“Amazon excels in service and quality!”

For all its faults of garbage build up and small store closures, Amazon has been a miracle store for me. Things I didn't even know existed are available, I got elderberry syrop for my grand daughter the next day!? It has opened my eyes to so many possibilities for crafts, repairs and quality. I don't know how they accomplish such great service, never heard of before. Much Much appreciated ALL AMAZON WORKERS! BRAVO!

“Amazon failed me, didn't deliver order after 10 months and cancelled just now!”

R W.
2/8/24

Manufacturer and Amazon failed me, didn't deliver order after 10 months and cancelled just now! 7 months ago I called to either cancel or get the item as well, and the Amazon rep LIED to me saying they were getting the mufflers back in stock already so I should just wait... nothing. Destroyed my project and now increasing pricing for me as I could have gotten it and other parts in the order elsewhere nearly 11 months earlier! (now it's winter)

I've been shopping with Amazon for a long time and since they switched delivery company my parcels aren't being delivered or even attempted to be delivered. Customer service doesn't seem to care when you contact them about the problem. Amazon definitely isn't the way they used to be. Once I get my last refund for a parcel that was sent back because of being undeliverable at the same address that I've been using for years, I'm closing my account

Tip for consumers:
Amazon should’ve kept Canada post or purolator for deliveries there was less problems with deliveries as well as Amazon should hire better better customer service that cares about the people instead of brushing them off.

I make some product choices based on delivery timeframe. Why does Amazon change the delivery date…significantly as soon as the purchase goes through. This has gone from once in a while to a 95 % chance for every purchase. Amazon and google are in tandem pushing over priced alternative products even though my search is very specific. The fake 5 star reviews of products are way to easy to spot.

Customer service
Order a turbo oven on Amazon.ca Dec 20 2019 it was shown In Stock, shipped 1-2 days. I wasn't given a delivery day. Dec 23rd got in touch with Amazon.ca customer rep., told me they do have in stock and is putting the item together (?) I will be getting an email in 48hrs. Nothing, I waited giving the benefit of the doubt due to the holiday time, still nothing. January 7th, contact customer services again, I was told it was out of stock in my area and I will have to wait. This rep. Offer extend my prime for a month. That doesn't justified the false information they gave me and the time I been waiting for it. Then told me I will get a confirmation email when it is ready for delivery. It did not happen, ask to speak to a supervisor, I was told it was due to technical difficulties that I will get an email in 48hrs (same thing). I ask why was it listed in Stock when I purchase if they didn't have any in stock but was also told in stock on the 23th of December and I will get it soon that it was expedited but than now it's not available again. To my surprise, I get disconnected by the team lead with no response to my question. Got connected to a new, rudely said the best they can do is to cancel it and for me to reorder it right away for it is in stock now and ready to ship in 1-2 days. They just cancel the item without me saying yes to canceling it. Super rude customer services. If they had it in stock why not just ship me the item?

When shopping on this website you really need to be careful. Vendors on this website will mark up a product readily available elsewhere by 50%-100% more in hopes of making a quick profit on the unsuspecting shopper. Most items come directly from Chinese factories and take months to arrive with incredibly difficult hoops to return the product should it be required to do so. There are things available at competitive prices, but you really must exercise your due diligence and compare prices of the item you're looking for else where. Amazon.ca is not to be trusted.

I have been an Amazon customer for at least 13 years now. In fact I've been a prime member since they started offering it to students for free at the very beginning. This used to be the ultimate online shopping experience. Serious, real customer reviews, guaranteed delivery dates, good customer service, and accountability when they mess up. These days? The site is jam packed with thousands of fake reviews for generic Chinese products, and their Prime Two day and One day shipping methods offered are wishful thinking, as, while they usually follow through, they have plenty of loopholes to not deliver on time without any accountability - It's now happened to me more than a few times. Getting past their bot-wall to reach a real customer service agent is a hurdle. Once you get ahold of a human, it boils down to one of two answers: 1) Sorry, something happened, and we'll get your item to you as soon as possible! But no idea when soon really is - Or 2) Well, sorry, we can't really fulfil this delivery so we'll just go ahead and cancel the order. Sure you get your money back, but the time waiting for stuff you probably needed, and could have bought faster somewhere else is not coming back. Considering by the point I have reached out they are already at least more than 4 days late on their original estimate, and that the shipping time on the "tracking" keeps shifting, they have long known they won't be fulfilling the order anywhere near on time - I get it, stuff happens, but instead of giving you a real explanation and a new honest delivery timeframe, they just let it hang until the customer is pissed enough to ask what's happening, and worse yet, they have the gall to continue promoting as "one-day shipping" an item they are fully aware they cannot realistically deliver in less than a week. Put simply, today, the only things separating Amazon from Ali Express are the prices (Ali is way cheaper), the prime membership (Which Ali doesn't do) and the geographical advantage of Amazon (the only point in it's favor at this point. Otherwise? The merchandise they sell is like 70% the same, it's pricier in Amazon and the reviews are equally fake. Amazon has seriously gone to the crapper. BTW, their streaming service offers 0 added value, as their shows are garbage - I spend 0 time on there. I wish they'd stop spending their budget on trying to be Netflix's underachieving cousin and instead spent those resourses bringing their core service back to the high standards of old. I'll happily keep paying prime for the same amount with no streaming at the same amount if they just fix their damned online shopping experience... you know, the actual raison d'être of the company.

