3-Day Shipping. Both the rep and her supervisor refused because "UPS wasn't the guaranteed shipper" despite what's printed in their catalog (see photo)! The supervisor said "the package arrived on time and besides, we're not responsible for misprints." It wasn't a misprint, Mr. Cruz, and you know it. So even though I reminded him that I was a new customer, and that I was making a reasonable request, he refused to refund me the $8.99 saying "we'd never be able to recoup it from the shipper." Like I care! Appleseed's lost a customer. Try recouping THAT.
Your website is down in the Greensboro, NC area. Been down for about a week.
When can we expect it back up and working, in the meantime do we need to call to place and order?
Answer: To my knowledge they have been associated with Blair and several other companies. Ive had great service with them ordering and reordering different sizes and getting a quick refund. I returned items on my own, not with their label and saved a couple dollars that way. Thank God I was lucky because all these reviews sound awful. I did get free shipping so returning one item out of three was $7, but since the dresses were on sale for $17 from $70 I cant complain. I got my return credit in a week. Ive tried to review my dresses, but cant figure out how after searching their website.
