I just got back from Las Vegas and I booked a room with Amoma for the first time. I booked a hotel in Vegas called the Lucky Dragon Hotel and "Casino." However when we went to check in, there was no casino, no hotel amenities, no restaurants on site. Our lyft driver said their casino went bankrupt in a January (I booked through Amoma around June). So my husband and I were in Vegas for an anniversary and we were in a hotel that wouldn't give us the Vegas experience. If we would've stayed there, we would have to take a taxi or uber everytime we wanted a bite to eat, gamble, or pretty much do anything. On top of that the hotel wanted to charge a "resort fee" of $33+/night! For what?!
So I tried I chat with an Amoma representative when I checked into this terrible hotel. The hotel manager said that they will OK a refund, but we had to call Amoma to tell them to call the hotel because we pre-paid. I used the chat app on the Amoma website because they didn't have a 800 number I could call from America. I told the Amoma representative that when I booked the room, no where under the description of the hotel said the casino was closed and so were their restaurants. Additionally it was sooo misleading to call the hotel Lucky Dragon Hotel AND "CASINO" when there was no casino! The rep claimed when I finalized payment for the room I signed something that said there casino was closed but when I looked back on my records there was NOTHING that said that. I asked the rep for proof of what I signed or an example of where it said that and they couldn't provide it for me. I went back on their site to see the hotel description of this hotel, and I couldn't even locate it on their site to verify. So we had to eat the cost of this terrible room. We checked right out of this hotel and booked elsewhere. This would never happen with Expedia or Travelocity. I will NEVER book with Amoma again. TERRIBLE customer service and AWFUL misrepresentation of hotel.
Like many people do, I conducted a search on an online search engine to find accommodation in Bruges, Belgium for my baby and myself. A fantastic deal stood out above all the others offering a very impressive discount on a 4 night stay with a boutique hotel (Jan Brito). The agent responsible for the booking was AMOMA.COM. The offer was for bed and breakfast in a twin / double room for 1 adult and 1 infant. I booked the hotel and paid £376. AMOMA sent me a confirmation e-mail confirming what I had booked, which looked as it should.
A couple of days before the remainder of the money was due to be removed from my account, I contacted the hotel direct to make sure they had a cot for the baby to sleep in. To my horror, I discovered via the hotel that although they had a reservation under my name it was only for 1 adult in a single room. They explained that due to health and safety I would not be allowed the baby in the single room and I would therefore need to pay to upgrade my room and pay for the cost of a cot too. I could not afford to do this and I was horrified that what I had booked and paid for was not in fact what I was going to get.
In the 18 days prior to departure, I spent a lot of time going back and forth between the hotel and the agent trying to get the matter resolved. I asked for a refund in full on several occasions because they were unable to resolve the matter. AMOMA kept telling me that Jan Brito were refusing to refund me and the Jan Brito told me that AMOMA had full control in respect of refunding me my money.
On the day of the flight, I received an e-mail from AMOMA telling me that the matter had been resolved and my baby was now included on the reservation. It was all too little too late. Anyone who is a parent will understand that you cannot take unnecessary risks when children are involved. There is no way I could have got on that flight and travelled to a country knowing that my baby did not have anywhere to rest at night due to booking failures, which were the responsibility of AMOMA.
To add insult to injury, AMOMA think it acceptable to refund me £35 for the inconvenience. Because of their poor business processes and lack of urgency in dealing with the matter which concerned an 11 month old baby, we were unable to risk travelling abroad without having accommodation in place for the two of us.
For these reasons I do not recommend AMOMA to anybody. I highly recommend avoiding them at all costs. This is not an isolated incident. When looking into AMOMA and its services, I discovered that they have failed many other people. Avoid, avoid, avoid!

On October 25th, I made a reservation online by AMOMA, believing that I am making a reservation of two nights, from the 25th to the 27th of October, at the Hotel Clarion Farias Lima. However, by mistake and totally in good faith, the reservation I made was for the days 25 to 27 November, that is, one month after the desired period and enjoyed by another hotel. So, as soon as I realized the error, I sent a message to the site stating the mistake and asking me to disregard the reservation, even though it is non-refundable.
As I mentioned, the reservation was misleading. I have already sent some 3 or 4 messages to AMOMA, but so far I have not received an answer on the subject. Yesterday and today I was in contact with the hotel Clarion Faria Lima who, after hearing my explanations, agreed to cancel the reservation at no cost to me.
Therefore, I hereby request due attention to the case in search of a friendly solution, that is, the effective reimbursement on the grounds that the hotel booked accept the free cancellation, without fee, without costs, despite the rule posted on the site. It is worth mentioning that in Brazil there is a right to repentance and / or withdrawal of an online purchase within 7 days, according to the Consumer Defense Code.
In this way, I have already canceled the reservation number ******* today on the website and I received confirmation that the hotel accepted the cancellation of the reservation without charge, so that I respectfully request that I pay the amount paid, in the amount of US $ 220.40.
