I've had over 29 loans with a excellent pay history. I've had 2 bouts with Covid now covid related illnesses that is affecting affecting my pay. I knew my savings would be depleted by October 2022 so I started requesting assistance in June 2022. I went through 4 different representative of their Global partners (Huge Language Barrier). On 2 occasions I asked to speak to a supervisor and was sent the Covid Assistance Form. In addition, Affirm would have me screenshot the error message received after the assistance completion. If Affirm had approved the Covid Financial Assistance Form, everything would've been on track without causing negative credit reporting issues. However, it was intentionally blocked over 29 times to process the forms. Due to the date of my deposited funds, it would always be 5 - 10 days after due date. When I filed with Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, their response stated they call me before placing derogatory items (Past Due Payments) on my credit report. From different phone numbers they would wait for you answer the phone then hang up. It's one of their tactics to make the customer call even though they've spoken to one of representative's 1 - 2 hours ago. Then told them they could not remove accurate information and would not remove it. User's recommendation: Use Klarna and/or Afterpay Instead Affirm
I've been using Affirm for a few years and never had a problem - until i had to change my phone number in August 2022. Now I can no longer access my account. I tried changing it online first. In doing that, you get to a point where you're forced to call them. When you call, you're told that they have to send you an email, which should arrive the next business day or soon after that. I got the email, uploaded my ID, completed the forms, and was told there was an error and they couldn't complete my request. Since then, I've called about 20 times, and get the same thing about the email. But I never got another email! No one will help me. I put in my email address for verification, my ss#, my home address and dob. NOTHING! All because I had to change my phone number! I couldn't pay my loans because I couldn't access my account, and my credit score dropped 67 points! If someone tried to steal my identity at this point, the joke's on them. I didn't have to show a photo id when I first used affirm, and now that they have it, I'm locked out of my account. STAY AWAY!
I recently took out a loan. I was given a 5k line of credit. I used about 2900 of it ordering a new computer. Financed for 6 months. So now I get to get my computer with a lot less stress for $100 in interest. They sent me a text notification 5 days before my autopay would be withdrawn. I decided to make an additional payment and was able to make that payment easily on their website.
Yes, it took about a month to get my product, but Affirm had nothing to do with that. Affirm allowed me to get an additional credit line so hopefully when I pay it off my credit score goes up even more. It's going to hopefully allow me to do the same thing with some other larger purchases in the future.
I have read many negative reviews and it seems like most of the negative reviews are people who do not understand how credit works. Affirm does not ship your product. Affirm does not prepare your order. They give money to the company you want to buy from so you can get the thing you want to buy with less stress on your finances in the near term.
So far Affirm has been a breeze to work with and I appreciate that I can now pay for my $3k PC and peripherals every month and have less stress,
SCAM SCAM SCAM! Merchant cancelled my contract and processed the refund but Affirm is refusing to refund back. Remember since they have your SSN they will threaten you to ruin your credit score. DO NOT GIVE YOUR SSN
I was due a refund from Peloton which it was sent thru Affirm but I never received my refund even after Affirm confirm that Peloton gave them the money. They stole my money.
Affirm has helped me so much. My credit has gone up, if I am late making a payment they charge no fees, no company does that! I am able to purchase something that I normally wouldn't have all the money for. And their payment plans are reasonable. Yes they charge a fee to use their services but they have to make money too. And honestly I don't think their fees are that bad. I just decided to write this review just to thank Affirm for all they have done for me. I hope they are helping others out as much as they are helping me. I don't know the owner or creator of Affirm but if you ever see this, FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART THANK YOU SO MUCH. You have no idea how much you have helped me. I was someone with bad credit and they gave me a chance and now because of them my credit is considered fair and it keep going up. I was able to get my son nice school clothes and school supplies because of Affirms payment plans. I just can't thank them enough. Oh and if that's not enough their customer service is the best. Very nice people that work there. I'm so thankful to have found Affirm. I will never stop using Affirm. Thanks again. And NO I do not work for Affirm or am connected to them in any way, and they did not ask me to write a review. I am just another thankful customer
If you debating on if you should use Affirm or not? Do it, you will not regret it.
