Beware of West Elm (affiliated with William Sonoma) and Affirm (finance company)!
Both companies have overcharged and not delivered. Went online to review both of them and found atrocious reviews! Had I known I would have NEVER done business with them!
On February 13,2023 I bought 2 patio sofas. On April 29,2023 I only got one sofa. Today, July 1,2023 I am still disputing my undelivered sofa, the overcharge with Affirm and or reimbursement of the transaction. The back and forth emails with both companies have been ridiculously numerous and to no avail. The 2 sofas were a total of $2,998 and Affirm is charging me $3,849.64 on a 3 month 0% interest loan. This loan is autopay via my bank.
Don't understand this math! If you had a 0 rating or less, I would give both company that!
Remember... this company WILL NOT set you up for success. There is also very very limited ways of getting ahold of representatives.
Bought a hair straightener. Paid through Affirm. Never got any communication from Merchant. Never got product. Affirm can't figure it out.
This company is nothing but a freaking scam! I was issued a refund and never received it! No records now. Talked to 2 mangers and 3 regular employees and no one can get their story right. This company needs to be shut the hell down fast! Beware!
I purchased a plant on Amazon for a hundred dollars using affirm. Worst mistake ever! The merchant ended up charging me full price so the full balance was taken out of my account along with the balance In the loan.Basically I was being charged twice for two plants! After 3 phone calls I got the order cancelled and was awaiting my refund. I called affirm just for them to tell me that they applied my refund to my balance of my loan when I already paid the down payment and my first payment isn't even due until July 22nd. I'm utterly disgusted with the greedy son of a $#*!es and won't ever be using them again!
Today I was going to buy my wedding ring. It said I was approved for $5530. When I went to buy my ring my credit line had dropped to $950 all because I paid a loan with them off early. Don't use them.
I have a credit score of 775. Affirm tried to charge over 28% interest, higher than my credit cards! Avoid!
Used them once, process was simple but they really f your credit score. I have excellent credit and when amazon proposed a 0 % 4 payment offer, I figured why not, 0 risk but jebus, this was like a grenade on my credit score for no reason, I'm in the process of filling a complaint with the consumer protection agency of my province. Avoid, not worth it ans shame on Amazon for dealing with such a scketchy company.
I recently received a text message indicating an attractive price for a product I was searching for. The text came from a fraudulent source but used Affirm for loan application and payment. None of this was clear at the time of the sale.
When the product was not delivered and inquiries made, the site I thought I was buying from had no record of the sale, and therefore, no product would be forthcoming.
My complaint to Affirm was why did they pay a fraudulent site. Doesn't their security know the difference between a legitimate source and a scammer? When I told this to Affirm all they kept asking me for was correspondence from the order site acknowledging the order. The site used by the scam artist had no order, so I couldn't send anything. When I told them that, they still insisted there policies do not cover fraud like this, so I had to pay because they had to recover their payment.
They are bogus and should not be trusted. They do not have adequate security to protect themselves and are leaving everything up to the consumer to verify and manage.
I will never use them again under any circumstances.
I set up automatic payments, they took money then accused me of non payment. I called, they apologized, I paid them off. Now several months later they reported me to the credit bureau for non payment and I owed them nothing. Stated my bank declined, which is a complete lie. Very dishonest company. Crooked.
We never received product no tracking.
We were bill $400. When we call affirm is unable find us under our social security number
Or identity verification. We call ten time to explain.now we are put in collections.we will deal properly. Affirm need to understand
No tracking no product delivery.will not pay
If you don't have the very best credit score, don't even try them. And they will not tell you that you're not approved because of your credit score. They are sneaky and liars. They tell you that they could not verify your identity. No matter how clear and precise are your photos for the profile, they'll tell you that, but the reason isn't that at all. They keep your account as a hostage until you call them and they finally decide to close it, even if you've never used their services at all. Vampires disguised with dishonest politeness. Garbage.