Years ago Amazon.ca used to actually take pride in their service and products. I do find their customer service still fairly good but their Prime Membership doesn't actually guarantee anything. 3/4 items recently ordered did not arrive on time. Also the products have been used or defective. Since returning items is free it seems they don't actually care if the product is as ordered inconveniencing you is part of the process now. Wayfair, Amazon and Walmart all use 3rd party sellers and all of them have become "buy at your own risk" vendors. I am no longer ordering online as I am tired of the time investment required and the constant disappointment.

I recently ordered a book from Amazon.ca, this was to see if they were fast as Indigo. I paid for the fastest shipping option they had available, but for some reason this hasn't helped them ship it faster. They just can't seem to compete with Indigo, it was my mistake to think they could. Nice website, lots of products, but I think it was a bad idea to try buying from them. I'll consider them for other things, but they lost me when it comes to buying books. Don't pay for the premium shipping method, it's not worth it.

I have been an amazon customerfor many years now, and there is one major issue thatkeeps popping up with EVERY order. Excessive waste in packaging and delivery!
Items are always shipped in excessively large boxes and so called add on items are shipped seperately from the rest of your order. Last week i ordered a humidifier that was packaged in four (yes 4) nestled boxes and about 20 of those air filledbags.
In a time when we are supposed to bereducing waste, amazon goes out of their way to create excess.

Ordered a piece of electronic equipment I need for work from them and it is clear from the delivery picture that they have delivered to the wrong address and I cannot find the package at my neighbours' doors. Tried to chat with them for an immediate replacement or refund so I can order a new one, but they keep telling me, repeatedly "to wait a few days in case the package arrives and for them to complete the investigation", even though it's clear that the package was not delivered correctly. I asked to speak to the supervisor and got told the exact same thing, that "they cannot do anything at the moment and I have to wait." I tried to reason with them but they ignored me for 10 minutes straight, then came back and gave me the exact same response. It is ridiculous that my package is further delayed for the mistake on their part, and that they didn't even sound apologetic or offer me any form of compensation.
Then I called them and the customer service person immediately offered me a refund after checking the system. So if you want something fixed, just save yourself some time and call them instead, skip the chat.

Tip for consumers:
If you need something fixed, skip the chat as they are unprofessional, and does not solve your issue. Call them instead

Amazon makes its own decisions often contrary to common law. I get refunds because of false advertising, which were caught by my patient group's technical staff's testers and meters. Most of my purchases (from 120 to 220 orders in a 90-day period) are for my patients' therapy, and many sellers are advertising fraudulent specifications... including seller frauds, and products that could have caught fire or exploded, and/or, could have caused our fire insurance to be cancelled because they are not legal for sale in BC, Canada:

E.g. Seller HongPinShangMao falsely advertised a button-top 3400maH 20A-drain (low internal resistance) battery. Then HongPinShangMao deleted the listing after I ordered, so I cannot show a photo of my battery analyzer stating <2000 mAH only. Furthermore, my analyzer shows the internal resistance is only 55 miliohms to 110 milliohms -- not the 15 millohms that is the 20A-drain average. Return postage is $138

Other examples.
Sold by: Brightison
UPDATED TO 1-STAR Unit #3 of 4 purchased: Dead on arrival, see photo, an internal part is cracked and warped Unit #4 of 4 purchased: One of the flat-top unprotected ******* cells was upside-down in its chamber. Had our staff not been lucky, or had been in a hurry, a fire or explosion may have ensued when the light was charged. The batteries are shipped by Wurkkos in a partially-charged state.