I purchased something and the first payment was attempting to be done. During the application to buy my camera lens Affirm asked for my Bank debt number so each month an amount could be removed. The first payment was not completed because the person was attempting to run my debt card as a Visa card, I received a message about this. I contacted a member of their HELP team. I explained that the card number I gave was a Bank Debt Card Number as they requested not a VISA card. I gave her my Debt card number and she ran it through and said the VISA wasn't accepted. I said because that is a Debt Card. I then said I will give you my VISA card number and you can run them through with that. I give her all the information and answers yes to a request to do that. Once all that was done, she proceeded to tell me that Affirm doesn't accept Visa cards as a payment method. I asked why did we just go through this when you knew it was my Visa card. I then give her my Debt card number to make sure she had it correct. I told her this was my bank debt card. She ran it through again and responded that the Visa didn't go through. I said we just talked about this for the last five minutes... IT IS A DEBT CARD... run it through as a debt card. She tried again and said it went through. I told her if she did it right in the first place I would not be calling her.
I decided to file a complaint and called back and got another person and explained what happened. She said the payment has gone through and what was the problem. I said, thank you and hung up.
I purchased a ticket in January of 2023, I cancelled it right after, the ticket was financed by Affirm Company, ASAP Tickets did not give the all money back to Affirm in time, and not a full refund as they promised. This went on my Credit Report as an unpaid item, and lowered my credit score from 800 to 600. It is now May 24th and I still have it on my Credit Report. I had to hire a company to correct my score now costing me $ 700.00 to correct something that I DID NOT DO. ROBIN TALMADGE
I ordered a gazebo for $996 through Affirm then I paid it off within a day or two I order through Affirm for protection. I never got my gazebo and I've never gotten my money back.
Paid off my first snd only payment on time no late payments. Did not use them again and got a text that a bill was as due…. That I ordered from eBay which I did not do don't even have an eBay account so disputed this transaction with no results. On 1/28/22 was the first I disputed this transaction and to date a MANAGER has no information on my dispute. We NEED TO DO A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT THEY NEED TO BE PUT FOWN how many other ppl are they doing this to that aren't reporting it
Worst service I've ever experienced! I wish I'd have read the reviews first. I had only made one payment and had it set on auto pay. My bank card was compromised so I had to shut it down. They let me know that they couldn't get the payment to go through so I went to their site to add the new card. When I got it set up it said this payment and the rest will all come out on the 25th of each month. So, seemed like it was all set. The next day they said I needed to make my payment so I called. The lady I spoke with had poor English and spoke so fast that I couldn't understand what she was saying. She said the bank card was rejected. I explained I had put in the new card number and got it set up on auto pay. She continued to say I needed to make the payment. She read the new number to me. I said that's correct so take the payment out of that account. She kept saying the card got rejected on the due date which was the day before I was speaking with her. I told her I understand but I put in a new card. She continued being ignorant so I asked her to let me speak to another person which of course no one ever answered.
So, I hung up. Went to their site and paid the whole account off with the new card I gave her that she kept saying was rejected. Then I removed all of my info. So very unprofessional and difficult to deal with.
This is the worst company. Verified my identity what felt like 700 times. I have a hyphenated last name. I gave her both last names, separately and together, gave them DOB, gave them cell number, and email. She said they couldn't verify me. Spoke to a supervisor after being on hold for 46 minutes who stated he couldn't verify my account. Went through a back and forth for another 40 minutes until he was able to verify my account with GUESS WHAT?! THE ORGIONAL NAME I GAVE THE FIRST LADY I TALKED TO. All I wanted to do was change my payment date. An hour of my life I will never get back.