First time and last time using them. I used them through Amazon pay. The merchant didn't complete my order, but affirm charged me anyways. It's been 3 weeks, and it's still showing processing waiting on merchant. Customer service is awful! Every time I get a different story. They don't respond to messages. The Merchant has tried contacting them, they won't return their calls. I've sent them proof from the merchant, they Acknowledge seeing it, yet they still hold my money. This company is a joke, and I'm about to file charges against them
I have called twice and sent three emails. Was told I'd be called back in 48hrs, it's been weeks. Don't use companies that don't have the decency to return phone calls or emails
They were excellent at first but once I bought a brand new phone and switched carriers (same phone number) I haven't been able to regain access to my
Account ever again. They will accept your payments by phone on existing loans but I have called 10 times in the last 8 months since I have switched my carrier and they honestly can't resolve anything to get my account back into my hands. I've had 8-9 loans with them over 2 years never once late, highest loan was $5000 lowest about $600. Last month I paid last payment on my
Last 6 month loan and gave them a call today to see if maybe I could get the account back and nope. The guy had me on phone 30 mins going back and forth between a supervisor telling me if he can find another Avenue to reinstate my
Account without case escalation claim which takes 5-7 business days which I have done 5 times before with out any conclusion period from where we started and after exactly 34 min today I was told the very same thing. I told him sir I'd be entirely surprised if you can give me any type of different outcome at the end of this call that doesn't entail "well inform you in 5 days" run around that I'd be extremely pleased and proud but nope nope nope. It's over for good between me and them. I figure if they reinstate the account it would be short lived anyhow because if just changing phone providers does this imagine something more complicated. I'll never use them again. We both lose because I liked using them the 24 months or so
What a joke, 704 credit score, and they say that according to the credit report, I was approved 29% interest rate. Be aware loan shark company
I have used affirm to to get credit when I couldn't. I am grateful Recently I received a new credit card from Affirm. I saw where my limit was based on my checking account balance and it matched my balance exactly. I was shocked that they actually had access to my bank account. I spoke to a representative that advised me if I had a card on file, that gave them permission to check my account. I never agreed that this was ok. No other business operates this way. Spoke to my bank and they couldn't figure out how that information was obtained. Long story short. I removed all payment methods and closed the account. Be cautious!
I've never seen a business that operates E-commerce in this fashion. They finance part of items, instead of the whole item. It's a useless service that you might as well not use because you'll be paying a hefty amount immediately anyways.
I traditionally used Affirm for Christmas shopping on Walmart's website yearly. I always paid on time until the balance was zero.
Then I needed to update my phone number after moving. They kept telling me the old number I provided didn't match their records therefore I could not be processed. Evidently, they had the wrong number on file and I had the responsibility of guessing what that number was. Unbelievable. They had me do so many submissions etc only to have the end results be the same.
When I complained to management, who also was no help, they told me to use different info, whatever that means. Clearly I'm wrongfully blacklisted all because of a phone number update. It's just plain stupid to have a phone number be more important as a verification than a social, address, copy of my DL license, etc. The stupidity is unreal, they lie, and will say they'll send emails to you that never arrive that are suppose to contribute to solving the issue.
How many customers have been wrongfully blacklisted over such trivial things?
AND of course Walmart was no help either. They only use Affirm and no other similar such companies. Well, thank goodness the U.S.A. has so many more options.
I'll be reporting them to other agencies as well now that I've given it thought. BBB, Atty general, the bank that operates/funds them etc. I'm just so annoyed all over again anytime I think of it.
Used Affirm in the past for 4 previous purchases from Amazon as Amazon has Affirm as one of their payment options. Decided to use them again and realized that they are now charging huge interest that is double my credit card interest rate. It's a bit of a scam as it appears they are now running a credit check which is not what they advertise on Amazon and on top of that, they actually don't even report your payments to the credit bureau. I've seen other comments they only report if you don't pay. Now I have paid off all my previous loans early and when I saw my recent purchase was also going to have interest I cancelled my order immediately with Amazon. You get 2 emails now, one confirming your loan is approved and now a second one saying they checked the credit bureau and now charging interest. With a credit score of almost 800…I laughed at their email stating "based on your information from credit union xxxxx, your loan is approved with 20+% interest". Makes no sense and is a complete scam. Amazon should be monitoring this as a key Amazon partner, so I'm now buying a lot less from Amazon and physically just go to the original brick and mortar type stores as I'm not giving my money to a company that allows a huge misleading payment option.
Answer: On paper legit, sort of, but really a scam. They aren't even who you are financing with.
Answer: I had heard of the company because a friend actually knows the owner. Very sorry I did worst experience I have ever had.
Answer: It's not. They now also are charging large interest amounts. Don't use them.
Answer: Follow Walmart's lead... don't use them! Affirm makes everything complicated.