Sold by: WurkkosDirect
WurkkosDirect has a duty, and failed in its duty under Common Law and the Universal Commercial Code (the "UCC), to disclose that HD20's (electrically-improper) draw 9V from USB chargers. Seller failed to live up to its refund promise to compensate us for destruction of our Power Meter and our Voltage Converter caused by its 9V draw and its faulty Power Bank feature.

Order# *******675-*******__
See photos. See 2 photos. 11C hotter. Output exceeds some devices' voltage maximums.

I have many "returns" which are actually refunds due to faulty products or illegally-sold products in contravention of BC's electrical safety laws.

Its customer service online chat feature has been non-functioning for over a year.

By deleting safety or fire insurance info by verified purchasers, while allowing such products to continue to be sold, in my opinion Amazon is liable for ultra vires actions in a lawsuit like Whiten vs Pilot Insurance Co. Wherein huge punitive damages were awarded by courts and a jury.

I ordered a solar panel on the 8 Nov. I got an email that I would get it between the 10 and the 15 Nov. I called on the 14 as the item was not even shipped yet and was told I would have it the next day, I did not believe that. On the 15 I get an email the item will be delivered on the 19 Nov and it still had not ship. It is highly unacceptable. I needed this item fast. They are getting worst, they representative barely speak english. I will be looking somewhere else to shop.

Tip for consumers:
They are highly unreliable in some cases. Their stock level is not accurate.

I'm done with Amazon. I'm going back to a brick and morter store because at least I know my items will be correct. I ahve had a number of instances where my item went to another house, i get someone else's delviery, or like today, totally wrong item delivered. It was a birthday gift for my son that he will have to wait for now while the replacement comes. On the return side, I have to sit aorund my house now waiting for someone to pick it up because there is no ability to schedule a time window. Very disappointing.
As far as my opinion is concerned (which, let's behonest, Amazon doesn't give a flying f*** about), the company has grown too big that losing custoemrs mean nothing to them.

Amazon should stop using Intelcom as their return pick up. They never come.
My first pick up was scheduled for 30th November. At 10pm I get a message that the driver could not make it so I should reschedule. I did and was slotted for 4th December. Same thing happened.
Both the days I was stuck in the house as no approximate time was given. Rescheduled again for today. Got a message at 8am that it'll be picked up. It's been 6 hours and no further message or phone calls.
There is no customer service/ contact available where you can talk to someone.
The only reason I chose this as Amazon has withdrawn from drop offs at Canada Post and UPS. These two facilities are in every neighborhood unlike Purolator. The closest one to my place is 10 minutes drive. Not convenient at all.
I have to rethink on ordering from Amazon now. It's more of a hassle than ease.

Two weeks in a row they have misdirected our packages to other homes. One home owner was going to keep it, the other home owner called us and asked if we wanted our package. She advised us that they contact amazon.ca customer service and that they told her to keep our package. Dynamex and Intellcom are two of the worst shipping companies and yet Amazon insists on using them. We refunded the prime. May as well pay to have it shipped via Canada post and avoid their one or two day shipping which doesn't seem to be a good deal, especially if your packages are being misdirected. This is not just twice that this has happened, but after two weeks in a row we were fed up.

Amazon owes me a refund. Placed two orders one with three items. Prior to shipping I realized one item was the wrong length. I canceled it and reordered the correct size. They however decided to charge me for the other two items at $25.97 without refunding the $22.59 for canceled item even though they already charged me $48.54 for sll three items. So I have now paid $105.01 for items worth $56.45. I await 48 hrs to determine if the correction will be made. I don't trust their customer service reps or supervisors as I have had this run around from other companies to contact your bank but it was the retailer that took the debit and didn't correct with a deposit. It's shady behaviour. They always double charge immediately but make you wait for a adjustment/correction that may never happen without time and follow up.

Amazon believes if the shipper just drops off parcel on porch and it disappears it is my problem. I didn't receive my item... I am out money... but not their problem. So for all I know shipper could say it was delivered and walk away with it or a person on the street can walk up and help themselves. At least Canada post puts it between doors or leaves a pick up at outlet card. I am out money and they don't care.
I used to be really happy with Amazon. This has caused me to want to close my account and I spend a good deal on this site