I have/had quite a few loans with Affirm. They are all on auto pay from my debit and checking account. They offer me this Debit+. I used it to pay for something and split the payments. I used it a second time for $96.00 and did not split into a loan. The Affirm Debit+ is attached to my checking account. Since the very first transfer attempt in June the transfer has failed. Three months in a row. I take out my info and reenter and still they tell me it's me, then it's my bank refusing. I called my bank and they don't have a record of any attempt to transfer the money from Affirm. The next remedy they say is to link another bank account. How many bank accts does one person have? While doing my own research on their app I finally noticed when I put my banks routing # in the Affirm app, the name of the bank that shows is not my bank. Not even the same state. I have told this and written it to Affirm on four occasions. Every time they contact me they never reference my problem or even return my messages, they simply fire off a scripted email totally oblivious to their problem. I called twice and asked for a supervisor. I waited on hold for so long on both occasions I hung up. I have offered to pay over the phone using my debit card. They can't accept any payment other than transfer between the linked accounts is what they tell me. Oh well. Sounds like an Affirm problem. My next stop is my congresswoman and the FTC, Bureau of Consumer Protection.
Firm stopped accepting payment and ruined credit. Tried contacting them several times to no avail. They will ruin your credit!
I got an Xbox Series X through Verizon and AFFIRM did the financing. I cancelled the order before the Xbox was even delivered. The Xbox was processed and returned back to the warehouse. Late February 2023. Verizon did everything they could for me. But AFFIRM still today says the Haven't received information of this cancelation. Affirm does not go over and above when helping you and they told me to make payments on a item I never even had! They say the same things over and over. And always have shifted the blame to Verizon. They say you should a receive a refund with in 3 to 45 days. Dealing with AFFIRM is nothing but a up hill battle. They do not care about helping you. And they never change what they keep telling you no matter how much you plead with them to help you. This company has totally sleazy scam feeling with dealing with them. DO NOT DEAL WITH AFFIRM. As of now I still haven't been able to get my loan cancelled. What a pain in the $#*! this company is. Don't give this company single Penny.
THIS IS A HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE SUPPOSED TO BE A LEGITMATE COMPANY! HORRIBLE HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. THEY ONLY WANT MONEY! BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY. THEY DO NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE RAGGLY MERCHANDISE THAT THEY SCAM FOR!
DO NOT DEAL WITH THESE SCAMMERS!
I purchased a pair of Nikes through Nike they took the payment I never received any shoes so I canceled my loan. If I were able to give them zero Stars I would
I need a new couch. So I went online and found one that I didn't research as well as i should have. I have seen affirm for a long time on several sites, but never looked into it. So I did minimal research into affirm and signed up. Immediately after my purchase, I found out that the item I bought wasn't for me. So I cancelled the order within an hour. Long story short, I had to fight with the vendor and affirm for 5 days. Then I got a bill for an order that I had cancelled. But the vendor, who I had been in touch with for days, hadn't "officially" cancelled... Smh. Meantime, affirm is having none of my evidence that I've cancelled. Before I lost my mind and after days of going back and forth, I got the order cancelled, again. Within a few hours I got an email from affirm confirming my cancellation. I think the vendors are in it together tbh. I've never had to cancel an order more than once before. And reaching affirm on the phone isn't a thing. Be very careful, people. Be positive about your purchase!
They allow scammers for sellers who also harrass you via social media cell and email. Their representatives aren't thr most intelligent it's like talking to trained AI stay away frlm this company
A great site to get a loan and small payments on time of different stores in their list. I have used it at least 6 times. No interest either!
Answer: On paper legit, sort of, but really a scam. They aren't even who you are financing with.
Answer: I had heard of the company because a friend actually knows the owner. Very sorry I did worst experience I have ever had.
Answer: It's not. They now also are charging large interest amounts. Don't use them.
Answer: Follow Walmart's lead... don't use them! Affirm makes everything complicated.
